Inter SAP clients FI/CO data transfer

Dear all,
I'm facing an atypic case where my customer is one legal entity but for business reasons has two sap clients. Therefore, FI/CO of both clients have to be interfaced. It includes, AR/AP, incoming payment and COA, vendor, customer master. (for master data can be manual process)
First I was wondering if anyone of you have ever faced such case.
Second I was wondering what would be the most efficient way to handle the interface (Batch input / ALE idocs / XI?)? Knowing that in terms of volume it's about 50 sales invoices a day with pick of 150. Also, taking into account that for credit control issue, night batch would not be acccurate enough.
Finally, how to put in place the trigger that will allow to copy for instance accounting document created in one client to the other one client. (for instance an instruction that will take place at the save of vf01)
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

  • Message 'can only work in client 001 during data transfer

    Hello Experts,
Recently I setup a interface between ECC and SCM system for EWM, my data transfer was working fine until last couple of days when I getting this error message on the SCM side.
Message in CFM2 comes up as
    Function/Q/SAPAPO/CIF_LOC_INBOUND
Text:        You can only work in client 001
And not sure why because I have not made any changes to settings.
Can someone please suggest what might be going wrong and what needs to be done?
    Thanks
    Bhaskar

    Hi Bhaskar,
I have not worked on EWM, and don't know if CIF connectivity is used differently.
But let me try to propose a general way forward based on your error message.
It seems that your CIF data is trying to reach a client where you are not authorized to work, or where CIF settings are not maintained properly.
Should be linked to RFC connectivity between R/3 and APO (unless it's due to some SAP bug).
    Check out the following:
    1) Which APO client is your CIF model pointing to? You would most likely be able to find this out by seeing the name of "logical system" for your CIF Integration Model (IM). It seems the CIF IM is pointing to some client which is something other than client 001.
Also, my guess would be that this client that you maintained in CIF IM is no longer having settings relevant for CIF, or something else.
    2) Go to your APO system, and again cross-check which client you are using. Next go to /n/sapapo/cq and see which R/3 systems are having active connections to your APO system. The "logical system" corresponding to your R/3 system/client should be there in the list. if not, ask your Basis team if they made any changes recently.
PS: I would assume that you should get this same error for CIF of any object, not only material (unless the corresponding IM points to a different client in APO).
Let me know the results of your checks, and if this helps you in finding out the root cause.
PS: Logical system normally would have a naming convention like <System name>CL<Client>. e.g. PR1CL310. Here PR1 is system name and client is 310.

  • SAP Retail : Article Master Data Transfer using LSMW/ARTMAS05: EAN Error

    Hi Bjorn Panter,
I want to thank you for providing very informative articles on the Master Data of ERP Retail.
We are currently loading articles to SAP from legacy and use your articles on ERP Retail as part of our knowledge warehouse.
We have encountered an error which has stumped our conversion.
We are getting an M3 535 error stating that "First specify the main EAN for the unit EA".  We are using LSMW (IDOC Method, Basic Type ARTMAS05).
Our MARM segments have generic and variants.  The UPC and UPC category (set to UC) are filled for the variants and blank in the segment containing the generic.
Our MEAN segments contain variants only with the UPC and UPC category (set to UC) filled.
Our UC EAN category is configured with a blank check digit algorithm and a number range of 12 digits.  We are loading our variants with EANs that are 12 digits.
    When debugged IDOC_INPUT_ARTMAS, I noticed that :
In routine  MARM_UEBERGEBEN (in function module BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT), this code clears our MARMX indicators :
       LOOP AT UNITSOFMEASURE.
        ART_DATA_EXISTS = 'X'.    "JH/05.01.00/4.6C Entkopplung der MALG
IF UNITSOFMEASURE-FUNCTION NE C_MSGFN_D.   ->>>> this checks if our function code is 003 (which is a delete).
    *     TMFIELDRES aufbauen
CLEAR UNITSOFMEASUREX.                   ->>>> Since we are doing a create, it clears the indicators in unitsofmeasureX
To bypass this clear, I debugged the program and overlayed the indicators and marked UPC and UPC category as 'X'.  This worked and we were able to post our IDOC successfully... THe UPCs showed in the MARM and MEAN tables.
However, knowing that there are a lot of Retail companies loading articles into their SAP system, it would seem odd that no one has reported this as a bug or no one has posted this issue in SDN.  I could not find any OSS note related to this issue either.
Can you please help us figure out what is wrong ? Have you encountered this error in the past ?  Is there something in config that we should check ?  Should we look at fields in our segments ?
Any help from you would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Dear Sarah,
please open an OSS customer message.
Put in a valid IDOC ARTMAS number with this error and open your system.
I guess either it is a bug in IODC structure or you found a bug in software.
    My colleages will take care.
    Regards
    Björn

  • Data transfer processes and info packages in new client

    Hi,
We have created new client from the development client.
The Info cubes and update rules are available in new client, bu the data transfer processes and info packages are not moved to the new client.
What is the actual sequence of steps to be followed when new client created from development client. Have I missed some sequence or steps. What are the sequence of steps to be followed when created a new client.
Kindly suggest to resolve this issue.
    thanks and regards
    Murugesan

    Hi,
I have never seen clients created on the BI system. As such all the objects in the BI system are client independent as well as the data stored in the tables does not have the mandt field. Hence you cannot distinguish different clients in the BI system. Also if you notice all the request in BI are workbench request and not customizing requests.
I do not think this is a viable solution. Maybe you can contact SAP.

  • SAP R/3 TO DATA BASE?

My scenario is to send the data from SAP R/3 TO oracle data base which updates the data\chages in oracle data base?
    Explain me this scenario?
    Thank you

    Hi,
When you need to load information into an SAP R/3 system from a legacy system, a set of tools that falls into the Data Transfer catagory are used. Between 3.1H and 4.6C there were major changes in this area of SAP. The old Data Transfer Workbench can be used, or you can combine the new tools with programs that you write to effectively manage a data transfer project. SAP offers The Data Transfer Guidebook www.saplabs.com/dx to help guide users through the process.
Moreover,  the new functions use BAPI interfaces and reduce the time and cost of mass data transfer . The
DXWB also integrates batch input and direct input based on the business object's
load programs. The DXWB is a one-stop-shop for all data transfers and contains
the Data Mapping and Conversion (DMC) tool and integrates with the Legacy
    System Migration Workbench data mappings.
The DXWB provides central functions to facilitate required DX tasks:
. Organize DX-related work (project organization)
. Access to DX-related documentation on specific topic
. Understand the SAP target structures
. Edit data file for test purposes
. Map legacy structures to SAP target structure by using DMC
. Run the required ABAP-based DX programs
. Log technical and application errors
. Correct erroneous records before reprocessing

  • Data transfer from E-recruitment to PA

    Dear All,
we are Implementing E-recruitment. while transferinf the data from E-recruitment to Personnel administraion, I am getting the error, No data available from the partner system table T752F). We are using the same server for E-rec and PA.
While doing the data transfer activity in E-recruitment i m getting succfulll. In R/3 while going to the Tcode PA48 i m getting the error.
    Please help me on this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Revathi.

An integrated hiring (data transfer) scenario with SAP e-recruitment
and R/3 starts with creating a "Data Transfer for New Employees"
activity within e-recruiting for the candidate selected to be hired.
Data from e-recruitment is transferred to the target HR (via an RFC
call) and stored there in a holding table (T572F) for processing
by an appropriate action.  Within the HR system, execute transaction
PA48 to access the holding table.  Select the candidate you want to
process and then click the "Hire" button, and continue with the
    appropriate action.
This message occurs, if you execute PA42 or PA48, in order to perform
the personnel action RA (Integration with Recruitment in Partner
Systems) and no data exists on the R/3  or external system.
You will find all the relevant information in the IMG documents

  • Database - Listener Ports -- Data transfer

    Hi,
If there are two databases running on the server, Is it opt to configure unique listener port for the two databases? and what happens if a unique listener port configured?
    Thanks
    KSG
Edited by: KSG on Oct 16, 2011 11:53 PM
    Hi Jgarry/Hemant
    For client-server data transfer.
    I understand like
First, the client send the request to the db server, the listener listens the connection and creates a database server process to handle the request (may be a query..
I just want to understand how the processed data information passes to the client.. i meant.. what are the ports involded to transfer the data back from db server to the client?
From Jgarry, I understand the data flow actually happens through a seperate data port (say it may be any port 1599 or someting).. So Do all the further traffic happens between client-server or server-client uses the same Data-port?
Im trying to understand the architectural flow of connectivity between clien-server and vice-versa. which will help to understand better.
    My concern is..
we are establishing connectivity from client through TNS names. The server listenes the connectivity and creates a server session to execute the connectivity. Simply like.. a request made from client to database to listen service_name 'orcl', host=abc.com protocol=TCP port=1521. which is listen on the server side and the server recoganize the connectivity...
Here I'm trying to understand.. once the connectivity is established then there is no need of listener anymore. Even we can stop the listener. How the TCP portocol in the Oracle Net is going to establish the data flow between the servers (how the sequence of request and response happens).
If the TCP network layer is used to interact between the servers then how the data flows between the servers; like is it uses a seperate port number to send/receive the data.
    Thanks

    Yes,these are right
How the client gets actual data transfer from both of these databases?
Clients wil connect using bank2 or bank1 descriptor and will connect bank1 or bank2 services which registered in your listener,You can see that using lsnrctl services command
Ex: If the client connets to the server 10.93.10.40, which ports are used to transfer data from database server to client server?
There used 1521 port to connecting .

  • Data Transfer methods

    Hi all,
Can anyone please explain me what are synchronous and asychronous data transfer methods?
Where are the settings to be done in R/3 to get data to BI ?
    Thanks in advance

    Data Transfer
    Definition
    Synchronous Data Transfer
Data is transferred directly (simultaneously, synchronously) from program to program via CPI-C communication.
Both communications partners must be available at the same time. Because the central SAP system in a typical SAP installation does not run round the clock, but the linked systems are frequently in operation 24 hours a day, asynchronous data transfer is necessary.
Synchronous data transfer has the following disadvantages:
Transfer is not possible is the partner system or the line is not available.
A data backlog in the reciever system causes a data backlog in the sender system. Processing in the application is delayed.
If a connection is broken, it may be necessary to perform a recovery in both systems.
    Asynchronous Data Transfer
With asynchronous, or buffered, data transfer, data is temporarily stored in a sequential queue.
Asynchronous transfer has the following advantages:
Wait times in the sender system are avoided.
A recovery is automatically performed in the sender system.
Transfer need not be performed during online time. This avoids placing unnecessary load on the system and thus helps to reduce costs.
The Queue Application Programming Interface (Q-API) is an SAP interface for asynchronous data transfer.
Data is buffered sequentially and processed immediately or later by an asynchronously running process.
One possible processing method is to send data to an external partner system via CPI-C. Data units that belong together can be stored in accordance with transaction and sent to a communications partner.
Data is buffered in queues before it is transferred to the target system.
In an R/3 System, the queues are stored in a relational database. All R/3 database systems are supported.

  • Data transfer b/w SAP to Java using IDOC and Interface SAP Jco

    Dear Experts,
The challenging requirement we are having is, we need to create the interface for data transfer between SAP system and the Java system. The data will be transferred from SAP to java and similarly once some processing done in Java again the details needs to be transferred from Java to SAP.
For this data transferred we are planning to use IDOC process and for interface "SAP Java connector (Version 3.0.5)" we are planning to use. As per our understanding, from Java side one program needs to be written to connect with SAP as "Registered program". This registered program will appear in SAP GATEWAY automatically and using tRFC, TCP/IP connection both SAP and Java system will be connected.
In this case we are having some doubts.
    1. The data from SAP is going to be transfered from one Custom transaction (Z tcode). Once "Outbound IDOC" will get triggered and will carry the details. Now the doubt is, whether the data / details will get transfered to JAVA system automatically or we need to perform any other steps from SAP ABAP coding...(like converting in to flat file, XML file and etc) ??
    2. We are planning to install "SAP Jco" in Java server. Is this correct...??
    3. Other than SAP Jco any other softwares needs to be installed or not..??
    4. Since we are going to trigger the "outbound IDOC" from custom transaction, we are planning to develope one program in SE37. Other than this any other program we need to develop or not..??
    5. Any sample Java program for the SAP Jco version 3.0.5 to create the "Registered program" with SAP..? (e.g. SAP Listener program).?
If anybody has detailed steps or explanation please share it with us.
    Thanks in advance
    Warm Regards,
    VEL

    Hi All,
For the above mentioned issue, we implemented JCo software in JAVA system and created the JAVA program including SAP logon credential details like Client, User name, password and Language details.
When this JAVA program was compiled successfully then, that non SAP system will appear in SAP gateway Tcode.
Once non SAP system started appearing in SAP gateway that means, both SAP & Non SAP are connected automatically.

  • Data transfer between SAP & Java and Vice versa using IDOC Process

    Dear Experts,
We are working on one of the good requirement related to data transfer between SAP and Java software. Client requirement is, they want to transfer the data in both the ways (from SAP --> Java and Vice versa also).
In detail is, after sales order creation using one custom program loading plan details will be calculated. Once loading dates are confirmed then, user will release the sales document to transfer the data from SAP to Java using "Outbound IDOC processing". Similarly in that JAVA software some shipment details will be performed, once completed from JAVA software again details needs to be pumped back to SAP as "Inbound IDOC Processing".
For this fields are already identified from external software SAP and we are looking for the same to perform the steps in SAP.
At this stage, I need your expert opinion  / feedback how to go  about at this stage.
    Meaning,
                     1. What are the customizing steps needs to be done in SAP..?
                     2. How to trigger the :Outbound IDOC process" once the documents are "Released" from custom transaction
                     3. How to create the link between SAP and JAVA to transfer the data between these 2 software
                     4. How to trigger the "Inbound IDOC Process" from JAVA software to SAP and how to store the data in SAP
Experts, please give your feedback in terms of reply or by sending the step by step process to fulfill this client requirement.
    Thanks for your cooperation.

This looks like a small project where you already know what you want, maybe you should contract a technical specialist so he proceeds to the implementation!

  • OM and PA data transfer from SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0

    Dear Experts,
    hi
i am working on one project where i will need to design the data transfer from SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0. this is not a upgrade project.
the data of PA and OM are in 4.7 which is existing system. i need to transfer entire data into ECC 6.0 so i can use that data for my E-Recruitment module ( we are doing E-rec fresh implementation.)
we will keep both the systems (4.7 and ECC 6.0). ECC 6.0 will be used for E-Rec and OM only. for PA and Payroll we will use 4.7.
    can some one tell me,
    1. what are the key points to keep in consideration from OM point of view ?
    2. which is the best method to transfer the OM structure and data from 4.7 to ECC?
    3. what are the risks?
    4. which system we should make master system and which will be the slave system? why ?
your input will be much appreciated.
    thanks and regards
    chandra

    Hi Chandra,
I was under the impression that you are planning to use PA & OM from 4.7, now I read it again.
Now its advisable to keep ECC 6 as a master system, becoz OM is the stating point of the HR processes where all Orgnization unit, job, position exists. Later the same data can flow to the slave system for PA use. As OM is the starting point, this system should be the master system.
    Abou the IDoc interface.
Check the basic type HRMS_A05, whether it has all the data you need to transmit. T-Code WE30
If you need to add something you can create a Z version in WE31. I selected HRMS_A05 as it is present in both the SAP version.
Next there are series of transaction you need to process. Check with technical person who hands IDoc interafcing.
    Steps are:
Assigning Message type to IDOC Type with extension. T-Code WE82
    Create Logical System:
    T-Code SALE-> Basic Settings-> Logical Systems-> Define Logical System
It is required to configure in the sending system as well as in the receiving system
    Assign Logical System to Client:
T-Code SALE-> Basic Settings-> Logical Systems-> Assign Logical System to Client
    Create RFC Destinations:
T-Code SM59, select ABAP connection of type 3.
    Create Distribution Model: T-Code BD64
    Generate Partner Profile: T-Code BD82
Maintain sending system partner profile: T-Code WE20
Link Message Type to Function Module T-Code WE57 in receiving system only
    Hope this will help.
Let me know if you need anything else.
