Interfaces: UOM conversion rate issue

Hi All,
We have an outbound interface, which lists all the new subinventory transactions to the third party(then we are updating an attribute column in mtl_material_transactions, so that this record will not be send again). Third party makes all its transactions only in Saleable UOM(SUOM), where as we do all transactions in PUOM. The current logic we are following is, before we are going to send the inventory transactions, we will convert the quantity to SUOM and we will send it.
Suppose if we transfer 15 quantity from subinventory A to B, and conversion rate between SUOM and PUOM is 5, then we will send 3 as quantity to third party. If the quantity is 12 in PUOM, then we will get 2.4. We are erroring out these type of quantities and informing these type of transactions through mail to the concerned person. We are not updating any attribute column for the error record. So it will always send trough email, as an error record for ever.
Presently we have the code which i have explained. Suppose the concerned person after receiving the mail, If he do a reverse transaction from B to A, with quantity as 12, then this transaction will also be considered as an error record(as its quantity is 12). And how could the reverse transaction stops the primary transaction from sending through mail.
We also have other outbound interfaces like move order information and pending PO information. For these interfaces, do we have any option to reverse these transactions. Please let me know.
Many thanks in advance.

  • How to calculate UOM conversion rate

    Hi All,
Whether there is any Standard API available to calculate the UOM Conversion rate.
There can be interclass intraclass or standard conversion.
    Please help.

    Hi,
If the Business no longer uses the 500 pcs conversion, one could Inactivate the conversion and define a new one.
If Business wants to have a choice of using 500 or 450 pcs, then a new Case UOM needs to be defined.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to change UOM conversion rate

I have an item assigned to a UOM. I define the conversion rate like 1case = 500 pieces. Having done that, I transact a few numbers. Now after some time, the business requires that the conversion be changed as 1case = 450 pieces. Now, as I understand, changing the conversion rate from 500 to 450 directly on the existing conversion definition will definitely corrupt the data. Now if I have to define a new conversion, then the system would not let me choose the UOM 'case' on the same item.
Creating a new UOM also would not help as changing the UOM of the item is also not receommended.
What can be the approach in this case? Any pointers or help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Conversion rate issue in real estate.

    Hi,
The currency of the company code under which the contract is created is GBP where as the vendor with whom the rent agreement is entered into is related to EUR currency. In this case, the local currency is GBP.
We observed that the u201CThe Rent Payable increaseu201D in cash flow is not getting reflected correctly in Local currency as per the exchange rate between EUR and GBP. It is getting reflected correctly for all the other cash flows.
Is it the common system behavior or is it a bug? Please provide us clarity. Thanks.

  • UOM conversion problem when issuing material against BOM

    Hi All
I have a material which is part of a production BOM.
    The base UOM is EA.
    The issuing UOM is KG.
    I have a UOM conversion of 20 KG = 1 EA.
In the BOM I need to issue 0.034 KG.
When backflushing happens, it issues 1 EA.
Why is it not issuing in KG?
This is a problem because in effect i have now issued 20 KG instead of 0.034 KG!
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Deidre

    Dear All
Thank you for your input. I have double checked and everything in the BOM header and component level is KG, and the plant/storage location data is also KG. The only place the EA appears is in the base uom.
I suppose the biggest mistake is that the material should have been created with base UOM of KG, but it's too late to change it now, which is why I hoped the UOM conversion would have taken care of that.
@Mario, i was actually trying to post 0.034 KG, which then got posted as 1 EA.
    Thanks

    Hi Gurus,
I have a scenario, Creation of PO time i'm getting EUR conversion rate 1.345 to an USD rather than to get 1.502. Prior to this i have checked the OB08 there my rate shows 1.502 for the particular period but by default it's pulling the conversion rate as 1.345 which wrong right now, if the user not know abt this conversion rate then it become an issue.
How to restrict and get it correct rate, what could be the reason plz.
Could any body through some light on this issue plz.

    Hi All,
This was happend bcoz of alternative Ex. rate existing for "M" Ex. rate as "EURX".
At Ex. rate table maintenance, I take out the 'EURX'  rate for 'M' than the problem was solved.. it's picking the 'M' Ex. rate promptly..
You can see at query: M exchange rate is over riding by Eurx... in sdn.sap.com, it gives more understanding.
    Thanks for your valuable inputs..

When I am trying to execute the Query,I can see the result but I received below Warning messages.
Also I am not authorized to check the conversion rate using TCURR.
    1) Calculated conversion rate 301.149,42529 is too big.

System response : The Processing can not be continued because the calculated rate cannot be used.
    2) Error occurred during currency conversion.
You attempted to Convert the currency. The system cannot find the valid currency into which to convert the value.
The OLAP Processor cannot convert the currency. The drilldown is not changed.

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks fr the info. that u all hv given ..... I ran one program frm our side which will be updating the transfer exchange rates as u all have mentioned. But then , i am receiving the warnings.
    Also,when i have checked the conversion rates,they r fine.
Please find the Below diagnosis ,which they hv given.
    Diagnosis:
The exchange rate 301.149,42529- was calculated via the base currency USD. This produced a rate which exceeds the      maximum allowed value of 9999.99999.
    System Response:
The processing can not be continued because the calculated rate can not be used.
    Procedure:
Check the conversion rate to the base currency USD and the exchange rate type E. If the rates are correct, you must agree different conversion factors for the currencies in question (e.g. 100:1 instead of 1:1), so that the resulting conversion rate does not exceed the value 9999.99999.  Notification Number SG 119 .
Please solve this issue. Thanks in advance!

  • Cost and/or Conversion Rates are missing for some planning resources

    Hi,
In Workplan of projects, we are facing a issue "Cost and/or Conversion Rates are missing for some planning resources". even though the schedules for the project WP is defined.
Any inputs on this is highly apprciated. Thanks !!!

Did you check the Cost for all the Planned Workplan Budget Lines. Generally, this type of error comes when the Quantity is defined but the Cost is missing for any Line. Find that Planned Workplan Budget Lines and enter the Cost for them and save it.
I hope it may help you.

  • Question about UoM conversion

I'm trying to implement the UoM conversion that is now standard in BI 7.0.  I think I have all the backend work done, but I'm having trouble converting the UoM on the front end when running a query.
Here's what I did on the backend to set it up.
1- I went to 0MATERIAL (BEx Explorer tab) and entered 0BASE_UOM as the Unit field.
2 - I then generated the conversion ODS.
3 - I created transformation to the ODS using 0MAT_UNIT_ATTR.  I did have to use a master data lookup for the BASE_UOM field (using the values in 0MATERIAL) since the 0MAT_UNIT_ATTR didn't have the Base Unit of Measure, just the conversion one.
    4 - Loaded the ODS for 1 material (test material 1 EA = 1 EA and 1 KIT = 20 EA)
5 - Defined a Converstion type (trans RSUOM).  I used Dynamic Option 3 (InfoObject, then T006 tables).  I set the Source UoM = DataRecord, and Target is set to "Selection during Conversion"
Here's what I did on the query:
    1. For my key figure, I went to the conversions tab.  I selected my Conversion type.
    2. I created a user entry variable with a default value of "EA".
When I run my report, I enter KITS on the selection screen, but the report still shows eaches.  I can navigate to the Currency conversion on the report via the menus, but I can't find anywhere for Units.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Rudy

First, is there any particular reason why you used:
    Integer a = Integer.valueOf(1);while I used
    Integer a = 1; //boxing
Just to get rid of boxing conversion as a possible issue--which it shouldn't be, but might as well keep it simple.
    Integer a = Integer.valueOf(1);
    Comparable<String> cs1 = a; // errorbecause we are assigning to a Comparable<String> an
Integer value, and that's illegal, since String and
Integer are not in a subtype relation (?)Something like that, yes. I'm not sure of the exact clause of the JLS that forbids it.
    >
    Comparable<Integer> ci = a; // ok
    Comparable<String> cs2 = ci; // errorbecause we are assigning to a Comparable<String> a
Comparable<Integer>, and again, String and Integer
are not in a subtype relation (?)Yep.
    Comparable<String> cs3 = c1; // warning
Comparable<String> cs4 = c2; // warningit's what I believe is called 'heap pollution' I forget what that term means, and am too lazy to look it up, so I'll take your word for it.
    and I
believe that on first use a ClassCastException will
be thrown Sounds right. Run it and see for yourself.
(although the compiler behaves correctly by
flagging an unchecked warning, for compatibility with
    legacy systems, etc)Right.

  • Incorrect UoM Conversion on Transfer Requirement from Production Order

I have a Question on a Production Order that created a Transfer Requirement.  Looking at the Components of the BOM within the Production Order, I have a Material where the Issue Unit of Measure is QT and the Base Unit of Measure is EA, with a Quantity of 1.   In the Material Master Alternate Unit of Mesaures, the Conversion is setup so that 1 QT = 1 EA.   The question of why the 1 for 1 conversion is not relevant, as this is just how the material was setup and I know it does not make any sense.   When the Transfer Requirement is created it is showing that 1 Qt = .25 EA.  I am unable to locate where this conversion is coming from.   We do not want to lose visibility of this part number, as creating a new part number with a Base Unit of Measure of QT would fix the problem.
Is there anywhere in configuration where there could possibily be a Conversion?  I have looked at Control Cycles and the Reference Operation Set and do not see anything.

Closing Thread as there has been no responses but I am still looking for a solution.  The only  possibility that exists at this time is the material was copied from another material and the UoM Conversion was 1 QT = 4 EA on the Copy From Material.  I can not see where any changes were made to the unit measure conversion for the new material.  The only other possibility is the Production Order was manually converted to the new material incorrectly.

  • Receipt Default Conversion Rate

    Hello,
We create a Receipt Interface Script to create the Transactions Automatic and receive the items from the PO, when we checked the receipt created the conversion rate was coming from the PO Header but now comes from the PO Distributions and our script has not changed, does anyone know what could have happened and how to solve it?
    Thanks

    Vamsi,
You are right. I tested and I got error 95357 'There is a missing system source value. Please inform your system administrator or support representative that: There are no values for the system source Default Conversion Rate Type used by Oracle Subledger Accounting.'
So that leaves me two choices: a custom source (not recommended for performance reasons) or an additional column in the transaction object which is a bit silly as it will always be populated with the same value. Any suggestions for a better approach are welcome.
    thanks

  • Article UoM conversion differs from Inforecord UoM conversion

    Hi experts,
While creating article through MM41(ALE), in basic data, we have maintained base UoM as KG and another UoM 1 CAR = 12 KG. The article is gettting created properly.
But the issue is the conversion for CAR is not reflecting correctly in the info record, it is 1 CAR = 1 KG in inforecord. In Purchasing view, We have maintained CAR as order unit. and variable order unit as 2 (active with own price).
The conversion in inforecord should be as same as the article UoM conversion. Can you please throw some light on why is this happening?
    Many thanks,
    Maniraj

    Hi,
I have checked inforecord log, there is no change log.
If the UoM measure has not been transferred to inforecord, the ideal conversion should be 1 KG = 1 KG, but in my case its 1 CAR = 1 KG, the order unit is getting transferred, why not the conversion value (1 CAR = 12 KG).
When i create directly throught MM41, all the details in the Note applies, and everything is fine.
    Thanks,
    Maniraj

  • Reg:Currency Conversion Rates

    Hi All,
How can I get the history rate and Conversion rate for a particular currency for a particular date.
For example I have given INR as currency in my screen on a particular date(Hist Date). Then the rate of INR against USD will be the HISTORY RATE.
And if I change the currency to some other currency on some other date (CONV Date) then the rate of that currency against USD  on that date will be the CONVERSION RATE.
So how can I calculate these.Do we have any function modules or any tables in which I can get the SAP Exchange rates, so that my issue gets resolved.
Please help me in resolving this issue.
    Thanks,

  • UOM Conversion for Catalogs

    Hii,
We are on Global Catalog Implementation. For a global catalog, we have US users, for certain items there UOM is gallons, for the same items, the european users want in liters
can we do the UOM conversion with the OCI Interface BADI  BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER
Is this the correct BADI.we have other option like creating again a seperate catalog for certain set of users.
    Which is Best Pratice.
    Please advise me.

    Hi
You can use the BADI <b>/CCM/CHAR_VALUATION</b> to create, change, or delete the values assigned to catalog characteristics before they are written to the database, or after they have been read from the database. You can modify both static characteristics and customer-specific characteristics.
For more details check the BADI definition help.

  • UoM conversion error while loading Material Master

    Hi,
Our Legacy system is also SAP (lower version) and we're trying to move the data to ECC6.0. We're using MATMAS_MASS_BAPI03 to move Material master records.
All the Alternative UoM to be moved with 'no change'. Everything gets moved except for LBs and FT3s and we get message 'UoM Conversions are inconsistent'.
I entered LBs, for example, online in the new system and found that conversion factors (NUmerator and Denominator) were indeed different.
    Legacy LB:  Numerator - 4756 and Denominator - 65113
New System LB: Numerator - 2564 and Denominator - 35103
If you have noticed, we will get the same result if you divide Numerator by Denominator.
Note: KG values were same in the both systems without any issue.
What should we do to get it right?
    Best Regards,
    Ram

    Hi,
While loading attributes U have to select the transfer structure of the 0MATERIAL_ATTR then activate it..now proceed if it is already replicated in to BW system... other wise first do that..then go ahead....Similar to Text also...
