We have to make interface with Matrix one PLM solutions with R/3 to transfer Material Master and BOM .
Here we don't have middleware (XI etc). Is there any way to make interface by using BAPI .. (Url http://www.matrixone.com/matrixonesolutions/index.html)

Q.) Can we interface R/3 with E Matrix One PLM system by using BAPI. E Matrix one PLM system is developed on java ?
A.) YES..MatrixOne website mentions that integration with ERP products like SAP, Orcale is possible.
Q.) What are the interfacing steps?
A.) If your comapny has bought the product I'm sure you would have received some documentation on interfacing MatrixOne with SAP.

Importing Managed solution into 2015

Hi all,
We just went through an upgrade of our DEV and QA environment to 2015, and I am having problems importing one of our managed solution into our QA environment.
I have incremented the version number and the export from DEV works without any problems. When I look at the solution zip, it all looks good. All the changes (mainly JS files) are present. The import in QA also runs without errors.
When I use the application however, many (all?) of the javascript libraries did not get published and are not in use by the system.
Any ideas what is going on here?

I don't believe that is it unfortunately (I have seen that issue before).
The issue is with our custom libraries. In QA, I had version 1.1.0.0 of the solution installed. I updated with version 1.2.0.0, which included a new set of custom JS libraries. The import was successful (no errors and the version number of the solution in
CRM now shows 1.2.0.0).
However, when I access the solution using a browser, I get served 1.1.0.0 libraries AND that is what I see when I open in CRM too.
The JS was correct in the solution file and the import seems to be successful. Where is the new Javascript?

How to combine multiple Unmanaged Solution to one single Managed solution

Hi,
How to combine multiple Unmanaged Solution to one single Managed solution.?
There were some other third party developer have kept things lik ein UAT there are 2 release solution and both are Managed Solution.
And in Production the changes are only deployed for release 1 and for the release 2 changes deployment needs to be done.
But when i import that second release Managed Solution from UAT to Production then i got number of elements missing but i have checked they are already there in Soolution.
I did some R&D on this but not much helpful.
I thought i require to convert Unmanaged Solution of Production environment to Managed first for first release and then needs to import Managed solution of UAT to Production for second release.
Is this the right way to overcome form this situation?
Any help and response would be really appreciated.

You can prepare unmanaged solution by adding all the components from the default solution,which are there in the managed solution, If Customizatiable entity is true in the managed solution.

Error - Update Product Data in Solution Manager

Hello,
We are currently downloading the Enhancement Package 4 in SOLMAN via Maintenance Optimizer, however, after choosing the Technical Usages in step 2.1, it shows an error in step 2.2 (Select OS/DB Dependent Files):
Error : Update Product Data in Solution Manager
Has anyone encountered the same problem? Would it be fine to continue on the next step after selecting the files which you need for your operating system-database combination.

Make sure that you update the product data in SAP Solution Manager. This is described in SAP Note 1277035 which is referenced from the collective SAP Note 1122966. If you do not update the product data, you might get an error message after the stack calculation. The message text explains the problem in more detail.

Production SLD in solution manager

Hi,
I have small doubt regarding SLD (System Landscape Directory) in Solution Manager.
We have an Production SLD in Solution Manager dual stack system, and our Production System (Portals, BI, ERP, PI) was configured to Production SLD in Solution Manger.
We are planning to apply patches for our live production Solution Manager System, I know that SLD will stop while doing the Patches on Solution Manager and this will make our production systems stop working.
Therefore I need to know the correct way around this to allow us to patches for our Solution Manager system.

How to remove Production System from Solution manager.

Hi All,
We have Three system landscape and solution manager installed.
All the system are managed by Solution manager.
here we are looking to remove the Production System from Solution manager.
as in case if is there any problem in solution manager then we are not dependent on it.
things will work directly on Production system.
Could you please let us know the procedure to remove the system from solution manager.

Have you implemented charm,ccms monitoring or any other functionalities?
if yes,.Delete the sytem from tms domain. and TR route needs to be adjusted, if you are using ccms, remove the agent details from RZ21 also.
Does your production system data coming from SLD?
if yes, Delete the entry from SLD
if both the answer is no.
1.delete RFC from SOLMAN to the production systems.
2. delete the production system using SMT2 transaction.
3. Remove system rom SMSY from SOLMAN.

Firewall in a zone to manage interface in another one

Hi,
I would like to allow remote access to a zone in a system using a network interface (say hme0). On the other hand I want to place a firewall on the same interface, so that once in, users cannot connect to other IP addresses on the private network ( in the same switch) .
All of these can be done with a firewall (IPFilter or other) but then local users would have access to the system where the firewall is installed thus weakening security.
What I would like to achieve with zones is this: have the network interface accessible in one zone ( so that I can put ssh on it and allow users access) but control the interface with firewall rules that cannot be changed no matter what users do in the "ssh" zone (even if they are root in that zone)
I know that usually a part of the firewall is implemented as kernel modules and realize things might not be simple. Could this be achieved ? How ?

IP Traffic Between Zones on the Same Machine
Between two zones on the same machine, packet delivery is only allowed if there is a "matching route" for the destination and the zone in the forwarding table.
The matching information is implemented as follows:
o The source address for the packets is selected on the output interface specified by the matching route.
o By default, traffic is permitted between two zones that have addresses on the same subnet. The matching route in this case is the interface route for the subnet.
o If there is a default route for a given zone, where the gateway is on one of the zone's subnets, traffic from that zone to all other zones is allowed. The matching route in this case is the default route.
o If there is a matching route with the RTF_REJECT flag, packets trigger an ICMP unreachable message. If there is a matching route with the RTF_BLACKHOLE flag, packets are discarded.
The global zone administrator can use the route command options described in the following table to create routes with these flags:
Modifier Flag Description
-reject RTF_REJECT Emit an ICMP unreachable message when matched.
-blackhole RTF_BLACKHOLE Silently discard packets during updates.

SQL Query from getting multiple itemName against one production No.

My Client required an interface which can combine the production cycle. In which single Interface shows all the Production cycle like Bills of material, Production Order, Issue from Production and received from Production.
Similarly i have developed single interface for now i have 1 problem ,
when i show all the the production order number in a matrix i got Prodcution order number, DocNo,and Status .
as u know in one production order against multiple items, Similarly in multiple items there have been multiple ItemNames , I need multiple ItemName .
For this i have developed a Query but unfortunately my query doesn't show all the ItemName.

Linking solution manager projects with CHARM implementation project

Hi Guys,
Currently i am working in CHARM implementation project, i have created one CHARM implementation project with urgent correction and i am able to create the Transport request and release the transport request succesfully and i am able to move it to quality system successfully. But my customer is asking to link the solution manager project to CHARM implementation project.
Earlier before implementing CHARM they have implemented project managent in solution manager, during that project they have created so many projects which are currently running, now they want those projects to be linked CHARM implementation project.
When ever they create a transport request through CHARM they want the TP to be saved under a respective project which they are using currently. but according to my knowledge the TP can be saved under CHARM implementation project only.
Now i want to know whether the projects created in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN can be linked to CHARM implementation project. Pls give ur valuable inputs as it is very urgent.

We have implemented this with two systems landscape where in we have in place a Solution Manager Dev system and Solution manager Production system both are SOLMAN 4.0 with SP12. So the path for us to move the changes is from Development Systems to Production system.
We have ChaRM between the Dev and production. We reapplied the satellite system concept. For us the Solution manager Prod is a satellite systems all the changes that we move from Development system to Production systems is tracked with necessary documentation in the ChaRM process.
Yes, I agree with you that this is not any big magic. Working with two SOLMAN implementation, I strongly feel that SAP needs to have well rounded ChaRm processes. We have robust Change Management Process, but when we moved to ChaRM we were limited functionality of the ChaRM processes.
I had approached and did some research on how other companies are implementing the same process. Most of them have almost the same process for tracking SOLMAN changes. I am still look out for improved process to manage SOLMA changes.

In the solution directory you can manage your solutions.
One of the challenges you face in production after completing a project successfully is preserving the knowledge gained from the project and keeping it up to date during operations. SAP Solution Manager's solution concept is designed to help you do this. A solution contains information about system, software components and business processes(scenarios), which you can transfer from your project to SAP Solution Manager. You thereby ensure that all of the information can still be accessed and consolidated further after the project has been completed.
You manage solutions in the Solution Directory. Solution offer the following advantages:
- All assignments in the SAP Solution Manager project are available;
- The scenario and business process structures are transferred to the solution;
- Configuration object assignments are readily available;
- You can use test cases in the structure to effectively test changes that have been made;
- You can reuse e-learning materials from projects in the solution;
- The solution has the same system landscape concept as the project, which means you can reuse the structure when upgrading.

Wireless network management solution

We are running a pilot project to deploy a centralize wireless solution for our campus. The pilot consists of only about 20 Cisco1200 access points. We are in need of Network Management solution to manage these access points. The NMS would have to pretty much behave like what we already have into place for our wired networks such as: alerts on snmp traps, thresholds settings, data capture, administration,etc, in general be able to proactively check possible shortcomings on the infrastructure and help to troubleshoot problems. Once we fully deploy the centrally controlled wireless network, there could be any way from 1200 to 1500 access points, so whichever system we choose must be able to scale to these numbers.
Im interested in knowing which wireless network management solutions are the preferred one from the audience on this forum. Your input will help me to narrow down possible options.

Production test manager application

Hi All,
I am developing production test software with LabVIEW 8.2 for hardware board. In our software, we are using database to store operator id, test id, production site, tests result and so on.
I want to make application (Production Test Manager), which targets to that production test software and initialize itself all the components(such as database) of it and run accordingly.
I am also using application toolbox to create .exe of production test software.
How do i create it, pls provide me yours valuable ideas.

I'm afraid you'll need to give us a little more information before we can recommend any specific solutions. What type of hardware are you interfacing with and will the hardware on the test stations be changing?
Norbert was exactly right that it sounds like our TestStand automated test software would be a good fit for your application. You can find more information about it at www.ni.com/teststand. I would recommend checking out the What is NI TestStand link as well as the 4-Minute Introductory Demo.
If you are trying to communicate with MySQL then you might also want to look at the Database Connectivity Toolkit for LabVIEW (found HERE). This toolkit gives you the ability to easily connect to any type of SQL server and perform database management.
As I said, though, these are just general recommendations that might apply to your project. In order to give you more detailed suggestions please post more information.
