Interleaved data saving and the TDMS Viewer VI.

Hello,
I'm using LabVIEW 2009 Service Pack 1 ( ver 9.0.1 32-bit ).
I was trying to take a piece of data and save it in interleaved mode.
The save operation seems to be completed correctly, but when the TDMS Viewer VI is launched it crashes, and I'm unable to browse the data.
I'm attaching the example I used.
What I want to know is:
1) am I using the write properly? What I'm trying to acomplish is to push down an array if I16 to a TDMS write block, recieve 30 channels of data this way.
2) I managed to use this VI and it crashes, on two PC's, one is a win7 32bit, the second one was an XP. But let me know if this runs properly for you.

I have a buffer that can accumulate up to 65536 I16 values.
In that buffer I get for example 6x 10000 values.
Every "chunk" of the 10000 values is my interleaved data. One point is one channel.
My data is shaped like in the opening post:
http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/TDMS-Streaming-in-interleaved-mode/m-p/1189201#M513943
Since I'm running a windows machine, sometimes I'll get 5x 10000 values, sometimes it will be 3x , sometimes 6x during one buffer swipe.
The data rate and the channel length is variable.
But let's talk about one case:
10k channels and 10 kHz rate of I16 vals.
That gives me roughly 200 MB/s of data that I need to get out of the buffer.
What I want to do on my PC is take that data, and save it interleaved to a TDMS file, while being able to safely stay above the 200 MB/s.
I would be intersted in aiming for 300 MB/s so that if we push our card further down the line, I'm not stuck with the streaming bandwitch.
I have noticed that unfortunately if you use an ammount of channles that is 10000 the writing performance drops dramatically.
What I figured out is that I'm not conducting 1 write on 10000 channels on a small ammount of data. But rather than that a large accumulated amount of data (like 8000 x 10000 of I16)
And I split the save of 10000 channels into 10x 1000 channels save.
First channs from 0-999 , than 1000-1999 etc.
All is done in interleaved mode.
This is Very Very fast indeed. I got rates of 360 MB/s. That's smoking fast!
Now the trick is... to handle the appropriate data shaping in the RAM, from my buffer, to the large shaped RAM chunk, that will be cut in to pieces for Streaming. LV is designed for data flow and copies data a lot, hence I get easlity in the out of memory problem, I'm going to have to use some ticks like storing the data structure via a VI Server call, or perhaps queues don't know yet. But I'm going to do some reading on that and it seems that this should be achieavable.
Thank you both for your input,
I will post if I get stuck.

Where is the data saved in the srtucture for a particular tcode.
For eg in MM01 there is a field with RMMG1
where dioes the data get saved from this field as in backend it shows the stucture and the structure can hold data only at runtime,
    Please help me
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
The strcuture : RMMG1 holds data at run time only that to it can hold only one record at a time.
so we use this structure to hold data at run time and then we insert those values into database tables for that program.
Here you can the values stored and processed in the program in the tables : MARA (for matnr ,mbrsh,mtart..),MARC (for Plant ),MARD( for storage location : lgort )...etc.
so if you want to fecth some data means first you have to choose right table to fetch information by passing values in the selection screen.

  • Only message "data saved" and customices messages

    Hello All
Is there a possibility in WAD for planning templates to suppress all messages except "Data Saved" and our customized messages from our planning functions? I know there is the "Internal Display" where one can deactivate warnings and information, but this would also include "data saved".
Is there also a way to not show the messages inside the frame on the top but in an extra popup-window?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Clemens,
a good starting point would be to take a look at CL_RSPLFR_WEB_START_SEQUENCE Method EXECUTE. There you see the execution of the planning sequence. This is followed by reading the message log. Hope this helps.

How can I force Time Machine to make a complete backup of my Hard Drive.  I just installed a new external drive for Backup since my previous one failed.  Now when I back up, Time Machine only backs up my data folder and the Users folder.
When I start a backup. Time Machine says "Oldest Backup: None; Latest Backup: None", so it seems like it should do a complete backup, but it only does a partial.

  • SQL ENTERPRISE: The edition of Reporting Services that you are using requires that you use local SQL Server relational databases for report data sources and the report server database

The error below makes absolutely no sense! I'm using Enterprise Core...yet I'm being told I can't use remote data sources:
w3wp!library!8!03/05/2015-19:08:48:: i INFO: Catalog SQL Server Edition = EnterpriseCore

Really? This totally contradicts the documentation found here:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157285(v=sql.110).aspx
That article says remote connections are completely supported.
ARGH! Why does this have to be so difficult to setup?!?

    Hi jeffoliver1000,
According to your description, you are using Enterprise Core edition and you are prompted that you can’t use remote data sources.
In your scenario, we neither ignore your point nor be doubt with what you say. But actually we have met the case before that even though the SQL Server engine is Enterprise but the reporting services is still standard. So I would recommend you to find the
actual edition of reporting services you are using. You can find Reporting Services starting SKU in the Reporting Service logs ( default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\<instance name>\Reporting Services\LogFiles). For more information,
please refer to the similar thread below:

  • Switching between the Classic View and the Tree View in transaction FEBA

    Hi All
I would like to know how to switch between the Classic View and the Tree View on transaction FEBA for post processing of bank statements. I have a scenario where in the DEV client the transaction is calling up the Tree View and in my QA environment it calls up the Classic View, and I would like to know if there is a way to easily switch between the two views.
    I'd appreciate your assistance.

    Hi,
I think you can do the same using transaction codes FEBA and FEBAN.

  • Registering with the WebEx Data Center and the Cisco WebEx Node Management System

    Dear guys, ...
    Please help,
i want to implement to webex node ASR1000, i have read in "Configuring the Cisco Webex Node for ASR 100.pdf", there is prerequisites to implement it, that is "Registering with the WebEx Data Center and the Cisco WebEx Node Management System"
Can someone tell how to "Registering with the WebEx Data Center and the Cisco WebEx Node Management System"
Are there any step by step documentation to "Registering with the WebEx Data Center and the Cisco WebEx Node Management System"?
    Thank you
    BR

You should have received a PAK Key with your order.  Go to Cisco licensing and enter the PAK Key as this will start the process.  Once the PAK Key is validated a screen will be displayed to enter your request for ASR 100 integration.  It normally takes a few days to a couple of weeks to get the information back from WebEx needed to configure your ASR.
If you did not get a PAK Key contact your WebEx rep to get the process started to integrate your ASR to your WebEx site.
    Hope this helps

  • No data found in the discoverer Viewer from Apps responsabiltiy

    Hi
We have built a new responsibility for the discoverer reports, that is we directly access the discoverer viewer from the separate responsibility, all the report that shared with the users can be viewed from this responsibility,
but when the user tries to run the report it is saying no data found.but for example if the user is trying to run the hrms report from this discoverer reasonability he get no data found but if we attach the function to the HRMS manager menu and try to access the report from the HRMS manager responsabilty we are able to get the data.
We did the same setup in dev and test.in dev it is working very fine but in test we are not able to see the records in the report if we try to access.
    Please advice
    thanks

    Hi,
I'm not 100% familiar with HR security, but sounds like profile option setup related to security - perhaps Business Group or Initialization SQL Statement - Oracle / Custom? Check the profile options set for the HRMS Manager responsibility and setup the same for your new responsibility.
PS. Similar sort of thing exists in General Ledger related to security. See:
    GL security issue in discoverer..

  • Why is the wrong date displayed in the month view?

    Hi there,
I just noticed something in the calandar for iOS7. If you are in the month view, the highlited date is the the priviuse day (fx will highlight the 18 Sep when we have the 19 Sep). but if you go in to the week view, the correct date is highlighted. Any idea's???

I had the same problem...in Calendar/Month view, the calendar heading (top left) did not match what was shown. For example, I would be seeing January 1 to 31 and the heading would be December.  As I scrolled down the months, the heading would lag one month behind. With guidance from Apple, I did a iCloud backup, then did a factory reset.  With the "new iPad" everything worked well.  I then downloaded my backup (all my data and apps) and the problem came back.  Tried a couple of things and what eventually solved the problem was removing the gTask app (which I had tried but was not using), then did a "Reset All Settings...no data erased) and now everything is working as it should.  Seems to me that there is a conflict with the Apple apps and gTask.

  • Date fields in the Maintainence View.

    Hello friends,
I created a maintanence view which of 2 steps. This view contains a DATE field of data element type 'DATS". Now the problem is -"
    1. In the first screen  of the viewI am not able to see only the DATE field(Over view scr).
    2. But I able to see the same field in the 2nd screen(Maintanence Screen).
Not only to my View I maintained ' Table Maintanence Generator" to some more tables. There also I am not able to see the date field in the first screen, unless it is a key field.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Step 1: Create & Maintain Table (SE11)
Screen 101: ABAP Dictionary: Initial Screen
Screen 102: Maintain Table -> Delivery and Maintenance
Screen 103: Maintain Table -> Fields
    [] SE11: Enter Table Name -> Create
    Enter Table Description (Mandatory Field)
    Select Delivery Class
    Set maintenance level
    Enter Fields, Assign Data Elements
    Save Entries
    Check Inconsistencies
    Activate Table
Go To Technical Settings (SCREEN 104)
Delivery Class: The delivery class controls the transport of table data when
installing or upgrading, in a client copy and when transporting between customer
systems. The delivery class is also used in the extended table
    maintenance.
There are the following delivery classes:
A: Application table (master and transaction data).
C: Customer table, data is maintained by the customer only.
L: Table for storing temporary data.
G: Customer table. The customer namespace must be defined in table TRESC. (Use
    Report RDDKOR54 here).
E: System table with its own namespaces for customer entries.
S: System table, data changes have the same status as program changes.
W: System table (e.g. table of the development environment) whose
data is transported with its own transport objects (e.g. R3TR PROG, R3TR TABL,
    etc.).
Data Browser/Table View Maint.: This indicator specifies
whether it is possible to display/maintain a table or view using the maintenance
tools Data Browser (transaction SE16) and table view maintenance (transactions
    SM30 and SM31).
MANDT field is mandatory for Client dependant tables
Technical Settings: The technical settings control, for example, table buffering.
Indexes: To speed up data selection, you can create secondary indexes for the table
Append Structure: Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard.
    Screen 104: Maintain Technical Settings
    Select Data Class (Mandatory) [APPL0]
Select Size Category (Table size - No. of records - Mandatory) [1 to 6]
Specify Buffering [allowed / not allowed]
    Save
    Check Inconsistencies
Activate & Go Back to “Maintain Table Screen”
Data Class: The data class defines the physical area of the database (for ORACLE
the TABLESPACE) in which your table is logically stored. If you choose a data
class correctly, your table will automatically be assigned to the correct area
when it is created on the database.
    The most important data classes
are (other than the system data):
    APPL0 Master data
    APPL1 Transaction data
    APPL2 Organizational and customizing data
Size category: The size category determines the probable space requirement for a table in the database.
Buffering: The buffering status specifies whether or not a table may be buffered.
    Screen 105: Maintain Table
Screen 106: Maintain Enhancement Category (ECC 6.0 onwards)
    -> Extras -> Enhancement Category
    Select Enhancement Category
Enhancement Category: Structures and tables that were defined by SAP in the ABAP
Dictionary can be enhanced subsequently by customers using Customizing includes
or append structures. The enhancements do not only refer to structures/ tables
themselves, but also to dependent structures that adopt the enhancement as an
include or referenced structure. Append structures that only take effect at the
end of the original structure can also cause shifts - in the case of dependent
structures - even within these structures.
Screen 107: Maintain Table -> Table Maintenance Generator
Screen 108: Generate Table Maintenance Dialog: Generation Environment
    -> Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator OR [] SE54
    Specify Authorization Group [&NC&]
Select Maintenance type [One Step/Two Step]
    Mention Screen Numbers [1/2]
    Save & Go Back
Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records. Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

  • Excel data source and the use of add command

HI, Looking for suggestions on how to work with multiple inputs that cannot be joined directly.  Here's the background.
The Report currently reads in two different Ecel files and uses 3 SQL commands to query an Oracle Database.  I need to join the 5 data sources and am having issues with the 2 excel files.  In one file I need to be able to derive a field based on another column in the file In order to create the join condition to the SQL commands.  I'd equate this to a case statement in SQL, but how goes one do that using the 'add command' feature?  What is the syntax?
Next I would need to join (left outer) the two excel files using two fields from file A (a1, a2) and 3 fields from file B (b1,b2,b3), where a1=b1 and b2 <= a2  <= b3 when rows from A exist in B.  If row A does not exist in B then we still want it in the report and available to left outer join to the 3 oractab data sources.
    runtime is also a concern.
    Any Suggestions?

    hi Elena,
in this case the use of subreports is not recommended. that's because you're exporting to excel and you need data in columns across the report. subreports will not, unfortunately, give you what you need.
this would bring you back to joining the datasources. what i would recommend is looking into using 'oracle database link' to link your oracle db to excel files. here's one article as an example but you may be able to find a better one. if you have questions on this please ask them on an oracle forum as the syntax that you need will be database specific.
a lot of databases have this type of technology which allows you to create a view to other data. sql server has 'linked servers', sap hana has 'smart data access'. essentially you are creating a non-materialized view to the external data. then this view is available on the main oracle server where you established this connection. this should be a lot easier than trying to bring a bunch of command objects together off independent datasources inside of crystal.

  • UIX - method data providers and the include element

I've just read in the documentation (Chapter 16 UIX Developer's Guide - Integration with Java ...)
'Instead of recreating the entire page and all of its UINodes every time you render, you'll be able to keep most of the page cached and only recreate the part that varies.'
The example given is using a method data provider which returns a UINode and data binding to it using <include data:node="node@source">
Is it true then that method data providers are always actioned when a page is rendered, even if it has been cached by the framework? If so does that apply to all method data providers not just those which provide data for <includes>? When hitting the back button I have a requirement for part of my page to be the latest view of some data - at the moment I'm overriding 'isCacheable' in my implementation of UIXPageBroker and always returning false to get the right effect but am unhappy about doing it this way.
    Hope this makes sense
    Cheers
    Ian

Data providers are always re-queried on every render; not just
method data providers, but all. So if the UINode served
up to data:node is different every time, you'll get different
    output.
However, this is an entirely orthogonal question to whether
the browser will bother asking for the page when the user hits
"Back". Server-side caching and client-side caching are
    very different beasts!
