My resolution for this error was to delete the activeX control within manage add-ons in the tools drop down menu in explorer. fixed it immediately.
Hope this helps.

  • Internet Explorer Shuts Down

    Post Author: mfirkser

We have a web application that uses Crystal Reports 10 to produce user reports in the ActiveX viewer.  Occasionally, after running a report, I get an error message telling me Windows in going to shut down IE due to some sort of problem, then I get those dialogs asking if I want to send the data to Microsoft.  I only get the error after running a number of reports.  I've received it with both Windows 2000 and Windows XP and with IE 6 and IE 7 (ours is an IE only application) and we use Weblogic 8.2 for our application server.  Anybody else have a problem like this?

  • Internet explorer shuts down when try and download itunes, what do i have to reconfigure?

i have a starter version of wndows 7

Have you tried closing the Photos app completely and then re-opening it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

  • I've lost the bookmarks icons after my internet was shut down and then brought back up.

My internet was shut down by accident by Comcast. When they corrected this and turned it back on, my icons in Bookmarks disappeared. The texts are still there, but without icons. Having the icons is very helpful.

It worked!!! Thank you very much Matt_G. I had to close Firefox before the icons appeared again.

Just got my Mac Mini and love it so far, but my internet keeps shutting down randomly and restarting itself. Is there a lack of memory being used for it and is there a way to change it? If so, how much should I allow it to use?

I'm on a LAN line, no router, the School is the ISP... Haven't had this problem on my PC. I did it about 2 times in a row, but hasn't done it since.

  • Trying to download Firefox and as soon as the "run" box appears Explorer shuts down.

Using Explorer, I'm trying to download Firefox. As soon as the run dialog box opens, Explorer shuts down. What do I need to do to download Firefox.

Does that happen with anything you try to download in IE, not just when downloading Firefox?

  • Error has occured flash9d.ocx internet must shut down

    OK
So apparently im not the only person with this issue from
what ive read in forums online. I have tried all the listed fixs
that ive found but every time i go to msn games i get the
flash9d.ocx internet explorer has to shut down error. Ive wiped my
computer 4 times in the past 2 days to try and fix the issue but i
guess thats not good enough because its still happening. I would
really appreciate it if someone could give me some useful advise so
that my games work. Please dont tell me to download adobe
uninstaller cause ive already tried that. Dont tell me to to copy
and past the flash9d.ocx file....paste and rename the new file
flash.ocx.....dont delete the orginal file...blah blah blah cause
ive done that too. I just want something that works.

i've got my fingers crossed, cec.
if we can't get itunes to launch again this time, let's try enlisting some additional technical help.
we'll get a crash log from itunes, and send it to so someone who can interpret crash logs.
Typically, you'll need to configure Dr. Watson on your PC in order to generate crash logs. Windows start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return. At the prompt in the command line window that comes up, type in
    drwtsn32 -i
    And hit return.
This will create crash logs in Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\. There'll usually be a file in here called "drwtsn32.log"
prior to collecting the itunes crash log, delete any existing crash logs in there. (we want to make sure we send the correct crash log.)
Log out of the account that itunes is launching in and log into the account that itunes crashes in. launch itunes, collect the crash log, and send it to this email address
    in the email:
    (1) state the precise version number of itunes that you're using. (go into your "Help > About iTunes" to doublecheck.)
    (2) include the URL to this thread so that the person who gets the email has some context, but also give as much information about the context of the crashing as you can.

  • Windows Explorer shuts down when trying to run Quicktimes

We are using Quicktime 6 Player on PCs running Windows 2000 Professional. Whenever you try to run a Quicktime movie from the Explorer browser, it shuts down along with Quicktime!!!
In addition, we cannot copy or move Quicktimes from one folder or drive to another without both software packages shutting down. The Quicktime movies are varied and are themselves not bad files. The only way I have found that allows me to run, copy or move Quicktimes is to work within Start/Run/Browse and doing a bunch or Right Clicking!!!
We are all up to date in regards to Windows Updates, so I am at a total loss as figuring out what the fix is. Any ideas? gsarahs

    Naveen,
The reports where developed in the current version.
There isn't any other version installed on the machine.
I only have Crystal Reports Developer XI installed on 1 machine in the office.  The reports are loaded in the Business Objects Management Console and available for other office staff to run from the Business Objects Viewer.  The reports run OK from the viewer.
I have tried un-installing Crystal Reports Developer XI and re-installing it already - the problem still occurred.
There are a number of faulty reports, some query 1 database others only 1 database, some have SQL tables others do not, most of them have subreports, formula fields, parameter fields, and group name fields, 1 also has a running total field.
Most of the reports I have created are similar but have different selections.
Thanks for your help, hope we can find a solution.
    Ann.

  • My firefox shuts down for as long as 8 to 12 hours & my internet exployer shuts down with it, been like that for 2 days?

In the last two days starting at 2:30 pm eastern time my firefox shuts down with my internet exployer and it will not open for 8 to 12 hours. Ive never seen this before. I deleted firefox from my control panel and reloaded it 4 times in 2 days and it still does not work right.

Simple, You have a hardware problem that only Apple can fix. So you need to take it back in to an Apple store and have it fixed by Apple. If it is still within it's one year warranty period it will be free.
If you khaven't bought the Apple care Extended Warranty, Applecare, then I suggest you do that before the standard one year warranty runs out. You can't buy it after that one year warranty runs out and to fix any Mac out of warranty is Very Expensive.

  • Reconnecting to internet after shut down

I have just got an ethernet connection. I put in a password in 'Internet connection' but every time I shut down the computer the password changes. In order to reconnect I have to phone the server and get them to reconfigure it. After two days on the phone with senior technicians they too are stumped. Any suggestions welcome

If you have an ethernet connection you don't need to use internet connect.
Do you mean you have PPPoE connection? Can you give more details, what kind of modem/router are you using?
