Internet Explorer troubles

I was using explorer, when it suddenly froze. Now every time I try to open it, the page comes up, but nothing happens. It just refreezes. I tried deleting the entire program and re-downloading it, but it still doesn't work. Just pinwheels and sits there.

Hey Run,
Just in case you didn't know. Microsoft stopped all development for Macintosh IE 5.2. You would be advised to find another browser as IE has several issues and it's a memory HOG.
FireFox is good, I use it myself and then there's Opera, which I know nothing about.
Good luck

  • INTERNET EXPLORER TROUBLE

does anyone know how to fix all the reported problems with viewing a webpage with internet explorer? our site: http://www.thebaandekmontessori.org seems to be up and running fine with safari and firefox but a few people have pointed out that it does not work with ie- any troubleshooting suggestions?

    Greetings,
I have experienced many problems, as you have, with IE. I have seen experts give advice to just get Safari or FireFox. But those kind of suggestions don't work in my environment and are thus not helpful -- and I expect that is the case with many others. I manage, for my wife, a website devoted to her quilting and needlework business. There are almost 1,500 people on our email list and practically all of them have PC's and practically all of them are barely comfortable with going to the site, must less being able to install some new "browser". They say to me "Well we can see other sites, you must have done something wrong." And I sympathize with them for we really want their view of our website to be a pleasant experience and not one fraught with frustration. They will simply not come back and look if they cannot relatively easily move around the site.
That said and recognizing that I can't just give up and tell them "Well it's Microsoft's problem" here is a list of work-arounds that have helped me in this quest and may help you.
    1) get rid of iWeb generated navigation bars. Develop your own and paste them on every page.
    2) Make sure that you do not have any text regions overlapping
    3) If you have a problem with a text region in IE then give that region a very small, even invisible, shadow. This will force IE to make a picture of the text and it will display OK.
My website that I did for my wife is as follows:
    http://www.patchesandstitches.biz/
I am not an expert as these guys on the right, but these things seem to work for me (most of the time.)
    Hope that this helps.

  • I have trouble connecting to internet explorer and with my office home and student 2010

I cannot connect to my internet explorer and I have trouble with my microsoft office home and student 2010 and when I look for a site with https at the beginning it won't connect

    Hello popoos:
Have you tried restoring your Inernet Explorer? Ooen open your internet Explorer click on tools tab and then click on Internet Options click on delete let it delete ever thing. This will delete temporary files. After that click on Advance tab and then click on reset. Close it out and then reopen it. Now goto Tools- tab then click managed add on in that list that appears enable the adobe software listed your anti virus software, Your printer if you use it on line Microsoft tool bars. I dissabled the search helpers because I personly don't want extra trash appairing on my screen. Also enable the replayer if you use it. I dissable all the the rest of toolbars you do not have to. I disable them because Because bing is safer. Now try Microsoft Office it should work now. Intetnet Explorer setting have been reset now.

  • Internet Explorer 7 - Trouble loading iWeb 08 Pages

Is anyone else having trouble with iWeb 08 pages not loading properly when viewed in Internet Explorer 7?
Everything loads fine on a Mac (Firefox 2.0) and even on a PC using Firefox but when viewing the site from IE7 it seems like pages containing photos (ie photo pages and blog entries) are having trouble loading completely. The images never appear or some images appear or some thumbnails fail to appear in the new photo gallery page.
Solutions? Work arounds? Or is this just a bug that needs to be repaired in an upgrade?
I love the Mac but the new iWeb and iPhoto seem a little glitchy out of the box.

    mtd,
I tested your site on my PC with IE 7. No problems. In fact I tested load times for both Safari (Mac) and IE (PC) and they were almost identical. I compared screens side by side and they looked the same. Some of you may not have updated versions of IE. Additionally the IE browser settings can be a bit tricky. You know, it's MS so troubleshooting is a given! One suggestion is to delete all the cookies currently running in IE 7 and give it another viewing.
I have noticed that some themes slow down both browsers. It's a matter of complexity of the theme.

  • Unable to read e-mails off of Hotmail when using Firefox, but I can with Internet Explorer. Hotmail seems to be the only one I have trouble with.

Having trouble doing different functions on Hotmail when using Firefox. Doesn't seem to be a problem with other sites. Also, no trouble using Hotmail when using Internet Explorer. This just started, yesterday.

I had no problem using Hotmail yesterday on Firefox 10.0.2

  • I'm using internet explorer(yuk!!) and am having trouble with getting back my search engine "google" and all i get is "blank page", can u help?

First of all, forgive me cuz I'm probably NOT the sharpest "chip in a laptop" but I use Internet Explorer as my ISP(I've heard that GOOGLE CHROME is soo much better??) and Google as my search engine. For some reason(I know, probably USER idiot!!) even though I have set in my "internet connections" tab, www.google.com chosen, the minute I click a new tab to look for something else, that dreaded "about blank" or maybe "blank page" comes up.....wtheck???? Can u help me pleeez......thank u ..

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

/* ~~ These are the columns for the layout. ~~
    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the divs. The elements within these divs have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.
    2) No margin has been given to the columns since they are all floated. If you must add margin, avoid placing it on the side you're floating toward (for example: a right margin on a div set to float right). Many times, padding can be used instead. For divs where this rule must be broken, you should add a "display:inline" declaration to the div's rule to tame a bug where some versions of Internet Explorer double the margin.
    3) Since classes can be used multiple times in a document (and an element can also have multiple classes applied), the columns have been assigned class names instead of IDs. For example, two sidebar divs could be stacked if necessary. These can very easily be changed to IDs if that's your preference, as long as you'll only be using them once per document.
    4) If you prefer your nav on the right instead of the left, simply float these columns the opposite direction (all right instead of all left) and they'll render in reverse order. There's no need to move the divs around in the HTML source.

Close the image tag at the end:
    <img... ...height:800;" />
You need to go through your <ul> and <li> tags very, very carefully.  You have some mismatched elements (missing closing tags) in your huge list.
    Here:
    <p>
         <!-- end .content -->
         <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="EditRegion4" --><!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
       <p> </p>
You have missed a closing </p> tag
These input elements need closing like this
    <input name="allcountry" value="ALLROMANIA" type="hidden" />
You may have too many closing </div> tags at the end of your page.
Check your site in the validator: http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.canonguy.net%2FKehilaLinktest %2F
Fix the problems you can and then revalidate it to see how you are getting on.

  • Troubles with web.show_document and internet explorer

Hi folks, this is my problem
I generate a text file on forms and then I use this to open the document in a new window
web.show_document( nome_ver_, '_BLANK' );where nome_ver_ is a variable with the url
Using mozila firefox this run fines and a new window is open and everything goes right.
But in some machines with the internet explorer the new window appear and then close in milliseconds. I try different's versions of IE on the machine and still have the problem...
    Anyone see this bug?
I try to disabled everything on secure on IE and still nothing...
Sorry for my bad english and thanks in advance
    Luis

You are generating a text file you say. Is it a pure text file? Or is it html that you wnt the user to view in the browser?
In what versions of IE is this happening in?

  • Yahoo e-mail will not allow me to add contacts and will not auto fill e-mail addresses, and now I'm having trouble downloading Adobe documents from my bank. All of these problems can be solved by using Internet Explorer, but I prefer Firefox.

I get an error message when trying to add new contacts and it is suggested I try back later, also when sending an e-mail the address I wish to send an e-mail to will no longer auto-fill. This has been a problem for sometime, maybe a month. The last problem I had was trying to download my March bank statement, in Adobe. If I switch to Internet Explorer I can accomplish these tasks. I am using Yahoo on both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Check the Ethernet connection to the AirPort Express. Make sure that the Ethernet connection from the Comcast modem is connected to the WAN port on the back of the AirPort Express. The WAN port is the one with the circle of dots shown over the port.
It sounds like you are connected to the Ethernet LAN port.

  • Having trouble with left align in all versions of internet explorer

I created my pages in Dreamweaver and uploaded them to my university's server.  Because we have a content management system and my boss didn't like the layout that we are able to use, I had to create separate html pages and place them into the CMS using iframes.  Each individual page has a banner on the top, and underneath that, a menu on the left side and the main body text on the right.    In Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, the menu takes up the appropriate amount of space (about 250 px) and then the body text is left aligned about 10 px to the right of the menu.  However, when I open the same page internet explorer, there is a large gap between the menu and the text. I have tried it within the iframes and without and both have this problem.  The URL is: http://chicago.medicine.uic.edu/UserFiles/Servers/Server_442934/File/Hematology/welcome.ht m.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I don't  use tables for layouts.  You have more control with CSS.
Copy & paste this into a new HTML page and play with it.

    <h1>Welcome!</h1>
<p>Welcome to the Section of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. There are over twenty-five faculty members that are committed to providing the highest quality of patient care. The section houses a variety of outstanding programs including an exceptional stem cell transplant program, a nationally recognized sickle cell program, and a strong neuro-oncology program.  We are one of the few universities that participate in the Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program and are also a member of the Myeloproliferative Disease Program, both being NCI-funded programs.</p>
<p>The program continues to be a leader in expanding the possibilities of cancer research.  Patients are given the opportunity to participate in a variety of pivotal clinical trials in thirteen different disease-type areas.  Our research teams work to ensure that tomorrow's science is practiced as today’s medicine.</p>
<p>Our three-year ACGME Accredited fellowship program offers fellows the opportunity to work with a  range of hematologic and oncologic disorders in a variety of settings in the Chicagoland area.  Fellows rotate at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, Mercy Hospital and now with MacNeal Hospital in Chicago’s west suburb of Berwyn.  Fellows are given the opportunity to focus on both clinical and bench research projects under the mentorship of our faculty members.</p>
<p>We welcome you to take a look at what our section has to offer.</p>

  • Trouble viewing in Internet Explorer

    Hello,
I created a website in Dreamweaver CS3 and everything was
going fine until I uploaded it and discovered that most of the
content could not be viewed (mostly the flash stuff). I then
discovered that Dreamweaver had randomly inserted <noscrript>
tags for my flash content, so I deleted the <noscript> I then
viewed the page using Firefox in Dreamweaver and all the flash
content had doubled up (it was showing replica images stacked on
top of each other), I then uploaded it and discovered that you can
view it just fine in Firefox and other web browsers but NOT
Internet Explorer which shows the content on the firs page but does
not show 90% of the content (all flash) on the other pages.
    The issues
    • Firefox (within Dreamweaver) displays doubled up
images after I deleted the <noscript> tags.
    • Most of the content of the site can not be viewed
    with Internet Explorer
The web address for the site is www.behel-witham.co.uk
I really appreciate all your help
    Thanks
    Adam

    > I then discovered that Dreamweaver had randomly inserted
    > <noscrript> tags for my flash content
You are mistaken. DW didn't insert anything randomly. The
    <noscript> tags
are in systematic locations and they are there for a good
    reason. By
hacking into this you have destroyed the accessability of the
    page.
Revert to the original code, and post a link to the page,
    please.

  • Trouble opening PDF doc in internet explorer

Have Adobe Reader 9 installed and using Internet Explorer V. 7 on a PC.  On a particular web site I can't open PDF files from their hyperlink -- just get a blank box.  Have turned off all firewall, cleared history/cookies, etc. to no avail.  The web site's technical support has no more ideas, as they are able to open the links from their end.  Problem seems limited to a particular web site, as I'm able to correctly display on other sites.  I am also able to open them using the Firefox browser, but not internet explorer.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

To make the hyperlinks in PDF file work, do the following:
    Open your Adobe Reader
Then select Edit à Preferences… from the Action Bar.
To make the links active, select Documents (under Categories).  On the right side, now under PDF/A View Mode, using the drop-down change  “Only for PDF/A documents”  to  “Never”.   Now click the OK button.
