Internet Explorer Unsupported video type or invalid file path? HTML 5

Hello.
First I would like to salute all you people out there that answer questions in these forums. Thank you! They have been more helpful than my Web Design class.
Here is my problem. I cannot get Internet Explorer to play my video files. It says Unsupported video type or invalid file path. I have added the .htaccess file for MIME types, and included .mp4, .ogg, and .webm. I have also included a smaller resolution for mobile. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
Also if anybody could explain to me in an idiot proof way how to add flash support step by step for this site that would be great. I have searched all over the internet, read many tutorials, used the free code makers, and I still cannot get flash to work.
This is my first website, please go easy on me!
Site address is www.mindtrickvp.com
Thanks everybody

  • Launching Microsoft Access from Internet Explorer to view a downloaded MDB file opens the wrong file (not a problem if I use Firefox)

When clicking on a link (in Internet Explorer 9) to download an Access MDB file and then choosing to open the file directly in Microsoft Access (2007) instead of saving it, the file is copied to Temporary Internet Files but Microsoft Access tries to open
a different file and displays an (Unrecognized database format) error.
When I click on the option to open the file, the MDB file is copied to Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 but instead of that file, Access tries to open a different (incorrect) file located in Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO (e.g. in the above error
message, NativeView.do is an XML file containing an error message).
I don't see this problem with Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. When opening a Word file (without saving) the Word file is copied to Content.IE5 but an identical .tmp file is created in Content.MSO which when opened in Microsoft Word displayed the required file
correctly. The same happens for Excel files. PowerPoint appears to be handled a little differently (no .tmp file created in Content.MSO but the required file is still copied to Content.IE5) but the PPT file is still opened correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
I think the Content-Type "application/msaccess" is fine because Internet Explorer does launch Microsoft Access. It just tries to open the wrong file (or so I think). However, it looks like the file type is not being determined. Here is what I noticed
when trying to open different Microsoft Office files using Internet Explorer:
The last one is the MDB file. As you can see, only for this type of file, the "Type" (Microsoft Office Access 2007?) is not displayed in this Open/Save dialog box.
On Firefox, I don't see this problem. When I tried clicking on the link to the MDB file in Firefox, Microsoft Access was launched and the file was opened correctly. Is there something I can do so the MDB file is opened properly using IE? I can add/change headers
in the HTTP response that writes this file to the output stream (on disk) if that helps.
    Thanks for your time!

Sounds like a problem symptom to be discussed in either an IE forum or an Access forum, not here.  How did you come to post here?  ForumsRedesign.  That might be an on-topic issue for this forum.  <eg>
Can you find your way to either of those other forums easily from here?  Another on-topic question for here I think.   ; )

  • Compiling Media invalid file path error when buring a DVD

    Hello,
I have updated to 3.0.2 Premiere Elements and the latest XP Home updates. I had 2.0 and it worked without any problems. I bought 3.0 and have had nothing but problems, I can capture, access files and put a video together but no matter if to file or to DVD I always get this error
    "Burn DVD Progress screen"
    "Compiling Media invalid file path"
then it all stops and nothing.
Any help or suggestions appreciated, I searched the web for this error and found nothing, when I search here I seem to get every Adobe product comes up but no premiere.
    Thank you

I started to do the FAQ to build a clean AVI file. I also re-installed the program, did an update to 3.0.2, defrag. Made sure I had 118gig space. All in order. Still I got the errors. Then I thought perhaps since this pointed to a path that somewhere a path was not correct. So I looked under Preferences - scratch disks - and found they all pointed to the D drive where I had some old Adobe files. It appears the 2.0 version worked when I had the files stored on another partition and 3.0 did not like this. So when I moved everything in Scratch Disk to the same folder on C: where I installed 3.0 things seemed to begin to work.
I tested it by burning to a file and then to an actual DVD and both worked well. I have a quad core chip.
Now the problem seems to be when I edit each end of a clip, "the IN and OUT" the in does not seem to be saved or rendered. When I get to the preview I can still see and hear date prior to the SET IN. I save, re-save and re-render and it still happens. However some clips it works fine.
Thanks again for pointing me in a direction so at least I can start to trouble shoot.

  • Invalid file path when building

Okay so I try to build a DVD folder and once it gets to the "opening project" part I get an error message that says "invalid file path". I'm going to try and burn it later once I get a chance, just wondering if anyone has any insights before I try.
Any help would be great, thanks.

    Ben,
Glad to say (for me), that I have not seen these two errors. Doesn't help you, but I do have one thought. "Invalid File Path," indicates that Encore could not find the path specified. In searching for a solution to that error, I'd check to see if the path, that you designated, exists, exists in the exact spelling that you specify, and that it is available - not on an external that is powered down, not on a network, etc.. Check your spelling religiously. Check your "\'s" your "/'s" and everything about the path. Check in Explorer that the two match, and that that path is available. Put it on an internal HDD and make sure that it is not open in any other program. As a test, Copy a file to it. Open that file. If all goes well, then Delete that test file, before you Export to that folder.
It's probably a matter of dotting the "i's" and crossing the "t's."

  • Invalid file path

After upgrading to encore 2 i uninstalled 1.5 and now there is one project I cant open. Every time I get the error message "invalid file path" and then an exit to the Encore startup menu.
I can see the Encore projet folders with all the files in and nothing seems altered.
    Any suggestions?
    -Jesper

    Great!
    >BTW, 2.0 & 1.5 can coexist happily on your system.
Just to further clarify that statement, note that although this statement is true, Encore 2.0 projects can't be opened in Encore 1.5. Other than that, happy coexistence. :)

  • Invalid File Path Names in Mac OS X

    Hello,
I am trying to create a Javascript in Mac OS X 10.4.11, however I am having some trouble with what characters are valid in file path names in Mac OS X. Does anybody know where I can get a list of invalid characters that cannot be used in a file name?
    Thanks,
    james

Any character other than a colon can be used in the name, but additional characters and names may be handled differently if you are interacting with the UNIX shell in the script.

  • Plug-in PDF, Internet Explorer, unable to open a pdf file from web site. Question mark

    Hello,
A computer where Acrobat 9 Standard and Acrobat Reader 9 have been installed.
When I try to read a pdf file from a web site and read it in IE, I get a popup whith a question mark and no text.
The pdf file is not open.
I have try to reinstall the last reader but the problem is not solved.
    Thanks for your help.
    fabrice

Any ideas how to solve this issue?
Try using Protected Mode Off.  Then you will be at the same level of security that those other programs are running at.  You could also try elevating the iexplore.exe task.  That would turn off Protected Mode in that task automatically but then
you would be running also with Administrator level authority which might be excessive.

  • Still has ORA-20100 Invalid File Path

    I did
    SQL> CREATE DIRECTORY sqllog as 'c:\sqllog';
    SQL> grant write on directory sqllog to public;
    Then on c:\sqllog
    i have a file called sqllog.txt
but still gives the same error

Here is your answer. You have to set your initialization parameter 'UTL_FILE_DIR' to 'C:\SQLLOG\'. You have to bounce the database to do that. You cannot use an 'alter system' command.
    Drop and recreate your directory.
    For example,
    CREATE DIRECTORY log_dir AS 'C:\SQLLOG\'.
/* I am really vary about this privilege. You are better off limiting the privilege to a select few.*/
    GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY log_dir TO PUBLIC;
Make the first parameter to the procedure 'UTIL_FILE.FOPEN' to be 'C:\SQLLOG\'.
It should work and add the word 'NICK' to the file.

  • Jnlp file shown as XML in Internet Explorer

My problem is somewhat complex and have given me a headache while it seem to be a completely erratic behaviour. (Erratic, not over time, but over different computers.)
The main trouble is that I've got two separate webservers serving jnlp files for a production and a test environment. A user can access both servers and there no troubles finding and clicking at jnlp-files. There is however troubles while the jnlp-files in the test environment are shown as XML ("xmltext" in the Internet Explorer way) files.
But only when using Internet Explorer. The problem do not occur when using Netscape and never in the production environment (webserver).
I've triple checked the mimetype configuration of both the webservers and they are ok.
The result of a "get", from both webservers, is (except for the timestamps):
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Server: Netscape-Enterprise/4.1
    Date: Tue, 11 Jun 2002 14:05:32 GMT
    Content-type: application/x-java-jnlp-file
    Last-modified: Tue, 26 Mar 2002 15:58:27 GMT
    Content-length: 1763
    Accept-ranges: bytes
    Connection: close
The client computer is running Win2000, Internet Explorer v5.50 and a newly installed JavaWebStart.
Well, there are more to it. This behaviour is for some users at the company. There are users that can, with no problem, run the application deployed at the webserver in the test environment.
A user who can not load jnlp-files in the test environment using his computer, can be able to load the program at another computer as he logs in.
Is there anyone who can help me out with this one?
How come the user(s) at a computer (and one login account) have different Internet Explorer behaviour when getting a jnlp file from two seperate webservers (using same webserver mime setup) when other users (computers) don't?

I've seen a lot of messages concerning the response of the webserver in posts of this JWS&JNLP forum. Some people gives the advise to use telnet to get the server response. I've used this code (based upon some free sun code in some tutorial trail I think it was).

  • Black border around my flash video in internet explorer

The website that I built, I used Adobe media encoder and flash to make it a .flv file, the website works fine as far as playing the pages with video in Safari and Firefox, when I go to the same website in internet explorer the video plays with a big black border each of my video's, why would that be ? if you have internet explorer the site is dreamdigitalmedia.com
    thanks

I watched your Chigago Public School and Ogsby Funiture commercials in IE 7 , and didn't see any black borders.
Videos seemed to play fine; although the following error popped up each time:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.
I responded to the error by hitting the 'continue'  button; and it did allow me to play the vids; but you'll probably want to check this out.

Ever since I upgraded our 10.5 server to 10.6 (currently running 10.6.8 update 1.1, users have been unable to watch videos that were added to the blog server using Internet Explorer.  We tried them on a bunch of various Windows machines but the videos will not play.  They play just fine when viewing on Firefox and Safari.  Any ideas?

Here is an example of a video that works well in Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but not Internet Explorer.

    Hi manikanth_r,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Internet Explorer on Windows phone cannot upload files by design, like masterpeura mentioned. If you need to send attachments, it's recommended to use the phone email client. Please see here for instructions on how to set up an email account on your phone.
    Hope this helps,

  • Activex (.ocx) file does not install unless installed through Internet Explorer

Please fix this Adobe... I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out why it was not installing the activex (.ocx) file when I installed it through firefox or chrome. Low and behold if you install it through Internet Explorer than it installs the activex file. Other programs use the activex (.ocx) file.

It doesn't matter if you download the installers from Firefox, or IE, or whatever browser.
    There are two installers:
one for IE that installs the ActiveX control
one for other browsers that installs the plugin
You can download the offline installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#Ins tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment

I have built a site to include training videos with a composition widget (lightbox) in Muse CC.
My site plays well on Firefox and Chrome, but in Internet Explorer the video pops out and plays on my Windows Media Player.  I had my team test in IE and they had the same issue.
Is there anything that I can do so that the videos only play in the compostion and in iframe and will not pop up?
EX: Full-Time School Programs | FuelEd Training Team
If you open the site in FF / Chrome, it works well.  If you open in IE, a separate pop-up window plays the video.

The link provided does not work anymore , please provide correct link as well more details in case you are facing same issue.
This can be related to browser plugin installed.

please guide me where i did wrong and what should i answer to my client regarding above issue.
I hope, could you please clearly given points.

    Hi,
Firstly, you should not give the host name and port name of the URLs that you are using. It is your company's security issue.
And the message that you get for the wsdl , when you open in IE is nothing wrong.
The wsdl can be of two types. One is a design time wsd, where you will just see the structure, importing and exporting parameters. It does not have the binding parameters within the wsdl.
When the same wsdl is implemented, then it has a binding with the backend system. It becomes a runnable entity. The wsdl generated from your PI system is one such entity (It is tied to a backend and is a runnable web service). Hence IE shows that message.
    Best Regards,
    Ravikanth Talagana
