Internet video sound takes long to play on Safari

Hello everyone,
Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite my Safari has been giving me problems with playing sound. It takes it about 30 secs to 1 min of only playing for it to just start giving audio. Has anyone else encountered this problem too? and, could you solve it and how?
Thank you for your answers.

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button.
Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Download it first.
The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
Enable it.
3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Press the button “ Remove All Website Data”.

• Video playlists no longer auto-playing (4.3)

I've noticed that my music video playlists no longer auto-play from one song to the the next with the latest OS update (iPhone 4.3, Apple TV 4.2). Basically, a music video stops and the next one doesn't start until I press play again.
Any solutions?

I have the same problem.
I am using an iPhone 4 (iOS 4.3) and various Apple TVs (4.2).
When i start a playlist with music videos from the iTunes store, the first video will be played on the Apple TV and then Apple TV plays this Video again but "repeat" is not selected. Actually the next clip in the list shut be played. Seems to be a bug :-(

• CS5 Video Clip no longer auto plays

Hi,
I have a video player that I'm creating in Flash -- my video clips are on different scenes and I wanted a "menu" bar to allow the viewer to pick which scene they wanted. I found tutorials for various scrolling thumbnail menu bars and I eventually found a code which allowed me to click from scene to scene.
However, now that the menu bar works, the video clips do not automatically play anymore and I'm not sure why.
This is the link to my file: http://www.mediafire.com/?y7oofbwg444lnp8
I only have one action script on the scene, which is the top layer that has [AS]stop();[/AS]
I have two buttons on either side of the video clip:
[AS]on (press) {
nextScene(); play();
}[/AS]
[AS]
on (press) {
gotoAndPlay("SI", 1);
[/AS]
This is the coding for the scrolling menu bar:
Frame 1:

// Okay... First let's set some variables......

Then inside the thumbnail, to make it serve as a button:
[AS]on (rollOver) {
button2.gotoAndPlay(2);
on (rollOut) {
button2.gotoAndPlay(16);
on (release) {
// You can assign an actionscript to each Button in here:
_level0.gotoAndPlay("my_target1");
}[/AS]
Thanks!

you need to remove:
gotoAndPlay (2)
so your video can play. you've embedded your flv into your timeline so it only plays when the timeline plays and that goto is preventing the timeline from playing.
of course, if you remove that the thumbnail code won't work.
bottomline: your project code is a mess and using an flv in a timeline is not what you should be doing.
you should have no code attached to objects, no frame loops and no flvs embedded in a timeline. you should attach your code to a timeline, user an enterframe loop and use an flvplayback component to play your flv(s).

• Iphone 5 / iOS 6.0 bug: Video sound no longer playing in lock screen

Hi,
With my iPhone 4 I was able to listen so the sound of a video, even if I went to the lock screen. With my iPhone 5 and iOS 6.0 this is no longer possible. When I start e.g., a music video in the video app and
then go to the lock screen, the video an sounds stops. A double click on the home button shows the play button, but if pressed, the sound of the video won't play. If I press the forward / rewind button, a track of the music player will start to play. With previous versions listening to videos was possible while being on the lock screen / screen was turned off. Is there a fix for this bug? Has anyone the same problems? Would be great to listen to my music videos again...
Bye
Chris

I'm having the same problem. Incredibly frustrating as this was a major use of the iphone when I had IOS5.
Apple, please fix this!

• HT4528 Video sound no longer plays with screen off with ios 6. Is this feature no longer supported?

On IOS 5 on my iphone 4 32GB I used to be able to start playing a downloaded iTunes video, hit the power button, double tap the home button, and then start the audio portion of the video playing. This no longer works in IOS 6. Is this no longer a supported feature, or is this a bug?

Having the same problem. Very frustrating! Hoping Apple can fix soon!

• Videos and Music will not play using Safari or Chrome

I have tried every trouble shooting option I can find on the internet. Nothing is working. Adobe is fully updated. Safari is fully updated. Chrome is fully updated. Videos will not play on websties such as CNN, CBC. Music will not play on websites such as Sound Cloud.
YouTube and Netflix work fine.

You're dealing with two different plug-ins.
Flash Player (Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/Flash Player.plugin)
and "PepperFlash" (Applications/Google Chrome.app/Contents/Versions/34.0.1847.116/Google Chrome Framework.framework/Internet Plug-Ins/PepperFlash/PepperFlashPlayer.plugin)
And NetFlix uses the Microsoft SilverLight plug-in.
From SoundCloud support:
Why can't I hear tracks using Safari?
If you can't hear tracks on SoundCloud using Safari, please go to Safari ---> Preferences ---> Advanced ---> and un-check "Stop plugins to save power." Like this:
If YouTube works, it may be doing so in HTML5 mode which requires no plug-in. Do you use Apple's Firewall or (please say you don't) anti-virus?

• Youtube videos won't completely load / play in safari - (OK in firefox tho)

So whenever I try to play a youtube video, it'll partially buffer, and only about the first quarter to half of the video will play.
This was the case in Safari 2.whatever and Tiger, and is still the case with Safari 3 and Leopard.
Here's the weird part: everything works just fine in Firefox.
Help! I actually like Safari more, and it's annoying to have to switch browsers.

Hi
The "repair permissions" is an important step after installing Flash. Just wanted to make sure you had done so.
In your Finder: Go to Your User Account>Library>Preferences>Macromedia>Flash Player>#Shared Objects>etc. In the last folder you'll see YouTube entries at the bottom of the list. Delete them, then restart the computer/Safari.
Once in Safari, empty cache again. Plus, also remove the YouTube cookies. Then try YouTube again.

• My iPad will not play sounds on certain applications. ie: if I click on a video from FB sound will not play. If I go to YouTube and play the same video sound will play. Also certain games will no longer play sounds. They always played sounds but now won't

My iPad will not play sounds on certain applications. ie: if I click on a video from FB sound will not play. If I go to YouTube and play the same video sound will play. Also certain games will no longer play sounds. They always played sounds but now won't now. I just went to my churches web site to watch live service and again no sound. I grabbed my dads iPad and the sound works fine.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

• Can't play sounds on videos when using 'Facebook', music plays

On my wife's iPad she cannot hear sound from video clips when in 'Facebook', but she can hear sound when she opens iTunes. Any help, suggestions?

Sorry I don't. It just happens at random and usually most YouTube videos and other similar styled videos. I'm not really a tech guy but it just seems like there is something else going on. Everything else on my PC works fine except when I want to open a video using flash. It isn't just one site or one video it is nearly every flash video and it's almost like they're loading one at a time except in no order if there is more than one tab. Even if it is just one video, it takes a long time to load.
Imagine going to YouTube to load up a vid and the controls or progrss bar never load, it just stops and only a solid black box is displayed. Eventually the controls load and it seems like it's about to play at any moment.. only the waiting lasts 5 minutes. Even if you refresh it still has to do this all over again.

• Internet Audio will no longer Play Through USB Output to hi-fi Amplifier & Speakers

My audio output jack on my Mac G4 is broken. I have been taking audio out of the computer by USB into a device that converts the audio so it can be used with a traditional amplifier and speakers. This presently, still works fine for audio or audio/video sources that are stored on my hard drive. Yesterday, I was looking at a youtube video embedded on a non-youtube site. Both audio and video were working fine.Then the audio stopped working. I went to the youtube site and no audio worked there either. I have tried myspace and other sources with audio/video, but no longer will audio from the internet, play on the USB system. Any player on the hard drive will produce audio through the USB port to the amplifier system. If I switch the Mac OS X.4.11 system preferences to select the internal speakers for the output destination, I can get audio from the internet again. Then everything from the internet or the computer plays through the internal speakers. I have Safari and Firefox Browsers. I need to be able to play music from the internet through the USB port to my amplifier and speakers. One suggestion I researched was to trash the Macromedia preferences and then restart the browser. I tried that to no avail. Hopefully, somebody out there knows what happened and can tell me how to fix it.

Hi BD,
Thanks for saving me. And thanks for responding so quickly. Your answer was there when I got up. For me 48 hours was a long time to go without that function.
I had seen one reference to the audio midi setup app and had looked at it but somehow only saw the midi devices dialog box which I had dealt with in the past. After your post I went back to it and I immediately discovered that there is also an audio devices dialog box.
From the drop-down menu I selected 44100.0 hz int the format field on the output (right) side of the dialog box.
Also the Default Ouput and the System Output fields had built-in audio selected instead of iMic USB audio system. I used the drop-down menus to switch them back.
So watching the youtube video imbedded on a non-youtube site must have changed those settings.
Any idea why that would have happened?
Now, I'm wondering if the little iMic USB audio system which converts the digital signal to analog line level out is actually a little midi device? Well, maybe not since there is no midi plug involved. I have seen that setting (44.0 Khz) relating to CDs I think. I'm guessing that 44.0 Khz and 44100.0 hz are very close to being exactly the same thing.
So does 44.0 Khz = line level (analog audio)?
Anyway, BD, Thanks again for solving my problem and doing it so quickly. What a relief!
Have a great 4th of July holiday weekend,

• Zen micro - takes so long to play the next s

Hello,
I just got a Zen Micro and I am thinking of returning it tomorrow because it takes so long to play one song, then skip to another. I press forward song or backward, or I jump to another album and press to play another song and sometimes I have to wait up to 0 seconds until the next songs starts to play - very annoying. Often I wait at last 5 seconds. Do you experience this? Can anything be done? This is not acceptable.
Thanks, Holden

I am the one who started this thread and have some information about why I was experiencing this problem.
A friend of mine who turned me on to the Zen Micro never experienced the problem I was experiencing - waiting too long to skip from one song to another. He suggested that my Micro might be defecti've. So I returned it and got another one.
I returned it, went home and updated the firmware and again loaded it with tons of songs using Napster-to-go. Nothing changed - it still would sometimes take several seconds to jump from one song to another (****it would play straight through play lists and albums without a hitch though).
I decided to keep the Micro because it is such a cool device and appeals to me much more than the iPod.
Glad I did. Last night I started ripping my CD collection and put it on to the Micro. I listened to some of the songs and noticed I could jump around from track to track without any delay.
I only experience the delay using the Napster-to-go service. I guess there's some small piece of code in the PlaysForSure update that checks to see if the tracks are legal or not. That's my guess.
The Micro is amazing - sounds amazing, looks amazing, the navigation is amazing. And it works with Napster-to-go perfectly (well except for the short delay that I've described).
Thanks to everyone for your comments.

• IMac: Internet Videos Play but Don't Appear

Like the title says, any videos on the internet don't appear. They play--I can hear the sound-track--but their is no picture. Doesn't matter is the site is an Apple instructional video or YouTube.
The page loads and I cen hear the sound, but no picture.
Thoughts?

Yeah, haven't gotten around to updating the profile.
Here's the deal: had an older iMac that NEVER worked right. It was like a '90s vintage PC--slow, froze constantly, didn't work with other Apple products (i.e, iPod, iTunes, iCloud). Upgraded software and everyother fix suggested, but to no avail. Can't tell you how many times I dragged that machine into the Genius Bar.
I used to call it my "dumb box" and had no idea why Apple users were so in love with the products since the one I was using didn't do anything all these other Apple users claimed they could do. Very frustrating.
After years of trouble, and a call to Cuppertino, finally got a master tech to run a full diagnoses on the beast. Found out it had always had a logic board problem from the day it came out of the original wrapping. It literally was a dumb box!
Anyway, Apple did the right thing and swapped me out of the machine for a new iMac running 10.8 and now everything works like it's supposed to with no problems. Now I understand why Apple users are such fanatics.
That's why I was so surprised when this little glitch appeared for no reason.
The reboot worked, btw. And I have Flash Player installed. I'll update the profile today, but hopefully won't be on the Boards often.
Thanks for the help.

No sound when accessing internet video (i.e. youtube, Skype, flash, etc). It says I am missing a driver but not sure where to get it without paying $30 for something that shouldnt be missing in the first place.

Hi,
Try the following.
Download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if the videos play Ok - if they do, close Firefox, open IE and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component. When done, restart IE.

• Phone speakers stopped playing music or video sound?

Phone speakers won't play music, game or video sound. Headphone jack, Bluetooth & docking stations work fine. Ringtones work. Reset phone but didn't solve problem

Hello Abbercrombie,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
Have a nice day,
