Introduction of User Interfaces in SAP CRM

Can someone tell the progression on how the SAP CRM  User interfaces (UI) were launched? for example, which  CRM versions supported which UIs (PCUI, WEBUI etc)
Thanks
or else, is there a documentation that provides differences and commonalities between CRM UIs

Hi,
concerning CRM User Interfaces it is very simple:
1. WebClient UI: is the only supported User Interface for Users since CRM 5.1 and this is also the way forward from SAP point-of-view. SAP keeps investing in improving the WebClient UI for CRM in the coming releases.
2. SAP GUI: is only used for Adminstrative tasks, customizing and developments in CRM.
3. PCUI: is no longer supported since CRM 5.1
Kind regards,
Carl

  • Number for bDocs processed per hour in custom interface to SAP CRM from Tibco

    Hello Experts,
    Could you please let me know the ideal Number for bDocs processed per hour for a interface which has SAP CRM and TIBCO.
    The intent is to use to most easy to scale technology for a custom interface to SAP CRM from Tibco .
    I did check the forums but was not able to get a definitive answer.
    I understand that it is not possible to quantify the exact number of BDocs that can be processed in an hour,but could you please let me know the factors on which it depends.
    Regards,
    Akash

    It depends on type of data you want to process and the size of your hardware.  My rule of thumb is that you should be able to do at least 1 BDOC per second in a worst case scenario or 3600 records for a small size system.  Keep in mind the biggest bottleneck is the database update/lookup times.  A properly sized large system, could do much more volume.  Your best bet is put in the desired transactional throughput into the SAP quicksizer and then work with your SAP hardware partner to approriately size your production box.
    If you already have hardware for production bought/existing, then find out the current SAPS rating for your hardware and then use the quicksizer to determine the target SAPS needed to meet your requirements.
    Take care,

  • FAQ: User Interface Guidelines for CRM 2007 are now available

    The CRM UI Concept Team has made the UI Guidelines for CRM Web Client User Interface (CRM 2007 UI) available to the BPX community:
    This document provides an overview of the on-premise as well as the off-premise versions of the SAP CRM Web Client User Interface (UI). It contains the properties and principles of the SAP CRM Web Client UI that are already committed and available. For planned features, refer to the corresponding specification documents.
    The information in the guidelines starts with general topics, followed by details. The sections are organized with high-level topics like Page Types and Navigation Schema first, followed by the consecutive sections describing which building blocks and elements of the UI populate the various pages. A section typically starts with one or more screenshots of a central UI element with a generic explanation. The subsequent sections explain the detailed aspects of each element.
    We hope that you will find this information useful.

    Hi,
    how can i know the available users exits for the tcode crmd_order i.e for the program SAPCRM_10_manag_ui in sap crm 4.
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,
    I recommend you to set a breakpoint in CL_EXITHANDLER class in GET_INSTANCE method.  (se80 tcode)
    Enter to CRMD_ORDER and evaluate the exit_name value in order to see the possible BADIs.
    CALL METHOD cl_exithandler=>get_class_name_by_interface

  • Finding and Implementing User Exits in SAP CRM 2007 Web Gui

    I will appreciate any information about this topic.
    Thanx in advanced.

    What I need to know is the following...
    Through the WEB GUI I modified a BP Mktg Attributes and two BDOCs are triggered: CHARVAL_MSG
    and MKTPROF_MSG. But if no changes are made to the BP principal data BUPA_MAIN is not triggered so what I need to know is how can I Enhance BP Web GUI TX(Screen) to always modify a field... this way BUPA_MAIN will always be triggered.
    I have already Enhanced CRM XIF BUPA IDOC to send MKTG Attributes.

  • SAP CRM 5.2 user authentication using active directory

    hi,
    we have a need to authenticate users logging in SAP CRM 5.2 based on active directory user name and password.
    scenario is such that users should be able to use their window's logon credentials for logging into SAP CRM 5.2
    any ideas or pointers will be appreciated
    thank you.

    RH,
    Actually you can do this, but you need a third party product like SECUDE, or other provider to accomplish this without using the portal.  I think even with the portal it still might require some type of plugin or work.
    You basically have to setup your CRM system to accept SAP logon tickets, and then the authenticating system needs to an issue an SAP Logon ticket.
    So yes it can be done, but requires more software than what is delivered with your SAP system.

  • ICI - How to display custom error messages in SAP CRM

    Hello,
    we are working on a custom Contact Center which interfaces with SAP CRM Version 7 with Enhancement Package over ICI.
    The basic call functions like accepting, hanging up, holding and retrieving are fully implemented and are working already.
    Our goal is to display error messages in the CRM so that clients know there is something wrong, for example why he can't be log in successfully (e.g. the telephony server isn't reachable).
    We already found the ICI Documentation file which provides us the CRM SOAP error codes and tried to send SOAP Fault messages, but never got
    them to screen.
    Please find an attached example screenshot what we mean exactly, reproduced by trying to make a call with CRM user while BCM CDT isn't
    running in the background.
    Regarding to this topic we've the following questions:
    - Is it possible to display custom error messages on the CRM or is this functionality limited to SAP?
    - Could you provide us some further information on how to use this feature exactly (implementation details?) and how the SOAP XML should look like to get it work?
    Thank you in advance!

    I need to create an entity adapter and attach an error handler with the adapter? or can i handle that in the event handler itself. I coulnt find any api for handling errorsYou can do it both ways but since we are talking about event handler now, then in 9.x you need to extend com.thortech.xl.client.events.tcBaseEvent class for creating a event handler. In tcBaseEvent class there are various flavors of handleError method. So use that as per my note earlier and you should be good.

  • Filter on product search in SAP CRM 2007 User Interface

    Hi Experts,
    I have the following requirement: we need to have the possibility to filter the Products in the Product search in the user interface based on the User's sales organization. Meaning that, if a user belongs to Sales Organization A, he will be able to see ONLY the products belonging to sales organization A.
    Can anybody of you Experts, suggest a way to implement this via standard SAP and not via an enhancment if possible?
    Thanks in advance to all of you.

    Hi Michele,
    maybe have a look at BAdIs COM_PRODUCT_SEARCH and COM_PRODUCT_SE. Did not try them myself but they are for enhancing searches in product.

  • Fields default on SAP CRM 2007 User Interface

    Hi Experts!
    I need to have a field in the search screen of products on the User Interface alsways prefilled to a default value for all the users.
    I haven't figured out how to do this via Component Configuration, but only via enhancment.
    Can you please suggest whether there is a standard way to do it?
    thanks

    HI Michele,
    As far as my understanding, there is no standard way of configuration for this. Enahncement would be the possible option, i understand that you have already done this.
    One option u have is the Working context in CRM 2007. this is role specific and it is predefined attributes that can be defaulted.

  • How to add a new Field to the WEB User Interface in CRM 2007

    Dear experts,
    I have been struggling to add a new field to the (CRM 2007) user interface from available fields for a specific view.
    I have maintained settings in BS__WD_CMPWBàRuntime Repository editoràComponentàViewàConfigurationàNew ConfigurationàAvailable FieldsàField Propertiesàand save.
    But the field is only appearing in display mode in the Web UI, which doesnu2019t allows any user input.
    I need your help to resolve the issue, I would be grateful if you could provide step-by-step documentation with screenshots or any other kind of documentation.
    Each suggestion will be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Raghu ram.

    Hi Raghu Ram,
    I think you added a new custom field using some method like EEWB etc.,
    Then, you are adding the field onto the UI using UI Configuration Tool .. right ?
    These are the steps to diagnose:
    Method 1.Check the field properties in the model browser first.
      It should be showing 'C' i.e., CHANGEABLE. If it is showing as 'R', it is only READABLE.
      In such a case you need to find a BADI to change the field properties.
      For example, in Marketing Applications OBJ BADI has a method CHANGE FIELD PROPERTIES for this purpose.
    Method 2. Debug and check what is the value coming for RV_DISABLED parameter in the GET_I method in BSP_WD_CMPWB. This should be FALSE.
    Method 3. Check what are the field properties in the UI Configuration tool.
    Make sure it is not a display only field.

  • Forwarded successfully the workitem for BO-BUS2000220(complaint) in the worklist of other user: Problem in "Sent date"  not reflecting correctly in SAP CRM 7.0 Web UI

    I am working with SAP CRM 7.0. We have a workflow in the system which is triggered at the creation of complaint(BO:BUS2000220) and then assign the complaint workitem
    in the woklist of specified agent. I have created a report and scheduled it daily to forward the complaint into the worklist of user B from worklist of user A after 7 days
    from creation date of complaint. But the problem is that the forwarded complaint is showing in the worklist of user B with sent date(the creation date of complaint, not the
    forwarded date).
    Relevant code:

                TABLES
    MESSAGE_LINES  = lv_mesg
    * MESSAGE_STRUCT =

    ENDIF.
    Can someone help me how to change the sent date to actual forwarded date of complaint.

    Hi Kavita,
    There is a standard column in UWL with name 'Sent Date'. Other functionalities in UWL for example deadline monitoring (Due date column) are based on this sent date. This shows an employee what was the date workitem was created (sent date) and when it will get escalated (due date). Displaying forwarding date in Sent date will not give clear picture to employee as the deadline will be calculated based on sent date only not based on forwarding date. this was just an example.
    even though if your client is insisting, i dont think it can be done without any enhancement in UWL web dynpro com sort of thing. you can check with your portal consultant too.

    Ibrahim

  • Traffic Lights - SAP CRM 7 - User's Inbox

    Hi All,
    How can we configure trafic lights for transactions displayed in the users inbox ( SAP CRM 7).
    Are the traffic lights controlled by the due date in the date profile ?
    What is logic used by the system to assign colors to each of the transactions ? CAn this logic be controlled or changed ?
    Any help/guidance on how to configure traffic lights will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers
    SS

    Hi Subu,
    You can refer out of the box traffic lights functionality in component view CRMCMP_GS_WC/TodaysTasks . Look at method GET_P_DUE under context node RESULTNEW.
    First system calculates the variable gv_due_value using the following code.
    rv_value = get_due_value( lr_entity ).
    gv_due_value = rv_value.
    Within method GET_DUE_VALUE system compares task date with current date to determine if it overdue.
    IF sy-datlo GT lv_date_to.
        rv_value = gc_due-overdue.
      ELSEIF sy-datlo EQ lv_date_to.
        rv_value = gc_due-due_today.
      ELSE.
        rv_value = gc_due-due_later.
      ENDIF.
    After this,  the following code in GET_P_DUE method sets traffic light.
    wa_due-value = rv_value.
            CASE rv_value.
              WHEN '1'.
                wa_due-url = cl_thtmlb_util=>get_icon_url( 'overDue_1.gif' ).
                wa_due-otr = cl_wd_utilities=>get_otr_text_by_alias( 'CRM_UIU_BT_ACTIVITY/OVERDUE' ).
              WHEN '2'.
                wa_due-url = cl_thtmlb_util=>get_icon_url( 'due_1.gif' ).
                wa_due-otr = cl_wd_utilities=>get_otr_text_by_alias( 'CRM_UIU_BT_ACTIVITY/DUE_TODAY' ).
              WHEN '3'.
                wa_due-url = cl_thtmlb_util=>get_icon_url( 'notDue_1.gif' ).
                wa_due-otr = cl_wd_utilities=>get_otr_text_by_alias( 'CRM_UIU_BT_ACTIVITY/DUE_LATER' ).
              WHEN OTHERS.
                wa_due-url = cl_thtmlb_util=>get_icon_url( '1x1.gif' ).
                wa_due-otr = cl_wd_utilities=>get_otr_text_by_alias( 'CRM_UIU_BT_ACTIVITY/COMPLETED' ).

  • Navigation Bar & Work areas not appearing in CRM Webclient User Interface.

    Dear all,
    We are into SAP CRM 6.0 implementation. I have created a new Business role (ZIC_Agent) copying the standard one IC_Agent
    I have assigned default layout profile, role key and the assigned navigation bar profile is ZIC_Agent, which is copied form standard navigation bar profile (IC_Agent).
    I have assigned the role to a Org unit in the Organization Model.
    But when I try to execute the Webclient UI, it is not showing the Navigation bar and work area in the screen, whereas it is working absolutely fine with another standard business role (Servicepro) which has already been assigned in the system.
    I could not understand that, why I am getting this error.
    I request you to help me in resolving the issue. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Best regards
    Edited by: Raghu Ram on Feb 25, 2009 7:43 AM

    Hi Raghu Ram,
    To do a quick testing if the business role is working properly, assign it to your user directly in transaction SU01.
    Add parameter CRM_UI_PROFILE in SU01 for your user and give your Zbusiness role in the value (all caps).
    If this is still not working, check the pfcg role that is assigned to the Business role and regenerate the authorizations. You can do this in transaction PFCG.
    This should solve your problem.

    Padma
