'Invalid Dim' error during dynamic dim building
Hi Folks,
I am trying to update an outline using my own dim rules file and data .txt file, but i get an error in the dimbuild log file saying "\\Column 7 - Invalid Dimension" What could be the reason for this? The outline already contains 5 standard dims (i.e. Customer, Period, Account, Scenario and Year) and 2 more attribute dims. My goal is to add some new members to the existing Account dim. My data file looks like this:
Account,Metrics,,O,~
Metrics, Avg_Wolverines_Juggled, Average Wolverines Juggled, S,~
Metrics, Avg_Dropped_Wolverines, Average Dropped Wolverines, S,~
Metrics,Headcount,,S,~
In the data-prep editor I have created a .rul file that has 6 columns (fields). The first field I created by mistake, so I have set it to 'ignore field..' under 'dim build properties'. The next 5 fields map correctly to the way I have arranged my data file, i.e Parent0, Account Child0, Account Alias0, Account Property0, Account Property0, Account
This .rul file validates correctly, but when I try to update the outline, I get the "\\Column 7 - Invalid Dimension" error log message. The log msg says that the data file contains an error, but may have partially loaded data. However, I don't see a SINGLE new member added to the outline..
In terms of settings, everything under 'Dim Build Properties' seems fine. i.e. for each field the correct dim type (e.g. Parent, Child, Alias, or Property) and dim name (i.e. Account) is selected. However, under 'Dim Build Settings', when i try to choose 'Account' as the dim name, it reverts back to the name of the first dim in the outline (i.e. Customer) whenever I close/reopen 'Dim Build Settings' This happens even though I do a double-click and make sure 'Account' is shown in Blue before closing out of 'Dim Build Settings' Could this have something to do with the error I am getting? I have also made sure that the 'Build Method' is correct (i.e. Parent/Child references) for the two main dim fields. As per my understanding, for alias and properties fields, the Build Method doesn't matter.
I apologize for the long question, but would really appreciate some help.
thanks,
Akshay
Ah good old wolvering Juggling. The problem is they will bite you if you are not careful. (It's a nice metaphor for essbase). learning from Edwards book I see.
your file looks like it only has five columns and you say you created a sixth column that you set to ignore. The message indicates there is a 7th column. Open your load rule and your data file and see if in fact there is a trailing column. Also, make sure you set the dimension build properties for the account dimension to be parent/child

Error message "ABAP/4 error during dynamic assign" on Contact Log creation.
Hi,
We are getting an error message "ABAP/4 error during dynamic assign beyond program bounds" displayed while creating contact log using transaction "BCT0".
Please suggest what can be the cause of the error message and how we can remove this.

The problem should be caused by obsolete entry in table TFAWX.
Please use the following report for deleting this entry (test before in your TEST System) :

Hi All ,
I was just clearing the dimensions using the below in SQL commandline throwing below error . However this works fine with my another 5 dimensions .Any advice ?
SQL> exec dbms_cube.build('POSITION using (clear, compile)');
BEGIN dbms_cube.build('POSITION using (clear, compile)'); END;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-37162: OLAP error
XOQ-01703: error during parse of build process script: "BUILD POSITION using

ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CUBE", line 280
ORA-06512: at line 1
Thanks,
DxPI believe in this case the parser that is parsing the build process script is treating the dimension name "POSITION" as a keyword and not as an OLAP Cube Dimension name. You may wish to rename the dimension to a name other than "POSITION" or double quotes as specified previously.

ORA-01722: invalid number - Error during implicit conversion (10g vls 11g)
I am facing oracle error for few SELECT queries in 11g which were working fine in 10g environment.
Oracle Version:
10g - 10.2.0.5.0
11g - 11.2.0.3.0
We are storing numeric values under CHAR or VARCHAR2 column in few tables. This is known design issue & it can't be changed for now.
I know this will work fine until all the data is numeric in those columns for respective table. Because by some reason, if any row got character value for that column then implicit string to number conversion will fail and this error can occur. But I have verified that there is no data issue.
But I can see difference in the execution plan! But not able to recognize the reason issue.
Any other pointers on why the queries are failing in 11g would be of great help..
Example SQL:
Note that table structure and data is same in both the environments.

-- Executes when value is passed as character.
SELECT * FROM LC_LOCATIONS WHERE productid = '75';The problem doesn't appear to be related to the Oracle version, at least not directly. If your query plan does the string to number conversion before eliminating the rows that have non-numeric data, you'll get an error. If the query plan eliminates the rows that have non-numeric data before doing the conversion, the query will succeed. It is entirely possible that you'd get the "bad" plan in 10g or the "good" plan in 11g.
You can capture the query plans from your 10g database and move them over to the 11g database. Oracle has a nice white paper on upgrading from 10g to 11g that walks you through that process.
Of course, you really don't want to be dependent on the optimizer picking the "right" plan, you really want to fix the underlying data model issue.

Getting error during Dynamic sql
Hi,
I'm facing issue with dynamic sql.My aim in the following code is to get count from the table, if pattern "xyz" exits for past 5 mins.
I'm getting the following error
ORA-01006: bind variable does not exist

li_count number :=0;
sql_var varchar2(2000):=null;

DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(sql_var);
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_var into li_count using lv;
DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(li_count);
end;
I went for dynamic sql since i could not put my vairable in side , as follow
like lower ('%lv%'). If i put instead of search for "xyz" it will search for variable name itself as "lv"
Thanks in advance for your help
KannanYou don't need to use dynamic SQL in this case. Try the following (untested):
DECLARE
lv varchar2(10):='xyz';
li_count number :=0;
BEGIN
SELECT COUNT(1) INTO li_count
FROM wms_trace
WHERE LOWER(MSG_TEXT) LIKE '%' || LOWER(lv) || '%'
AND create_dt> sysdate - 0.083333/24
END; -

[Apple store submission] Invalid binary error
Hi,
While submitting to apple store i am getting invalid binary error.
The app builds fine and runs on my iPhone fine. When I try to build
the Distribution app, it builds fine with no errors, but when I look
at my build log, I do have the CodeSign entry, but there is no log
entry for ProcessingProductPackaging part, so the
embedded.mobileprovision file does not exist.
Not getting what is the problem. Not able to submitt application for apple store.
Thanks,
Ganesh Pisal
Vavni, Inc.Be sure to follow these steps under Verifying a Successful Distribution Build in the Portal:
_If your project is lacking any of the above files or pointing to the wrong directory, do the following:_
1. Select the Target and open the Build Settings Inspector. Confirm you are in the Distribution Configuration.
2. Delete the Code Signing Identity: iPhone Distribution: COMPANYNAME
3. In the Xcode Build Menu, select Clean all Targets.
4. Delete any existing build directories in your Xcode project using Finder.
5. Re-launch Xcode and open your Project.
6. Re-enter the code-signing identity iPhone Distribution: COMPANYNAME in the Target Build Settings Inspector.
7. Rebuild your Project.
Strange as these steps may seem, they worked for me last time I had your problem (e.g. why delete all the build directories if you already cleaned all targets? And why re-enter the exact code-signing identity you just deleted?? Just do it!).
If you've never successfully submitted this app before, I would also suggest you redo all of the steps under +Building your Application with Xcode for Distribution+, especially filling in the +Code Signing Provisioning Profile+. On my first try I filled in the wrong line, and it took all night to find the problem.
If none of the abpve helps, take a look at Doug Lerner's recent thread: [http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1940036&tstart=105]. I think Doug's embedded.mobileprovision file was present so his problem was different from yours, but you might find some helpful clues in the discussion.
Btw, I've never heard of anyone getting this process right on the first try. It's not meant to be easy. Consider it to be an examination. I.e. to place your app in the store, it's not sufficient to have simply learned how to develop the software. -

Right, I am aware of the IDE plugin functionality (BTW, I'm going to guess no, but is the functionality present in the "Express" editions?). When a viewer application is created in VS, you can convert/open it in #d and have all of the designer props/pages available. When manually adding the viewer in a new #d project, you can add it, but it doesn't show up visually in the forms designer window (boggle).
> So just make a simple report and try to view it. can you see it?
I will investigate this probably tomorrow...
> Also is your report have any parameter? Dynamic or static?
Yes, there are parameters embedded (?) in the .rpt. There are no parameters added at runtime; only the parameter values are set at runtime.

When I create an EJB Transport Business Service, after selecting the jar that has the EJB 2.1 artefacts (Remote, Home, etc) the oepe plugin fails and can't continue.
As I understand it seems that there is a problem with the classpath of ant build.xml that oepe creates inside folder /tmp/alsbejbtransport/ to compile the bs and generate the wsdl. I checked if tools.jar is in the classpath (in eclipse) and is included, so I can't figure out wich is the problem.
I found this in Oracle, but not helps solve the problem:
