Invalid registration key

I bought QuickTime Pro some time ago. When go to "QuickTime Player" - "Registration" and enter my Key and hit return, I get a "Invalid Registration" notice. I´ve retrived my key from the apple store and re entered with the same results. Can some one help ???

No, the fact that you're running 7.5 will not be a problem. A QuickTime 7 key will work with all versions of QuickTime 7. Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
Also, as Niel indicated, make sure you purchased a key for the correct platform (Windows or Mac). QuickTime keys are not cross-platform.

  • Invalid registration key to install Quicktime 7 Pro

Just bought this product and the Windows support center won't be open until Tuesday and I wanted to start working on some products. Several calls to tech support and they keep sending me to the office that is not open this weekend.
    Dell   Windows XP

First. Make sure you've downloaded the most recent release of the QuickTime Player.
Open the email you received from Apple and use copy/paste to enter the registration info in the QuickTime Control Panel.
Make sure "salutations" (Ms. Miss. or Mr.) are used in the name.
It is too easy to manually enter a letter 0 where a 0 (zero) was used.

  • Quicktime Pro Windows - Invalid Registration

Hi, I couldn't find anything about this, so I'm trying here. Mods, please move in the right area.
I bought a QuickTime Pro key for Windows back in 2004. It's no longer appearing in my order history and apparently Apple got rid of the purchased software page that had the key.
I do have my old email for it but when I enter that information it says "invalid registration key"
Anyone have any ideas what to do? I can't seem to contact Apple support about it either. There's never an option for this...
    Thanks!

Make sure you're entering in _both_ the user name and key code _exactly_ as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to fail.
Also make sure you did indeed purchase a key for Windows. QuickTime keys are not cross-platform.
    Hope this helps.

  • Registration Key Invalid - Quicktime for MAC

I purchased Quicktime Pro for Windows sometime ago and I'm now trying to unlock the Pro features on a MacBook Pro within OS X and I'm getting an "invalid registration" message when using the Pro Key for Windows. Do I need a separate unique key for Quicktime Pro for MAC?

That way it's always been, different keys for different platforms.
I can't think of any software developer that provide you keys for both platforms. For example; photoshop.

  • My Registration Key shows as invalid.

I just purchase Quicktime Pro and the registration key provided on my reciept shows as invalid. I know that I entered it properly because I copied and pasted it into the registration window. I have tried typing it in and resarting the computer. It is impossible to find a phone number to talk to a human being regarding this problem. Any ideas out there?

    Usual reasons:
    1) Wrong NAME entry
    2) Wrong NUMBER entry

  • QTPro registration key "invalid"

I just purchased an upgrade key for QT7Pro and, after entering it into edit>preferences>register tab. I get the message "invalid registration". I tried entering the code manually and by copy/paste into the field and still get "invalid registration". I am running Windows 7 Home Basic on a Dell Inspiron 1440 model laptop.

It does match what the email confirmation says. I've registered Quicktime Pro like, 3 times on 3 different machines the same way and it took. Is it not taking because it's for the Windows version or does it not matter?

  • My key does not work/Invalid Registration

I have been trying for days to unlock Quick Time(QT) Pro, but my registration key does not work!!! I've done all possible requirements, I have copied and pasted my user name and the key code (so those are correct), I do the correct qualifications to run the software, I am using the QT control settings, and yes I do have QT 7.0.3. All my criterias meet to unlock QT Pro but I keep getting the message saying Invalid Registration. I've done all possible trouble shooting techniques given by Apple's tech support but I've simply have had no luck. To my understanding the key code has to be 5 sets of 4 numerical characters (20 characters long) but the one that I got from Apple is only 7 characters long. I've clicked on the link that retrieves a lost key but I get the same number. I try calling customer service but have had no luck in reaching a live operator. What do I do?

Yea you are right, I am inputting the part number. However, I keep looking for the 20 character long key but there is nothing there in either the confirmation email or the invoice email that they sent me. I check the "Download History" on the Apple Store website but it only gives me the name QT Pro, the part number and the date that I purchased it. There is no 20 character long key given. Could they have not given me the key by accident? Like I said, event when I go to the link to retrieve my lost key, it gives me the same part number! Please help, its been more than a week and I am getting frustrated!!!

Both on a desk top and a laptop. Win 7, QT version 7.7.1. No joy! I've been on the phone with Apple for a little more than an hour, so far. They have my money. anyone have any Ideas? Just kiss the thirty bucks goodbye?

You,Sir, are "The Man"! I followed the instructions and - viola - Joy in Mudville. Thank you, keep up the great work. Even the "Apple" people don't seem to know this. I was on the phone with them, passed from one to another, for over an hour. While waiting I stumbled on your advise and I was made free! If they ask you, charge them a mint for the information. You Sir have gone where no Apple has gone before.

  • QuickTime Registration Key doesn't work

    Hi guys,
I've recently upgraded to QuickTime Pro and have been sent a registration key. I copy and paste this into the Registration Code box in System Preferences - QuickTime and it says "Invalid Registration".
I've tried this a few times over the last week and it keeps giving me the same. I can't see who I need to contact about this. The email that sent the key out was a no reply one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I just bought Windows Pro tonight (Sydney time) and exactly the same thing. Followed the instructions and it says Invalid Registration, and of course there's absolutely no-one to contact or inform about it. Funny thing is, I know I bought Pro a few years back, maybe for an older version. I would have thought Pro would have upgraded with it. Not happy!

  • Web Dynpro ABAP Component configuration - Invalid access Key

    Hi Friends,
I have copied HRESS_CC_MENU_OVP to ZHRESS_CC_MENU_OVP and trying to configure it. Even after registering the object it is giving the same error Invalid access key.
We have registered HRESS_CC_MENU_AREA_GROUP and the access key worked fine. But registration for HRESS_CC_MENU_OVP is giving error Invalid access key. We have deleted and registered the object thrice but system is giving the same error.
Can someone please suggest me where I have gone wrong.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi,
Each component will have different access key. you cannot use the same access key to different application.
You can try with different access key else you have an option of enhancing the HRESS_CC_MENU_OVP.
    Regards,
    Jyothi

  • Registration key doesn't work

I'm trying to upgrade the QuickTime player to Pro, but when I enter my name and registration code I get 'Invalid registration'. I am certain that I've entered my name and the code exactly as on the registration e-mail. I've installed the latest Windows updates. I've uninstalled and re-installed the player. Any suggestions?

    Nope.
I've purchased both the Mac and Windows versions and have installed the upgrade cross platform without issue.
The name used (during the purchase) generates the registration "values". They are case sensitive and OS specific.
If you bought the Mac key using a Windows OS (or vice versa) you could still apply the registration.
Many Windows users do not have "permission" to make changes (or apply software updates or upgrades) without using an Administrator account.

  • Quicktime pro registration key fails to work

I tried to reinstall quicktime. I tried to ask apple support for a new key, or to find the defect in the key they gave me. After 48 hours I'm still waiting for a reply. The only thing I received until now was a confirmation of my order from my local applestore. The only thing that appears, after I type in my key, is "invalid registration", right beside the "buy quicktime pro" button. Does anyone know how I can adjust this?

Thank you for the response. I've copied and pasted the name and number from the original electronic purchase page (I NEVER got an email from Apple confirming purchase) and I still get invalid registration. I'm an 18 year Mac user, video editor, graphic artist, music producer, college prof in TV Prod and photography, with extensive experience troubleshooting Mac problems. but I'm dead in the water on this one. Any more suggestions? I don't have a Mac email account set up. I'm going through Comcast, and when I try to set up Mac email, the Preferences choice in the Mac Mail program is alwasy ghosted, so I can't get past step one there. Any suggests there? Could that be an issue here? Thanks Kirk.

  • Pro menu not showing, but valid registration key shows

I have been using QuickTime Pro on this computer for over a year, but I haven't used it in a couple of months.
As of yesterday and today, only Player menu items show. No Pro tools show. My first thought was that my registration key must've been somehow wiped or made invalid, but that isn't the case. The option to "Buy QuickTime Pro..." is grayed out, and the correct key is listed in the Preferences.
This morning, I downloaded the QuickTime update, and the problem remains.
Anyone know why this can happen and how to fix it?

The Name field must also match the same as the email confirmation.
