Inventory Item Cancellation in SAP B1 8.8?

Dear Experts,
As you know, in SAP B1 2007 there is functionality in Inventory Items by which we can cancel and restore subsequently any Inventory Item if needed / applicable. How this can be achieved in SAP B1 8.8?

Hi ,
Do you mean the restore functionality ?
>>>> "cancel and restore subsequently any Inventory Item if needed / applicable ">>>> in which module.
If you are talking about the Restore in Help > Support desk > Restore > is this what you are looking for ?
Make sure you are not authorised to carry out this without the consultation of SAP or your partner.
what is the issue you are to carry this out ?

  • Item level physical inventory for warehouse in SAP IS retail

    Hi, Can you pls let me know whether its possible to do item level physical inventory for warehouse  in SAP Retail, without implementing extended warehouse management. I could understand that SAP is allowing to do bin level physical inventory only in warehouse.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    I am not working in retail, but the docu found in the initial screen clearly says it is without special stock.
    however, it says as well, if you need functions that are not provided, then you shall use MI31 instead.
    first I would open a call at SAP and tell them that WV31 does include consignment despite of different info in the docu.
    if it is a bug, then SAP will fix it.
    If it is design, then you have to use MI31, and SAP may change the docu in future releases.

  • Purchasing - A/P Transaction Processing for Services and Non Inventory Item

    On of the main areas of concern that businesses have is in the area of Purchasing, Goods Receipts and AP Invoices Processing - There is a requirement that businesses have widely referred to as 3-way matching.
    While SAP Business One has this functionality covered quiet well via the following, there is still some need for enhancements so that the application can correctly reflect the AP Accruals:
    - Purchase Order processing with Approval Process (if configured)
    - Ability to perform Goods Receipts for Services.
    - Matching of AP Invoices to Goods Receipts with AP Invoice Approval Process (if configured)
    The above transactions serve the 3-way matching quiet well for all purchases however when it comes to accuring for Services that have been provided, the application does not do this. The Goods Receipt transaction processing to acknowledge the service delivery is allowed however the related posting to the allocation account is missing.
    The process that is followed by the application is same for Items that have not Inventory Items in Item Master.
    As a result of the above, the business have to manually work out what the Accurals for services provided but not invoiced should be.
    With little enhancement to the product this shortfall could very easily be overcome.

    Hi,
    Once there are transactions, we cannot make existing Inventory type item to Non Inventory type item.
    Check SAP note:937297 which states as follows :
    Symptom
    Changing the status of the Inventory Item checkbox (in Item Master Data) for items with inventory transactions and documents, might lead to inaccuracies in the calculations of inventory value.
    Other terms
    Inventory Item, Non-inventory Item, Item Master Data, Continuous Stock, Perpetual Inventory, Inventory Valuation, 2004, 2005, 2005 A SP01
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Consulting Note
    Solution
    The status of an item (Inventory Item/Non-Inventory item as selected in the Inventory Item checkbox in the Item Master Data window), cannot be changed once an A/P, A/R, or Inventory document is posted for the item.

  • Need negative quantity non-inventory items on Credit Memo

    Version: (2007A)
    Description of requirements: (Please provide a detailed description)
    Our customer issues many invoices with a negative quantity line item for a miscellaneous non-inventory item. These non-inventory items are used to reduce the amount of the invoice regarding miscellaneous credits to their customers.  These are not discounts.
    When the customer wants to credit these invoices, they canu2019t create a Credit Memo based on the invoice because SAP wonu2019t allow this if there are line items with negative amounts.
    When they create a credit memo not based on an invoice, they arenu2019t allowed to enter a negative quantity for a line item as they are for an Invoice. They are forced to create a credit memo not based on an invoice the inventory item line items and an invoice or Journal Entry for the negative quantity line item to debit back the miscellaneous line amount.
    As an example:
    Invoice line item one for inventory item: qty one, price 100,line total $100.00
    Invoice line item two non-inventory item misc credit: quanity -1, price 10, total -$10.00
    Invoice Total $90.00
    In Order to provide the correct credit amount, they have to create a Credit Memo not based on an invoice for line item one, qty one, price 100 u2013 value -100 and an invoice for the non-inventory item for qty one, price 10 -  value 10.00.
    This creates a net credit for the customer of 90.00
    This looks ridiculous to their customers when they see these transactions on their statements, creates extra work for the users and there is no link between the three documents.
    By using inventory items for these miscellaneous credits, they can assign a sales revenue of their choice. They have multiple sales accounts and the GL posting is determined by the item group for the item. By assigning the desired item group to these non-inventory items, they can control which sales account is updated on their marketing documents when using these non-inventory items.
    If they were to use the Freight items, they would need a separate freight setup entry for combination of item group and miscellaneous credit. Because they have so many Item Groups and types of credits, they would need a great many separate Freight Charges to choose from.
    All of the above pertains to all of our customers. This customer has a custom add-on and their marketing documents are all created from custom objects.  They hit a button on the custom sales contract screen and an invoice is created.  When they hit another button on the screen, the selected invoice is credited. They have legally binding contracts for fixed quantities to be shipped, so we decrease the quantity shipped when creating an invoice and decrease the quantity shipped when a credit memo is created. The contract is fulfilled when the exact quantity contracted for has been shipped. Because the credit memo fails, we canu2019t update the custom objectu2019s remaining to be shipped, rendering it inaccurate from that time forward. (reducing the quantity shipped is part of the Credit Memo creation process).Creating Credit Memos and Invoices from the interface fixes the inventory count, customer balance, etc., but we have no way of fixing the sales contractu2019s quantity shipped & remaining to be shipped or linking the contracts to the documents created from the interface.
    Business needs: (Please describe the impact on your business, if the functionality is not realized)
    Examples: (Please describe a typical example, how the functionality should work.)
    Credit Memos should allow negative quantities and line total amounts for non-inventory items, the same way that A/R Invoices do, so that credit memos can be based on invoices that have negative quantity non-inventory line items.
    Current Workaround: (Please describe the workarounds you are using at the moment)
    Please see above
    Proposed solution: (Please suggest how the new functionality should work)
    Credit Memos should allow negative quantities and line total amounts for non-inventory items, the same way that A/R Invoices do.

    Hi Sean......
    System is behaving properly as per its logic. Infact it does same in all the previous or upcoming versions.
    If you have Item Type GRPO for Non Inventory Item it does not create any accounting but you can see the same during AP invoice.
    GRPO for such type is only optional. For further clarification you can discuss this with your CA what he suggests. But i suggest you to raise AP invoice also for getting Account effect. Just see doing this in test DB you get your answer......

  • How to correct journals for non inventory items

    Hi All,
    One of my client by mistake made a non-inventory item as an inventory item and used FIFO valuation.
    Now he has created some 30 purchase invoices, goods receipt PO for it in the last month.
    While doing month end they reconcillation they realized the inventory numbers are bloated and found this problem.
    Now they have cancelled the old item defination and created a new one.
    But the problem is how to correct the journal entries for the what has already been done.
    Problem is that Cost of this item is wrong because it got created as a inventory item and was using FIFO.
    Please suggest a fastest route to correct this problem.
    Regards,
    Divam

    Hi Divam........
    I guess Inventory revaluation is not possible in case of Non Inventory Item. You must take the goods return on GRN basis......

  • Standard procedure to transfer Inventory Items from one Warehouse to other

    Dear All,
    Please let me know what is the standard procedure to be followed while transferring Inventory Items from one warehouse to other warehouse through SDK. Right now I am using sql statements to deduct and add the items to and from warehouse. Its not working properly.  Please let me if any business object is provided by SAP to achieve this functionality.
    Regards,

    Hello Noor,
    You can use stocktransfer object:
    Private Sub PostStockTransfer()
            Dim oDoc As SAPbobsCOM.StockTransfer = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(BoObjectTypes.oStockTransfer)
            oDoc.DocDate = Date.Today()

  • Need a query to update the inventory item to non inventory item

    Dear all,
            I need a query which should update the Inventory to Non - Inventory Item.

    Hi,
    You need to freeze the inventory by click inactive tick box. This will prevent users to use the inventory.
    The inventory posting lists will still exists as an inventory's transaction history for auditor if the inventory have had transactions.
    To empty the warehouse, just perform good issue and use inventory decrease account. After the warehouse has been empty, create similar inventory item by right click --> select duplicate. Create new item code and in the tab remarks, just write this non inventory item was ever inventory item with code e.g. xxxx.
    if you want to recover the stock, just create new item and then receive the stock into warehouse using Good receipt. use the same account code with account code used in the good issue.
    JimM
    PS.
    Do not use sql statement to update B1 database. No SAP support provided afterwards.

  • How to identify Inventory and non inventory items

    Dear all,
    what are the ways to differentiate inventoried and non inventoried items.
    please advise. thanks.
    Thanks and regards
    Udaya

    he means the purchase order item category which can be seen in transaction ME23N.
    You never made clear if you want differentiate in SAP or the physical stock in the warehouse.
    As already explained by another one, in SAP you can procure one material number either to stock or to be expensed immediatly while receiving.
    However, physically you dont see any difference, you have to take organizational measures to not store expensed material together with material procured to stock.
    Even further, you should try to receive items which are not procured to be stored, at a different physical receiving place.
    In MIGO transaction at item detail in tab WHERE you will see a storage location if the material is to be stored in your warehouse, but you will not see a location if the material is procured directly to a project or cost center. then you see a receipient instead .

  • Uncheck Inventory Item in "Item Master Data"

    I'm just trying to uncheck the Inventory Item checkbox on the form when the form sudently pass from any mode to ADD_MODE
    Looks like it gets in the event at least 25 to 30 time in a flash and finaly I get my check box unchecked.
    I just don't know why it gets back in it and try to set it to false again because I have the condition which is to check if its true to set it false so if it sets it to fasle it should not get in there again ????
    this is in the ItemEvent
    SAP 2007A PL35
    if (pVal.FormType == 150 && pVal.ItemUID == "5" && SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Mode == BoFormMode.fm_ADD_MODE && ((SAPbouiCOM.CheckBox)SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Items.Item("14").Specific).Checked == true)
        try
            ((SAPbouiCOM.CheckBox)SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Items.Item("14").Specific).Checked = false;
            BubbleEvent = false;
        catch (Exception ex)
            SBO_Application.MessageBox(ex.Message, 1, "Ok", "", "");

    Hi David, wasup
    Well I found another solution too here it is :
    private void SBO_Application_ItemEvent(string FormUID, ref SAPbouiCOM.ItemEvent pVal, out bool BubbleEvent)
            BubbleEvent = true;
            //  BubbleEvent sets the behavior of SAP Business One.
            //  False means that the application will not continue processing this event.
            if (pVal.FormType != 0)
                if (pVal.EventType != SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_ACTIVATE && pVal.EventType != SAPbouiCOM.BoEventTypes.et_FORM_LOAD)
                    // Uncheck Inventory Item when the Item Number got focus and the form is in ADD_MODE
                    if (pVal.FormType == 150 && pVal.EventType == BoEventTypes.et_GOT_FOCUS && pVal.ItemUID == "5")
                        if (SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Mode == SAPbouiCOM.BoFormMode.fm_ADD_MODE && ((SAPbouiCOM.CheckBox)SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Items.Item("14").Specific).Checked == true)
                            ((SAPbouiCOM.CheckBox)SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm.Items.Item("14").Specific).Checked = false;

  • DTW error The non-inventory item cannot be defined as by-product

    Hello all,
    I just used DTW to upload some BOMs. The majority of them went through fine, but I got the following error message on a number of items.
    The non-inventory item cannot be defined as by-product [OITT.pricelist][line:9], 'row no.9', Application-defined or object-defined erroroproductTrees.
    What does it mean?
    I have checked the relevant items, they all are not "non-stock" item, and their Item master data look fine.
    I was not trying to import anything relating to price or pricelist, so I don't think [OITT.pricelist] was actually relevant to the problem.
    I could add those items manually onto BOMs in SAP.
    Has anyone gotten this type of error before? Please could you share some of your experience ?
    Many thanks
    Yang

    Yang,
    This could happen if you are using comma delimited files and there are some commas left in any of the fields you want to import. This makes the column values slipped and could cause weird error messages like this.
    Open your file, highlight all and with CTRL+H replace all commas to nothing.
    Hope it helps.

    Nat

  • Formatted Search - Calculate GP Base Price for Non Inventory Items

    Hi Experts,
    On one of our customer's 8.8 PL 15 installation, requirement was to calculate GP for Non Inventory Items (on SO screen). Since SAP does not automatically calculates it we proposed and implemented following solution.
    1. Have all Non Inventory Items to be costed at Standard cost so that you can manually enter the cost in the Item Master.
    2. Write following formatted search on GP Base Price field so as to calculate the GP Base Price for the Non Inventory Items only. The formatted search must not make any changes to Inventory Items as we want system to calculate the GP automatically (just in case cost changes from SO to Delivery or Invoice).
    DECLARE @II AS nVarchar(1)
    DECLARE @COST AS Numeric(19,2)
    SET @II = (SELECT OITM.InvntItem FROM OITM WHERE OITM.ItemCode = $[RDR1.ItemCode])
    SET @COST = (SELECT     (OITW.AVGPrice * $[RDR1.NumPerMsr]) FROM     OITW WHERE     OITW.ItemCode = $[RDR1.ItemCode] AND
         OITW.WhsCode = $[RDR1.WhsCode])
    IF (@II = 'N')
    BEGIN
    SELECT @COST
    END
    3. Formatted search achieves what was originally required however if a user overwrites the Item Code (Inventory Item) in the SO then above formatted search clears the GP Base Price field and sets the GP basis for the item as "Manual". By obverwrite means user first selected item A0001 on line 1 and then entered A0002 on same line i.e. Line 1.
    My question here is what is wrong in the formatted search that is resulting in this behaviour.
    Any questions please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Devinder

    Hi Gordon,
    Thanks for taking out time to help me however Key requirement here is
    Write formatted search on GP Base Price field so as to calculate the GP Base Price for the Non Inventory Items only.
    Your query sets the base price for GP Base Price for Inventory Item to ZERO and Base Price By to Manual.
    Note that my Formatted search has a problem only when an Inventory Item line is overwritten. I am not sure if this is a problem with SAP itself rather than my query.
    Any other ideas please?

  • GRPO for Non-Inventory Items

    Hi Mentors,
    This is again the issue on doing a GRPO(Item Type) of a non-inventory item not creating a JE. Based on inventory perspective, there is nothing to update in the warehouse stock level. But from an accounting perspective, it should debit  inventory expense account and credit "Goods Received not invoiced" account?
    I'm not an accountant so I'm not sure if my reasoning/understanding on this is correct. Please do enlighten me on this.
    We have a GRPO which does not have any JE tied to it, how will such a transaction be Invoiced? The "Copy to AP Invoice" or "Copy From GRPO" does not seem to work? The base document of the GRPOs are POs', and the POs' themselves don't have a tied JE.
    Currently using SAP B1 2004B and will be upgrading to 8.81 soon. As I checked the forums, this would be a normal feature of B1. Based on this [link|Re: J/E for Goods Receipt P.O.] here in the forums.
    I want to have a clear conceptual understanding of this, inventory and accounting wise, so I can explain this to the concerned parties in the company.
    Thanks in advance!

  • What transactions can be used to receive a pallet of documents for retention purposes that is not an inventory item?

    What transactions can be used to receive a pallet of documents for retention purposes that is not an inventory item?

    Petr,
    Thank you for the question, I think it is easier to explain my current process which I hope you can translate into SAP EWM processes.
    I currently have a SKU description of THIRD PARTY STORAGE, this SKU is always a quantity of 1 for stock check purposes. This SKU can be many things but not inventory (in the sense of not a component or finished good). The pallet can be documents for retention, samples for QC, trial parts etc. This pallet can be received onto the WMS without a Purchase Order number, the SKU is set up to be able to be received 999999 times before a re-set is necessary. The SKU has a putaway algorythm for the high bay warehouse and is sub-zoned into an aisle.
    I hope this clarifies what I'm asking for in SAP.
    Regards
    Chris

  • Download created as an inventory item

    Hello SAP,
    An download item was created as an Inventory item as well as a Sales item.  There has been two transactions posted to that item... the 1st a Sales Order & the other a Goods Receipt.
    I would like to remove the Inventory item box from the Item's master record & preserve the item's code, but it appears that these transactions need to be reversed first.
    Is there a way to get the item to where it is able to be modified back to just a Sales item?
    Thanks!

    Unfortunately, if you have any transactions posted to the item, you will not be able to change those initial settings.
    Reversing the transaction will not have any effects either since you could end up with more transactions only.
    Only if you could restore the database to the time before those transaction and recreated all other transactions will be the clean solution.
    Thanks,
    Gordon
