Invoking an actionURL outside the ADF context

Hi,
I am hitting a similar issue as described in this thread: https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2320844
We have a JSR-286 portlet on a page and we use serveResource to return a JSON response. The resource URL is invoked from some JavaScript code, which then in turn inserts a nice table in the JSP page of the portlet.
Now we run into a case where we want to include an actionURL inside the JSON response.
It is possible to generate an action URL using the createActionURL call on ResourceResponse. This returns an URL that is yet to be rewritten, but if this URL is inserted in the page through our JavaScript, it looks perfectly fine. The thing is that it doesn't do anything.
All the links inside the portlets have some ADF JavaScript around them, with a custom form with hidden fields. The format is:
<a href="javascript:adfpp940818806_doAnchor(anchor_940818806_a4);" onclick="javascript:setTimeout(actionRefresh,500);">Click link</a>
Is there any way we can get this to work for our actionURLs that are inserted as links through JavaScript and not from within the ADF context?
regards,
Jaap

We managed to work around the limitation by not generating the actionURL inside the portlet code, but only in the JSP content.
The actionURL has to be somewhere inside the page for ADF/WebCenter to generate the necessary JavaScript and form fields.
In the above code , anchor_940818806_a4 points to a valid actionURL. If necessary this can be manipulated through JavaScript.

  • Opening an attachment from outside the tomcat context

    I am creating a simple mail software. In my incoming message screen i'm showing all the Attachments as hyperlinks. I want that when the user clicks the hyperlink the Attachment should open in a new browser window.
    My problem is that the attachments are there in a folder outside the tomcat context i.e. in a folder outside the tomcat's folder on the server's c:/Attachments folder.
    If I put the attachments in the root folder of my application under webapps folder it is working properly. But I want to open it from the outside folder c:/Attachments, and also I can't hardcode this path in my code. It can be any path outside tomcat.
    Please help me, if u have any solution.

    Make that path a parameter in web.xml

  • How to use Landmark in a Class outside the Parsley Context

    Hi all,
    Is there anyway to get the Landmark metadata work without adding the annotated Class in the Parsley Context file?
    I mean, I have a Class such as:
    [Landmark(name="content.foo")]
    public class MyClass extends ManagedClass {
    [Enter(time="every")]
    public function enter():void
    LOG.info("content.foo:Enter");
    Problem:
    Enter method is never fired although ManagedClass( the super class ) has a <parsley:Configure /> tag ( and, of course, all injections happen ).
    Adding MyClass to the Parsley Context file makes everything work but is there anyway to make this Landmark work without doing that?
    Thanks.

    That's more of a Parsley question than C3 and AFAIK it's not feasable. The other way around is with i.e. the ProcessSuperclass object definition in Parsley. Check out Parsley's developer manual on that (chapter 3 should explain this)

  • How to trigger soft interrupt from outside the driver?

    Soft interrupt is triggered with ddi_trigger_softintr(ID) function, where ID is returned by ddi_add_softintr and makes no sense outside the driver context. Is it possible to delegate inrerrupt request to an entry point of other driver or even to make a request from a user thread without calling ioctl?

    Thanks Balu,
    I used following code to create a FacesContext object
    FacesContextImpl facesContext = new FacesContextImpl();
    and passed it to the validation service method, which adds validation messages to facesContext object.
    After calling the method, i retrieved the messages by calling facesContext .getMessages().

  • The row key or row index of a UIXCollection component is being changed outside of the components context ????

    Hello Guys,
    I'm working at this moment on implementing GANTT functionality via the <dvt:projectGantt> in my Web App :
    Rather than using data binding technology, I use a managed bean in this way :
    @ManagedBean(name="myBeanController")
    @ViewScope
    public class MyBeanController implements Serializable{
    private List<InternalTask> internalTasks;
    @EJB
    private InternalTaskDao internalTaskDao;
    //Root for tree component
    private List<TreeNode> root;
    private transient TreeModel model;
    public MyBeanController(){
         this.internalTasks = new ArrayList<InternalTask>();
    @PostConstruct
    public void init(){
         //Here I construct my TreeModel
         this.model = new ChildPropertyTreeModel(root,"collection");
    //getters and setters
    And my Component in my JSF page would be :
    <dvt:gantt value="#{myBeanController.model}></...>
    In my Browser the component seems to work properly without any problems but if I expand each node then I can see in my log :
    "<org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.component.UIXCollection> <BEA-000000> <The row key or row index of a UIXCollection component is being changed
    outside of the components context. Changing the key or index of a collection when the collection

    Data corruption and errors may result from this call...>"
    What's going on here ? Something with rowKeySet ?
    Thanks,
    Remy

    Hi,
    I made my tree model variable non transient and the warning message appears again.
    I implement the gantt in the same way as you did in the demo
    1st) populate ArrayList (As far as I'm concerned, it's populated via @EJB)
    2nd) create TreeModel with a helper class as in the demo which extends ChildPropertyTreeModel and implements TaskKey
    In my browser all the stuff is running fine except this warning message.
    I use for info JDev 12c

    I don't know of a way to invoke a javascript function from outside the PDF. Adobe LiveCycle Forms
    (Form Server) gives you the ability to extract form data from a submitted form. You should
    investigate this option.

  • Invoke an awt event from outside the swing application

    Is it possible to invoke an awt event triggered from outside the swing app? I am trying to implement a use case where i have to open a new tab in an already running swing app when a user clicks on a browser link.

    I have a desktop application that was invoked via webstart. The java webstart process started when the user clicked on a link that downloaded the swing application and now it runs in the clients JVM. Each browser click downloades and launches the application that performs a certain function. Now lets say, the user clicks on another link, then i don't want another java application to be launched. I want the same application that executes the function in lets say a new tab.
    Its kind of like you click on a link that somebody sent you in an outlook email. When you click on it and if firefox is already running, the link opens up in a new tab on an already running firefox browser. If firefox was not running, it starts a new firefox process.
    Hope this makes sense

  • Launching a Preview Session Outside the ATG Business Control Center

    I have setup a remote preview server on ATG 10.1.1. Everything works great when viewing it inside the BCC however I’m wondering how to access the preview server outside the BCC. According to the ATG documentation, it sounds like that’s possible. The ATG docs state:
    “Users can preview project asset changes outside the framework of the Business Control Center. For example, you might want employees or outside reviewers who do not have access to the Business Control Center to evaluate changes to a Web application while it undergoes development. In this case, you can enable preview on servers that do not have the Business Control Center installed, then give reviewers URLs to the launch pages on these servers. They can invoke these URLs from any browser window.
    Note: Users who are not logged into the Business Control Center can invoke preview sessions only with URLs to a server where the Business Control Center is not running. In order to avoid security breaches, URLs to preview sessions on the Business Control Center server are blocked.”
    This is the only information I found in the documentation that talks about viewing preview outside the BCC. Based on this limited information, there are a lot of questions I have about how this actually works.
    1. Any attempt to hit any page on my remote preview server outside the BCC, I see the following exception:
    “ERROR [PreviewProfileRequestProcessor] An attempt was made to preview a project without logging in as a user with access to publishing assets. If you are running a local preview instance, the preview URLs registered with the PreviewURLManager may be misconfigured. Ensure that the preview URLs are configured with the same host and domain name used to access the BCC server. This preview request URL is: http://localhost:8280/sample_catalog/index.jsp. If you are running a remote preview instance, the Preview feature does not support remote preview on servers running the BCC. Ensure that the remote preview instance is not running any of the BCC related modules. If you received this error and did not try to perform a remote preview, then you may need to disable preview in the current web application by setting the atg.preview context parameter to false in the webapps web.xml file.”
    I am not running the BCC on this instance so I’m not sure why I am seeing this. Is there something configuration I'm missing here?
    2. I don’t understand where these urls would come from that a reviewer would use to preview the application. There is no "remote preview url" when previewing a page from within the BCC to copy and send to a reviewer so how would a BCC user send a url to a reviewer?
    3. Assuming the reviewing knew which page to hit in the remote preview server, how would that page use the assets from a project? Should the project id of the project be include as a param to the url?
    - Michael

    Shaik, if only it was that simple :( Do you have much experience working with remote preview or are you just guessing here like I have been? In order to help clarify my post though, here is the scenario that describes the basis for my questions:
    A business user is working on a project within Merchandising of the BCC
    1.     The user makes a change to a category
    2.     The user clicks the Preview Button on the tool bar
    3.     The system displays the Preview launcher screen
    4.     The user selects a pre-configured profile user and page for the preview session
    5.     The user clicks the Flexed based launch button
    6.     The application displays within the context of the BCC browser/tab
    7.     The business user would like to send that url to a reviewer who does not have access to login to the BCC
    What happens from step 6 is that a giant iframe launches from within the context of the BCC browser/tab. If you are using remote preview, it is still an iframe and still displays within the context of the BCC browser/tab, the only difference is that the BCC is proxying information to the preview instance in order to initialize the preview session to display the application in the context of the business user’s project. The url the user sees in the browser is the url for the BCC, not the remote preview server. Because the UI for Merchandising and Preview is built using Flex, there is no way to click on the Preview button to open it up in another tab or browser. The only way your suggestion would work is if there is a way to configure the Flex UI to have it open up preview in a new browser/tab which I doubt is possible.
    I hope this helps better explain my post. With that said though, this brings me back to my original questions.

  • The name '' does not exist in the current context

    I have a recurring problem where all of a sudden I can no longer see the values of my variables when I debug my unit tests. I cannot find a pattern as to when this happens but I experience this across one of every 20 tests that I write. Occasionally this
    has also happened during normal debbuging of running code on my machine.
    I have included 2 screen shots. The first is when it is working. I have a break point set at the declaration of list of types. At this point all my variables are still reporting their values back to the debugger. Once I step over this to the next line (screen
    shot 2) I get the error message 'The name '[variable name]' does not exist in the current context'
    This problem is annoying me to no end. If anyone has any insight as to why this might be happening I would be very much appreciative.
    My Settings/Configuration
    Using Visual Studio 2013 Premium (Version 12.0.31101.00 Update 4)
    Projects are all set to Target Framework = .NET 4.5.1
    Resharper 9.1 is installed
    My active configuration is debug mode, Any CPU
    My PC is 64bit and so is the O/S windows 8.1
    All of my projects are also compiled and built in debug mode
    For all my projects configuration debug has the Optimize Code check box unchecked
    I am unit testing code in an outside project referenced by the unit testing project (standard unit test project setup)
    I make use of the latest version of NSubstitute in my tests although I do not think that would have any bearing on this issue
    I omitted the code following the error because it is not relevant. I had cut it out and replaced it with a Task.Delay(4) which resulted in the same issue.
    What I have tried so far
    I have tried debugging the unit test  from Visual Studio Test Explorer instead of from Resharper with the same result.
    If I remove 2 items at the end of the array it starts to work again (so 6 items initialized instead of 8)
    I clean solution with rebuild has no effect
    Removing properties of the array also seems to work, example remove all initialization of property Value

    Hi IWolbers,
    >>I have a recurring problem where all of a sudden I can no longer see the values of my variables when I debug my unit tests. I cannot find a pattern as to when this happens but I experience this across one of every 20 tests that I write. Occasionally
    this has also happened during normal debbuging of running code on my machine.
    So you mean that it worked well before, am I right?
    If you debug the same app in other VS machine, does it work well? So we could make sure that whether it is related to the VS IDE.
    Please disable all add-ins in your VS IDE, and then reset your VS settings, debug it again.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms247075(v=vs.100).aspx
    Or you could run your VS in safe mode, debug it again, at least, we could know that whether it is the add-in's issue.
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms241278.aspx
    To make sure that it is not the project files' issue, create a new blank solution, copy the project files to the new solution, clean and rebuild the solution, check the result.
    >>Once I step over this to the next line (screen shot 2) I get the error message 'The name '[variable name]' does not exist in the current context'
    How about debugging it with "Step Into" instead of "Step Over"? Or you could add breakpoints between 234 line to 241 line, after the breakpoint is hit, check the watch window again. How about the result?
    In addition, do you check other debugger window like local or others?
    Best Regards,

    What I suggest is go into EM and undeploy this composite and all versions. (Only if you don't want the existing ones). Then redeploy your process. This will avoid the version conflict and create a new version. 1.0. Then the next time you try and deploy you need to either specify a new version or check the box to say the version can be over written.
    cheers

    It looks like you're trying to call lock before the entity has been created within the persistence
    context. Persist the entity within the persistence context before calling lock.

  • JBO 29114 ADF context is not set up to process messages

    Hi,
    I have created a Rest web service and hosted it on my own IP address..
    I am trying to create a mobile application using the URL data control for the rest service created.
    I get the below error when I do so:
    *"JBO 29114 ADF context is not set to process messages for this exception.Root cause error code is DCA - 50000."*
    The jdev version I am using is 11.1.2.3 and I have created it successfully in Jdev 11.1.1.4.
    Also I have set proxy settings in my HTTP Analyzer and 'Web Browser and Proxy Settings'.
    The proxy seems to work fine and also I have tested the rest service.It seems to be ok.
    Please advice on the error msg.
    Thanks in advance,
    Malathy.

    Malathy,
    as you use a version which is not available to the public (us) I assume that you are an Oracle employee. In this case you should ask this on an internal forum.

  • How to invoke a webservice in the middle of a BPM process

    I use BPM studio to create processes.
    In the middle part of the BPM process, it need to invoke a web service (an ADF project deployed to weblogic as a web service). Then, it will wait.
    After the process is finished, it will invoke another web service (an ADF project deployed to weblogic as a web service).
    How to invoke web services in and after the process?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply. I use BPM studio 10.3
    In the Catalogue, there are 3 default components which are Fuego, Java, and Plumtree.
    In the Fuego, there is an item of WebServices. In the Plumtree, there is an item named WebServiceProperty.
    If I create a new Module, I cannot find the option of web service.
    How to invoke a webservice (ADF/Java web service developed in Jdeveloper deploy to weblogic ) ?
    Thanks.

    This returns me true or false based on whether am connected to the biometric device or not.Thus I am able to invoke this method without issues. But for other methods inside the dll, run time exception is thrown in console:
    Can someone help me resolve this issue. ??? Following is the content of the log file generated.
