IP Adress condition not working with distributed authentication

I try to set IP condition on a policy, but when using the distributed authentication feature of AM7, the policy is evaluated against the IP-address of the application server where the distributed authentication is deployed instead of the browsers address.
Should this be possible or is it a restriction when using the distributed authentication?

There's a couple of possible causes for what you see. First, make sure that the gateway address is set to the LAN IP address of your router (routers have 2 IPs, the one it uses for the WAN/Internet and the one it uses for the LAN/local network -- use the LAN one).
Make sure that you've set the subnet mask to the same value as the setting on the router (generally 255.255.255.0 for a home network).
Make sure that you've specified a DNS server. Most routers proxy DNS requests, so you can specify the IP address of your router. You can specify multiple DNS IP addresses, so I'd also add 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 (opendns.org) or addresses provide by your ISP.
Lastly, check your router's DHCP configuration. Generally speaking, you can specify a range of IP addresses to be given out by DHCP. You don't want to give your computer a static IP address in the range of addresses it has reserved for DHCP. Select and IP address outside that range (even adjust the range to free up some IP addresses, if necessary). For example, on my home router, I have DHCP providing IP addresses in the range 192.168.1.101-192.168.1.200 (I don't think I'll ever have more than 100 people connecting in my house).

Remote desktop not working with dot1x authenticated machines

Hi,
we are using machine and user authentication , when machine at logoff the machine is authenticated so users can RDP to it
but after logging in the remote desktop session goes down because after user authentication the machine gets a new ip address .
is there any way to avoid this issue ?

I am back after a hectic week on this issue...I could find out something very interesting... At times of convergence, the new path takes sometime to calculate the MRU... Mean to say when you issue the command ping mpls pseudowire destn .. The new path has an MRU of 0 for some 5 seconds..After 5-6 seconds MRU comes back with 1700..This screws up the applications like mail synchronization etc.
Apart from this I found a lot of OSPF flapping due to aggresive BFD timers also, which creates issues with remote desktop. I am unable to convince myself on the MRU issue why it happens. IOS issues on 6524??

Can Actions Menu of Interactive Reports work with Custom Authentication?

My testing is leading my to believe that Actions Menu do not work with Custom Authentication (but only work with APEX Authentication) in APEX 3.1.2? If that's true then is there a work around to this?
Just to clarify, I've posted/asked this question twice before:
1) Re: Actions Menu in Interactive Reports does not sort, filter, select cols etc
2) Interactive Report actions don't work for users (i.e. for non-developers)
But I've come to believe this is the main problem. I just don't know how to resolve/work around this?

I haven't setup a sample because my custom authentication is using LDAP authentication. I'm not sure how I can replicate that on the samples server?
I'm using LDAP authentication with a Page Sentry function. My further testing reveals that the Page Sentry function is setting the APEX variable user to NULL (ie blank) whenever there's any code in the Page Sentry function box. PL/SQL code as simple as

in the Page Sentry function box sets the "user" is set to <null>. When the Page sentry function box is left empty (no code specified) it sets the "user" properly after authentication against the specified LDAP directory.
What all this has to do with Interactive Reports...
It seems like when the user is NULL it messes-up Interactive Reports that are stored in the flows database. Although it shows the default report properly, but no runtime interactive actions (filtering, sorting, column break, etc.) work.
Can someone please correct or confirm this?

Corporate Email does not work with iPhone

I'm not a tech wiz so my apologies if this is very elementary. My IT guy said the iPhones will not work with MS Exchange on our server. We currently support Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices such as the Q, Treos, Blackjack. He did mention that my email could work through the POP server, but it wasn't secure. I've tried setting up the POP email to pull my corporate email, but keep getting the Authentication Failure message. Any suggestions on what to try?

If Windows mobile devices can connect using ActiveSync, then your iPhone should be able to connect the same way.
I used a HTC TytnII to sync my mail, calendar et contacts. I got the iphone and entered the exact same informations (server IP adress, user name and login) and it just worked.
You need however to know the exact capitalization of your email adress, as described in your MS Exchange server. To know that, create a message in outlook, enter your name in the "to" field and double-click on your name. In the information box, you should have numerous tabs, and the last one gives you the capitalization (in the "SMTP" field).

CISCO Box not working with Infrared Remove Control Repeater

There was an Infrared Remote Control Repeater set-up in my newly purchased house. It works for my LG DVD player, but does not work with my CISCO CHS435HDB box. Are there any work around for this? Should I change to a different box?

If you are using a repeater, make sure the piece that is relaying the IR signal is pointing directly the font of the Cisco box and nothing is plugged into the IR input port in the back of the box.

PreparedStatement not working with Oracle

Hi All,
I am using preparedStatement in my JDBC code to fetch/insert values from oracle9i database.
I am checking condition like if a given record does not exist then insert it else update it.
First time it works when there is no row in database, however for subsequent run it's not able to return me the result though that row exist in database and this resulting in DuplicateKeyException becuase it try to create the row in db again.
The code is working fine for MySQL DB2 and SQLServer but doesn't work in case oracle 9i

ps.setString(i++, itemid);My first guess, looking at the above snippets, would be that the item_id field is a number and not a string and so you should be calling ps.setInt instead of ps.setString when setting that parameter.
This is only a guess, however, since you have not posted what the actual error is, which will probably give a hint to what the actual error is.

Default Mail app not working with yahoo mail. Won't update.

Default Maill app not working with Yahoo Mail.
It stopped working the other day. I tried everything but it wouldn't update new mail. The yahoo account itself is fine because I can see new mail on Yahoo or a yahoo app.
I tried deleting the account and putting it back on, but now it has 0 mail in any part of it. Nothing has synced.
What do I do?

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.

Graphite base station not working with my Intel Based Mac Mini and iPhone.

My Airport Express died after 2 years of use. I had to resort to plugging in my old but still functioning Graphite Airport base station. Since the set up assisant on my Mac mini does not work with the older base station, I used my G4 400 tower to set it up. I got it working and tested the connection. On to testing my iPhone. It sees the new network. Password is entered and the wifi icon shows full signal strength, but does not connect to the web. Next I try my Mac mini out on the new network and it too sees the network, but does not connect to the web. I double check the older G4 and the connection is still strong and fast. I shut the G4 down thinking that maybe the Graphite can only support one computer at a time, and the Mac mini and iPhone still can't connect to the web. I'm not sure what to do with this one. Is there a setting that I need to use? As far as security goes, the Graphite base station was set up with a WEP password. Any help would be great

I suggest using AirPort Admin Utility (version 4.2) to check the base station settings and change them, if necessary. (AirPort Admin Utility should be able to configure a Graphite base station from a computer running Mac OS X 10.4, even though AirPort Setup Assistant can't.)
In the Network pane of AirPort Admin Utility, please make sure that "Distribute IP addresses" and "Share a single IP address (using DHCP and NAT)" are checked, and that everything else is unchecked. I am assuming that the Graphite is the only router in your local network and that there are no computers connected via Ethernet.
The Access Control pane of AirPort Admin Utility should list either all of the relevant AirPort ID's or nothing. You can find the AirPort ID of an OS X computer by looking at System Preferences>Network>Show:AirPort>AirPort.
The Internet pane of AirPort Admin Utility should be set in accordance with your Internet provider's requirements. Most likely, it should be set to Connect Using:Ethernet and Configure:Using DHCP.
After verifying the settings, power down the computers, base station and cable or DSL modem for a few minutes, then start them up sequentially, leaving time for each to get fully up and running: first the modem, then the base station, and finally the computers.
The network preferences on the Mac Mini and the iPhone are also relevant. I assume that the preferences are unchanged from those that worked with the AirPort Express.

Smart scan not working with Insert Select statements

We have observed that smart scan is not working with insert select statements but works when select statements are execute alone.
Can you please help us to explain this behavior?

I can't give you a definitive answer, but it's possible that this is simply a known limitation similar to the way that "Create table as select" won't run the select statement the same way as the basic select if it involves a distributed query.

Canon Pixma MP-540 (and other) does not work with Cups 1.4

Since Cups 1.4 my printer does not work
its 100% about Cups 1.4 beceause after an downgrade to 1.3 it worked perfect. After upgrade to 1.4 again nothing worked.
So my question, could there be maybe a package called cups-legacy. I heard about other Canon printers + non canon printers which not work with Cups 1.4 in case of binary distributed drivers

I had a similar problem with my MP780 and solved it by adding a custom udev rule. See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Cup … ermissions. This is my udev rule:

OR condition not working correctly in SQL

I am adding the folling condition to a sql statement and

but the or condition work...

then this portion of the OR condition work but when I use the OR condition something weird is happening that the condition not working... and i dont see a record that meets that condition...

It's not the "trim" that implies "not null", but rather the fact that:
- "not like" operator works only on non-null values and
- "not like" operator disregards null values.
Consider this:

1. if status_code is null      - show the row regardless of order_type
2. if status_code <> 'T'       - show the row regardless of order_type
3. if status_code in (a,b,c,d) and order_type is not null and order_type ends with something other than 9999 - show the row
4. if status_code in (a,b,c,d) and order_type is null                           - do not show the row
5. if status_code in (a,b,c,d) and order_type is not null and it ends with 9999 - do not show the row

XI - Receiver Determination Condition not working

I created a Condition on my Receiver Determination to stop some messages from being sent based on a field in our message.
It works when using some test tools (workbench, SOAPUI, etc) but not when coming from our MDM system. The beginning of the input message looks like what is listed at the bottom of this message(and it works).
But when coming from MDM the one node looks like this - there is no colon ( after the xmlns.

without the colon ( the condition does not work; with the colon it does work.
the sending system is not able to add the colon.
Does anyone know why the colon matters and what we can do to get around it in XI ??

Site list update not working with TED and Zenworks for Servers

Product: Zenworks for Desktops 7Sp1 and Zenworks For Server/TED 7Sp1HP5

Description: We have an exiting environment with 6 ZfS Servers and now we
brought up a new Server for another location. I configured all same as on
the other Server and the new one created all NAL-Apps at the new location.
But in the Application Site list on the golden App is this Application
missing. So I clicked on the Link up site list on the Distribution Screen
in C1. On ApplicationSite list the App from the new location is missing.
So I removed all and added the new from the new location and now i see all
in the application site list.When I install an app on the client on the
new location NAL is connecting alway th the same (wrong location-server
and i get an msi error 1612 or id=53272 with path=\Wrong serverpath to
file.
I looked on the other tab on C1 at the golden app an I see the backlinks
are going to all other servers without the new one. Software installation
on other locations are ok

I forgot to mention that you can also set the loging level on the Distributor and the Subscriber to 6. to do this at the Zenworks Server Management prompt type "setconsolelevel 6" if you want to capture this to the log file ted.log then use "setfilelevel 6"
Next delete the Distribution from the Subscriber and then re-push the channel.
What we are looking for here in the log is the creation of the object and the linking information about the gold object. it should look like this (not the failure part ;-))) )
In this excerpt you will see the entry

You can check this both ways in the Golden App and in the Distributed Application.

Bdc not working with workflow

Hallo,
I have an issue with a bdc FM i created not working with workflow.
If I test the FM, it works ok.
If i Test the method calling the FM it works ok.
if i test the task calling the method it works ok.
If I run the workflow it doesn't work, and i get the following messages:

I tries the same approach on ML81N to block a service entry sheet.(pressing the lock icon),
I get exactly the same issue.
Anybody knows how to resolve?
Or how to do the same without using a bdc call?
