IPAD and EMAIL - Earthlink
I just got a new Ipad and my earthlink contacts are not loading. Getting all the emails, but cannot access contacts. Any idea?
If you are using Earthlink webmail then export the contacts to a service to which yo can sync the iPad's Contacts with. Google Contacts is one such service To export go to Earthlink Webmail>Preferences>Address Book and click on Export.
The go to Google Contacts and import them.

I use my IPad with exchange email. I cannot forward emails with attachments with my IPad. Any ideas about this? I really want to use my ipad in my business but at this point my IPhone and IPad are fairly useless. I would appreciate any help someone could give.
too large error? see this
Update to my scenario. I figured it out. We are on Exchange 2007 on Server 2003 and we are using Active Sync with Client Certificates. We did not notice much of a problem when sending using IOS 6 but with IOS 7 it was much more prevalent, any message over 100K would get rejected as too large. turns out it was a problems with IIS 6 and the uploadreadaheadsize value in the IIS metabase. Here is a link regarding it for 2010

here is one for 2007

I bumped mine up to 10Mb and now attachments are going through fine. THis probably should have been done a long time ago, but the symptoms really just reared its ugly head after the ios 7 upgrade.
I hope this helps others, as i was pulling my hair out all weekend trying to figure this out. -

I have three iPads and one iPod and one iPhone. How can I message between them without sending the message to all of them. You send the message to your email address but all of them are set up under one account.
You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.

HT1277 I cannot send email from my mac but I can from my iPad and iphone
Hi Guys,
Suddenly I cannot send email from my Mac. I can however receive emails.
I can send emails with the same settings from my iPad and iPhone.
Please help!!Your settings for the SMTP server — host name, port number, SSL/TLS or not, or login credentials — are likely incorrect. Use the Connection Doctor tool (Mail.app > Window > Connection Doctor) to check what's going on with the connections (and to get some diagnostic messages), then review the diagnostics and the current settings with the requirements established for your particular mail provider.

We purchased a new iPad2 and registered it using a 'new' iCloud email/ID. We are unable to send email from the iPad and iPhone. The error is:>> Cannot send mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect.
About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone. Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc. This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

TS3899 Cannot send email with new iPad air. Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.
Cannot send email with new iPad air. Works fine with old iPad and iPhone. I have deleted account and reinstalled.
Thanks. I got the problem fixed. Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor. It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner. Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail. I checked all the specifics between the three units. It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com to TWC.com. Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

I can send emails on my ipad and iphone but not on my iMac. I can receive them okay.
I am using a @virgin.net email and cannot send emails from my iMac. I can recieve them and have no problem sending them on my ipad and iphone. Why?
It sounds to me like you need to go into Mail, then Preferences, and check your outgoing mail settings for this mail account. If you're not sure what they need to be, you can probably get most (if not all) of the information you need off of your iPad or iPhone.
I've seen it happen where the settings are correct and things still didn't work. In that case, usually reentering everything in the Mail settings resolves the issue. -
On 3G we cannot send Business emails from either our iPhones or Ipad and this also happens with some WiFi connections but not all. Yet we can always send emails from our Hotmail Account using both 3G and WiFi.
We bought the iPhones and Ipad so that we could send emails while we are out of the Office, but we are not able to do this unless we can find a WiFi connection. Incoming emails are fine. We use IMAP, for Business emails just incase this is relevant and I know that Hotmail is POP3.
Our technical IT knowledge is not great, so we look forward to your suggestions as to how to resolve this.Contact whomever supports the email account and get the correct Outgoing email server settings from them.

When I try to send email from my iPad and iPhone it says that I have the wrong username and/or password, but I know they are correct. Can someone help me?
"Your email account" means to tap on the name of your email account. Whatever it is listed as in the settings.
In my mail settings, one of my email accounts is a Comcast account. I tap on the Comcast name and it brings up this window.
Then I tap on the arrow under the Outgoing mail server smtp setting to get to the next window.
In the resulting window, I then tap on the arrow next to the smtp server under the Primary Server setting.
That brings up this window in which I check to make sure that my user name and password have been entered correctly. If those items are missing, enter them in the appropriate fields and then tap done. -
I am new to IPAD and I want o use facetime, how can I use it to communicate with my mac at home, do I need to create another account with a different email account
do I need to create another account with a different email account
Yes, the email addresses need to be unique to each device. You may use the same Apple ID on each device, but the email address used by each device needs to be different. -
I have seral email accounts on my Mac. One does not work on the Mac but works on my iPad and iPhone. The account information was added on the Mac. I keeps rejecting my password.
You don't input the information in manually for iCloud mail. It is automatically set up for you when you sign into iCloud via System Preferences and choose the Mail checkbox. Sign out of iCloud or deselect Mail in iCloud preferences. Open Mail's preferences and choose accounts tab. If iCloud account still exists in the list, delete it. Sign back into iCloud or check the box for mail. The account will be auto created for you.
