IPad Time Zone and Mail Problems

I got an iPad air with Retina Display yesterday and I can't set the time zone. When I go to set time zone automatically the circle just keeps spinning like it is thinking and won't stop. Also, I have a bell sympatico.ca email and can't connect it to my iPad. Can anyone offer some help??

Same problem. Everything done on the following discussion does not work:

  • Time Machine and Mail problems not fixed in 10.10.1

Time Machine and Mail seem completely broken in Yosemite. If anything it got worse in 10.10.1.
    1. If you see inboxes at all they are empty.
    2. Even if you don't press any buttons, Time Machine changes your account descriptions, order of accounts and in one case even disabled an account!
So after entering Time Machine from Mail, even you don't do anything, you have redo a bunch of settings afterwards.
Anybody know a solution for this?
I've tried talking to AppleCare about this (for a month now) but they never get back to me.

What do you see when you enter Time Machine from within mail?
Also, do you happen to have an external display? I have one and I think that causes extra issues.
Do you see a stack of past inboxes, and for each inboxes do you actually see emails listed?
How many email accounts do you have? And what type are they - Gmail, etc.?
It may be a corruption issue on my individual installation. Or it may be that we have different numbers and types of accounts. So it would be useful to compare.
I have 4 Gmail accounts, 2 "ordinary cPanel" IMAP accounts and 1 iCloud account. So 7 in all.

  • Time Zone and WLS6SP1 and date time problem

    Hi,
We are having our development WebLogic server on a Solaris 2.8 machine. The time
zone of that machine is GMT+5
How ever when we start weblogic in the telnet console, we see this
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.......
    <Jul 5, 2001 1:19:46 AM GMT-05:00> <Info> <Security> <Getting boot password from
    user.>
Enter password to boot WebLogic server:
It shows the time as GMT-5.
All our application client machines are at GMT+5.30.So when we update from our
application, the datetime fields go as one day lesser(we have our own serializable
component which does the updating). If i enter Dec 10 2000 in our applet client
and try updating, it goes as Dec 9 2000 into the database.
We tried on a NT machine which had GMT+5.30 as the time zone and it showed GMT+5.30
while starting weblogic. And the dates are updated properly.
Does WLS on Solaris take the timezone, etc from some other place?
Is there any workaround for this?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ramkumar

We had the same thing using ReflectionX to connect. Users connection with Telnet
caused weblogic to log with the default timezone ( which included the effects of
daylight savings time ), while those users who connected with Rexec caused weblogic
to use GMT in its logging. This was with weblogic 6.0 sp2

How are you starting up your server? We had a similar situation at our
    site, and
it was due to the fact that we were using exceed to log into our sun box.
    Exceed
was grabbing the users timezone info off of his/her local windows box.
is this what is happening for you?

  • Outlook Client recurring appointments time zone / GMT offset problem

I will try to describe this with text, although it's a very visual problem.  I added a post to my blog with
it so I could include pictures.  If you think you need pictures to understand the text below, please review that entry.  Please note, the one appointment instance cited below, is an example, there are many others with this same problem,
and it only happens with recurring appointments.
    Relevant System Information:
    Windows 7 Utlimate
    Office 2010 Professional Plus (14.0.6023.1000 64-bit)
    Exchange services hosted by Microsoft.
Android HTC Inspire 4G also configured as exchange active sync client.
    Issue Description:
I have a specifications meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday mornings (every 2 weeks) at 8:30 am.  In the body of the appointment, it even has this text spelled out.  "When: Occurs every 2 weeks on Tuesday effective 11/23/2010 from 8:30
AM to 11:30 AM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)." as an indicator of the actual appointment time.  The problem is that one day, several weeks after this appointment had been sent to me, Outlook 2010 decided that it was really at 1:30 PM.
Since that time it's been showing incorrectly on my calendar at 1:30 PM.   So, I recognized almost immediately that this was a 5 hour difference, which happens to also be my timezone offset (except that I'm currently in daylight savings time -- so
    it's really a -4 offset right now).
I ran the 2010 service pack 1 installer, based on the suggestion of my IT group, and found I already had the service pack installed.  I've tried the timezone tool as well and that didn't work.  Please keep reading.
Next I went to my exchange host with outlook web access.   The appointment is closer to correct there, showing at 9:30am.  It think here it almost seems as though it's applying the DST, but not correctly, maybe doubling it?.
Meanwhile, back in outlook, if I go to the scheduling assistant and look at my time while making an appointment with other invitees it - much to my surprise - matches the time in OWA, not the time in outlook client.
Finally, if I go to my Android and look at the appointment, it is correct.  8:30 AM.
    So to summarize:
    Real Appoinment:   8:30 AM
    Outlook Client Time: 1:30 PM
OWA / Exchange Time: 9:30 AM
    Android Calendar Time: 8:30 AM
This applies to many others, this is just a convenient example.
This applies only to recurring appointments.
Any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Status Update, and recommended next steps:
I opened a ticket with HTC support the day before yesterday (Ticket # 03543601). The initial response was an email reply with the typical level one suggestion to remove and re-add the Exchange ActiveSync account on my phone, and if that didn't resolve the
issue to do a hard reset and then add the account again. Since I have multiple users experiencing this same issue, where the common denominator seems to be centralized around the move from Outlook 2007 to 2010 and the HTC Gingerbread OS, I convinced them that
this would not be an acceptable remedy, and my case was immediately escalated without hesitation. I will say that though I don't have a resolution, I'll applaud HTC for not giving me the runaround and giving me a live person who could talk intelligently about
    the issue.
Today, I received a phone call back on this ticket  from someone in the escalations department at HTC named Travis. After explaining the issue in detail to him and referencing
this specific thread, he acknowledged that it did in fact sound like a coding issue coming from the device where the value in the “dispidApptTZDefStartDisplay” property was being set improperly by the device/stock email/calendar application in their implementation
of ActiveSync. He then stated that he would relay this to the developers to look into the issue. He further elaborated that the case would either be in a status of, "this is being looked into", or "We believe this to be resolved in [x] update". He said that
they will probably continue releasing updates for the Incredible (I did not specifically ask about the Incredible 2), and while the Incredible 2 is definitely slated to get Ice Cream Sandwich, the Incredible one is still in a classification of, "being evaluated".
Personally, I doubt that the Inc 1 will get ICS, but it is possible. From what I have read, the general stance is that phones will be updated for 18 months after release, and the Inc 1 is 24 months old this month (bummer - I REALLY like this phone).
According to Verizon and HTC, these are the phones that will get ICS (or Android 4.0):
Ice Cream Sandwich Coming to Many Verizon Wireless Smartphones
Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich Updates
While it is possible that an update will be released for the Incredible 1 to fix this issue, it will likely be months before one is available, so we'll probably have to move to Touchdown for Exchange by NitroDesk in order to resolve this issue....or move to
a newer phone with ICS 4.0.
Speaking of which, there is a whole laundry list of issues with Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices. A number of them are listed in this Microsoft KB article:
Current issues with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices
    Per the article:
Microsoft's recommendation for Android - Upgrade to Android OS 4.0
Microsoft's recommendation for iPhone/iOS devices - Upgrade to iOS version 5
So, for anyone on Android experiencing this issue (or others listed in the Microsoft KB above), if your phone is likely to get ICS soon, then you may want to hold on and just be vigilant about checking your calendar on OWA. If your phone isn't slated to get
ICS or if you can't wait, my recommendation is to get Touchdown for $20. You may still have to delete and re-create appointments that are wrong, but hopefully the issue won't happen any more once you move to Touchdown. And if they do, at least you've got a
shot at a more rapid fix with a company like NitroDesk. (no offense HTC).
Good luck. I probably won't post again unless I get notice of a fix for this specific issue or some other significantly useful information.

  • Calender events disappear time zone/location service problem

By accident I turned OFF the location service for the time zone (system services). Then I created a huge amount of annual events (repeating every year) birthdays etc in my calendar by hand. Yesterday I turned ON the location service for time zone and now all the annual events are gone.
I don't have the iPhone calendar synced at all. All my regular events, even the ones repeating every week, is still in the calendar and works properly. I guess the problem is because of the time zone location service, but I can't bring the events back whatever I do. Help needed!

  • Can external users change their language, time zone, and locale settings?

    Hi,
We’re migrating our hosts from WebEx cloud to our on-prem solution right now (CWMS 1.5.1.323.A).
We’ve learned that CWMS 1.5 does not provide an online address book where hosts could customize language, time zone, and locale settings for their external attendees.
Do external users have any chance at all to change their language, time zone and locale settings individually?
    Thank you,
    Helge

    Hi Dejan,
"external users" are those participants, who do not have an LDAP account in our deployment, since they are not intendet to act as hosts: our stakeholders, partners, customers, clients.
It looks, as if these people would stick to the systems' default language / time zone / locale.
We are wondering if there might be a CWMS-component like this:
    https://artcom.webex.com/cmp0307l/webcomponents/widget/preference.do?serviceType=MC&siteurl=artcom&target=Page&backUrl=%2Fmw0307l%2Fmywebex%2Fdefault.do%3Fsiteurl%3Dartcom%26service%3D1
to allow those "extenal" participants to make their adjustments.
    Thank you,
    Helge

  • Changing time zones and synching

I have changed time zones and all the information in my palm is now messed up, having switched to match the current time zone. How do I change this without doing each one individually? I will also need to do this again when I go back to my former time zone.
    Thanks!
    Post relates to: Zire

I understand why it did it - I just need to know if there is a way to fix it so I don't have to deal with dates/times being messed up for three months. The difference in time zones is 10 hours, so it changes things drastically - not only by a few hours. Is there anything I can do?
    Thanks.

  • Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS), Time Zones, and DayLight Saving Time (DST) Changes

    Hello,
We are approaching this time of the year again...
I would like to redirect you to the Support Note 1370083.1 "Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS), Time Zones, and DayLight Saving Time (DST) Changes"
This note lists what is to be expected from WebLogic Server regarding this time change period, in terms of behavior, both for the engine and the applications deployed onto WLS.

  • Devices and I are in one city but time zone and location based apps show devices location in another city

iPad2 with IOS 8.1.2 located with me in Eastern Time Zone city but settings under General reflects Central Time Zone(Chicago).  All location based Apps are reflecting a Central Time Zone city, one that I have never visited.  I did an erase and restore of a backup prior to this issue but it was not resolved.  What do I do?

I am having a similar issue. I moved about 10-15 miles. Any app, such as Maps, a Weather, etc, that use location keep showing my current location as my old address. I'm interested in hearing the solution to your problem.

  • Traveling across time zones and calendar events

I am going to Europe and want to know if I put my flights into my iOS calendar now using European local flight time will my calendar adjust for the time zone when I am there? I live in MST. In other words if I enter a 4:00PM FLIGHT now in MST, when I am in Rome will my calendar event still say 4:00 PM?

I believe the the calendar entry will change unless you go to settings> mail, contacts, calendars> Time zone override> on. I'm going to ask the hosts to move your question to the Using iPhone Forum. I'm sure someone will know for sure over there.

  • Synchronization messes up time zones and scrambles calendar

Hi, my problem is I live in Venezuela, and 6 months ago, Venezuela modified its time zone to GMT-04:30. Microsoft already has honored this change, and created a new time zone with that offset.
Apparently, RIM hasn't. So I use the standard GMT-04:00 in my Pearl and set it not to synchronize time with any server.
But when I try to synchronize with outlook, it apparently works fine, but the pearl changed zone to some strange GMT -10 african zone, and each entry in the calendar is Physicaly moved to the new time, obviously messing up my calendar.
How do I Approach RIM in order for them to create the revised time zone for Venezuela ??
    Any other Ideas ?
Message Edited by jsonnen on 04-06-2008 08:01 AM

Do what I did - turn off time synch on the desktop, and just configure the phone to synch with the network.  It's likely that your phone network has the proper time and date.

  • Time Zone auto-reset problem

I was having problems with apps quitting, so I did a full restore and now my Time Zone is stuck at "Cupertino, CA"!! I tried to change it to Tokyo, Japan, but every time I go back to the home screen, it resets again!
I seem to have lost the "Set Automatically" feature found at: Settings>General>Date & Time
Could anyone check one their phone and tell me if you have this feature? I swear it was there before I did the full restore...

Thanks so much! Quick question before I try...
Is that the restore from the handset itself (it warns of a two hour process) or the restore from iTunes? If from the handset, when the handset asks me to connect to iTunes for initial set up, should I choose the "use as new phone" (I think that what it says) option?
I was going to choose that the first time I tried a full restore, but I was scared I wouldn't be able to activate the phone properly, so I chose the "back up old phone" option!

  • IPad 2 with iOS5 mail problem

    Hello,
I have just upgraded my iPad2 to iOS5 and everything was working great but i have noticed one problem. I have setup my iPad to do exchange for m.gmail.com. And i have no trouble receiving emails in those accounts. But when i tried to send a "test" email to my icloud email address, it doesnt go through. I can see the email on icloud.com. But not on the iPad2. I have already enabled the "mail" Services for the icloud.
Anyone else have the same problem? Or possibly a solution?

I'm not sure if you've been successful with playing music on your iPad yet but here's what worked for me. This morning I discovered that my whole music library was 'greyed out' and nothing would play at all after installing the shiny new (flawed and bugged) IOS 5. After unsuccessfully trying a hard reboot (holding the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, ignoring the power off prompt and letting the iPad completely shut down, operating system incuded) then everything bar a complete wipeout and restore to factory defaults I tried this and it worked:
First I synched my iPad with my iTunes via the USB cable. Then I unticked the 'synch music' tab, which will basically delete all of the music from your iPad on the next synch which I then did. Then I ejected the iPad from iTunes and performed a hard reboot (see above). To power up again hold the sleep button down for a few seconds and you'll see the Apple logo. it should then take about 20-30 seconds to reload and be ready to use. I then reconnected to iTunes, went to the music synch tab. Ticked the box to put my entire music library back on the iPad and synched again. Depending on how much music is in your library or how much you put on your iPad it could well take hours. I've only got about 5GB and it took over 2 hours. Anyway after it had synched and put all the music back on the iPad, I tried and all of it is now longer 'greyed out' and plays like it's intended to.
If you haven't been successful yet then it's worth a try. It may well work for iPhones too if the music has already been backed up on iTunes. Hope this helps.

  • System time zone and User time zone is differenct.

    Hello friends.
We use SRM 5.5 with classic scenario. (SP07)
Our system time zone is CET.
Now if we have a user different with a different time zone in the user master, for example, a UTC+9.
We can end with up with a received date in service BBPBWSP_SIMPLE that is before the created on date in the shopping cart.
A shopping cart is created at 2006.05.10 but the received date in Approval says 2006.05.09.
So approver can be confused the requested date.
Is this standard bugs or standard design?
How can we change the received date with user Time Zone?
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    SH.

    Hello,
As far as I know, if you do not populate the field "of the user" in SU01, system takes the pattern timezone, which is UTC, to display to the end user in web gui.
    I did the following test:
    - I created a RFX with a user who's timezone (in tx SU01) is set as:
    Sys. Time Zone     CET
    of the User        INDIA
    - CET time  was 20:01:55
    - GMT time was 18:01:55
    - India time was 23:31:55
Looking at this RFX in BBP_PD I see the following:
Same user (India timezone and CET as "Sys. Time Zone"):
    Created_At: 20:01:55
    Changed_at: 20:01:55
    DETAILS ->
    Created at: 18:01:55
    Changed at: 18:01:55
    RFX header (description): 23:31:55
So, if you want to populate the header document in WEB GUI with another time zone than UTC, you have to use the field "of the user", under Personal Time Zone. However, if you want to display the UTC time zone in header documents in web gui, you can leave this field empty.
    Kind regards
    Ricardo

  • Time-Zone Help. User Time Zone and SAP Time Zone!

    Hi Experts,
Guys, I want to know how to check and change time in SAP system. The reason I want to know if when I go to su01 and display my user, under Default tab>> Sys. Time Zone is different. So, I am guessing that I have to change time zone which is causing my CCMS-Alert auto-reaction.
    Thanks,
    I will reward points.

    Hi Prince,
Cool!! Just wanted to confirm and clear things up.
    1. My OS time is PST and upto date. I have checked by typing date in unix.
    2. As you have mentioned (Txn STZAC). I think STZAC is a T-code in which I can change time zone but what is Txn? Also, when changing time zone, do I have to make client modifiable in se06?
    3. As you have also wrote that I can add (TIME_ZOME) in parameter of Auto-reaction Z_method. Just to confirm, is that how I will add.
    Parameter Name: Time_Zone
    Parameter Value: PST
on the Parameter value, do I need to add any syntax or characters such as $PST, (pst) etc...
    Thanks for your help!
