Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. First make sure that you are using the charger that came with the iPad and have plugged that into a wall outlet. Keep in mind that if the battery is completely drained it make take up to an hour on the charger before the iPad responds. So wait one hour then, while the iPad is still plugged in, reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is 100%.
If the iPad does not start consider these troubleshooting steps.
1. Bad outlet. Make sure the outlet is providing power.
2. Bad charger. Try a different charger.
3. Bad cable. Try a different cable.
4. Dirt, fuzz, or lint in the connection ports. Check and casually clean if necessary.
5. Software failure. First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
6. Hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Firefox Browser window will not open or start.

Sorry that this is long, but I wanted to make sure you knew as much as you needed to know.
I click on the icon in my Windows taskbar, and the firefox browser window will not open.
This was not the first of my problems. At first, Firefox would open immediately, but soon afterward, it began to slow, and soon, it took around 10-15 seconds for the browser window to start.
Now it won't start at all.
I will admit that I go all addon-happy on Firefox, but these extensions have never been a problem before. Here is the list:<br />

I recently installed a GameVance installation thing. I'm not sure what it did, but could've had a virus in it that surpassed my security. I use Avast, if that's important at all. That thing was hard to uninstall, so I had to go back to the site to get the uninstallation software.
I tried to use the firefox.exe -ProfileManager thing, but it kept crashing, so it was useless.
Please help me fix this. I love Firefox. It's the only browser that allowed you to use the most addons! Plus, ALL MY STUFF IS ON THERE! I'd hate to have to change browsers (and I REFUSE to use Internet Explorer!)

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br />

Hello. My ipad2 will not open embedded YouTube videos.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I'm using wifi for my Internet connection, if that makes a difference. Thank you.

With Facebook, and most of YouTube being used to host "non-proprietary" videos uploaded by their owners, it allows these sites to display these videos directly in the browser using html5.
The problem arises on youtube and facebook when you try and view a "Music Video" or any other "proprietary" video or audio. These videos must be displayed using what's called DRM (digital rights management), to protect the video or audio owner from theft.
This is why videos watchable in the browser on your pc, mac, or android device are not watchable on any ios device, because the videos require Flash to be played,
As an easy test, go to youtube on your pc, mac, or android device and doa search for eminem. You will see that alot of videos that come up will not come up on your ios device, or even in the ios youtube app.
Some of the reason for this as well is that the content owners have "banned" the viewing of their content on mobile, due mostly to slower connections disrupting their advertising.
This is easily remedied on android by setting the browser to "desktop" viewing.
You're best bet when trying to watch videos online from an ios device is to look for an app instead, or pay for the "flash workarounds" offered through ios.

Icloud email on an ipad2 will not open due to an extremely large email

I accidentally sent an email to my me.com account that was extremely large and now I cannot access my iCloud mail without it immediately shutting dow. I'm not even able to delete the mail because it won't stay open long enough for me to delete it. Once I select the email, my email program immediately shuts down. How do I get rid of this darn email so that I can even use my icloud mail??

I have tried restarting the iPad, have tried to deal with it on my iPhone with the same results. The mail application just shuts down when I open it. I can't even select the email to delete it before it shuts down.
I tried going to iCloud.com, but when I do I seem to get a cover page that just gives me the option to "set up iCloud on this device" (it already is), "install find my iPhone" (also already installed), or "install find my friends". No way to access mail from that page, although I have heard that there should be. I even tried to access it by going to iCloud.co/#mail and many other combinations.
Any other suggestions?

I don't know why * is being appended to your extension. That would cause problems opening the file unless you remove it.
I would have your IT check that company laptop out. No PC should be renaming the extension.
In Photoshop CC, go to Edit > Preferences > File Handling and look at the settings.
Choose "Maximize File PSD and PSB Compatibility" and set it to Always.

Have you an iCloud email address? Try deleting it temporarily.

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes. You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update. I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

I upgraded from 3.6.13 to Beta 4.0 and now Firefox will not open at all I tried to uninstall to start again but it will not uninstall either it does nothing.

The fact it will not uninstall appears to be something completely new as nobody I know who uses Firefox has ever encountered this in the past.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

please try this (all terms are translated from my German programs to my best knowledge):
1. Did the creator of the pdf file enable the import options?
2. See import options: choose an other visibility option for your layer.
3. Let you show the import options and click into one with a black background and try these out (often a gray is selected).
4. See trimming: try the different modes there. Often works: "Media".
5. Is the pdf file (eg from Word) correctly created?
6. Is the PDF file protected? >>> no import possible.
7. If that does not help, store the pdf file in Acrobat, repair possible errors, run the PDF Optimizer before placing in InDesign.

I had this problem for a couple weeks as well and it was extremely frustrating considering we use firefox for all our company tasks. Here is the solution:
First of all if you have no bookmarks you want to save, then go directly to step 7. If you want to save your bookmarks first, then follow these steps.
1. Shut down the computer
2. Reboot and open firefox
3. Go to Task Manager, right click firefox.exe, and click END PROCESS TREE
4. WAIT 30 SECONDS! Then Double-click the shortcut to try and open firefox again
5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 until firefox finally opens (trust me, eventually it will)
6. Once it finally opens, backup your bookmarks,
7. Download a copy of firefox from there website
8. Uninstall from programs menu and make sure to check the box REMOVE ALL COMPONENTS
9. install the new copy and BOOM! it works
If it doesn't work, you're an idiot. If you don't want to reinstall firefox, then you're out of luck. Good Luck!

Same thing happened to me. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?
