IPhone 4 corner popping/clicking sound

I know my phone is out of warranty or whatever but I just want to know what's wrong with it. It clicks in the bottom left corner when I touch it.

The nearest Apple Stores are four hours away across the state and 6 hours in another state.

  • Pop/clicking sound when in 5.1 mode under Vista 32bit using the latest 2_18_0004 drive

I'm using S750 speaker system, very noticeable!!!!
I tried 7. mode, still pop/clicking sound!!!!! But no in stereo mode!!!!
It's long time for users that reported this issue, after Creative Labs released so many driver versions, this issue still not been
    corrected, it's really SHAME!!!!!
Hope this get worked out in next release!!!!!!
Hope this will never be heard in X-Fi 2 !!!!!!

X-FI 2 is the same failure as X-FI IN drivers hardware xfi is great, so if you buy the new x-fi2 there will be the same crappy drivers as you use now.
Anyway, Please post spec, Because this is a hard problem to solve many things can make the Sound to crackle.
PSU = To low Watts for a system can make the soundcard crackle,
=2, sharing power with other devices like hard drivers floppy drivers etc.
= Not goot psu enough, bad quality psu can make this beli've me i had the same problem
= Quality cables to the soundcard, use a different rail if that is possible.
Bios = check for bios updates. even if there is none information about creative, sometimes it can help BUT READ INSTRUCTIONS on how to do it and what the stakes are if you do it wrong, and read the forums about the new bios, not allways new bios is good. IF you are a Asus user you should know why.
GFX = Place the soundcard (PCI) away from the grphics card, if you got ex 4pci slots and gfx pci express use the last slot for soundcard, if that dosnt work try 3,2, etc. but futher away from the graphics card should prevent EMI
X-FI= check the power slot in soundcard check for bendings etc.
I had this issue fixed it with new psu, had no idea first but after my ASPIRE TRIO 520w cought fire and i changed it to Antec 620w it allmost dissapeard, then i checked the power slot in X-FI and it was bent outwards, after carefully bending it back the crackle dissapread.
Now im using Cooler Master Real Power 850emba and using a different rail for the soundcard.
Hope you solve it, best regards Commander

  • Popping/clicking sound after update

i've just updated with the recommended superdrive firmware 2.1, itunes 7.3, security update 2007-006 (universal) 1.0, mac os x update (intel) 10.4.10 and security update (quicktime 7.1.6) 1.0, and have now noticed a noice that sounds like a loud enough but dull thudding click/pop, more or less on the height of my charge cable socket, in the speaker on the lefthand side of my keyboard
it is not rythmical and stops after 10 min or so, but starts again every so often and than dissappears again for a short time.
changing the angle of the mbp doesn't make a difference...
    anyone with the same?
does anyone know what it is and how to get rid?
    thanx

I am not convinced this is an audio issue. I've turned off my external audio and turned down the internal speaker and the clicking persists.
The "click" sounds mechanical and I am wondering if this is the internal drive? I have tried SMARTreporter and there are no problems reported.
I am no longer hearing the "ping pong ball drop" sound as the internal drive thermally recalibrates. Have Apple changed how the drive calibrates itself during the latest updates?
I work in a very quiet office and this is really beginning to grate!
If this is a drive fault I'd rather get it sorted now rather than wait for it to fail mid-project.
Any help will be most appreciated.

  • External speakers popping/clicking sounds on new 24" iMac 2,8 GHz

    Hello everyone,
got a new iMac from Gravis in Germany and connected it via it's headphone jack to my external stereo amplifier and it emits clicking or popping sounds whenever I switch the light in my room on or off. I've used the same connection for my Windows PC and that is working fine - no pops or clicks. The problem also exists if the Mac is muted. I can not hear clicks or popping noises when I disconnect the external speakers and use the in-built ones.
I brought my Mac back to Gravis and explained the problem and they replaced the audio board and cabling. No success. The popping and clicking is still there. Replacing the audio cable with a better shielded one does not fix the problem. Turning the power connectors of amplifier and/or Mac 180° does not help also.
The problem seems to come from a bad shielding inside the Mac or the built-in power supply that is not capable of filtering the power surges.
I've found some threads but I'm not sure whether or not these issues are related. Some people seem to think that these problems are software related.
    A workaround could be:
    1) getting an online USV that disconnects the Mac from the power cabling
    2) using the digital output (toslink)
    3) getting an external Firewire or USB sound device for sound output
Neither of these three workarounds are options for me - I still want a fix for my Mac.
Anyone here who has the same problems?
    vex

    Hi Elvinio,
I'm trying to solve this problem by getting rid of the analog connection between Mac and stereo. I've ordered a digital 7.1 receiver for 250 Euro and a toslink cable for 20 Euro.
Another solution would be an online UPS. That UPS disconnects the Mac from the direct power source and delivers "freshly generated" and "perfect" current without disturbances.
I think that those pops are power surges that are not filtered by the Apple Mac's power supply. My ordinary Windows PC is not subject to clicking and popping sounds - so I suppose that either the power supply or the internal shielding of the Mac is crap.
I hope that those ugly pops are gone when I establish the new connection...
I will post the results of my not too cheap work-around.
    Regards

  • What is the popping/clicking sound in my voice recordings?

    Hi All!
I just used my italk pro with the new 8gb nano. I recorded a lecture today, and when i played it back there are clicking/popping sounds every few seconds in my recording.
i have used this italk also with my 80gb ipod (which was stolen by one of my students) to record one of my choirs and on playback, we all heard the same clicking/popping noises.
someone in one of the threads on here suggested that it was the hard drive sound, but i have used the previous version of italk with a 2nd generation ipod, and, the hard drive sound is not a clicking/popping noise but kinda sounds like a computer booting up.
who else is having this same trouble? does anyone have an alternative suggestion? i would rather not use another external mic.
    Thanks All!!!!:)

Yes, me and most other unibody MacBook owners have experienced this. The TrackPad also clicks, the other sound is the HD. All is fine. Please search the forums in the future. Here is a link to one other discussions about trackpad: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9093184&#9093184

  • Pop / Click Sound when mic plugged into iPad

Is anyone else having an issue with a faint 'pop' heard when using a mic to record audio into the ipad through the headphone jack?
I've tried using the iPhone earbuds w/ built-in mic and 3 different iRig Mics at the local music store - each time, the same result.
When I am using any audio recording program that accepts the mic input (Garageband, free iRig recorder, Vocalive, etc.) I hear a faint 'pop' every 20 seconds or so. It is pretty quiet compared to the audio input, but is loud enough to be heard when trying to record good quality audio.
At first I thought it was an issue with the iRig Mic but after testing with the iPhone earbuds/mic, it appears that the issue pops up whenever there is an input device plugged into the headphone jack.
Can anyone confirm or provide a suggestion for how to remedy this problem?
    Cheers. Dale

    Anyone?
I've confirmed a slight regular 'pop' or 'click' on my iPad2 every 20 secs or so whenever an input is used in the headphone jack. Can hear it when turned up high. Shouldnt be a processing power issue because I can replicate even in the simplest of recording programs without an additional processing.
Confirmed with iPhone earbuds w/ mic, with ampkit guitar interface and irig imic (x3 different ones at the store).
Frustrated because this negates using my ipad for recording purposes

  • G700 and popping/clicking sound

    Hi,
my wifes G700 is less than a month old and its developed an annoying clicking or popping sound on the left hand side. Has anyone else experienced this ?
I suspect it might be the fan as before anyone says it you can discount the HDD because it has a SSD in it
As its new do you invalidate the warranty if you try and open the laptop yourself from the bottom ?

The User Guide for your model details the removal of the back cover for replacing memory, the hard drive, etc, so removal will not void your warranty.  Once the cover is removed the fan assembly will be accessible for cleaning and inspection.
The link below is for your model's User Guide.

  • Popping / clicking sound when using headphones

I just got a new iMac and I've noticed when using headphones I get this popping or clicking noise at cerain times. If the computer doesn't produce sound for a while, it's like the audio driver "shuts down" and the headphones go very quiet, then when the computer has to make a sound, it makes a "pop" noise before it loads the new sound (regardless of the file or program used). Then I'll leave it for a minute or so, and it "pops" and the headphones go very silent (there was a slight static noise before). I don't get this happening when running the headphones through a USB audio card. Is this normal behaviour for Mac OS?

Looks like this is a software issue (in part at least). By installing this simple script:
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/29024/antipop
you can keep it from happening (more than once). The script keeps the audio system from shutting down, so you only get a pop on startup and that's it. I still don't know if this popping is normal behaviour or points to some faulty hardware.

  • Popping/clicking sound when recording in garageband 09

How do you take off the clicking/popping sound when recording in garageband 09

  • Recording/playing LP records thru spdif-pops, clicks sound is AWE

!!! Anyone have this same experience and found a solution? I upgraded to latest software/drivers. If not, guess I'll go back to RCA jacks. Thanks, Marty

It is not clear what you are asking, stereo is just a grouping of two two mono tracks and the EMU0404 is presenting you with your two channels of input each on a separate channel strip.
The Pan knob on each strip controls how much of that strip is sent to the master output buss left and right channels. So for the left channel input set the pan to full left and for the right channel input set the pan to full right. The resulting output bus will remain "stereo" and should be routed out to Wave 1/2 or to an ASIO (always stereo) output channel.
If you do not set the pan knobs differently (say you left them both in the middle) then each input channel would end up in the master bus on both channels. Thus you would have converted your stereo input to a mono mix on output.
    Good Luck.

  • Every time I scroll, there's a clicking sound coming from the top left corner of my macbook

Similar to the clicking sound of my hard drive, every time I scroll, or whenever there is any sort of animation on my screen, there's a similar clicking sound coming from the top left corner on my , around the area where the microphone is. I know the hard drive is at the bottom right corner, so is this a graphics card issue or am I overlooking the issue?

It is better to take the MBP to the Apple store for evaluation.
They have the diagnostic tools to make sure that there is no problem with the computer.

  • IPhone 5S, iOS 7.0.1 Keyboard Click Sounds

    Hey guys,
I am having an issue with the Keyboard Clicking SOunds. It is really hard to pinpoint exactly when or why they stop. I always have my volume turned up. But occasionally, I will be typing and there is just no sound. It is not consistent.
    Anyone else epxeriencing this?

Same problem here with an iPhone 4s and iPad 3. I'm not sure if it had already occured on iOS 7.0.0-7.0.3, but it definitely occurs since iOS 7.0.4.
Rebooting the device fixes the problem temporarily, but after a certein amount of time, the system sounds (including the 'click' when applying the smart cover to the iPad) are turned off.

clicking sound comes on my iphone 4 while taking photos even when iphone is in silence mode...Please help me out to solve my problem

The iPhone has a 1 year warranty. Restore the phone in iTunes with the latest iOS to remove the 'gray market'. You will then have to send it to your close friend, at your expense, to take it back to the Apple store in Toronto to have the phone looked at. Then your close friend will need to send the phone back to you, at your expense.
I would also sudggest that you send your friend a sim from your carrier in India. This way after it is fixed/replaced he can try the sim at the Apple store to ensure that it is unlocked.
    Good luck.
