Iphone 4s bluetooth will not autoconnect.
Why will the bluetooth on my iPhone 4S not autoconnect to accessories. It connects perfectly if I manually connect.
Been there done that, as the expression says - more than once.

Before using the Hands-free system, it is necessary to register a cell phone in the system. Perform the following procedure to register a cell phone.
1. Press the OFF hook switch .
2. Select “ENGLISH”/“FRANÇAIS” by operating the “TUNE/TRACK/CH” dial. Then “WELCOME!” will be displayed.
3. Press the “TUNE/TRACK/CH” dial or the talk switch .
4. Select the “RECORD NAME” menu.
5. Say the name to be registered.
6. Select the “CONFIRM” menu. After “CAR M_MEDIA” is displayed, a pass key is displayed.
7. Input the displayed pass key into the cell phone while “PKY: ****” is displayed. If you input the correct pass key, “PAIRED” is displayed and the registration procedure is finished. If you input an incorrect pass key, “FAILED” is displayed and the registration procedure was not successful.

IPhone 4 Bluetooth will not pair with Jawbone Icon, Jawbone 2
Just got my iPhone today and am more or less thrilled to have it. The only problem (other than the antenna issue, which the bumper fixes beautifully) is that Bluetooth will not pair with any of my Bluetooth devices. When I turn on Bluetooth on the phone and turn on the headset, iPhone says it's "searching.." and "now discoverable" but it never discovers anything, let alone pair up. The Bluetooth on my MacBook recognized the iPhone and I was able to pair them, but no luck on the Jawbones. Sounds like a JB problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has had this problem and if there's a fix via the iPhone.
On the icon, turn it off and hold button down while sliding the power switch on. This should put it in pairing mode. Then go into your i4's bluetooth menu and give it another go. Also, Jawbone has recently updated the firmware for the Icon so you need to load it as well. I have the icon and a Jabra cruiser and both work/paired fine. You may want to try rebooting phone and retrying as well.

One further clarification. I am most concerned with connecting with BT in automobile. I can use WiFi to tether to my other devices. I cannot change the car very easily! My iPhone 3G had no connection issues.

When I initially discovered the problem I went to an Apple Store. Genius was excellent but requested that I check with VW. VW people were very helpful. A mechanic had an iphone 4s. He came out to the car ... He could not pair my phone but he could pair his phone ... So, it's the iphone ... Back to the Apple Store ... the genius was really good. He replaced the iphone. Great ! So, back out to the car & it would not pair, still. So ... can't be the phone , right. Back to VW. The Audi manager had an iphone 4S. He paired his phone with my car. He could not pair my phone to my car. He tries my phone in a new 2011 GTI sitting on the lot ... my phone pairs with it just fine. So ... it's my car. So ... make an appointment to get the bluetooth module replaced. They replace the Bluetooth module. My iphone will not pair. They end up pairing 2 different iphone 4S to my car ... but not my iphone 4S. My iphone 4S will also not pair with another 2010 GTI they have in for service. Though the 2 iphone 4S
pair with the second GTI just fine. They even try pairing my iphone with a brand new 2012 GTI in the showroom ... yep ... it paired fine. So ... ????????????????
They are going to update my nav software next (tomorrow), Hopeful ??? not really ... Will be taking my computer to Apple Store next ... maybe if they can discover why it will not pair to my MacBook Pro it will lead to a solution for the GTI ??? I'll get back to you. -
IPhone 4s Bluetooth will not connect with my 2009 Mercedes S550
My 2009 Mercedes S550 will recognize my iPhone 4s via Bluetooth and then will connect but then I get a message on my phone that it is incompatible and then the car and phone don't recognize the other. Car says 'phone is off' when it is not. Any ideas on what to do? It has worked for 2 years with a 3GS iPhone and the other operating systems.
I took my phone to the dealership and they were able to get it to pair. They did all the pairing from the phone side. They activated the bluetooth receiver on the car and then went into the bluetooth settings on the phone to pair it. It works fine now. Regarding the ringtone...my wife had a similar problem and it was the ringtone she had selected on her phone that was causing the problem. You might try changing your ringtone to see if you still have the same problem.

IPhone 5S, bluetooth will not pair up with my Oticon Streamer 1.4 device
My Oticon Streamer is a bluetooth connection device to my hearing aids. I know it's working because my desk phone rings thru the Oticon to my hearing aids. Works fine.
I've been trying to pair up the iPhone 5S and the Oticon. Briefly, the phone recognizes the Oticon, ask for the password (which is 0000), get a message to make sure the Oticon is turned on (it is), and cannot pair. Any ideas?This support document provides the Bluetooth profiles that the iPhone supports. I have an IPhone 5 and the bluetooth will not stay connected with my 2011 Chrysler 200. I was told by Chrysler service department that it is a problem with the IPhone 5. Is there an update or a fix so i can use the bluetooth in my vehicle?
Iran uses GSM, so the iPhone 5 will work. It is already unlocked. Just put local Iranian SIM in phone.

I have the iPhone 4. I recently switched from PC to IMac. I am trying to sync my iPhone, but iTunes will not let me add or remove anything. Do I need to change a setting since I changed computers? I try to add songs from my music into my phone section and it will not go... Plus the playlists on my phone are not updated on my iTunes phone on my computer. Its like it never updated. What am I doing wrong??
Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.
When you sync to another it will delete the current content.
Make sure you have copied everything from your old computer to your new one first. -
The unlocked IPhone 4S models will not be available until November, Why is that? Why would Apple do that? I should be able to buy a factory unlocked Apple iPhone 4S when it comes out! I travel all over the world, and so that is why I need one like that. It is unfair to the consumer, and frankly turning away customers like myself willing to pay high dollar to Apple for their product, who can I speak with to complain about this, because I know their are factory unlocked iPhone 4S' sitting in a warehouse somewhere just waiting to be shipped, and I want one. I know why, cause Apple signed contracts with each carrier so the carrier could increase their sales making customers sign 2 year contracts, I get it, I own my own business, but the delay of releasing factory unlocked ones is just not right and I should be able to buy one without having to buy it over in the UK where it is unlocked when it comes out right away, I should be able to buy it in my own country! These business practices we practice in the US need to stop, their is a demand that needs to be met with consumers like myself who don't need subsidized iPhone's with 2 year contracts with carriers and don't mine paying full price for an unlocked one, it is unethical in a sense, forcing the customer to buy it with a carrier contract and NOT giving the customer the option to buy it full price and own it themselves, OR, making the consumer wait a month for that option to be available. THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!! THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO!!!!!!

But making me wait a month for an unlocked one, puts AT&T, Sprint & Verizon's interests before mine, and that is not right, for it is MY money that keeps you guys in business, so my best interests should come first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I understand your frustration, but when any form of rationing is required you have to prioritise. The number of unlocked vs packaged phones will be quite small and the number of unlocked buyers wishing to upgrade immediately will be smaller still. Against this you have the corporations sharing $billions between them.

My Iphone and Ipad will not pick up my new email messages..for the last few days...I have tried deleteling the account (a number of times..) and setting the account back up? and it still only picks up the old messages? Anyone else having tis problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

Sorry for the length. Trying to give all info I can.
Summary: Had to get motherboard fixed under factory warranty which included new hard drive, and reinstall everything on an HP DV7 laptop. So this is a clean installation of everything on the laptop (Win7). Configuring iTunes and Outlook 2010 for two iPhone 4S users (myself and wife) was my last step. Re-established each user account to iTunes. Calendar synch problem popped up on one of two iPhones that did not exist before.
Prior history: all synchs worked great prior to the clean install and I never had a problem.
Config: Windows 7, two iPhone 4S, Week Calendar apps on both. All software up-to-date on iPhones and Win7 (fanatic about that). Had OL2010 PST datafile backups and simply used them for the OL re-installs. OL2010 makes that easy. Each user has their own Win7 login to keep our stuff separate. Of course, OL has Calendar as part of its install.
Week Calendar apps on both are configured with same calendars (Calendar, Home, My Birthdays, Work). Verified each iPhone Calendars app, Calendar button: From My PC listing has all these checked: All From My PC, Calendar, Home, My Birthdays, Work; Other: Birthdays.
Difference: In using iTunes to synch, iTunes said the iPhone account was different from the OL account and asked to merge or replace. Apparently this is normal for iTunes on a new install (since basically it is) synching to prior synched stuff.
iTunes settings for both: Connect iPhone for each user and checked INFO settings for Contacts and Calendars.I used “selected calendars” and verified. Each user has all four calendars checked.
NOTE: Prior to each users first synch below, neither user had anything in OL2010 Calendar. Can't blame on recurring events problems in OL. ALL the events are on the iPhones and are being synched TO the PC to populate OL2010 Calendars.
Additional Note: Contacts was already loaded into OL from my backups so synching has no problem.
User 1 iPhone: Success 1st try.
In iTunes, selected “merge info” instead of replace.
Results: User 1 synched fine from iTunes to OL2010 including the 4 Calendars (Calendar, Home, My Birthdays, Work). 4 calendars showed up. No problems at all. Wonderful! expected behavoir.
User 2 iPhone: Still failing to synch.
In iTunes, selected “replace” instead of merge info. Apple’s dialog is incredibly confusing and non-explicit on what copies to what and what it does.
Results: User 2 synched fine from iTunes to OL2010 for Contacts. DID NOT synch the 4 Calendars (Calendar, Home, My Birthdays, Work). Only calendar that shows up in OL is Calendar and it doesn’t contain any data. iTunes has no errors and the synch status bar indicates everything went fine.
Tried: I deleted the PST files and copied the backup files back to OL to start over. ITUNES no longer gives me the merge info versus replace option. I’ve synched multiple times but the calendar data will not synch.
Not Tried: Creating the same remaining named calendars (Home, My Birthdays, Work) in OL and trying again.
ALL suggestions is greatly appreciated.Ok, new info. This gets better and better.
In OL2010, the Calendar in the navigation pane had no arrow indicating it had subcalendars within it. I right clicked on Calendar and chose New Calendar. It gave me a list of the existing calendars that were missing !!
When I cancelled, there was an expand arrow next to Calendar in the Navigation pane !!!!!
Expanding it showed the unchecked missing calendars. I checked them and synched again.
WRONG THING TO DO! ALL my wife's calendar entries in her iPhone since the laptop went down 3 weeks ago DISAPPEARED. No warnings, nothing at any step of this process. The OL files overwrote the iPhone data.
I can't find any way to get them back as this **** iStuff relies on iTunes for everything.
Is there any way to get her files back from before this synch?
Is there no way to save data files off the iPhone w/o iTunes?
Why doesn't iTunes let you control the direction of data transfer?

I'd start off your troubleshooting process by deleting and redownloading the songs:
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
Download your previously purchased song from this list.

If so, you may find the calendar sync options under Info.
