Iphone 5 Breaking .

On new years eve, my iphone 5 went green then turned off. When i put the charger in it did not respond and turn on as usual . So i decided to do a ' hard restart' it responded and came on as usual. Then about a minute later went red and shut down. I did several hard restarts after this and it responded turned on then went  funny colour on the screen with werid patterns and contiuned to turn off. Finally in the end it turned on and everything was back to normal. Then yesterday it was doing the same thing but thankfully it came on again but the screen had a mild shake, after tapping the Iphone Several times the shake stopped. Today my iphone has done the exact same thing and now all it does is turn on and go werid colours and turn off again. It now will not turn on. I have had this phone for a week and 1 day . I have never dropped it and has no scratches and has had no potential accidents to break it. What is wrong with my iphone and how can i fix it? I think I shall call my provider and ask for a replacement but just to make sure I have asked this question to see if anyone has any help or opinions?

You can try restoring it and see if that makes any difference:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
but from the symptoms I'd wager you have a defective iPhone which will indeed need to be replaced.

  • Old iPhone breaks?

Say if your old iPhone stops functioning correctly after the new iPhones come out and you need a replacement will it be the new iPhone or the old Iphone? Just wondering

But then you would be force to pay and additional $10 per month for 3G service, correct?
"No, because the current iPhone models - 8GB and 16GB, do not include a 3G chipset. The 3G iPhone is a future model - it isn't available yet, so it isn't the current model."
What I mean is is if the classic iPhone breaks and all of the stock of that model is depleted, and then the customer is given a 3G iPhone as a replacement, then they would be force to pay and additional $10 per month for 3G service, correct?

  • Why are the chargers for iPhones breaking so easily in the same area all the time?

Me & my family all have iphones. So in that being said we all have our own chargers. But every 4 to 7 months the front end of where the cable begins to break & tear. This isnt the first time it has happened. I think there should be a new design for the cabels in that certain area.

    Tell Apple:
    http://ww.apple.com/feedback
I have never had an issue with a cable nor has anyone that I persoanlly know.

  • If your iphone breaks can you still restore everthing from icloud to a new iphone and if so how ?

Hi everyone my phone recently broke and i had everthing backed up to icloud and not my computer. will i be able to restore everything to a new iphone from icloud and if so how would i do it ? also if i back my iphone up to just my computer and it breaks will i be able to reinstall itunes on a new computer and get everthing from my iphone back ? I was just curious as to which method of backup is better for complete piece of mind if my iphone and computer were to break at the same time (i know that would be unlikely but stranger things have happend haha). hope someone can help me i would really appreciate it .
    Thankyou.

Yes, you can get the data onto a new iPhone. When you first turn it on, you will need to go through the setup screens, one of which asks if you want to restore from a backup. Choose Restore from iCloud backup and sign in with your Apple ID. For a complete walkthrough of each setup screen, see:

  • Adding a contact photo to a contact on iPhone breaks ActiveSync to Exchange

This is a weird one... I have a user who has an original iPhone, we just upgraded her to 2.0 a week ago. She noticed that she lost her contact photos when we replaced her contacts with those stored on exchange. She added them back to the contacts on the phone and everything appeared fine. The problem came when she went to add an email address to a contact (which had a photo). It did not update on the iPhone.
Adding a contact on the iphone synced, and modifying a contact that did not have photo synced. Modifying a contact on the computer (one which was not syncing to phone) synced to webmail, so that part of the sync (desktop to exchange) was working. If you remove the picture, it starts syncing again. Issue persists in 2.0.1.
I will test on a iPhone 3G tomorrow and see if the problem persists on all phones and exchange accounts. Can anyone verify this on their setup? If it is not a problem for you are you using exchange 2007?
    Thanks!
    Setup:
    Exchange 2003 SP2
    Entourage 2004
    First Gen 8GB iPhone
    Workaround:
Either remove photos, or disable active sync for contacts, enable syncservices to sync to OS X address book, and sync via cable.

UPDATE: OK, today I tested with 3G iPhone, and there is no issue at all syncing (in fact, the contact picture appears as an attachment to the contact if viewed in webmail).
I then setup another 1st Gen iPhone to the same exchange server, add a photo to the contact, made a change to the contact, and have the same problem -- no sync after photo added, syncs when photo is removed. I even deleted (from Entourage) a contact that I had added a picture to on the phone, and that change did not go to the iphone until I deleted the photo (Waited about 5 minutes). About 20-30 seconds after deleting the photo on the contact, it recognized that the contact was deleted from the exchange side, and pushed the deletion to the phone where it when poof right before my eyes like it's supposed.
This is kind of baffling since you'd think the software is the same between the first gen and 3G after 2.0, but the problem is very re-creatable for me...]

  • Yearly recurring meeting created on iPhone breakes iCal sync with exchange

I encounter a reproducable bug with Snow Leopard 10.6.1's iCal stopping sync with Exchange 2007 SP1 (Update Rollup 7), as soon a i create a yearly recurring meeting on iPhone 3GS connected to same Exchange Server via Active Sync.
After creating this meeting, syncing in iCal is broken, reporting following error:
    iCal[31968]: GetCalendarItem operation failed
iCal[31968]: error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=0x117a06cc0 "iCal kann keine Ereignisse im Kalender „Kalender“ aktualisieren."
    iCal[31968]: Queue operation failed
iCal will never get synced anymore, until this one meeting is deleted via iPhone, OWA or Outlook. Please note: E-Mail and contacts still sync without problems.
Can anyone having a similiar setup confirm this to be problem!?
Where can i "report" this officially to apple?
    Used versions:
    Mac OSX 10.6.1
    iCal 4.0 (1362)
    iPhone 3GS 3.1.2
    Exchange 2007 SP1 Update Rollup 7
So everything up to date, except for exchange 2007 missing some fixes...
To better reproduce this, here's the procedure:
On iPhone create a new meeting, make it "whole day", set recurring to "weekly" and voila, next time you sync iCal it stops with exclamation mark!
After testing, delete the meeting, but make sure to delete ALL instances, otherwise syncing won't work anymore:-(

    Hello all there,
i was strubbeling with the same problem, but i found 'a' solution.
Let's hope that apple would fix this in the next version of iCal.
If iCal is saying that it cannot be synced, and you found an error like this "error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=...." in your console, try this (read carefully).
    *What i have done.*
    1. Get an pc with MS Windoos en MS outlook in your exchange network (yes really, you need it)
    2. Open MS outlook (i used 2007).
    3. Export your calender to a .pst backup file
    4. Then navigate to "View > Current View" and hit "all events".
    5. Select all events then delete them all
    6. Import your backup file to the calender.
    7. From step 3 to 6, they are waste of time.
*So... what you need to do*
    01. Open iCal and remove your exchange account.
    02. Get an pc with MS Windoos en MS outlook in your exchange network (yes really, you need it)
    03. Open MS outlook (i used 2007).
    04. Then navigate to "View > Current View" and hit "returning events".
    05. Note all of your returning events in notepad (also events from the past).
+You can also delete these events from the past+
    06. Now delete all these "returning events".
    07. Press the send and recieve all button in outlook.
    08. Grab a cup of coffee
    09. Start iCal and re-setup your exchange account.
If your exchange account is syncing with iCal then you can recreate the returning events. If it isn't syncing try to remove some other data, but be shure that you have created a backup file.
In my case the error was in one of the returning events, but i have figured that out to delete group of events en try'd to sync again.
Please note that my 3G iPhone was syncing very good, at time of this problem.
This are the console error messages:
11/6/09 06 Nov 15:16:26 iCal[291] Couldn't find an NSTimeZone to match the SerializableTimeZone
11/6/09 06 Nov 15:16:26 iCal[291] WARNING: Failed to find TimeZone Identifier for Windows MeetingTimeZone: Casablanca
    11/6/09 06 Nov 15:16:26 iCal[291] error = Error Domain=CalExchangeErrorDomain Code=-11 UserInfo=0x11a287ee0 "iCal can’t refresh events in the calendar “Calendar”."
    My setup:
MS SMB 2008 with Exchange 2007 (full updated till 2009/11/06 - today)
    iPhone 3G 3.0
    Mac OSX 10.6.1
    iCal 4.0 (1362)
So.... i hope that you can fix your problem with my post.

  • IPhone break on backside; becomes very hot!

    Hello,
I had a terrible unlucky accident with my bike 4-5 days ago, and since then, there is a deep scratch on the backside of my iPhone 3GS.
I just noticed that after I just checked if everything was allright, my iPhone become very hot and I had to turn it off because I was afraid that it could explode or something.
I restored my iPhone, disabled all services and just tried to install some Apps but then again it became very hot, so i turned it off.
I don't know what to do. Should I send it to Apple? Or, how can I ask if I get a replacement for my iPhone?
I tried to use the Online Support, but there is no point where it says that iPhone gets hot or something.
I'm from germany, so sorry for my english! Tried my best
Maybe anyone knows what to do, and if I could get help by Apple?
    Thanks and all the best!
    Thomas

I am getting the same problem, I'm going to my local Apple Store to see if they can help me. I'll let you know what I come up with.

  • In 15 months I've had 3 iPhones break on me...

I haven't had much luck with the iPhone: numbers 1 and 2 broke within 12 months of purchase and were replaced without question. iPhone 3 broke 3 days ago and I took it to the Apple store today, and I found out since it's more than 12 months since purchase and that I don't have AppleCare I will have to pay £140 to it replaced. After examining the phone they tell the fault is not due to user damage, i.e. it hasn't been dropped or immersed in water etc
They tell me that I'm just unlucky and since I'm outside the 12 month purchase time / don't have Applecare and don't want to pay £140 there is nothing they can do for me, so I'm stuck with a useless phone.
iPhones 1 and 2 both failed with the same display fault which rendered them unusable, and iPhone 3's home button failed, meaning that after starting an application I'm unable to exit it and reach the desktop without restarting it.
It just doesn't seem fair - is that it?

I found this post from May 23rd. Not sure how to show it to you so I have copied and paste. Hope it helps. Michelle

New! How to Repair IPhone 3G Home Button
Posted: May 23, 2010 10:24 AM Reply Email
After about 1 year, the Home button on my iPhone 3G became unresponsive. I tried AT&T and Apple and was told I would need to purchase a replacement for another $200. Since I had nothing to lose, I did a small disassembly and made the repair. If you are out of warranty, maybe you can try it too. It is quite easy actually:
    1. Remove the two screws from the bottom of the phone.
    2. Using a small suction cup on the bottom of the screen, carefully remove the screen panel. There are connections at the top of the phone, so only pull out the bottom to avoid any damage to those connections.
    3. Look for two small copper tabs on the underside of the screen near the home button. Those copper tabs have mating connections on the lower circuit board. After a time, those copper tabs become permanently bent upwards so that they don't make good contact with the lower circuit board.
    4. Using an exacto knife or similar, carefully bend the tabs back down so they make good contact.
    5. Reassemble the screen and screws. Hopefully the home button will now work.
    Good Luck!

  • Using VIP-Contacts on iPhone breaks banner notification for non-VIP mails

    Hey,
as soon as I add a VIP contact in Mail (iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1), the notification settings for VIP contacts are working nicely. However, for mails coming from non-VIP-contacts the normal notification settings are fully ignored, i.e. no banners etc. Is there a way to have special VIP notification settings but still have the standard notifications for all other mail, or is the observed behaviour an intended "feature"?
    Cheers,
    Claus

    Update!
It seems the 2.1 iPhone update fixed this problem – at least when checking via VMware and Outlook.

  • Help - I think my Iphone breaks my headsets

    Hi !
I hope maybe some of you can help me !
3 days ago I was listening music on my Iphone 4S with my monster beats when, all of the sudden, left side of my headsets stopped working well. In fact, it was still working but sound was 3 times lower than on the otherside. I 've tried them on other iphones and on mp3, radio, etc. but it was still lower on the left side.  I thought it was because my headset were old so I took my other headset (Senheiser HD438, barely used) but after 2 days the same problem affected my Senheiser .
I wonder what could be the cause and what should I do ...
Thank you for your help !!!

Unlesss someone has had physical access to your phone, it has not been hacked.
More likely your email account has been compromised on your PC or through your webmail.
Clicking noises and dropping calls are not related to email hacking.

If my iphone 5 is broken, can I send and receive texts through imessage on my mac?

    Use the Messages app.

  • Is it true that the white iPhone breaks faster than the black?

Curious , I want the white one , but then I'm hearing then the black doesn't break as easy .

I don't think anyone can say for sure... there are slight differences in how they manufacture the glass for the white color vs black... but in my opinion there is NO difference onhow easily they'd break.
There are also some great warranty's that cover damage and even liquid spills and full immersion you could purchase for pretty cheap that can ease your mind...
    Apple Care Plus is one
    Square Trade is another

Of course You can also add your iPhone telephone # as a trusted device.
This way when you insert your SIM card into any phone, Apple will automatically recognize your cell phone # as a
trusted device (may be handy if iphone breaks but you insert SIM card into another phone).
    HOWEVER:
Having also your iPhone as a trusted device, is convenient if you travel and use a different SIM card
at destination. This way you can still use the iphone for verification, even though you are using a different
    phone #.

  • PrePaid iPhone customers cannot get broken iPhones replaced

so i went to the Apple Store the other day... and asked this question:
If my PrePaid iPhone breaks, how can I get a new one to replace the broken iPhone?
They pretty much told me I am screwed, and one staff member actually used the F word about the situation... Apple, dont want to sell prepaid too much over in aus, so my only option would be to get a contract, which i dont want...
Now that Apple dont really want to sell prepaid iPhones any more, there is no option for me...
So, I I break my iPhone now... Apple will refuse to sell my a replacement iPhone without a contract in Australia...
SO... ultimately, if you are not willing (or able) to get a contract with the main networks, you’ll have to forfeit your PrePaid iLifestyle that you’ve got used to and get back on your old standard mobile phone! Ridiculous right!?

Welcome to the real world where you don't get everything that you want.. If you break it you should have to pay full price for it if not more.. That's my opinion.. If I dropped my iPhone and it broke I would be fully willing to buy another at full price.. You know what the best part is about the real world though?.. If you don't like something or don't like what comes with it.. DON'T BUY IT.. it's really an extremely simple concept

  • What happens to old iPhone users

To all AT&T or Apple employees out there on Apple Discussions,
Let's say, hypothetically, my old first generation iPhone breaks, and it is still under warranty (and it is replaceable by the warranty). What happens? Won't Apple have to give me the new 3G as a replacement? But will my plan remain the same, or will I have to upgrade just because my phone broke?
Also, is there an easy way for earlier iPhone owners to upgrade to the new 3G (I am expecting to fork over some money to do this, but it would be cheaper/easier than just buying a whole new phone with a new number and new plan)?
    Thanks,

You will get a first generation iPhone. They have plenty for repair/refurbishment issues.

You do it like everyone else. Go to an Apple or AT&T store. You can keep your same number.

  • IPhone 3G: Wireless adapter problem

    Hi there,
since two days I have problems connecting my iPhone to my wireless network. We have two iPhones and severals other devices in our home network and every device is still working, except this one iPhone.
Is there any chance that the wireless adapter in the iPhone breaks without anything happening, like I didn't drop the phone or something like that. It's just the wireless not working anymore, the network is detected but once I enter the password, it says it cannot connect. Even turning the encryption off doesn't help. The other iPhone still works perfectly.
Has anyone an idea how I can verify that the hardware itself is still working properly?
    Thanks and regards,
