IPhone 5 location option for reminders

My husband just upgraded to an iPhone 5 and his reminder menu doesn't come up with remind me "at a location" like my 4S does and my co-workers iPhone 5 does. I've check to make sure his location services are on. Thoughts?

No I don't think he has his own contact card set up. What's the easiest way to do that? I have that on my phone but I'm not sure how I did that.
Oh is that under "my info" in general settings?
First, have him set up a contact card for himself.  Include all the relevant information, particularly his work address and home address as well as the phone numbers, birthday, spouse and kids names, etc. Be as complete as possible, since this information will be used by several apps, including Siri, Find my Friends, and Reminders.
Once that is done, go into Settings, General, Siri, and and set the "My Info" to his contact card.

My sim card is inserted and when I turn the iphone on it only gives the option for emergncy calls, when i connect to itunes it says the phone is locked and i need to enter the passcode on the phone but i cannot enter pass cose on phone as it doesnt give me the option.
    Any ideas?

You're gonna have to force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. If you cannot turn off your phone using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When your phone turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • Mavericks mail default location option for adding attachment

When I am writing an email and want to add an attachment, I have always used the paperclip icon to do so, and my desktop would appear as the default option as a place to select the attachment. Recently this has changed so that the default option still says 'desktop' on the side panel but instead displays my itunes library. If I go to my home then back to desktop my actual desktop is displayed, but I'm wondering why itunes is appearing as my desktop, and how I can fix this so that my default option for adding an attachment is my actual desktop.
    Thanks!

    I partially agree and disagree.
I agree with concerns but disagree as it is causing a bottleneck for agility and effectiveness addressing user needs.

If we are concerned about disk space, then I feel we need to provision hard disk space and nourish the SAP Community Network to be effective and improved.
For example:  Business Objects products often deals with reports and users often enquiry ways to cleverly use our tools.
Imagine how unproductive users find the forum messages when everyone is trying to describe what they see in their screens.  And how much misunderstanding happened among all those involved in the discussion of the thread.
It didnt' take me more than a few months to realize that users are all crying out for ways to add a descriptive image into their forum message.
Some are clever and add a link to an external location, some leave their email addresses and some leave their phone numbers!
The other challenge is for Chinese,Korean and Japanese language users.  An Asian user seeking for help is unable to describe properly in a foreign language to gain visibility for wider audience, often they are not familiar with the naming of the functionality in english because he/she may never have seen the menus in English.
I recently observed a user describing a problem there were 14 notes back and forth for a very simple matter, it took 3 days.  I believe a screenshot with a red circle would have helped in one shot.
I suggest files to be allowed and filters put in place distinguishing file formats to allow right content.

  • No 'Location' option for Adobe Partner Services in PSE 9 (Mac)

I'm trying to run some prints and photo books off through the Kodak Gallery option in Photoshop Elements 9 on my Mac, but it is sending me to the US Kodak Gallery website.
If I need to do this on my PC it is easy, I just change my 'Location' to be the UK in Preferences > Adobe Partner Services, but in the Mac Preferences there is no 'Location' option to change.
I've reinstalled a couple of times, but no joy. Is this just another thing that is missing in the Mac version of PSE9?
Thanks for any help on offer out there. Mike

    Hi Mike,
On MAC, the location option is not present under Preferences->Adobe Partner services. Instead it is present directly under the preferences. It will be present at  Preferences->Adobe Partner Services Location. Please tell if you are able to find this option.

No problem. Here is what I hope is a reasonable explanation.
You have iTunes on your PC and you can also use it on your PC.  This could be regarded as the central store or central point for all your data/music etc.
You can then have stuff on your iPhone and your iPad and each could have different stuff on it depending on available capacity depending on what you need.  You can either put stuff on them from iTunes or just download to them directly. If you put stuff on them from iTunes, then you obviously also have it on iTunes. If you download directly, a copy of what you downloaded directly, should also download into iTunes automatically. Again, iTunes is your central store.
iCloud allows you to back up each of your devices in the cloud (Apple's storage area), iPhone, iPad and iTunes, automatically, just in case you have a problem and need to recover something.  For example, although my iPhone is backed up within iTunes on my computer, it is also backed up in iCloud.  A couple of months ago, I had a problem on my iPhone and went into an Apple Store to talk to them about it. To my (unprepared) surprise, they replaced my iPhone and gave me a new one.  Whilst sitting in the store (and being connected to their wifi), I could then restore all my iPhone stuff directly from iCloud.  This is everything apart from some data like music which I would have to do from iTunes.
Finally, iCloud also allows you to automatically transfer things from one device to another such as photos (photostream), contacts, reminders etc. - in such a case you could think of it as a syncing system.
I hope that this all helps.
All in all, use iTunes on a PC, keep it up to date and backed up if you can.
(proviso - this is not an exhaustable list nor 100% accurate but it does give a good summary of how it all works)

  • No location options in Reminders

Upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.0 last night without any upgrade issues.
Noticed today that the Reminder application doesn't have the option to set a location based reminder and that "Reminder" isn't listed in the Location Services settings...any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • TS1398 After the 6.0.1. update on my iPhone 4s the option for wifi has greyed out and cannot be selected. What can I do to restore wifi?

I have held off updated my iPhone 4s with the 6.0.1 but having problems connecting to wifi I thought maybe being out of date was the problem.
Having done the update the wifi option is now greyed out and cannot be selected at all.  I have rebooted, forgotten networks and turned on and off so many times.  There is nothing wrong with the wifi at home as other devices connect no problem.  What can I do?

I'll repeat the Apple support pages linked in the previous post:

  • Location services not allowed for reminders iOS 8.1

    Hello!
just noticed there isn't trigger to turn on location services for reminders app on my iPad.
So seems I can't use the location based reminders on my iPad, isn't it?

I have a 3rd-gen iPad WiFi + Cellular right here with me and location services are supposed to work even when Cellular Data is turned off and there's no SIM card installed. From your screenshot, it looks like location services are indeed working, but the Reminders app is not listed.
I can tell you that on my older 3rd-gen iPad, it looks exactly the same: Reminders is missing from the location services list and I can't schedule location-based reminders. And this iPad has just been setup as a new iPad (not restored from a backup) using iOS 8.1. So it doesn't appear to be a settings issue.
For testing, I've re-inserted the SIM card that I had already removed from this older iPad, unlocked the SIM and restarted iPad. But no dice - Reminders is still unable to use location services. I would report this to Apple support, maybe it's a bug that can be resolved.

  • Location Services in Reminders - Not Working

I'm having issues with my Location Services for my iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.3. Whenever I try and tell Siri a command such as, "Remind me to grab my checkbook when I get home." Siri always responds, "Before I can do that, you'll need to enable Reminders on your iPhone's Location Services."
The problem is that I've enabled the Location Services on Reminders over and over and over again, and yet, anytime I try and get Siri to set up a reminder, it always disables the Location Services behind the scenes and gives the same response, "Before I can do that...".
I can manually input a request with Location Services for Reminders. It's only when I try and use Siri to set up a reminder, that I have any issues.
    Anyone else

Responding to an old thread here, but this is because of the way applications that use location services also use the data from Skyhook...
Skyhook is a service that records the MAC addresses of Cell Base stations/towers and wireless access points.
Google Maps vehicles records the wireless AP data at the same time they get street view images.
There was some controversy over this - but they effectively record the location and the MAC address of any AP they find as they drive round. This gets sent to a massive database at Skyhook and is used to either locate without GPS or enhance/aid the GPS information. It's also why the location is always the road outside!
If your location/MAC relationship has not been mapped by Skyhook, Google or others - then the good news is that you can add it - although it can take a month or two at least - to work. The reason is that it depends which database is being used by Skyhook's clients..
Add your Wireless Access Point (or Wireless Router) here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php
The main website for Skyhook is here: http://www.skyhookwireless.com
    Hope that helps...!

  • Find my iPhone app has stopped working correctly and when trying to locate that device from my iPad its online but can't locate but locate option is on for that device

i have new issue for find iPhone app.  everything always worked up until recently.  to locate that device from my iPad as always, it says that device (my iphone) is online but cannot locate.  but phone is in hand and locate option is on

Reset the iPhone: Hold down the home and sleep button, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.

  • Upgraded to ios6. Now my location services options show up as a shadowy image, and I can't access them. The only icon on is "find my iPhone. Is this for real?

I upgraded to ios6. Now the location options do not work (under privacy settings). I can only access "find my iphone". I am using a number of apps that use this function. Is this because of the default switch to apple maps?
Is there no way to geolocate images anymore, using the camera on the iphone?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

  • Bought an Airport Express in Slovenia, planning to use it in Moscow. When configuring, Moscow is not an option for location. I ticked Ljubljana for set up; got green light, but network not working. Is choice of city the problem?

While on vacation, I bought an Airport Express in Slovenia, planning to use it in my Moscow apartment. I plugged everything in, seem to have followed the directions properly for configuration - except for one thing.  Moscow does not come up as an option for location. So I tried ticking Ljubljana (Slovenia) as location (since that's where I bought it). The cycle seemed to have worked, I got a green light on the Airport Express, but the network didn't work.  I tried going in to change the location, and chose something called Universal, but the network still didn't work.
Is the fact that Moscow doesn't come up among the options going to be a problem?  Or is it possible I am doing something else wrong?
    Anyone have any insights?

AirPort Utility for the iPhone, iPad, etc does not support the older version of the AirPort Express that you have.
Try installing AirPort Utility on the Lenovo laptop to see if you can configure the AirPort Express that way.
If the laptop runs XP SP3 or Vista SP2.....use AirPort Utility 5.5.3 for Windows - Support - Apple
    Windows 7....use AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Windows 7 - Support - Apple
Remember that the SB5101 modem must be fully reset before it will associate correctly with the AirPort Express. That means pressing the reset button on the back of the modem (if present) and powering off the modem for at least 30 minutes, then connecting it to the AirPort.

  • Options for using iPhone 3G and Hotmail Outlook Connector to sync contacts?

I reviewed some posts on this topic and searched other forums, but still have yet to see a real solution to this problem.
I am using Win XP and Outlook 2003 with the Hotmail Outlook Connector to manage my Hotmail account. My default calendar and contacts DB in Outlook is located in the same mailstore as the Hotmail data. This is not POP or IMAP as unfortunately Hotmail requires it's own protocol (Outlook Connector) to manage the email account.
Also Hotmail will NOT allow any creation of a .pst or data file to store data that may be synced with a 3rd party device.
Can someone please assist me with finding a solution so that I can continue to use my Hotmail account, with Outlook 2003 and simply synch my default calenday and contacts data with my iPhone.
Note: I had a client with a similar issue using an HTTP/RPC Exchange mailbox and also an IMAP GMail connection in the same Outlook client. We simply made the Exchange account default and stored all contacts/calendar data there. The iphone synchs this data perfectly and the client and iPhone utilize both mailboxes perfectly.
Outlook Express is not an options for me. Thanks for helping.

  • I cannot see the option for face time of open and close in iphone 4s

Plzzz tell me no facetime option for on and off is nott comming in settings help me plzzz

There is no FaceTime app for the iPhone if that's what you're asking.  FaceTime is accessible through your Contacts as one of the options in how to contact a person -- there is no standalone FaceTime app for iPhone.
If you mean how to disable FaceTime, you can do that in Restrictions (Settings/General/Restrictions).
