  • Since the last update to IOS my Apple 4 runs out of battery in 3hrs or less What is causing this?

Since the last IOS Update, my Apple 4-S goes dead within a 3-4 hour period..  I was told by Verizon that Apple is coming out with another "Update" to correct that problem..   My Apple 5 doesn't seem to have this problem..   How soon is this problem going to be corrected?

    Hello mncamp,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you're having an issue where your iPhone 4's battery seems to deplete faster than you expect.  Please take a look at the article below for tips on optimizing your settings to maximize the batter performance on your iPhone.

  • Since I updated to IOs 5 (ipad1)my battery runs out extremely  fast. Any suggestion?

I updated to IOs 5.0.1 a few weeksago, and now my Ipad runs out of battery too fast. I have to recharge it every day, even if I didn't use it. In addition, it has become very slow, any suggestions? I already stopped notifications, localization, push email and other things, whitout results. Thanks for your help

    Two other things to check.
Bluetooth seems to get turned on with the update, do you have that on?
Also, despite what it's supposed to do, wifi syncing happens whether or not the device is plugged in. Do you have wifi syncing enabled? If so, if you have your iTunes open all the time, the iPad will try to regularly sync anytime it picks up iTunes. mine opened my iTunes 3 times in a single evening before I disabled the 'open itunes when device is detected' option in iTunes. So if wifi syncing is on, check your sync settings. It may be syncing almost continuously, draining your battery.
You can set the settings to either not open iTunes when device is detected, or to not automatically sync if iTUnes is open.

  • I use a third-party charger (Sharper Image) for my iPhone 4S. Before today, it worked fine, but it hasn't been working lately. I've gotten lucky sometimes when the phone would charge, but when I take the charger out and stick it back in, it won't charge.

Any tips on how to fix this? I don't think my phone is the problem; it's something in the charger. I just don't know what?

Yup - that would work as a test. What you want to do is to isolate the problem, so if you can test that cable with a different device, that would be the ticket.
Just an aside....I have found that even my authorized Apple USB cable that I use normally for my iPad, is not always being recognized by my iPhone since I downloaded iOS 7. If I remove it and reconnect it, after one or two tries, it does recognize it. I know the cable is fine, because as soon as I get done with the phone, I plug it into my iPad (running iOS 5 - it's an iPad 1....) and it, without fail, connects.
So, I think with iOS 7, the connection logic is a bit more sensitive and sometimes is just not making the connection when it should. I am certain that it is iOS7 because the issue very clearly started occurring after I upgraded. It's a bit annoying, but eventually it always works, so just a bit of a nuisance. Just wanted to share that with you in case a couple or three tries might get it to connect.... (this also is happening with my Bose speaker that I dock my iPhone on to play music during the day. Again, I am certain it started happening after iOS 7, so the two seem to be connected to me....)

  • HELP!  I got a new iPhone and want to download my music from my computer so I don't have to down load song by song on my phone.  iTunes Match won't let me copy it from my computer.  What do I do?

I have iTunes Match and it's been fine until now. I'm trying to download my music to my phone so I don't have to use the wifi to play it all the time.....but iTunes match won't let me copy from my computer without shutting it off. If I do that then turn it back on then I lose all the music anyway.
I'm so frustrated and can't download song by song to my phone.
    help.

If you mean you want to sync your music from your computer to your iPhone you need to disable iTunes Match on the iPhone. Go to Settings > Music and set to iTunes Match to OFF (not green). You may need to wait a few minutes for the change to register with iTunes. Connect the iPhone via USB/Thunderbolt and sync the music.

  • IPod Touch 4 battery running out too fast (iOS 5.0.1)

First, I apologize for my English. I upgraded to 5.0.1 iOS 2 weeks ago and the problemstarted yesterday: the battery is lasting about 12 hours on standby, which is very strange. Wanted to know if this is happening to someone else who is in 5.0.1 and if you have any solution.

I have had this same problem. It all depends on the apps im on apparently. If im on a texting app my battery is drained if i just listen to music my battery lasts all day.

  • Iphone 4 update to ios 5.1 twice?!

I updated my iphone 4 to ios 5.1 a few weeks after it was released from iphone software update in settings, not through itunes.
presently when the phone is connected to itunes and i click on check for updates: everything is up to date.
however, now that i want to restore the phone, itunes tells me the phone does not have 5.1 installed and i have to download it, install it, then restore.
restoring the phone in an attempt to fix an issue with itunes:  if i purchase an app i get a warning about other apps that cannot be downloaded at this time, then the app icon appears with waiting underneath until i remove it.  this has been going on for months.  i have read other threads and tried everything but nothing works.  leads me to believe the fault is on apples end not the phone, but i havent tried the restore yet.

I'm updating to IOS5 for iPhone4 but stalled half way at stage "iTunes is restoring software on this iPhone" for more than 3 hours. How can I stop it and restore back to previous load?

If you mean you are having trouble activating your iPhone after
    updating to iOS 6:
    iOS 6.0.1
Generally this is a sign that the iPhone had previously been
hacked/modified/jailbroken and the update relocked it to the
original wireless carrier. If this is the case, only that wireless
carrier can unlock your iPhone. You must contact them to see
if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
My phone is from USA and unlocked version and I paid 750 USD.
Where did you acquire this iPhone?
    USA
What wireless carrier did you use before this problem?
I used BSNL - India previously. After I get problem, I used Mobily -Saudi Arabia again I got problem and I am trying to use Airtel - India.
Does the app Cydia appear on your iPhone?
    What does It mean?
What does it say when you look at Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

If you're having issues doing the update directly on the phone, try using iTunes on your computer to complete the update.
Ensure you've done a backup & imported any photos or videos from your camera roll first, just in case something goes wrong.

goodnight. as you know apple has evolved considerably until today but there are people who do not have ability to buy new products. in my case I would like to know why the apple do not let the iphone 3g update to iOS 4.3 as are several applications that can not put on my iphone 3g due to this reason. Why does not Apple make a repository with applications for ios 4.2.1? or else do not work in an update to ios 4.3 on iphone 3g?

This has nothing to do with Apple, as Apple does not make the apps.
This is the decision of the app maker.
Contact those app makers and ask them why they do this.

  • No Photos on my iPhone since Update to iOS 5

I made the Update to iTunes 10.5 on my Notebook with Windows XP and the Update to iOS 5 on my iPhone 3GS.
I had a lot of Problems (the Backup had an Error, my outgoing Mails were all deleted in all Mail Accounts, the Synchronisation of Music and Apps needs a lot of Synchronisations and a lot of Time and so on) with these Updates and I need more than 12 Hours at the Moment to repair all the Errors.
    My last Problem is:
There is no Synchronisation of Photos between iTunes 10.5 and iPhone with iOS 5.
I can not see my Photos in my iPhone.
The Capacity in iTunes 10.5 shows 4,4 GB Fotos on my iPhone, but in my iPhone, there is no Folder in the Photo App and so I can not see the 4,4 GB of my Photos.
This Problem comes with iOS 5. I had this Problem never before.
First, I gave in iTunes a OK for a Home Sharing of Music, Videos, Photos and so on for the Folders and for the iPhone.
Second, I was in iTunes in Photos and deleted the Check in the Folder Photos.
Third, I made a Synchronisation with iTunes and the iPhone.
Fourth, the Capacity of the Photos was then only at 0,17 GB.
Fifth, I close iTunes and switched off the iPhone.
Sixth, I started iTunes and iPhone new and bring both together with the USB-Port.
Seventh, the Syncronisation started and the Capacity of the Photos in iTunes was at 0,17 GB, too.
Eigth, I set a new Check in the Folder Photos in iTunes for a Synchronisation.
Ninth, the Capacity showed 4,4 GB again.
Tenth, the Synchronisation started and showed on the Display "2 Photos of 16.000".
Eleventh, the Synchronisation Circle stopped after 10 Seconds, but the Notebook worked 2 Minutes longer.
And after this the Synchronisation stopped appruptely / crashed (?) and the Photos are "unvisible" on the iPhone.
    Is this a known Bug?
Has Someone a Solution for a correct Synchronisation of the Photos, so that I can see successfully my Photos in my iPhone again?
Thank you very much for your Help!

    Hi rickwebby,
If you are having audio issues with your iPhone after updating to iOS 6.1.3, you may want to update to the recently released iOS 6.1.4 and see if the issue persists:
