IPhone 6 Model A1586 (GSM)

How can I buy an unlocked iPhone 6 Model A1586 (GSM), online on the apple.com - delivery to be in USA?

Unlocked phones are not yet being sold in the US.
If you order a phone from apple.com, you must have a valid US credit card, billing address and mailing address. Warranty would also only be honored in the US and you may not get 4G/LTE service in any other country.

  • What are the difference between Model A1586 (GSM)* and Model A1524 (GSM)* as shown in the apple website?

    Hi,
I would like to ask about some information on iPhone 6Plus
Can i know whats the difference on these two models between Model A1586 (GSM)* and Model A1524 (GSM)* as shown in the Malaysia apple website?
If its different, then the product which consumer wanted to select, will it be all the model same price in Malaysia?
    Thank you.
    Your sincerely,
    Nick

"why should Apple manufacture the 2 models as different models?"
Apple doesn't manufacture two models with the same model number.  The "1429" iPhone can utilze either the GSM or CDMA protocol, depending upon the carrier's system.  In the US, Apple offers an unlocked "1428" iPhone 5, for use on GSM networks.  I live in Bangkok, and Apple - and Premium Resellers - offer the "1429" iPhone, which can be used on either GSM or CDMA networks.

  • Model A1586 (GSM) vs Model A1586 (CDMA).

    Hi everybody,
I would like a clarification on Model A1586 (GSM) vs Model A1586 (CDMA). What is the difference and how can i specify that in the online order?
Does both models support both GSM and CDMA or not? I would like to use my phone to other EU countries so will my decision of GSM or CDMA affect coverage?
    Thanks

    Hi Peter,
thanks for your  reply but I was not referring to ordering the phone from the US and apple.com.
In addition I do know the difference between GSM and CDMA and do not need to use google on this one.
My question is simple. From Apple.ie store I can order either Model A1586 (GSM) or Model A1586 (CDMA).
However nowhere in the online site it is specified how to select the GSM or the CDMA model.
Also having used the online support chat from Apple they claimed that both models support both CDMA and GSM which sounded strange.
So becuase I am going to pay approx 700 Euros, I would not want to end up with a phone that does not support the networks intended to use within Europe.

  • CAD model of GSM/WCDMA phone

    Hi ppl,
I am doing a research as part of my diploma thesis on the effects of GSM/WCDMA RFR on the human body, especially the head.
I'd like to use real-life CAD models of phones in the simulation (instead of generic models) to better reflect real-life conditions, but of course I can't find them anywhere. I've tried to model the phone (N6120 classic) myself, but the |S11| and SWR parameters are far from being optimal
Does anyone know whom I should contact at Nokia to obtain these models? (one model would be plenty enough Also, any CAD format would do..
And I guess writing to Nokia support won't help in this matter.. someone please help..
    Thanks to everyone in advance!

  • Iphone 6 64GB (model: A1586) + Sprint Carrier  + have paid full price of 749 USD (excl taxes in Nov 2014) = Unlocked or Locked Iphone 6??

    Hi all,
How should I start. Will try to keep it short and to the point:
I was in US in Nov 2014 for work
In Nov 2014, I have purchased on online Apple Store US in first instance an Iphone 6 64GB (model: A1549) with T-mobile carrier (unlocked version) for a price of 749 USD (excluding taxes & etc)
Upon arrival at Apple Store at Monterey, CA, to pick up above purchase. I had discussed with Apples sales person that I lived in The Netherlands and that latter purchase should be compatible on the Dutch mobile phone carrier: Vodafone and that  full LTE-capabilities would work in The Netherlands.
This Apple Sales person had advised me that I should purchase a different model and should change from model: A1549 to model: A1586.
He showed me this website: https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/. Based on this site and his expertise, I believed him and have changed above model and have purchased an Iphone 6 64GB (model: A1586) with Sprint Carrier for price of 749 USD (exl taxes & etc)
I have read so many stories online, that I am screwed with this above purchase, because I have purchased a simlocked Iphone and that I will not be able to use this phone to its fullest capabilities and also not workable with my Dutch simcard of Vodafone.
I kindly ask your expertise opinion, whether my Iphone 6 64GB (model: A1586) + Sprint Carrier  + have paid full price of 749 USD (in Nov 2014) is sim-"Unlocked" or sim-"Locked" Iphone??
If "Locked", are there any solution to have it unlocked since start of, I think, Jan or Feb 2015 Sprint carrier will be selling unlocked Iphone 6. Prior to latter date, it doesn't say whether they will apply this retrospectively for other phones as well.
If "Unlocked", please confirm how I can check this? If I look at the current price for the Iphone 6 with the Sprint carrier and 2 year contract. This combination is being sold for 199 USD (excl taxes). I would think that my Iphone is unlocked since I have paid 749 USD (excl taxes) in Nov 2014.
Please, please help me guys...I guess this is lesson learned for me the next time to do a better research before buying any Apple Iphones in US to be used in Europe (in this case The Netherlands).
Thank you in advance for your help and taking a look into this issue.

    Hi Peter,
I did insert my Dutch Vodafone simcard on the Iphone and it works.
I read on some newsgroup that at some point I will not be able to make use this phone, because Sprint would give a certain window to activate the Iphone and if you don't do it, then it would lock the usage of any simcard beside a Sprint simcard. Due to latter, I got nervous and wanted to check this to be sure that there is no need to get stressed all about it.
Indeed, you are right, just checked the model of my Iphone 6 an can confirm is a (CDMA) Sprint MG6G2LL/A.
I am not sure what you mean whether I have "activated" my Iphone. For my understanding, could you please explain what you mean with "activate"?
Did I need to follow certain procedures on the Iphone? I just took out the Sprint carrier simcard when I came back to NL and just popped in my Dutch Vodafone simcard on this phone and was able to internet with LTE and receive and make calls.
When I purchased this Iphone in US, there was indeed a Sprint carrier simcard in the iphone. I never did anything with this Sprint carrier simcard.
I had only made of use of this Iphone in US and in The Netherlands:
of its (free) wi-fi capabilities on the road during my stay in US and
had tested it in US by inserting a Dutch T-mobile simcard and a Dutch Vodafone simcard in this Iphone.
And I was able to calls and receive calls with both Dutch simcards on this Iphone in US.
Upon arrival back in The Netherlands I was able to make use of the 4G/LTE capabilities.
But did find out that sometimes it would act weird and therefore I had linked it that it was due to the Sprint simlock.
Based on above facts, what would your answer be? Did I miss something else that I needed to take account on?
And to be frankly, looking at the paid price for the Iphone 6 64GB of approx 749 USD (paid in Nov 2014) and the price offered for a Iphone 6 64GB icm Sprint subscription would be 299 USD (as of today, Jan 2015). I would assume that I have unlocked version. Wouldn't you agree on this?

I want to buy the iphone 5 A1429 GSM model. I want to buy it online from Austrian Apple store. How do I ensure I get the right model?

That's the only model iPhone 5, sold by Apple as officially unlocked, in Europe. Thus, if you order an officially unlocked iPhone 5, that's what you'll get.

  • I bought unlocked iPhone 6(A1586, MG6J2LL/A). It is for sprint. I am currently AT

I bought unlocked iPhone 6(A1586, MG6J2LL/A). It is for sprint. I am currently AT&T user. My new iPhone6 does not recognize my AT&T SIM card. Does it mean the iPhone6 is still locked. Can I use this iPhone6 in China?

Well, of course this new iPhone will not recognise an AT&T sim card in it - you purchased a Sprint phone which is a CDMA carrier and AT&T is a GSM carrier, so no, you CANNOT use a Sprint phone in the US with AT&T.  The 2 are not compatible and if you had wanted to use AT&T as your carrier, then you should have purchased an unlocked GSM phone and NOT a CDMA phone, which Sprint is.
Yes, the phone is unlocked, but it is the GSM portion and sim card tray that is unlocked for international use, so yes, you should be able to use the phone in China with a local Chinese sim card.
You can use the phone in China, but you will NOT be able to use s Spring CDMA phone in the USA with AT&T because they are a GSM carrier, so that is why an AT&T sim card is not recognised in a Sprint phone because the 2 are not compatible.
Perhaps you should have checked more closely when you were buying the phone that you were in fact purchasing the correct model?  Verizon and Sprint are both CDMA carriers, with AT&T and T-Mobile being GSM carrier.  Check before you buy next time so that you make sure that you buy the right phone.

  • International Unlocked iPhone 6 A1586 for Verizon or AT&T

    Hi guys,
    This is the case:
I am about to purchase an iPhone 6 in China (Model A1586 CDMA Version). This phone supports all bands of 2G/3G/LTE that the US Versions (A1549 CDMA Version and A1459 GSM Version) support, according to http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/.
So, theoratically, it should work with both Verizon & AT&T.
However, still according to http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/, this model A1586 does not have AT&T or Verizon in its "Supported LTE Networks" section. Only Sprint is there. On the other hand, it does support the Chinese carriers with CDMA/LTE (counterpart of Verizon) and with WCDMA/LTE (counterpart of AT&T) according to http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/.
    So my question is:
Simply: Can I use the iPhone 6 A1586 purchased in China under Verizon or AT&T when I come to the United States?
Theoratically: Why does A1586 supports all the bands technically but does not have Verizon & AT&T in its "Supported LTE Networks" section?
    Some additional info:
I know that A1586 is also sold in the United States and is locked with Sprint. That is the reason that it does not work with AT&T/Verizon, but I do not know if that is the only reason.
The A1586 sold in China obviously need not to have a Sprint lock on it. So if the Sprint lock is the only reason, then I guess I can use the iPhone under AT&T or Verizon.
    P.s.:
Do not worry on locks. The Chinese laws prohibits phones to be locked with any carriers.
Do not worry on warranty. I know I can only repair the phone in the country I buy it. But I have to travel frequently between US and Asia.

Verizon won't activate phones not sold for use on on Verizon's network. I've heard reports that, if you have a Verizon SIM that's already active, you might be able to use the non-Verizon phone. However, I wouldn't count on it.

  • How can I buy a model A1586 in US?

I want to buy a A1586 iphone 6 because I wanna use TD-LET in another country. But the iphone 6 sale online is model A1549. How can I buy a A1586? Can I buy it in store?

Yes, I'm talking about a Apple Store in the US and yes I have the A1586 model. I'm not sure if the iPhone works at an GSM network in India, because I'm using it in europe.
This are the specifications from the apple store website from model A1586:
    Model A1586*
    CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    TD-SCDMA 1900 (F), 2000 (A)
    GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29)
    TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40, 41)

  • Does my iphone 4s support GSM service?  I recently upgraded to this smartphone from a AT

Does my iphone 4s support GSM service?  I recently upgraded to this smartphone from an AT&T Non-smartphone and now I am not able to access data coverage at my cabin upnorth. AT&T says I only have GSM coverage in this location.  Is there something I can do to make my iphone 4s do to pick this service up?

That model shows as non-CDMA iPhone 4s
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
It will support GSM. You will have to work with your carrier to
get the signal improved. In the past, with AT&T, if you complained
enough they would provide you with a MiFi device - but that only
helps if you have an internet connection already in place.
Your problem may be due to the remote location - particularly if you
are not in cell phone range due to lack of towers. But the responsibility
belongs to the AT&T. Is the problem that you can make/get phone
calls but do not have enough bandwidth for streaming video/audio?
Or is there no connection whatsoever?
