Iphone adds extra letters when messaging, emails etc.
It doubles the number of certain letters and occasionally offers a selection of several variations of the same letter when I type the letter. Also when I try to open Aps it frequently blinks with delete x.
As a workaround, I've just disabled iCloud contacts syncing and am using Gmail for my primary contact database instead... as I already uploaded the entire .vcf there anyway. But it would still be great to figure this out.

Keyboard producing extra letters when typing and impacting system performance
I’m having some issues with my Mid-2010 MacBook Pro 15. The Apple tech guy was baffled at the symptoms I was experiencing; he was unable to help (the MacBook Pro itself has not been inspected) so I thought I would see if anyone else had a view as to what the issue could be. I’m happy to fix it myself if possible (I’m quite comfortable with doing repairs/upgrades/general maintenance on Macs and PCs at large) and would rather avoid a hefty fee from the Apple store or other repair services if it can be avoided (unless the error is due to faulty hardware where Apple will fix free of charge).
The issue lies with using the internal keybaord. Most of the keys on the keyboard work just fine, a couple don’t, however when I use the internal keyboard it significantly slows down animations (i.e. clicking on the Applications icon on the dock will take a good 5-7 seconds for it to finish the pop-up). There hasn’t been any liquid spillage or suffered from any falls so I’m not quite sure how this problem came about. These are some of the issues/symptoms I’m having which may help in a diagnosis:
-Shift key is stuck and the Mac will boot into Safe Mode on its own. Holding down the Option key upon pressing the power button until the spinning gear appears will allow the Mac to boot normally. I can use an external keyboard and the Mac runs just fine. However, if I use the internal keyboard....
-Animations run slowly and it cannot load graphics programs such as iMovie. (An error message pops up, but I do not have this latop with me at time of posting this to find what it is. If you need to know what the error message is, let me know and I will post it here when I get home). Even though I’m in ‘normal mode’ for less of a better term, using the internal keyboard will result in the Mac performing like it is in 'safe mode' until…
-Pressing any key on an external keyboard. The slow animation issue is resolved (i.e. clicking on the Application icon on dock pops up in less than a second as per normal) and the Mac will return to running as normal and everything is very responsive. iMovie will now load correctly (without the error message).
-Some letters when pressed on the internal keyboard will type another letter directly after it (e.g. If pressing ‘q’ it will type as ‘QT’ (in caps due to the Shift key being stuck), same for pressing ‘t’ will display as “TQ”. This also happens to ‘a’ as it will type ‘AB’ and ‘b’ where it will display ‘BA’. In total about 6 or 7 keys around the keyboard are affected where pressing one key will result in it being typed in caps AND a second correspoding letter. Pressing that second corresponding letter will also type in caps and it's "linked" key.
-Selecting individual files with the track pad (after pressing a key on the internal keyboard) will pick multiple items within a folder as if you were clicking and dragging to select multiple files. If I click on one file and move the cursor (without holding the click or ‘touch to drag’) to a file below, it will select everything between the two selections. Pressing a key on the external keyboard returns everything including the track pad back to normal
I’ve performed a clean install of Snow Leopard which took a little longer than usual. The install disc took some time to actually load into the installation screen, roughly 5-7 minutes longer. The external keyboard doesn’t appear to work on boot up until I get to the log in screen. I’ve cleaned inside Mac from what minimal dust was there. Finally, I’ve been unable to reset the PRAM or SMC as the laptop boots into Safe Mode due to the Shift key being stuck and the external keyboard not being recognised until I reach the log in screen to enter my password. Other keys don’t appear to be working (i.e. holding down C to boot from disc and other key commands on start-up do not work), the only key on the internal keyboard that appear to work on boot is Option which allows me to bypass the 'auto-safe mode' boot.
I’m quite sure this is hardware related and if feasible I will fix myself, if not I’m happy to use an external keyboard (except when needing to perform boot commands which is where I’ll run into some issues).System specs are as follows:

I’d appreciate any possible answers you have. Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I’m quite sure this is a unique issue so I’d be surprised to learn someone else has had this problem too after all the hours of research I’ve done!
Thanks.lol, I was going to add "as long as it's not doing that all the time" ...but was hoping for the quick fix. You might want to check your Activity Monitor and see which program or background process is causing the activity ...have you installed anything lately that coincided with this problem? You also might want to try booting into Safe Mode to see if things still persist.

Editing a reminder in iCal adds extra fields when it appears in Reminders iPhone app
When I edit a reminder in iCal, it adds a whole bunch of fields to the Remidner when I open it in Reminders on my iPhone such as due date. How can I prevent that from happening?
I too have noticed a similar problem.
When I create a reminder on my iPhone 4S (and begrudgingly set a time, even though I want it to be all-day), it shows up in my iCal (Lion 10.7.4) as created the same day.
However, if I want to edit this reminder in iCal (i.e. delete the timed 'On a Date' message that comes with it…), the date you put–in the best way that I can desribe–has a "-1 day" attached to it.
Scenario:
You create a reminder on the iPhone 4S for Today, 5/29/2012.
In iCal, you:
1. change the date to 5/30/2012. Nothing happens (because 5/30/2012 -1 day = 5/29/2012).
2. change the date to 5/31/2012. The reminder changes to Tomorrow (5/30/2012).
3. change the date to 5/29/2012, which should do nothing, but changes it to Yesterday (5/28/2012).
Any reminders created in iCal do not have this problem.
I'm hoping that this will all get fixed when Mountain Lion comes out, and reminders becomes it's own separate app on the MacBook. I really do hope they put a field for all-day, otherwise I will seriously reconsider the use of reminders. -
Extra Attachment when sending email from iPhone
Everytime I send an email from my iphone to someone in my office, and they view it on their PC (Outlook) or on their non iOS phone, there is an additional attachment. Is there a way that this attachment can be removed prior to sending, possibly in the settings of the iPhone?
it seems its a virus, because its abnormal to see attachment on your email without you didnt attach a pic,
try to update your IOS, otherwise you can rest all factory settings at your settings---general---reset---reset all settings, if it doesn't work backup your iphone on itunes on pc then do Erase All content and Settings.

Itunes had an error and shutdown while updating my iphone 4. Itune tells me my phone is in recovery mode and I must use restore before im able to use itunes. I cannot do anything on my phone now. It shows icons telling me to connect to itunes. I want to know if I restore my phone do I lose any photos and that were not backed up yet? or What happens to my contacts and phone numbers?

I am trying to update my wifes iphone5 to her macbook. The macbook already has her old iphone4s information. I would like to set up a new id for her so that I can keep all of the information on her phone and get rid of the old stuff on her macbook now. Is there an easy way to do this now. I have an account on my laptop and dont sync with my macbook so it doesnt really matter to me with my iphone5, but i would like to start fresh with hers. It seems like every time I go to sync it i get a message that there is already an account under that user name. Can i keep the same user name and start fresh with what is on her 5.

Apple Wired Keyboard adds extra 9s when I type 0, 8 or 9.
After buying my new Apple Wired Keyboard, whenever I have typed a 8, 0 or 9, sometimes other 9s will be auto typed, or it will sometimes, if I type one of those 3 numbers, if I wait for a few seconds, another 9 will appear.
You have a faulty keyboard. Return it and get another.

When my wifi is off and I'm away from my home connection - it shows wifi off (unless I turn it on to check my email etc.) - and in the settings cellular it shows "voice only". Will I be able to receive and send texts in those settings? Or check voicemail. I had wanted to keep my email from coming in all the time and only want to check it periodically - so I turn ON my wifi when I want to check my email. But when my wifi was off away from home- I hadn't seemed to be getting my texts. So- do I need to keep wifi roaming connected when away from home to receive and send my texts in real time. (which is what I want) or am I still able to send and receive texts with my wifi off when I'm away from home. (When I'm home I am connected to my home data plan automatically through wifi and I get texts when I'm home - but I'm thinking I'm not getting texts in real time - is it because my wifi is off when I'm away from home? My cellular shows voice only when my wifi is off away from home. Am I doing it right to receive and send texts away from home? Or do I need to open up the wifi in order to receive and send text messages. I know that I would need to turn on wifi roaming - which will use data - for email checking or sending - as well as to use browsing apps and now I'm guessing to receive voice messages I may have missed? In order to send and receive SMS or MMS messages, you will need to have an active cellular data or Wi-Fi connection.
You will need these to send and receive iMessages:
An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
iOS 5.0 or later

I have an iPhone and use Roadrunner as my email server. When I open RR it gives me 4 choices, inbox, drafts, sent and trash. I would like to add saved, how can I do this. I contacted RR and they said it is an Apple problem to solve.

I can no longer send photos in an email from my iphone 5. It uploads the photo the the "mew message" page and then it freezes! I can use safari and check my emails, and when the email part is frozen I can still use the rest of my phone. Any advice ?!?

I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close.
