Iphone drops wi-fi

I have both an iPad2 and an iPhone 4s. My iPad NEVER looses connection to the Wi-Fi, but my iPhone looses connectivty everytime it goes to sleep. They appear to be setup the same way (use the same SSID, same security, same users name, same password)
help please.

well there, i have too faced the similar problem in my family everyones fot iphone 5 and 4, but myself have 4s. so its only me that was facing the problem of dropping wifi when locked or sleep. all the devices are either OTA or itunes updated to the latest IOS software. so i tried all the means but none worked but recently i went to Apple community and read out some articles about setting wifi connection. well now i tried to change the ssid of my network from the default ssid to something unique or to said something unique name, rather than have same either NETGEAR, CISCO, LINKSYS OR BELKIN whatever comes as a default generic company given name. so after changing it, it stopped putting the wifi into sleep mode. and now its on forever. hope this posts helps, as it did to me.
Try improvising with your apple......well i as well set out mine to static IP and auto Http proxy leaving the url empty.

It's broken.
Take the device to Apple and purchase an Out of Warranty replacement for $269US.
Put it in a case and be more careful going forward.

WAP371 iPhone dropping connection

Hello there,
The WAP371 works like a charm, the only strange thing im noticing is especially iphones dropping connection very fast.
I have disabled bonjour, put a static channel, set it to WPA2 and disabled energy safe mode plus disabled Bandwidth utilization. Im using no VLAN's just one simple SSID. This due to inactivity is nonsense, the iphone is still in the same spot.
The only thing i can see in the logs is the following.

To make it even worse it looks like its doing this almost every minute when the iphone is in 'standby':
Why does it keep dropping connection? WHen i put an airplay express next to the WAP371, it stays connected all the time to that so this must be a WAP issue.

Iphone drops gsm and wifi with certain apps s.a. maps

Some apps where the iPhone drops gsm and wifi signal:
e.g. In google Maps, I want to download a map of my region by typing th command “ok maps” into the map's app search bar and tap search. Dowloading starts, but then the iPhone drops gsm and wifi signal before the download is complete, then the signals come on again after a couple of seconds.
e.g. in google+ idem drops gsm and wifi signal, which come on again after a couple of seconds.
How come and is there a solution?

TS1398 iPhones drop wifi even with full strength signal.

I am running ios 6.0.1 I have a Duel band wifi 2.4 and 5. Iphones drop wifi regularly. I can get back on wifi by going to settings, shut off wifi then turn it back on. But that is not the point. Why does it drop? iPads connected on the 5 band work fine. . All was fine with iOS 5. Does any one know why? The fix??

I can relate to this problem but with a twist. I bought 2 (32gig) ipod touches last week and have a strange problem with the wif fi dropping out. One of the ipod's works perfectly with great range and little drop out, the other identical ipod touch continuously drops the wireless signal and I keep having to log on constantly, which is a real pain as I am using the ipod for home automation and media control. Wondering whether to take it back for replacement. Has anyone any ideas here please ?

Iphone dropping wifi then reconnects while on skype or viber but not netflix

while on call in skype or viber at home, my iphone 4 would drop the VOIP call, wifi icon immediately switches back to 3G then after 2 seconds switches back to wifi again(I never have to go connect again manually, it always comes back by itself). All happens without any intervention, and once the wifi icon comes back i can dial skype call again. This could happen 3 or 4 times on a 30 mins skype/viber call.
I have a 1st gen 3G iPad as well and I use it to watch movies on netflix, it has never dropped the wifi like that even after watching movies for more than an hour. Its just very strange. I've search around the internet and people who have iphone wifi drop problems always have to go reconnect to wifi manually or restart the phone to connect, which is not my case. I've also tried resetting the network settings on the iphone, didn't help.
I have 2 PCs, a Macbook pro, and a PS3, all using the same wifi connection, and like the ipad none of them have any problems with the wifi at all (not all connected a the same time, i usually have the MBP and the 2 iOS devices connected at all times). And for the iPhone, the wifi drop seems to isolate to Skype and Viber calls only. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? by the way, i have never tried VOIP call on other wifi networks other than my house, so I don't know if this is because something is wrong with my equipment at home. VOIP call on 3G network when wifi is not available doesn't have any problem.
I have a AT&T iphone4 on 4.3.2, wifi is through a Linksys router (g i think), I'm also using an AT&T microcell that 70% of the time doesn't even show up on my iphone. Thanks!

I have the same issue with my Iphone4, never had this with my Iphone 3gs. I have tried a different router (I have a d-link and a netgear) and no difference. I read on another forum that bluetooth might interfere. Yesterday I ran a test and after I turn bluetooth off I did not have any dropped Skype calls. before this my Skype call would drop or I would have a really bad connection about 8min or so into the call. I think this is because the iphone will start up bluetooth and it interferes with wifi. I am not 100% sure this cures the problem but it might.

IPhone drop down menu not showing in iTunes

whenever i connect my iphone to itunes it no longer shows the drop down menu anymore (music, movies, tones etc..) under my iphone on the left side of the screen, i have to click that little arrow, i prefer for it to be just there when i connect it. does anyone know how to fix this? thank you

Same issue. It just says iPhone with no options below it. When I drag content to it, the menu appears and disappears quickly but I can't click on any of the options.

I am living in Vietnam and my iPhone 5S Had been dropped in water, now it is not working any more. Since in Vietnam don't have Apple store, so can i ship to Apple store in US for refurbish/repair? what is the process for that? Thank you very much

If you purchased the iPhone in the US then you will have to return it in person if purchased elsewhere You will have to return it to the Country it originated in person for any service

IPhone dropped in water

I dropped my iPhone 5s in water. It was submerged for 3-4 seconds. I didn't turn it off immediately. The screen was scrambled and the I tried to turn it off. After 3 minutes, I put it in a bag of rice. What else should I do?

Did you wipe it dry before you put it in rice?
Put th bag with the phone and rice (it is raw rice?) in a cool, dry place, such as a cupboard. Leave it there for 4 - 5 days. Do not turn it on, do not connect it to power.
After the time above take it out of the bag, blow off the rice dust, make sure the Lightning connector has no rice in it. Connect it to your phone charger and let it charge for at least a half-hour. While it is still connected to power reset it. Might take several tries. If it is then working correctly fully charge it.

IPhone drops wireless when downloading

I have a strange fault. I have bt home hub 3 infinity and although speed is fairly variable to the time of the day it usually is connected. Except for on my iPhone. And then only when I'm downloading! If I try to download an album the wireless drops in and out relentlessly. On the iPad its fine, on the laptop it's fine, on the iPhone it is a nightmare. So the phone is at fault right? Well, no. The fault occurred on my iPhone 4, but I just upgraded to the iPhone 6 and guess what - the fault is still there! This means the fault is not the phone, but the way the connection is being run. I've been googling around, I've tried changing channels but it made no difference. There's a lot of bt home hubs where I am so I think maybe the 2.4mhz channel is swamped, but it drives me mad. I'm starting to think maybe I ought to cancel BT broadband and go with Virgin to see if it fixes the problem. Can anyone shed light on this issue?

have you tried changing wireless channel also changing ISP will not solve the problem as they all use the same wireless channels

HT1476 My iphone dropped dead all of a sudden. I can use it in the afternoon, however when I tried to charge it in the evening but not able to charge it. Please help me.

my iphone (3g) was given by my daughter who used it for 3 years. She did charged it everynight, however, when she gave me this iphone at Christmas, it was working properly and the batery last at least 5 to 6 hours when I used it continueslly. Last Monday, I used it as usal in the afternoon, work fine but when I tried to charge it in the evening, it will not able to be charged as usal. Is it possible to drop dead all of a sudden?

Need help with iphone, dropped it and screen is "white"

I dropped the iPhone last night, not too hard even, but when I picked it up there was a "line" on the side of the screen and the rest was blank/white.
I can't turn it off. Is there a way to reset/turn off without seeing the screen?

IPhone dropped in toilet.... finally powers on... but...

2 weeks ago I dropped my Iphone in the toilet. Yesterday I tried plugging it in, and low and behold it powers up. The only problem is the "Slide to Unlock" slider doesn't work. The "Power Off/On" slider works...so I think the screen is working fine. I did a complete reset and still have the same issue.
Is the phone dead or does anyone have a recommendation.
It is the original Iphone.

Your warranty has also been voided, especially now that you've posted it on an Apple-run forum.
Even if you hadn't, if you sent your iPhone in for repair, they would be able to tell it was damaged (with the water sensor) and your warranty would still not cover it.
I'd put it in a bag of rice and give it a week or two. I wouldn't try to take it apart though.

Iphone dropped white screen

yesterday I was using my iphone 3g 16gb and dropped it from a height of about 30 inches. There is no external damage but the iphone just has a plain white screen. I tried to make a call to it efter i dropped it and the phone recieved it but in a very fuzzy tone but i could not answer it due to the screen. I now cannot even make a call to it, connect it to itunes or even get it to respond in any way. I am covered under a limited warranty until July. What should i do? What is my best option?

Accidental damage is not covered under your warranty. Same thing as if you crashed your car, that wouldn't be covered by your auto warranty. Go to an Apple store, make an appointment first, Apple has an out of warranty replacement program, cost is $199. If you do that, the remainder of your current warranty will remain in effect. If you use a third party repair service, your existing warranty will be voided. Apple does not repair phones(except for screen replacement), only replaces them with a refurbished unit.
