IPHONE E-MAIL SMTP

I am trying to get my business e-mail account sent out. The IT guys gave me the POP details but for the SMTP they said use AT&T's...how do I do this? Does that make sense? How do I get those details?

ISPs don't like folks sending E-mail through their SMTP servers unless those sending the E-mail are THEIR customers. Example: A cable company will only allow you to use THEIR SMTP server if they "see" your cable modem at the other end of the line. If they see AT&T's service (EDGE), the block the E-mail send attempt.
Those of us that have been using Dial Up Networking (to a laptop) with our cell phones (or using a Cellular Modem Card in our Express Card slots) have been dealing with this for years. Most folks end up creating TWO E-mail accounts on the mobil device. One for the "home" (WiFi) ISP service, and one for the mobile service.
There is a better solution. For $25 per YEAR, you can have an independent SMTP service that works nearly 100% of the time. I've been using such a service for about 2 years and, once it is set up on my device, I use just one account setup to send and receive E-mail. That service is:

I should explain that I have 5 days experience of the iMac but have had a working iCloud account with my iPad for several months. I don't think this is an iCloud issue as such. My thought is that this is something to do with the Mail application itself and its relationship to my Apple ID etc. (Perhaps when the iMac first configured itself?)
I have deleted and manually reset both Mail and iPhone account settings for iCloud using the Apple recommended settings and I have tentatively checked that the username/password combination is as expected in Keychain but I'm too much of an Apple novice to go any further with that.
On a PC I think I would try reinstalling the Mail programme but I don't see that as an option.

IPhone 4S' Mail's unread e-mail attachments, but where?

I am helping a client with his old iPhone 4S' Mail that shows three/3 unread e-mail attachments. So far, he was unable to find them and even tried to delete some unwanted e-mails and read all his e-mail attachments, but Mail still showed 3/three. We tried upgrading iOS v7.1.2 to v8.1.2, but that didn't fix it. We also tried marking all (about ten/10) e-mails with attachments as unread (were already read) and then read, but that did not help.
What could be the problem? From a quick Google search, it seems like it could be a server problem? My client uses both POP3 and IMAP with two different e-mail addresses and providers (USC's Office 365 [IMAP] and EarthLink's e-mail service [POP3 and SMTP].

The Inbox is the only one that does. Not the sent etc.

On my computer, on Mail-Settings-Account its filled in with my: @me.com and also @mac.com as emailadress. And on Server sent messages (SMTP) with: iCloud.
So I think this should be right...?
(I cant really view any adress to the left of Inbox at the top).
On the phone (iPhone3), on Settings-iCloud-Account it says @mac.com. When I try to change it to @me.com it says its already connected to that. So I guess it shouldnt matter.
I really cant make it work.
When I had MobileMe, before moving to iCloud it used to be alright...

IPhone 4 mail App not working properly

My IPhone 4 mail app just continues to spin and check email without getting email or sending.
Had the same problem in October after iOS 6 update took in phone and got a new one under 1 yr warranty.( apple and Verizon techs could not figure)
Again the problem is back. The spiny thing just continues to spin and no email update.
If I reboot the phone the email is pulled down but stops again.

Carrier : Verizon wireless
Can not find anything on apple support or anywhere on google
I installed gmail app and all email pulls down perfectly but can not get me AOL email setup
So I know the network is working

I'm getting this too. It's very slow and apparently thinks "Call Sue Newport" sounds like "Call Halfords" or "Call Halyards" and, most surprisingly "Call First Great Western".
I was wearing my Jawbone Bluetooth headset so it's nothing to do with background noise.
I tried the new "What time is it?" command which works but takes about 10-15 seconds to activate.

IPhone deletes mail on Exchange server - how to uncouple?

Whenever I delete company mail on my iPhone the mail is deleted from the Exchange server.
Where can I toggle this? I want the mail to stay visible from my Mac but be cleared off my iPhone.

Edited to reflect it's an Exchange server, not IMAP.

You cannot. Exchange servers operate just like IMAP - the mail lives on the server, and a local copy is synced/cached. If you make a change (like deleting a message) on one device, that change is reflected on the server (assuming you're connected to the internet), and thus on all devices.
One option might be to create a different folder (in Mail on the Mac, for example, but on the Exchange account not local so the phone can access it) - call it Read Mail or something like that. Then, on the iPhone move emails from your Inbox to that folder instead of deleting them.

How to delete the Previous Recipients list in iPhone 3G Mail

I would like to delete the list of previous recipients in my iPhone 3G Mail so that when I search it only shows addresses in my Contacts, not every single random address I may have used.
I know how to do this in Mail on my desktop, and I tried the option of replacing the Mail info on the iPhone with the info from the desktop, but it didn't work.
Anyone knows how to do this?

In my expeirence, the only way to do this is to restore your iPhone, setting it up as a new phone. You can try resetting all settings prior to this to see if that does it as well.
To reset all settings, navigate to Settings > General > Reset.

This response is a little late as I just read about your problem. I have a 2012 Dodge Charger and a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country and both worked flawlessly with the iPhone 5s my wife and I had. However, we just upgraded to the iPhone 6 and Uconnect will receive calls but you cannot answer them. You can callout successfully, however. the annoyance being the inability to answer incoming calls in the HandsFree mode.

These are Apple's tips on this:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

IPhone e-Mail bug: Text cut off below a picture

Hi Guys,
Just discovered a very annoying bug in iPhone's mail client: If you are creating a new e-mail and paste a picture into it, the text below the picture will be cut off completely. So if you have a mail: "text before [PICTURE] text after" then it will only send: "test before [PICTURE]" and the "text after" will be dissapeared to the thin air.
This is rather annoying and I would consider it as a serious bug.

Thanks for your help, I am not convienced if backup and restore would help. In the meanwhile I have found few discussions about this from 2010 -- Apple blames Microsoft Outlook protocol for this, but in my opinion this is wrong. If that is a known bug Apple should really warn their customers about losing data if they try to do that. Or just fix it even if Microsoft broke some RFCs. But yeah, with a message box with the warning "Due to a bug in Outlook protocol you are going to lose your text below the picture. Do you really want to continoue and lose the text below your picture? [I am Dumb Yes] [God No!]" would be sufficient, just do not let me hang and wonder where my text evaporated.

It's possible that your provider has made a change.
I think STARTTLS usually is used with port 587, instead of the standard SSL port 465.
Could you look up your provider's current SMTP settings to see whether your "Outgoing Server" settings need to be updated? If it's difficult to translate between your provider's help page and Thunderbird's dialog controls, you could provide a link to your provider's help page.
