IPhone music volume dropping or attenuating for notification but doesn't return to previous volume

When playing music and videos on my iPhone, the sound drops for notification sounds such as emails etc.. but after the notification sound has played the volume does't return to the previous volume, it goes up again but its quieter than before. If I then turn the volume up I will reach the maximum without achieving the previous level. I've been having this issue since upgrading my iPhone 5s to IOS 8 on release day. My phone is always kept up to date so i'm currently running 8.1.2.
I have this same issue when listening through headphones and blue-tooth. My colleague has an iPhone 6 and is having the same issue.
I've discovered a way to get the volume back up, get another notification, I've emailed myself a few times recently just so I can hear my music in my car (pulling over legally!) without turning the volume right up and hoping nobody emails me and ruins my ears and speakers with one spam email.

I have the iPhone 6 and having the same problem. It can really hurt your eardrums when the sound goes back to normal!!!!

My music drops volume level when I get a notification, and won't return to the volume level it was set at until I get another notification

When ever I get notification from fb/messenger/emails, my music volume lowers by some margin, and will not return to the set level until I receive another notification. I try attempting to turn it up but the volume is at its highest limit.
How can this be fixed? Is anyone else having this problem?

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking theDevices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. ITunes doesn't return to full volume after a phone call

At work I use iTunes on a 32-bit Windows 7 machine. We use Microsoft Lync for phone calls.
My settings are set so that Windows reduces the volume of applications by 80% when I have a phone call. This works just fine. If I leave the music playing during the call, then when I finish the call, it will return to the normal volume.
However, if I pause iTunes during the call, then the volume does not return to normal, and I have to use the volume mixer to fix it. Is there a solution to this?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

New iPhone 3g continuously dropping signal strength for no reason...HELP

Hello. My wife & I have been iPhone users since they few came out. Today I picked up our new 3g's and while her's always maintains a good, steady, strong signal...mine will continuously drop the signal down to one or no bars. This happens in areas where I've always had signal (ie: my house) & I compare her's to mine at the time & she continues to have full 5 bars. Any theories???

Hi - I noticed that, yes, she had 3g "off" & I had 3g "on." Once I turned off my 3g I had full bars. Does this mean that 3g hinders the actual cell signal for receiving calls? Or when 3g is "on" do the bars then only show 3g signal & not the phones ability to receive calls? Thanks!

I have a 2006 Lexus RX330 and want to play my nano 6th generation through radio. Don't want to use 'tape cassette'. What FM transmitters are really good? I have wireless bluetooth for phone but doesn't work for music.

There are so many FM transmitters ranging from $2.00 to $100.00. I have a tape cassette in car and an old cassette adapter that doesn't work well and makes noise. The car has bluetooth wireless for iPhone but does not play music (unless I just couldn't figure this out. I want the best transmitter for city driving, but one that doesn't cost too much. Any success stories?

For anyone following, I looked further into the tape cassette adapter and it seems to get the best reviews vs. FM transmitter. Guess there is a good reason that I have the last year model with a tape cassette. Worth mentioning is the Maxell one gets a better review than the Monter one. Not sure why, but it's cheaper. Anyone else find a good quality tape cassette adapter?

Iphone not being recognized by Itunes for MAC; But works in Windows Vista

My iphone sync with Windows without problems.
But when I plug my iPhone in MAC (10.5.5) with Itunes (8.0.2) the iTunes return: itunes could not connect to the iphone 0xE8000001
It is strange because iPhone connect with iPhoto without problems.
Just iTunes for mac dont work.
This is a brand new minimac.
Any tips?

Which USB port are you connecting it to?
iPhoto will transfer over a USB 1.1 connection, and many hubs are USB 1.1. Try connecting the iPhone directly to the back of the computer.

iPhone 5 was so intuitive before the update. Editing photos has changed for the worst-any word of a fix for editing photos for wallpaper? Not a work around, a fix. If I wanted this kind of photo editing I'd still be using my droid x.
Anyway to go back to ios6?

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite on my Mac, I can only configure my time capsule via iPhone. My Mac cannot locate for backup, but CAN find as my internet router. I have followed all suggestions I can locate and have upgraded to newest version.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.
