IPhone needs to be reactivated every day

Ive gone through some problems for the last week where I need to re-activate my phone everyday, and the re-activation takes about 2 days
The first time, I was getting NO SERVICE, or No Bars, or Full Bars, but with no AT&T Next to it. So every call I made or text I sent, failed.
I was told to get a new SIM Card, I did, had to re-activate the new card. I did..took 2 days..got a text saying my phone was OK, and it was...for 6 hours..Then I had the same problem (NO SERVICE, or No Bars, or Full Bars, but with no AT&T Next to it. So every call I made or text I sent, failed.)
Called AT&T Tech Support who we all know is quite possibly the most horrible Tech Support to sit at a computer, tell me to of course, take my battery out...gotta love that...reboot my phone...and then finally, tell me I need a new SIM...
So Yea, I bit, I got a new SIM, did the same process from above and got the same EXACT results...
Now, my phone just activated again... for how long? Well its 11:47AM EST, and the phone was activated @ 10AM...lets see how long it lasts this time....
ANYONE know whats going on? Or have the same problem?

There should be no reason that your phone should require re-activation on a daily basis or more frequent basis.
Since you continue to change the SIM card and I am not sure that all SIM cards would have the same problem and more paramount, AT&T authorizes all sorts of phones on their network and all of those phones appear to be working it is not an AT&T problem since all SIM based phones would be effected.
I would also guess that the SIM card is a dumb device that does not broadcast and I would also assume that the iPhone does in fact do the broadcast of the SIM identification. Knowing that I would say that there is a defect in the phone when it interfaces with the SIM.
Did you ever change the SIM card out prior to these problems arising or did you at one time try to insert a SIM card backwards or force the insertion?
Not having any technical details to analyze I would say that the iPhone contacts that lay against the SIM card contacts is the basis of your problem.

  • Iphone need to restore almost every day

    Hello,
I have an IPHONE 3GS which I purchased in Italy (open for all the networks).
About a week ago in the middle of the day the iphone suddenly had “no service” sign and I couldn’t get any calls. I tried to restart but it showed the screen “iphone need to restore” – I was than in version 3.1.2 .
Since then I tried to restored it for many times and upgrade to 4.1 firmware. Most of the times I get the restore error 1013. But a few times the restore succeeded and the iphone worked for half a day until it showed the “no service” sign again and I couldn’t use it.
Can anyone please advise me what to do? There is no apple service in my country.
    Thanks,
    Amir

    Hi,
I read the message from the link you send,
On my iphone the IMEI sometimes is unknown and sometimes is 011983006774560 (not the default).
Now i cant even restore it because the i-tune display that there is no SIM card although there is.
    What can it be?
    Thanks,
    Amir

  • Hub 3 needs to be restarted every day to restore s...

    Hi
Every day, our Hub 3 needs restarting to restore our speed. It has been constantly 37+ MBPS for months. Recently, both wired LAN and wireless connections have slowed to 3Mbps.
Speeds checked on BT Wholesale Speedchecker, Lan and Wifi
    All ususal checks completd
Used BT to check the following:
    Line Checked = OK
Problems in our area = 0
Used Inssider to identify wireless channel 1 as clear from interference. Speeds still drop (Both Lan and Wifi)
Reset the Hub and Hey Presto, speedy Wifi and Lan for a few hours.
Wake up in the morning, same old story, slooow infinity.
Reset the Hub and Hey Presto, speedy Wifi and Lan.
Get home from work, slow again, and around in circles we go for another week.

Make a direct connection from your PC to the modem which will eliminate the homehub. Follow this guide to do that. Use your computer as normal for a while to see what speeds you get. If the speeds do not improve you will know it is probably a faulty hub. Obviously you can not use wireless devices or other wired connections when doing this.
Step 1: Remove the homehub from the modem
Step2: Connect your pc/laptop into the modem using LAN1 port
Step3: Open network and sharing centre on windows and click set up a new connection or network
Step4: Connect to the internet then click make a new connection Broadband PPPoE
Step5: Username [email protected] and the password as BT
Step6: connect, If it doesn't,keep pressing try again until it does.

  • Need to Reinstall iTunes every day

I buy a lot of TV episodes on iTunes. However, every time I try to play one, if it's the first time I've played an episode that day (I shut down at night), the video screen pauses for a moment, turns green, and then displays an error stating that the application needs to close. I need to completely uninstall, and reinstall iTunes to get it to work. But then I turn off my computer for the night, and the next day it's the same thing. Needless to say, I'm getting tired of it.
I have re-downloaded the installer, and I have disabled anti-virus software, neither of which did any good. No other programs have any problems whatsoever, so it's not hardware related.
Has anyone encountered a problem like this in the past? Does anyone know what could be causing it?
I'm using Windows Vista x64. (I've tried both the 32- and 64-bit versions of iTunes.)

I never had problems with iTunes before installing the Windows Explorer 8.
Afterwards, several problems have appeared, and as far as iTunes is concerned I need to reinstall iTunes every times my computer is newly booted up.
I think Explorer 8 is the culpritt.
Did anyone solve this problem ?

  • What's worse than leaving your iPhone in a hot car every day?

Plugging your iPhone in to charge +*before you go to bed every night*+..... and I would guess that's what most people do.
Seriously, if you believe in the first chart of this well know battery site - http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm - you can see that a Li-ion battery suffers more permanent capacity loss, for any given length of time, by sitting at 100% charge, then it loses by sitting in 104F temps on a partial charge. (After 1 year, 20% loss from 100% charge @ 77F, vs 15% loss from 104F temps with a 40% "storage charge.")
So, given that it takes about an hour to fully charge an iPhone, if you plug it in before you go to sleep, it ends up just sitting there 5-7hrs at 100% charge and probably worse off than leaving it in a 104F car for the same amount of time.
Solution... try to minimize the amount time that the phone sits at 100% charge and maximize the time it sits at about half charge (40% being the ideal storage charge) by:
    a) Getting a light timer (about 4$) and set it to charge your phone the hour before you normally wake up. Let the phone sit at a lower charge level all night while you sleep. No difference to you, as you still plug it in before you go to sleep.
    b) Getting a AA back-up charger (iGo, Duracell, Adrenalinetechnologies "Turbo Charge" make them) so you don't always have to worry about "topping off" the battery. (I'm not fond of Li-ion backups for the above, and other, reasons).
    c) Use partial charges when appropriate. (Note that partial charges may require more recalibration, however.)
    d) Anyone got any other ideas?

I think you are talking trivialities here. That chart refers to long term storage, not short term situations like overnight. Second, while Isidor Buchmann knows his stuff no doubt, that web pave is 4-5 years old, and current Li-polymer batteries have made pretty big advances in just the last couple of years. And third, since for most iPhone users, the battery is going to have an effective life span of 1-2 years (400-500 full equivalent charge cycles) at most, the slight loss in capacity directly attributable to sitting charged over night is hardly worth fussing about.
I just see it as way to much ado about nothing. There are far too many legitimate things to worry about every day - this is just not one of them.
P.S. And I do leave mine plugged in overnight, in a dock, since it is my alarm clock and quite honestly, I don't want to have to remember to plug it in come morning when I'm running about trying to get out the door to get to work. I just want to be able to grap it at anytime and know it is fully charged and good to go. I plug it in when I get to my office - I plug it in whenever convenient, regardless of charge state.

  • Email on my iphone 3 stops working almost every day.

My email stops working on my iphone 3 almost every day, and I have to reset the passwords, power on and off.  Then it works again.  Any suggestions?

Then you didn't read it carefully enough. Here is the applicable part of that page:
If you're running software update 1.1.3, please note that tapping the 'Gmail' button will automatically configure Gmail IMAP. Here's how to set up POP:
Tap Mail from your iPhone's Home screen.
    Tap Other.
Select POP from the tab menu.
Enter your name, email address, and password in the appropriate fields. The Address field should be your full email address ([email protected]). Google Apps users, enter your full address in the format 'username@your_domain.com.'
Under Incoming Mail Server, fill in the Host Name field as 'pop.gmail.com.' Google Apps users, enter the server names provided, don't add your domain name in this step.
Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), fill in the Host Name field as 'smtp.gmail.com.'
    Tap Save. Now you're done!
If you notice that POP access isn't working properly, please ensure that all your settings are correct by following these instructions:
From the Home menu, tap Settings.
    Select your Gmail address.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Advanced.
Ensure that your settings are as follows:
    Incoming Uses SSL: ON
    Outgoing Uses SSL: ON
    Authentication: Password
If you're accessing your Gmail from multiple POP clients, we recommend setting Use Recent Mode to ON.

  • Airport suddenly needs to be rebooted every day

I have a client with an AirPort Extreme. He has been using it for several
years without a problem. Suddenly EVERY day (definitely when he wakes up in
the morning and sometimes at other points in the day - as far as I can tell
when the computer is idle) the status light blinks yellow.
When this happens he looses the wireless connection. If I plug an ethernet
cable into the AirPort it shows up under the AirPort Admin Utility, but is
unable to read the configuration to determine what the AP is unhappy about.
A simple power cycle fixes the problem.
I first thought it might be a problem with the AP so I replaced it with a
new one (having the latest firmware).
    Same problem.
I have since replaced all ethernet cables and the Time Warner Road Runner
    cable modem. Same problem.
I even tried a LinkSys router in front of the AP and put the AP in bridge
    mode, but no joy.
    A few other points:
If I sleep the MacBook I CAN NOT get the problem to happen (I am only
    waiting max 10 min)
We "coincidentally" replaced his 3 year old MacBook with a new one (with OS
10.61) a few days before this problem started. I cant see how this could be
the problem as it happens when the computer is sleeping and the fix is to
reboot the AP not the computer, but the timing is awfully suspicious.
I dont know what else to try. Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • TS2755 My iPhone 4 says that I need to restore it every day, even after I have already restored it.  When I try to restart the phone after receiving the restore message, it then changes and says "activation required".  How do I fix this?

My iPhone 4 keeps having the "Restore Needed" message pop up on my phone.  I have restored my phone several times this week, and it still keeps happening.  The "Restore Needed" message pops up, so I immediately do a hard shut-down.  Once the phone restarts, the phone then says "Activation Required".  I keep shutting down and restarting the phone, and sometimes it snaps out of it, seemingly on its own.  Sometimes I have to go home and restore and activate my phone.  How do I fix this?  I'm 2.5 hours away from the closest Apple store and 1 hour away from the closest AT&T store.
    Thanks!

Make the time and take it to the Apple Store. Make an appointment first. Or you can call AppleCare and go for a mail in replacement.

  • Express Needs to be restart every day

Our Express needs to be reset at least once a day. The green light is on and we can see the SSID but when we use our mac (or any other device) to connect to it, we get connection failed errors. Any idea what can be done to fix this?

  • Flash Player needs to be reinstalled every day

Without any specific cause, I have found that to view most videos I must reinstall Flash Player every time I start my computer whether I use Firefox or IE. Of course Chrome works always no problems, but it is not my desired browser- that's firefox. Once installed Flash works perfectly. If the computer is shut down, restarted or allowed to sleep, Flash must be reinstalled. I can't find any settings that effect this issue. Very frustratring.

What about if you tried those steps, and it's still not working?  Have the same issue; flash keeps uninstalling itself, and tried that solution.  Reinstalled flash, said it worked.  Downloaded the thing from Windows, downloaded the attachment and extracted to the same folder, ran it as admin.  Little DOS box seemed to work fine.  Restarted the computer, and yet again, flash is missing.  I get nothing at all when trying to view videos.  Becoming very frustrating!  Using the latest Firefox, Windows Vista (64-bit), and never had issues before.  All was fine till quite recently (past week).  So, what next?
Edit to add:  Tried, after restarting the computer, to reinstall Flash Player, and no wit won't install AT ALL.  keeps saying it's "already in use", and then trying to open multiple new downloads to install it.  Becoming extremely frustrating.
Have also tried to install an earlier version from the site, but every time I try, I get the messagethat it can't install because it's not the latest version.

Does the fact that I have a router and the airport express cause some redundancy?

  • WRT54GL needs to have settings saved every day

I've been running this WRT54GL for a while. I recently upgraded firmware to version 4.30.5. Coincidentally, I also created some internet access restrictions so my kids can't stay up all night playing games. The restrictions work great except that I need to resave them every day. If I don't, the router acts as though there are no access restrictions. So each day I access the router in the morning, check that three access restrictions are enabled, and then click on save settings. As soon as I hit save settings again without changing a thing the restrictions work fine. Is there some setting I'm not seeing that makes these settings last more than one day? I've surfed this site and the web quite a bit and can't find anything about this. Thanks.

As you said, you have to save the settings everyday...this could be probably because the check box " Everyday" is unchecked...Make sure that it is checked as the policy would be applied only if it is checked..

  • After upgrading my iphone 4S to iOS 7 every time the automatic backup on my iCloud account start it requests to verify my Apple ID password.

Since I updated my iPhone 4S to iOS 7 every day when I put my iPhone in charge and it starts my backup in my iCloud account, it request me to verify my Apple ID password.
Every day I have to put my password to make the backup start.
I have enough space on my account to make the backup.
I have an iPad 4, updated to iOS 7 too, but with it I don't have the same issue when backing up in the iCloud.
I'm only experiencing this issue with the iPhone.
I already tried to restore complitely my iPhone and turned off and on again iCloud.
    Thank you for your help.
    Regards

An update - it was just taking too long to copy all the data again to the phone so I stopped the copy. Then I was able to complete the setup of the phone and most of the data was there -- just not the music I had selected. Not a problem, at least I can make calls.
Next step will be to update the phone again (when I've sufficiently recovered from my annoyance) and add the music I want.
Otherwise, I'm okay with the interface. No big problems.

  • Can i bay two iPhones every day or every customer account ? because i need more that two

can i bay two iPhones every day or every customer account ? because i need more that two

You can't merge accounts or copy content to a different account, so anything that you bought or downloaded via the old account is tied to that account - so any updates that those apps get you will only be able to download via that account. You can change which account is logged in on the iPad via Settings > Store

  • I need to reset my time capsule/airport every day - time capsule has green light but I don't see any wifi signal on my mac and other computers.

as many of you do, I use time capsule as airport, too...
It worked fine for 6 months or so after I bought the new time capsule. (I bought it in September 2012.)
Since the beginning of this year, I had to reset, and power off and plug it in almost every week, then now I need to reset and power off and back on again every day...
When I first set up the time capsule, I followed the instruction with the manual.
But, now I am so lost and don't want to reset every day for wifi connection.
Anyone has problem like me or knows how to solve this issue?
    Please help..
I have MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.4 & my roommates have PCs. (just in case if it helps...)

For PC it is important the wireless has names that are compatible.. short.. like 10 characters.. but 2-20 is fine. no spaces.. and pure alphanumeric.
Use WPA2 personal only.. with pure alphanumeric password .. again 10-20 characters should be fine.
The latest firmware is a dud. Go back to 7.6.1
Open the airport utility.. click on the TC and holding the option key click the actual version number..
Go back to 7.6.1 is simple.. just select it and away it will go.. ignore future requests for upgrade.. you can also tell the utility not to check weekly for updates. You will need 5.6 utility for this I think..
    So do the firmware downgrade.
Then do a factory reset and follow the name information above.. for TC name as well btw.. wireless name/s and disk share name.. which by default is data and that is fine.
    So some instructions in...
    The Factory Reset.
    Power down the TC.
Hold in reset. and keep holding it in. Be Gentle! It is a tiny surface mount switch with a plastic lever.. Attempting to push it out the other side of the TC will not make the switch turn on better.
(I fix TC and have several reset levers bent over and jammed or broken off).
Power on the TC.. remember with the reset held in.. this needs three arms.. a friend or power switch you can get to with your feet..
Keep holding in reset for about 10sec until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Release reset and wait .. the boot will be slow as it deletes previous setting.. only from router side and pulls out the factory defaults. No files are deleted on the hard disk.. but the name of the TC may change.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.
You can also load airport utility into a pc and get access to all the settings.  Untick the box for firmware updates.. it will still bug you occasionally.. regardless of the setting.. just ignore it..
You might still need to do the occasional reboot of the TC as well.
