IPhone not hanging up on "End Call"

This occurs frequently, about 1 out of every 5 calls I make. When I hit the red "End Call," at the conclusion of a conversation, my phone hangs with it reading, "call ending..." It does not ever read the normal "call ended" and will stay that way until the screen dims. I then have to reboot the iPhone and everything works normally on the iPhone until it happens again within a few phone calls.
I am running 1.1.1 (3A109a) and have done nothing peculiar to the iphone. (No 3rd-party apps or jailbreak.)

First thing that you should do is update to 1.1.2. Apple fixed many bugs like that in that patch. Normally its something to do with the call line itself, like if you're phoning a Verizon person or a T-moble machine.
Do you end the call or does the other person end the call? Try having the other person end the call and see what happens. Also, ask who their provider is and if that doesn't help call AT&T and see what they say.

IPhone Not Charging While On A Call

My iPhone 3G (currently running 3.0) refuses to properly charge while I am on a call. I used to be able to talk and charge at the same time, but lately, it shows the 'charging' symbol for a while and then just switches to 'connected'. The first time it did this, I realized too late and was left with a long and boring commute to work.
I am quite sure it has nothing to do with the update to 3.0, because it started doing this a day or two before I made the upgrade.
I usually connect to my laptop when charging, but I also tried connecting via the wall charger, which resulted in the same problem. I don't think it's a problem with the cord I use; I tried it with my Dad's too and it does the same thing.
The moment I hang up, though, I am able to charge my phone with no interruptions. It continuously shows the charging symbol without randomly switching to just connected.
I have a habit of making long, long phone calls and I like to have a fully charged phone when I leave for work or whatever. Does anyone know what the problem is/might/could be and/or how I could fix it?

I've noticed that while I'm streaming content on the 3G network my phone will not charge either.. Even while connected to my laptop it will not charge while streaming. I believe this may have to do with the 3G bandwidth.. Try making your calls while 3G is turned off.. I think it will charge simultaneously and I'm curious to know if this will make a difference.

HT4528 My iPhone 4S won't let me end calls. I have read to restart your phone, but my power button doesn't work so I can't do that. Does anyone have any suggestions.

My Iphone 4s wont let me end calls. It freezes on the call screen. I can press END CALL many times and try to end it, but it wont end. i think its the assistive touch bc i got that when my home button broke and my lock button is also broken and now it wont let me slid the unlock button, and i shut it down then turned it back on so it automatically showed the keypad and it would only let me press 3 and thats it. i also read a few other topics about it not unlocking and they all used the assistive touch.

Telephone will not hang up?

I have the new iphone 5S and the newest IOS.
Some times my phone will not hang up after a call and shut down the telephone call? It's a bit annoying and I have to dubble click home button and shut down the telephone app. Same thing when I use the facetime app.
I have tried hard reset and so on.. but It will not help.
I have seen at swedish 99mac forum some other have the same issue, whats the problem?

i am also having this problem, i made a skype call, from my mobile to another mobile, but it was to a mobile phone number, not the skype, and it has not hung, up, it is still going for 8 hours, and this type of call i am paying for

Iphone not ENDING a call...

My iphone sometimes will not end the call after hanging up with someone.
I just got done talking with my bank and i hit the end call button and it sorta froze. then at the main screen that green bar "Touch to return to call" button was there. I clicked end call (when i could, it was a glitchy screen) and nothing happened.
It happens once in a while. i can't figure out why either. I had to reset the iphone from holding the lock button to fix it.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

In response to Advent7. Try resetting your iPhone. This will simply be caused by a software glitch most probably. Mine and thousands of others work perfectly. If the reset does not work you can restore your phone via iTunes. If this does not work have it replaced under warranty. Problem solved. The iPhone made it to the market as it is a fantastic user friendly device!!!!!

IPhone (original, not 3g) will not hang up after call

Frequently, after completing a call which I originate, I find that touching the "end call" button will not terminate the call. I have to turn the phone off to force the call to terminate. I find this every time I am interacting with some kind of Voice Response system ... especially after leaving a message for someone on their voice mail (ATT/Verizon/Sprint or in-house). The problem also occurs randomly with voice calls to other ATT/Cingular subscribers.
This problem has been happening, fairly consistently since I acquired this iPhone shortly after the original phone was released. I would note that this is actually my 3rd physical phone as the first one died 2 days after purchase, and the second one about 2 weeks later.
This phone was upgraded to 2.0.1 earlier this week, and the problem still persists.

I have a cover that masked the sensors. When I cut holes in the right places, my problem with unresponsiveness ended.

IOS 7 End Call Huge Box hits cheek and hangs up!

The big Red End Call Box in IOS7 is to big and in a bad spot. When I put the phone up to my cheek, the button get hit and hangs up the phone, It's happen numerious times to me.
Why can't it be smaller and in a different location?

I'm afraid I don't understand your reply, AdeetyaVerma. Did you, perchance, mean to type: "Just dial RIGHT"? Either way, your reply makes no sense, nor does it provide any perceivable benefit. Nonetheless, I'm glad that it worked for YOU ;-)
In the interim, however, I've discovered what may turn out to be a solution for this problem. For some reason, iOS7 has rendered the proximity sensor ineffective... or at least LESS effective. While searching for others with similar concerns, I came across a 33 minute video dissertation on the subject. It went into great detail on how to completely disassemble the iPhone 4 to fix the problem. It seems that too much light bleeds into the sensor, thereby negating its ability to properly detect that the phone is held up to the user's face. Apparently this has always been a problem with the iPhone 4, but one that was made more evident with the release of iOS7.
As an alternate, and much less invasive solution, I simply changed my screensaver to a much darker one. This effectively reduces the light being created by the screen and thereby bleeding into the sensor. So far, this seems to work. I'll reply back, if it does not help over the long term.

"Slide to call" will not let me end call

The slide to call feature, aside from being a AMJOR security flaw, seems to have another bug, unless someone can help me. If I choose to "slide to call" a missed call, I can have a perfectly fine call, but when I am finished I cannot end the call. All I get is the passcode lock screen, with a passcode already answered (not one I entered - it just looks populated). The only way to end the call seems to be to unlock the phone and end the call from there.
So anyone can call back a missed call (even if my phone is locked) but I have to lunlock it to end the call. Tell me this is wrong - seriously wrong. Or fix it.
I accidentally called someone back (foolishly thinking my phoen was locked), and then could not hang up - so they could still hear me, even though I assumed the call was ended (the "0" number looks slightly red so I assumed it was to be pressed to end the call - but there appears to be nothing on the website to tell you how this feature works - should I be able to hang up a call?, should I even be able to call someone back without unlocking the phone (which sounds so unbelievably luicrous for a locked phone)

It sounds like it would be best for you to have the settings for phone notifications showing in the lock screen turned off. You can control these settings on your phone by navigating to the Notifications center in the Settings app, then find the Phone notifications settings, then flip the toggle switch for "Show in Lock Screen" to off. When I am on a call in my car I can play and hear the music on my iPhone but when I hang up from the call the music reverts back to my iPhone speaker.

when I am on a phone call in my car I can play and hear my iPhone music thru the car speakers but when I hang up from the call, the sound reverts to my iPhone speaker and longer plays thru the car speaker.

Iphone screen is black when I remove the phone from my ear; can't end call

This is annoying! It doesn't happen all the time -- only some of the time but at least two times a day. The phone works but it just doesn't show the "end call" option -- or anything for that matter. I can turn it off when I have my headset on but if I don't have the headset on, I have to press the lock key on the top of the phone to get it to do anything. Then it locks, and then when I touch the on button at the bottom of the phone, it shows the display again. Anyone have any ideas or should I take it in?

Do you have a protective case on the iPhone? If its covering the Proximity sensor on the iPhone, the iPhone could think the phone is still being held up to your head. In that case the iPhone screen would remain locked so the call could not be ended accidentally.
If you don't have a case on the iPhone, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

my son had this problem. I went to the apple store and they wiped out and restored the phone.. They said that was all they could do but that I should call our phone carrier and ask them. I did. They asked if in the top left side, next to battery power there was a icon of a half moon. There was. They said to go in to settings and go to "Do not Disturb" and turn it off. I did.....problem solved!!! Somehow "do not disturb" was turned on and that is what happens if it is!!

Same issue on my wife's iPhone 4S. I suspect it is related to the recent 6.1.2 iOS update (Note: I have a 3S and the update did not cause any issues).
I've tested both bottom and top mics on the 4S using video recorder and both mics work fine. Speakerphone and headset during calls also work fine. The issue is only related to the bottom mic while making calls. I can hear the caller but the caller cannot hear me. If I hold the mic very close to my mouth, the caller can hear a very low level signal.
The problem appears to be software related, not hardware.
