IPod 160GB - New Hardware Found Keeps Popping Up

I've got a rather unusual problem with my 160GB iPod. I don't understand why, but it seems that at times if my iPod is being disconnected too many times, the "new hardware found" pops up, and then the add new hardware wizard. When that happens, because I don't know the exact location of the drivers that corresponds, I end up letting it search automatically, and in turn for some reason it tends to pick up and try to install my Nintendo Wifi Adaptor drivers, which I've had installed long before I even bought my iPod. I was wondering if someone could assist me, or if there were a possability to obtain drivers separately from iTunes. If anyone has any possible info please leave a reply back. Thanks!

Hi.
Have you seen this, or is it any good?

  • MSI P4M900M2-L new hardware found after every switch off

I've just installed the MSI P4M900M2-L motherboard with a E4400 processor.
Everything installs fine (not ! in device manager) and everthing seems to work ok.
If I reboot the machine everything also works ok.
My problem starts if I switch the machine off. When I do this, every time windows boots (vista) the "new hardware found" icon pops up at the bottom and it installs the following:
       - USB to PCI adaptor
       - PCI to PCI adaptor
       - High definition audio
       - and also my tv tuner card
Once it's done a bit of searching all the devices become available, but how can I stop this happening. It's really annoying for Vista Media Center as I've to reconfigure the tuner every time after a reboot (about a 15 minute process).
Any help would be great, as it's driving me mad!

I think you haven't installed VIA's drivers? Have you?

  • New message window keeps popping up

The new message window keeps popping up without prompting, usually twice in a row. I notice
this particularly when I first open the Mail program. The funny thing is that you can't actually type in any text in the new message window. Any ideas???

It seemed to work itself out after several days.

  • Bootcamp Issues: XP Frozen with New Hardware Found screen

I've installed bootcamp on an Imac with MacOS 10.6.4. This went fine. Then I installed XP. This went fine as well. Then I inserted a Mac OX X Snow Leopard 10.6.4 disk to install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows. But XP is just frozen with the "Found New Hardware Wizard" screen. Nothing happens.
The Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.4 disk is not the one that came with the Imac. We don't have that disk. Could this be the problem?
If so, what can be done at this point?

That could indeed be the problem. What OSX disc are you using ? A retail bought one ? Or one that came with another Mac ?

Best would be to call Apple while having the serialnumber of your iMac at hand and ask for replacement OSX discs.
Usually Apple sends them to you for a relativlely small fee.
Since you also need the OSX disc for basic troubleshooting tasks it is vital to have one.

  • I restored my ipod but the same message keeps popping up all the time

I have a 2GB iPod Nano, and while I was trying to charge it today a message popped up from iTunes saying that the ipod is in a recovery mode and I must restore it so that it works with itunes. But when I restored it the same message popped up again. I restarted the computer and the laptop, I reinstalled itunes but I still get the same message. The ipod works and charges fine but it's empty now and I can't upload my songs to it because itunes keeps giving me the "restore" message. Please help me, I don't know what to do!

a relentless recovery mode message like that can sometimes be caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. for troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see the following document:
"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode - Use iTunes to restore"

  • My brand new Iphone 5s keeps popping up with the Apple ID log in box, and then it dissapears before i get the chance to type my password.

Bassically i just got my new iphone 5, everything was going fine up untill the Apple ID login box started appearing and then dissapearing before i get the chance to type the password. It pops up every 10 to 20 seconds, and dissapears just as quick as it popped up. I have turned the device on and off, and I have rebooted it. I checked for 'waiting downloads' or 'paused downloads' and there are none. i can still use everything on the phone, but this log in box popping up so often is going to get extremely annoying, im already contemplating sending it back!!!

    PROBLEM SOLVED! HAHA
I did a full restore via iTunes.

  • New iphone 6 keep popping out this message.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. we are currently rectifying the problem. Please try again later. Thank you. and only one option at the bottom. Dismiss.
What can i do about this??

I have never seen this message on any of the iPhones I have used. If the Dismiss button is on the screen and does not respond press the round Home button. If that returns you to the Home screen, the message was related to whatever app was running last. I suggest you quit all apps like I describe then reset the iPhone. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Do that for every app that appears in that area. Then to reset the iPhone press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

  • XFI Installation Issue "Found New Hardware&qu

Hello technical support, I recently bought a XFI Fatality sound card on 0/07 and recieved it 0/0. I didnt use the drivers on the CD, instead i went on the website and download the drivers their for my sound card, since I figured that the ones on the CD are old. My sound seems to be working fine and great, but every time, I log on, a message pops up saying new hardware found. But I has sound and everything is installed for the sound card. I removed my old Realtek and cleaned the drivers out for a complete fresh install of the XFI sound card drivers. So my problem is that it that a "NEW HARDWARE FOUND" comes up, and in my device manager their is a question mark with an exclamation point which says multimedia audio controller. How do I fix this?

Did you disable your onboard Realtek in the BIOS? If you just removed it from the Device Manager, it'll keep coming back.
Also, is your X-fi working? Have proper sound?

  • Found New Hardware Error with iTunes and Motorola L7 SLVR

    Hi,
I reinstalled iTunes because when I connected my phone via USB I would get an error in Found New Hardware Wizard: There was a problem installing this hardware. Motorola Motorola Phone USB Device. After reinstall, I opened iTunes and no error until it asked me to 'convert my phone for use with iTunes'. Once I said yes, it did something to the phone and then the error re-occurred. I am using the latest version of iTunes.

None of the steps outlined in the referenced document resolved the problem. In addition, simply connecting the iPod to the system now has the added effect of freezing my wireless connectivity. I can still get iPod connectivity to the system, but I'm offline until I reboot again (w/o the iPod connected).
When I try the second set of steps recommended in the attached note ("Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items"), and had only the iPod selected, the system would not allow a complete boot up at all (kept sending me back to edit the System Services screen). It would then not allow me to restore the system to the selections that were previously on the computer. A mess!!
I ended up doing a complete system restore (back to a prior system configuration) and that corrected the problem. But, of course, I continue to get the error when booting up that "new hardware found".
    Any other ideas?

  • "Found New Hardware" Error

I installed the iPod on my PC and everything seems to work fine, but now everytime I turn on the system, I get a "found new hardware" error (even when the iPod is not connected). I uninstalled iTunes and then reinstalled everything again, but the problem has not gone away. Any suggestions?

  • My ipod touch 2nd generation is stuck at recovery mode when I tried to update from a 3 software to a 4 software. I tried puting it in DFU mode to fix it but a window pops up about  the computer found new hardware and needs a cdrom. What do I do?

My Ipod is stuck at restore mode, when I downloaded fixrecovery and zlib1, they gave me a file which I can't open iBSS.n72ap. Fixrecovery wanted me to put it in DFU mode and I did but a window from my computer pops up telling me that it found new hardware and wants a CDrom to install. The ipod did not come with a CDrom software. It wont go back, and iTunes does not recongnize it. What should I do?

    Try here.
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I would first try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software using:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    or
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

  • This is the first time this has ever happened but I plug in any device iPod, iPhone and the computer opens up a found new hardware wizard. I can't sync any of my devices and I'm not happy. Any helpers?

I can't connect any of my devices to my iTunes. Anytime I plug one of them into my computer I get a new hardware wizard window that pops up and I can seem to load anything from an iPod or iPhone if I run the wizard. Any helpers? I've been using iTunes on this computer for a very long time and this is the first time that this wizard has shown up ever. Please help.

I have replied some one with the same problem.
If your contacts saved in the SIM, you can import them from SIM. Please see this help.

If not, you may use a third tool to recover your lost contacts.
