IPod has different dates than iCal

I have a problem with how my 4th Gen iPod and Nano sync with iCal. Some - not all - of the appointments get moved around. I have a series of recurring appointments on Thursday in iCal that show up on Wednesday on both iPods. I have synce'ed the iPods several times but the problem still persists. Also, I noticed that "All Day" appointments in iCal show up as 3PM appointments on my iPod. What do I need to do to fix this? I can't trust my iPod as a calendar app if it gets the appointments wrong!

I have a similar problem with my iPod/Calendar. There is a manual work around that worked for me. Seems to be a problem with iSync. Here is more details http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1747727&#1747727

  • Computer has different name than Itunes for Ipod Touch

    I have an Ipod Touch 4th Generation 32gb. I have had no problems with it or with Itunes. My Mom came last Saturday to visit and she needed to charge her Ipod Touch so I hooked it to my computer where I always have a cord and charged it for about 45 minutes or so. I have no problem with my Ipod or with Itunes BUT when I go look at the device now on my computer,when it is connected to USB cord, it show "Marys Ipod" now instead of "Steves Ipod". In Itunes, it is still "Steves Ipod" and I can sync and all but I really want to get rid of "Marys Ipod" off my computer even though when I open it up, it is my ipod, just mislabed. I know because it has my pictures and her's is only 8gb. My Ipad2, is fine when I hook it up to the USB cord, It says "Steves Ipad" but when I hook my USB cord to my ipod touch, it still reads "Marys Ipod". Is this something I should be concerned about or is it not worth the hassle of trying to restore, etc? I have tried to change the name, but Windows won't allow. I do have Windows 7. I have also got the new update on Itunes and the new software(5.0) version.
    I am stumped. I have googled this and have searched for over 3 hours today on how to fix this. Ready to bang my head against the wall. I have did a reboot on Ipod, I have restarted the computer. I have not reinstalled anything including Itunes.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I would sure appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

    I just found the answer to this after hours of searching online. Make sure your iPod is hooked up to your computer & turned on.
    Click on "Start" and in the search box type "regedit". This will display a program called "Registry Editor". Open it.
    Click on the "Edit" tab and select "Find...". Type "Mary" in the search box and click "Find Next". It will bring up a list of everything that has "Mary" in it. (You may have to click on "Find next" under the "Edit" tab in order to find the associated items that have something to do with both "iPod" and "Mary".) What you need to pay attention to is not the NAME, but the DATA column. For me, the wrong iPod name was listed in 2 places in the data column. The actual names of those 2 items were "FriendlyName" and "Label".
    Once you find the associated items that have to do with both the iPod and "Mary", right click on one of them. Select "Modify...". A box will open giving a "Value Name" box and a "Value Data" box. The "Value Data" box should say "Mary's iPod". All you have to do is change it to "Steve's iPod" and click "OK". Repeat the "Modify..." and renaming of the "Value Data" steps for every item that says something about "Mary's iPod".
    Close the Registry Editor. Open "my computer" and see that it changed the name of your iPod back to "Steve's iPod".
    Best Answer So far.....it really works...Thanks a million

  • Address Book contact preview shows a different date than what is input in the birthday field.

    When opening the address book and clicking on an entry, the preview pane at the bottom shows a different date than the date that is entered in the birthday field. It shows the day before the actual date that is entered. See images below:
    Thanks!

    Thunderbird numbering is based on the Extended Support Releases, which are provided every seven "regular" cycles (thus after 7 6-week cycles = every 42 weeks) to minimize fallout from new features hitting the releases to frequently. Initially, those release were issued to organizations only which require some kind of internal review or certification of software prior to deployment.
    Currently we are in the "37.0" cycle and 38 beta 1 has just been released (but doesn't have the fix yet). Meaning, the next release after 31.6.0 won't be 31.7.0 but 38.0 already, followed by 38.1.0 up to 38.6.0, the continuing with 45.0, etc.
    Confusing, yes, but that's what they came up with.

  • Application Module retrieves different data than direct DB query

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 1.1.1.6
    I have a big headache trying to figure out why my application Module is retrieving different data than if I execute the query of my ViewObject directly to the data base. To prove me that I am not crazy I have created a non updateable view object based in this sql query
    select * from hr_lookups;
    The application module is connecting to the database using JDBC URL Connection localhost:1529/DB and user name apps. When I run the application module I can see rows and everything as expected.
    If I connect to the same database using the same username, when I execute select * from hr_lookups; I get no rows!!!!
    I don't know what else to do and I really will appreciate your help in this one.
    Kind Regards

    Hi Timo,
    Thank you for your reply. Yes, I can see the exact same query. In fact all the rows are the same except one column. One attribute which is coming from a stored procedure. By this I mean the view object has the following structure;
    select att1, att2, ... , mypackage.myprocedure(param1,param2) from tables where clauses;
    So att1, att2, etc are the same whether I run the appModule or I copy and paste the query in a SQL WorkSheet and run it. The only different is the results of mypackage.myprocedure(param1,param2). So I have created a new view object from SQL query;
    select mypackage.myprocedure(param1,param2) from dual. From application module it returns one value and directly from SQL WorkSheet returns different value...
    Im sorry if I am not understandable but I am really desperate. Might it be permission or something like that???

  • CPU crashed. New CPU running itunes installed, Ipod has all data- won't

    I have a 30g ipod. 5 gb used right now.... Problem I can't get my Ipod to update my fresh install of iTunes. iTunes library empty- all data on ipod. Can it be done???

    You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
    If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
    iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    If you haven't already done so, change the update setting for your iPod to manual. If you are using the iPod in manual update mode, your iPod is safe from being accidentally erased when you connect to an empty iTunes after reinstalling your operating system. However if your iPod is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual.
    You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
    Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are quite cheap these days and you can get loads of storage for quite a small outlay.

  • Finder has a different date than the one in iphoto for date created

    ok...I found a bunch of pics that have the wrong date created. I changed it in iphoto. I also tried changing it in photoshop bridge. However, the finder is still using some weird date for the date created. Why is this? It's effecting my picture frame.

    I have a similar problem. I've downloaded a ton of pictures covering 5 months of touring into file folders on the computer. When I view those in the finder and ask to show the creation dates it lists them correctly. I then imported the pictures into iPhoto, and again, the creation dates are correct. Now when I drag selected pictures out of iPhoto into a desktop folder to be placed onto a digital picture frame, the creation dates all show the date and time they were imported into iPhoto.
    Is there a way to keep the original creation dates with those pictures when pulling them from iPhoto? If not I will have to go back to the original files and sort thru them using preview or some other method. I have tried this and the dates are preserved in the newly composed folder for importing to the picture frame, but it is really time consuming.

  • Ipod has more space than computer!!!!

    Hello, I've run into a bit of a problem. I've recently bought a 30 G ipod w/ video, but my computer only has 20 G. Obviously less now, as I've had it for a few years... so lets say 3 G. Is there any way I can keep all my music on my ipod w/o [sync-ing it and keeping all the music on my hard drive]?
    Thank you much =]
    ~ musezilla

    You simply have to change the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos". You can get details here: Managing content manually on iPod
    One major word of caution. If you delete songs from your PC and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. Forum member Buegie has compiled a very extensive procedure for backing up your music which you'll find at this link: Backing up iTunes
    Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

  • AR Invoice has different currency than that of Sales Order.

    SR 3-3082378321, Release 11.0.2.
    Customer is reporting 3 Invoices (autoinvoiced at 3 different times) are having USD currecny_code where their (internal) sales order are in JPY. All other internal orders and invoices are fine. This problem is not reproducible at will, but it has happened 3 times in the past 2 months.
    Need help on debugging the root cause of it. Support has done following:
    1) reviewed Autoinvoice concurrent logfile and for the troubled invoice it shows:
    =====
    Customer_trx_id = 172207
    Trx_currency_code = USD
    trx_number = 6000042547
    trx currency = :USD:
    sys currency = :USD:
    ======
    Where for a good one, it has:
    =====
    Customer_trx_id = 17220x
    Trx_currency_code = JPY
    trx_number = 600004254x
    trx currency = :JPY:
    sys currency = :USD:
    ======
    This happened where system is selecting * from TAX_LINES_INVOICE_IMPORT_V. We understand data in TAX_LINES_INVOICE_IMPORT_V are fetched from ra_interface_lines_all table. This means data in ra_interface_lines_all table already has wrong currency_code.
    2) We collected concurrent program logfile of the Receivables Interface Program , and it doesn't reveal anything relates to currency.
    3) Customer stated there is no custom code for Receivables Interface program.
    4) Customer is on 11.0.2 and we ran shp11ord.sql (per note 117627.1), that doesn't reveal any currency information neither.
    5) We collected output from inv_info_110.sql for a good and bad invoices, and we see difference as follows:
    =====
    TRX_NUMBER TRX_ID TYPE STATUS TRX_DATE SOB CUST_ID RATE_TYPE RATE_DATE RATE
    6000041899 170695 NSO OP 2/18/2011 1 1026
    Good record has following:
    =====
    TRX_NUMBER TRX_ID TYPE STATUS TRX_DATE SOB CUST_ID RATE_TYPE RATE_DATE RATE
    6000038751 163874 NSO OP 9/25/2010 1 1026 User 9/25/2010 120
    The difference are the Rate_Type, Rate_Date, and Rate. The bad invoice has null value for these fields whereas the good one have all of them populated. Again, both orders (on Order Entry side) have currency of JPY.
    6) Customer also confirmed that no one has ever manually changed anything in ra_interface_lines_all table.
    Any idea what else we can do to sort out a root cause of this issue? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Mark

    Thanks for your input. But my problem is that on a same day, they have most invoices are generated fine while only one invoice goes like this. Therefore I can't see this is relating to any user type, nor gl rates issue.
    I am actually looking for some inside on how to debug it. I can't trace the Autoinvoice on Production instance as the problem doesn't happen at will, and it has been only happened few times in the past couple months.
    thanks, mark.

  • What to do if iPod has more capacity than computer's HDD?

    I just got myself the 160GB iPod Classic, only to realize some weeks later that how can I fill it up if my MacBook has only 120GB of HDD?
    Is there a way to fill it up without having to sync back to iTunes? I would mostly use it for videos, either from ITS or from my DVD collection.
    Thanks in advanced.

    You could always buy a large external drive (say 500GB) and keep your iTunes library there and then your drive will definitely be large enough to hold everything your iPod does.

    I want ot use new / different computer to play ipod contents. I can see the contents but it is all greyed out.

    you will need to have your ipod set to "manually manage songs and playlists" in order to play songs off the ipod through the other computer's itunes.

  • DAQ Assistant Connection Diagram has different pinnouts than on the SCC-68

    When looking at the Connection Diagram on LabVIEW 8.2.1 (from DAQ Assistant) The diagram shows pins 34, 66, 31, and 63 ABOVE pins 68, 33, 65 & 30.  However, when looking at the physical layout on the SCC-68, these pins are transposed.  That is to say that pins 68, 33, 65 & 30 are ABOVE 34, 66, 31, and 63 respectively.
    Is this an error?  If not, what is the logic behind this?

    Hi RVallieu,
    I think the disprepancies in the connection diagram that you are seeing are related to the type of connection you want to do.  For instance, if you are doing differential measurements (good for rejecting Common Mode Noise Voltage), you would connect the positive lead to ai4 (pin 28) and the negative to ai12 (pin 61).  On the other hand, if you are doing Single-Ended Ground Referenced (RSE) using channel 4, you would connect the positive lead to ai4 (pin 28) and the negative to ai gnd (pin 64).  Whichever of these measurements that you choose, make sure that you configure the measurement type in MAX when you set up your task or in the VIs in LabVIEW under terminal configuration.  Here is a link to a document that describes the differences in these measurement types. Table 1 breaks the information down into Signal Type and Input Configuration.
    I opened up both the Device Pinouts in MAX for the 6221 and the manual for the SCC-68 (page 39) and compared the pins and they seem to correlate.  Since the SCC-68 works with multiple M and E series DAQ devices, they should be the same.
    As far as your measurement value is concerned, Ben has a good point that you may not have configured the accessory correctly in MAX.  To do this, right click on your 6221 device and go to properties.  Then in the accessory tab, you can select the SCC-68.  This knowlegdebase describes the differences between SCB-68 and SCC-68 in case you were wondering. Hopefully this information will help!

    There are millions of ways things can be different, so you need to be a little more specific. Is it just a scaling issue? How different are they? What are the offset and multiplier settings for the y-axis of the graph?
    You use the terms "chart" and "graph" interchangeably but in LabVIEW they mean very different things. So what is it?

  • My iPod has more audio data (27.5 gb) than my itunes library (25.6 gb) how to fix

    Hello, last night after i was curious and trying to experiment with Spotify, i accidentally started a new sync in which my audio portion on my ipod i believe was modified because now it has 2 gigs more on my ipod that in my itunes library, i havent found a way to reverse it yet even after 2 restore and an update to iOS 4.3.4. Has anyone else had this problem or am i riding solo on this one?
    Also: My ipod has 5 more songs on it (says when syncing) then i have in my library? what happened? I think it might have something to do with Spotify and Gracenote thing but this is stupid that it would affect another program.

    Everything appears to be working so far with this suggestion. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that more downgrades to iTunes 6.0.5 won't be needed.
    Great bit of troubleshooting there! It'd be nice to see this post stickied at the top of these forums.
    Even better, it'd be nice to have the root cause of this problem fixed in a future update.
