IPod not playing music correctly

Hello,
I have recently purchased a new 4th generation iPod Touch. I have synced it with my computer for the first time. The problem is, some songs are starting midway through (the time says 1 second in, but its 25s into the audio), and others wont play at all. How do I fix this issue? I had it on my last iPod as well, but was told it was a software issue. I am running the newest version of iTunes, and have 6.0.1 on my iPod.
Thanks!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPad 1 upgraded to iOS5 suddenly not playing music correctly

Hey all - I'm noticing (all of a sudden) that my iPad's Music app is not playing my music correctly. An example: in shuffle mode, if I manually advance to the next track, the app tells me it's playing, but the counter is not advancing, and there is no sound coming out of the headphones. All subsequent advances get the same result - I doubt my entire music library is corrupted, especially since if I exit out, and then manually select the track that wasn't playing in shuffle mode, it plays!
If I quit the app and restart, then let the app shuffle without manually advancing, it starts fine, but approximately 2-3 songs in, it lists one track as playing, while it is playing something else entirely.
If I pick individual songs from the song list (not in shuffle mode at all), some play, some don't. I get the same thing - the app says it's playing, but it's not.
    Any advice? Hard reset maybe?

Who do you think you're addressing here? Apple won't read this.
I have an Android Phone that has given me no amount of grief at all in the 2 years I have owned it.
I guess miracles DO happen !!
If you are not going to make your next tablet an iPad, I would strongly advise that you not get an Android device, but pursue another option such as Windows mobile.

  • IPod not playing music or video

I updated to 4.1 and all of a sudden my iPod won't play music or videos. Also I can't hear any of the keyboard clicks when I type on it. Won't play through the AUX or the USB ports either.
    Things I tried:
    1. Reseting
    2. Hard reset
    3. Factory Restore
    4. Downgrade to 4.0

Welcome to the club.  My 2nd gen did the same thing when I "upgraded" to 4.2.1.....

  • My ipod is not playing the correct order of my songs in playlists

You may have tapped the Shuffle button (looks like two arrows crossing path) in Blue.  Tap it once again to turn it off.

My 30-pin dock is connected to my lightning to 30-pin connector which is connected to my iPod touch 5g. But my iPod will only charge, and will not play music through my dock, only through the iPod's internal speaker. Help please!

Have you tried resetting both the iPod and dock? To reset the iPod, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
To reset the dock, unplug it and plug it back in.

  • My volume automatically turns itself all the way down whenever I start my ipod (even when I'm not playing music)

My volume automatically turns itself all the way down whenever I start my ipod (even when I'm not playing music). As soon as I slide my ipod into opening the volume goes all the way down. Even if it's already completely off, the audio icon comes on the screen, which tells me the ipod is still trying to lower the volume. As I said, I don't even have to be listening to music. I can be on the opening screen. When I turn the volume back up, it immediatley turns it back down. It only doesn't go down if I physically hold my finger to volume bar on the touch screen.
And yes, I've updated all my software (on my ipod and laptop). I've also entirely reset my ipod twice.
Tell me, is it time to ditch the ipod and find some other sort of mp3 player (this is one problem at the end of a long list of less debilitating but equally annoying issues I've had with my 2 ipod touches)

Yeah, I probably mean restore. Multiple times though!
Also, I forgot to mention that this issue persists regardless of whether or not my headphones are plugged in.

  • My iPod touch 4th gen is shutting down and not playing music?

    so here is the story:
lately my iPod touch 4th gen will become frozen, or slow whenever i am using it. However within the last 2 weeks it has shut itself down completely (even though there was always more than half charge) 3 times and won't allow me to turn it on for about 2-3 days. It also will not play music anymore, and instead is either silent or sounds of static. I am just wondering if there is anyway I can fix it or if I need to buy a new iPod.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

  • Ipod touch 8gb will not play music.  It will play through headphones and while hooked to dock though. Any suggessions? I've been through all the reset, restore and nothing has fixed it....

Ipod touch will not play music.  It will play though with headphones in and when attached to dock.  Any suggestions?

If you have not yet restored the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod try that.  If stil have the problem you very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod Touch is not playing music through doc.

Ipod Touch (3rd gen) is not playing music through doc.  No problem until yesterday.  It still works fine off doc but as of yesterday it will only either charge (most of the time) or play music (rare), Not both.  Also the message "accessory is not supported by ipod touch" periodically shows up on the ipod touch screen.
My other daughters ipod touch (2nd gen) works on this doc as normal.  Also, both of these ipod touches still work on my 2nd daughters stereo doc normally.
    Both are on software 4.2.1

Look into the dock connector on the problem iPod.  Look for dirt, debris, bent or broken connector and other abnormalities.  Compare with the working iPod.

  • TS1382 ipod will play music but the screen is blank

The ipod will play music but I can not see the screen. It remains blank.

By blank I assume you mean completely white is that correct?
If none of the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting do any good, you'll need to have the iPod either serviced or replaced as the LCD screen or ribbon cable is damaged or faulty.
