IPrint migration - Broker and Manager compatibility?

I didn't see this in the docs, but let's say I have one iPrint broker and 2 iPrint managers on 3 diff. servers in NetWare.
I wish to migrate to OES2 SP2 Linux, but do not wish to migrate ALL the iPrint broker/managers on one night
Can I just migrate the MANAGER first? Or must I migrate the BROKER first?
In other words:
Can an OES2 SP2 Manager "talk/work" with a NetWare iPrint Broker?

I don't think it can, it will need a driver store. That being said I have never tried. I'm guessing it will fail to load as the OES2 iprint manager should be configured to only connect driver store objects.

  • IPrint Migration - Printers and Clients Not on Welcome Page

We just finished a test migration of one of our iPrint servers from Netware 6.5SP8 to OES 11SP1. Everything went well, the driver store and manager are up and working, all the printers migrated, and all the drivers seem to be there. The one annoying issue is that the client download links and the install printers links did not get added to the Client Software tab on the default OES home page. I restarted all the services, but they still do not show up. If I type in the client download link manually, I can download it. I can also access the printers page directly at server/ipp. What do I need to do to get those links to appear?
    Thanks,
    Jason

Being in the welcome page, client software tab, if you check the source
of the html page or the javascript on the page, you should see a
    http://servername/welcome/links/iprint.js.
If not, the migration did not copied the file. If it is, check it is the
one from oes11 and not from netware. Installing latest oes11sp1 iprint
modules should restore the good iprint.js.

  • Session broker and custom conversion manager

I'm having some problem using session broker and a custom conversion manager. I just moved from using single session to using a session broker in the sessions.xml. I'm using a custom conversion manager as shown in this tech. tips URL
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/toplink/technical/tips/customconversion/index.html
Here's my conversion manager set up code -
    public class JpmiConversionManagerSetup extends SessionEventAdapter
    * During the pre-login event the new MyConversionManager must be installed
    * @see oracle.toplink.sessions.SessionEventAdapter#preLogin
    * @param event
    public void preLogin(SessionEvent event) {
    ConversionManager cm= new JpmiConversionManager();
    ConversionManager.setDefaultManager(cm);
    event.getSession().getLogin().getPlatform().setConversionManager(cm);
My session broker manages 2 sessions. In sessions.xml for one session I have the <event-listener-class> entry where I need some conversion, another session I don't have any such entry as I don't need any conversion.
Now when I try to run a named query using session broker the conversion part blows up, throws a ConversionException. Any idea? Do I need to configure the session broker instead of session in the preLogin or anything like that?

I think sessions editor is not available in 10.1.3dp4 yet. So I have to write the sessions.xml by hand. But the parser throwing me an error saying that <session-broker> is not allowed in sessions.xml.

I know this isn't what you really want to hear but I'd recommend taking it in to an authorized repair location or your local Apple Store to get the Superdrive repaired or replaced so you can do an install? I don't believe you will be able load from your Dad's Window's machine. However you might be able to from an external DVD drive.
Also I might recommend getting a UPS so if you have similar issues you will have enough power to do a proper shutdown.

  • How can I get the Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver installed on Win7 LC master?

We recently migrated from a Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2012 print server. When recomposing a linked clone pool with the old 2003 server, drivers were taken care of for the printer when the user printed for the first time after desktop recompose. With 2012, any printer using the Point and Print driver doesn't seem to obtain the driver again from the 2012 server. All of our clients are running Windows 7 which means the Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver is not installed in the OS natively.
I apparently need to figure out a way to get this installed on the host image so it trickles down to snapshots when recomposing the linked clone pool but I haven't been able to dig much information on doing this. Does anyone out there have any insight on how to accomplish this? If I recompose a pool now for a user who is using a new Point and Print driver, they get the following message that is resolved by removing the printer from their account and re-adding it:
"The 'Microsoft enhanced Point and Print compatibility driver' printer driver is not installed on this computer. Some printer properties will not be accessible unless you install the printer driver. Do you want to install the driver now?"
I figured the easy solution would be to just install a printer using the Point and Print driver and then remove it...leaving the driver behind (unless it cleaned up after itself). The problem with this is in my testing, even after removing and re-adding a printer that set off installation of this Point and Print driver on the client, any other printer that was using it still required the remove/re-add process in order to work, else I got the same message. That tells me that the driver may be custom for each printer installed?
Color me a little confused. I do NOT like the way that Server 2012 handles printers. I've come across a few other issues as well (such as duplex capabilities not being remember on the print server for a printer) that I never had with the 2003 server.
    Thanks!!

I was able to get it to work using your instructions off of here and your other thread
    Thank you!

  • IPhoto 08 and Photoshop - suggestions on workflow and managing PSD files

    Hi Everyone,
I'm a long-time Photoshop user, and a recent convert to Mac (BTW - I love my new Mac), therefore I am also new to iPhoto 08. I must say that I actually enjoy how iPhoto manages my pictures, as it is not all that different from how I've been managing my pics manually for years (by year, by event, etc.). I've read the various discussion topics on how to set up and use Photoshop as an external editor from iPhoto, and have not had any problems up to now.
I'm now looking for suggestions on workflow and managing my PSD files. I apologize if this is a little long, but I want to make sure I explain the problem clearly. Here's the scenario:
    - From iPhoto, I choose to edit an existing JPEG file in the external editor, Photoshop.
    - I perform my edits (including advanced edits with layers etc.)
    - I do both a "Save As..." and a "Save". That way, I "Save" the flattened JPEG back to my iPhoto library properly, and "Save As..." a PSD file in case I want to do further edits on the image later (days, weeks, months later).
I'm looking for suggestions on where to put my PSDs. For now, I am saving the PSD to my desktop (using max compatibility), and then importing the PSD into my iPhoto library (into the same Event as the original JPEG). However, this leaves me with 2 copies of the same picture: 1 JPEG, and 1 PSD.
The problem is, I now want to go back and do more tweaks on the PSD, the end result of which will make the JPEG version out-of-date. I can either
    1) Open both the PSD and JPEG versions at the same time, tweak the PSD, then copy and paste the flattened layers on top of the JPEG version and "Save"
    2) Open only the PSD, tweak, and save a copy as a JPEG onto my desktop and re-import into iPhoto.
Although a little tedious, both options seem to work. Are there any other options? What do you suggest? I'm curious to see how others manage this.

I don't have a solution for you (sorry) but I'd like to comment because I'm in a similar boat. However instead of saving PSD files to the desktop, I've been advised to save these to TIFF format in Photoshop by a professioal photographer friend of mine (I think he feels its a more universal file format than PSD for archival purposes). The downside is the files are huge.
I imported high resolution jpegs into iPhoto. I then use Photoshop to edit and save the flattened jpeg version back to iPhoto (thankfully, keywords are preserved this way). I recently realized that I need to save a copy of the edited file in a lossless format like TIFF or PSD. Unfortunately when I save the file to TIFF and import it back into iPhoto, keywords are lost. This is a drag.
What I am trying to figure out is how I can retain my keyword info in the edited archival version. Any tips?
I'm beginning to question whether I should import my photos in to Photoshop (or PS Bridge) first, save the original for archival purposes, do the majority of editing and save a TIFF/PSD file and then import this file into iPhoto for keywording, further editing, downsizing, etc.

  • My phone broke and i need a new one. Which phone should i pick?

I've had a samsung smooth (basic phone) for around 3 years now. It recently broke and I can no longer use it. I noticed verizon has a bunch of ****** basic phones and no feature phones to sell their smartphones. What phone should i buy? I'm thinking about either the samsung brightside or buy a used ENV3 from somewhere. Speaking of which, if i do manage to get an ENV3 and activate it, will i have to pay for the data plan? Also would it be part of my family plan or seperate? I can't wait for new phones to come out ( I doubt it anyways) so what should i do? I really want the ENV3 more than the samsung brightside but don't know if it'll be part of my plan or what'll happen if it breaks.
    I even found a new ENV3

but I'm not sure if my dad will let me purchase it because it's from e-bay

Ok do i need to go to a verizon store because my phone can't turn on. It split into 2 pieces. Also it says it's $80 for the bid and $90 for the purchase but when you scroll down and click on Included items, it says $400 for MSRP. I never bought anything from E-bay or ever auctioned so I'm confused what the real price is and how much the tax will be. Here's the link:

  • Migrate WWI and Expert Rules to new server

    Hello,
Does anyone have any "best practice" document or information related to migrating WWI and Expert rules from an existing server to a new server?  The "cookbook" provided in SAP Note for WWI installation does not mention anything regarding "re-install" or "migration.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Thomas,
I do not have a document available for you, but I would do it like this:
Make sure you have the same Word Version installed on both PCs
Make sure the word settings are the same (Trusted Locations / Macro Security etc.)
Make sure you have the same printers/printer drivers and default printer definied on both PCs
Copy WWI and Expert Folder from one PC to the other to the same location
Make sure you have the same PATH Variables defined on both PCs
Makre sure DCOM settings are the same of MS Word and Adobe
If you send PDFs make sure Adobe Reader and the tool you use to create PDFs is installed on both PCs the exact same way
SetUp the Windows Services for EH&S Management Server, WWI and Expert on the new server exactly the way they have been on the old server.
If your new PC has a different OS or newer Office Version I would do a complete new installation via the EH&S Management Server / CGSADM. Make sure to copy your Rules files and Graphics from the old PC to the new PC.
    Hope this helps

  • Business Rules migration to Calc Manager

    Hi there,
We are currently in 11.1.2.1 and looking at applying the 11.1.2.2 patch. One of the pre-requisites is the HBR migration to Calc Manager. We are trying to find out if there is a better way of preparing the business rules for migration to calculation manager in a distributed environment. We have three planning servers and approx. 4-8 security groups assigned to a business rule. According to the documentation we now have to assign permissions to each planning server (location) individually and then assign each security group individually to each planning server (location). This means a single rule can have up to 27 objects that need to be assigned. When we start talking about 100’s rules & sequences this really adds up. Is there an easier way to do this in a distributed environment.
I have raised an SR with Product Support who have raised an enhancement request and referred me to consulting however this sounds more like a product issue to me.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Seb

    Hi Seb,
I think there may be a somewhat easy answer here. Have you looked at the locations under business rules? You may right click on a location and copy it to another location. I'm pretty certain it copies all security over to the second location also.
Suggest you test this in a non-prod environment if you have one available.

  • Migrating an Solution Manager 7.1 running in Oracle to HANA

    Hi SAP experts,
We were planning to migrate our Solution Manager 7.1 database running in Oracle to HANA.
We will do a  classical migration in which we will be splitting the Java and ABAP stacks and do a database export then migrate to HANA based on this article Classical Migration to SAP HANA)
Is the approach sufficient for migration or are there any options in which we could migrate an existing Solution Manager 7.1 database to HANA?
    Regards,
    Manuel

    Hi,
suppose nothing specific to solution manager
As per the knowledge source, you can either try typical OS/DB migration. But this can be accelerated by DMO also Migration to HANA made easy with DMO
the best suggested option could be via DMO , it was also specified in sap courses.  might be this also can help Migration of SAP Systems to SAP HANA

  • Different service packs in admin server and managed server

    Hi,
Has anybody successfully used a WebLogic 6.1 SP1 managed server that
connects to a WebLogic 6.1 SP 2 admin server?
    BEA's docs claim:
"The Administration Server must be running the same version of
WebLogic Server as the Managed Servers in its domain. The
Administration Server must also have the same or later service pack
installed as the Managed Servers in its domain. For example, the
Administration Server could be running version 6.1, Service Pack 2
while the Managed Servers are running version 6.1, Service Pack 1."
This is precisely what we want to do, but it's not working. In this
case, we need to run the admin server and managed server on the same
machine, but we need the managed server to run SP 1 to work around a
bug in SP 2. So to our initial installation of WebLogic 6.1 SP 2,
where I run the admin server, I added a second installation, this time
    WebLogic 6.1 SP 1, with a different BEA_HOME. When I start the
managed server from this second installation, I can see from the logs
that it is starting up correctly as 6.1 SP 1. But then it fails with
a ClassCastException when connecting to the admin server (I have
included the stack trace below). This seems typical of version
compatibility problems I've had when I've tried connecting to a server
with a client of a different version.
But in this case, you are supposed to be able to have the managed
server with a lower service pack. Does this work for anybody? Has
anybody encountered the problem I'm having? Note that the servers are
not clustered, if that makes any difference, and we have a custom
security realm in addition to the default file realm (though "system"
of course is in the default file realm).
Thanks in advance for any help,

  • Hyperion Planning business rules migrating to Calc Manager issue

It was suggested I post this in calc manager as well, so I hope cross posting is allowed!
We are trying to migrate from Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2
Our business rules were migrated to Calc Manager by our IT team. The rules run (for the most part).
Our main complaint about this migration is that it excluded our comments inside the business rules and added it's own!
When we first open the rule it is in graphical mode. But on the Script Tab I can see our orignal Business rule, but it's missing comments. Not all comments -- those at the top of the rule are intact, but after it starts getting into the meat of the rule, it loses many, but not all of the comments. When I chose to edit this rule in script mode, then calc manager adds tons if its own comments, making the code very junky to read.
So, multiple questions -- how do we get the migration of business rules to calc manager to stop losing our important comments. Is it possible to get the newly migrated rules to initially open in script mode rather than graphical mode so that it doesn't add it's own comments. Or is there a way to turn off the added commenting?
This is a snippet of our rule in 11.1.1.3:
    FIX ("D0P000 Pushdown")

You might learn to appreciate graphical mode in Calc Manager, we do. It is not like the old Business Rules in EAS. I am an old school calc script person, and have NO love for drag-and-drop coding ... I need control. ;-)
Insert a blank script object and paste your code into the 'Script' tab for that object. Set up your prompts and use the {} notation in your code. All of the comments will stay put ... as long as you DON'T USE EDIT, SCRIPT! We make a fair number of generic, reusable pieces of code and save them as shared scripts. These can be dragged into Rules. Click on the Rule's Begin object and choose the Script tab ... you will see how the bits are assembled into complete calc script. We've even come up with a way to use LOOP ... ENDLOOP as though it were a procedural IF statement so we can control whether or not a chunk of code is active or not.
Shared scripts are especially good for currency translation components since we occasionally add new currencies and want to make a change in one object that is used in dozens of business rules.

  • Data Guard broker and EM

    Hi.
    os is RHEL 4U2
    db: primary and standby 10.2.0.1
I want to set a broker to manage a dataguard config.
The documentation is always talking about Entreprie manager grid control.
Is it possible to use entreprise manager (not grid control) on the primary to set this broker and how?
I am asking this because grid control will need more resources.
    Thanks

  • I bought a year ago a Mac with Retina. Screen broke and had to be replaced. Now I am not able to login as a guest

I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. Retina display broke and it had to be replaced.
When I turn on my Mac now, I log in as myself and I am able to see all the icons I had before.
When I log in as a guest, any icons that were there before are gone. The display is blank.
What do I need to do in order to bring back a display and menu I had before.
    Thank you.

  • Exchange DB Architecture and Management

    Hello, everyone!
Anybody knows how to manage an Exchange DBs at begining stage to provide maximum size of DB at 400 GB in future?
It is need to easy manage an DB for example to decrease time DB to be prepared for taking an snapshot of VM's virtual disk on which DB resides.
Will be correct to create additional DB on Exchange server and migrate to it an several mailboxes to provide a maximum size at 400 GB for old DB file?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
I find this for your reference:
Database Size Limit Configuration and Management
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998066(v=exchg.65).aspx
    Detailed information:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\<SERVER NAME>\Private-013e2e46-2cd7-4a8e-bfec-0e4652b94b00
The GUID in this key (Private-013e2e46-2cd7-4a8e-bfec-0e4652b94b00) is an example and should match the value of the
objectGUID attribute on the database’s Active Directory object.
