Is a good practice store pages into ECM ?

Hello there.
My team is building a portal that will be composed by a template/skin and some static pages. We think to put this pages into ECM, there is a good practice? How could i internacionalizate ?
Thanks you.

Why you need to store html pages in ECM ?Is it really required?
If not then why you use mutiple time ucm calls to fetch html pages.
Best practice to store static contents in PortalAssets projects.As per the documentation -
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23549_01/webcenter.1111/e10273/createapp.htm
PortalWebAssets is also a project. PortalWebAssets are intended to include static resources, like HTML and image files, in a newly created portal web assets project.
Here is the link on how to build multilingual webcenter portals-
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25054_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_languages.htm#CJAIIAJF
Apart from your query on internationalization of webcenter ,what kind of objectives you have.
you can manage simply by calling JSTL with EL and UCM mix to achieve it.But again it is simple form.
<c:if test=${view.locale=='en'}>
call ucm english content
</c:if>
<c:if test=${view.locale=='ar'}>
call ucm arabic content
</c:if>
Hope it helps you,

    The only way I know is that you need a physical address and credit card of an English speaking country.

  • Put a child page into a region in a parent page?  (APEX 2.2.0)

    Hi, all,
    Thanks so much for all of your help previously.
    I want to have the entire contents of child page inserted into a region of parent page. The child page uses the "Empty Template" template and has an report region that uses the "No Template" template.
    The parent page has a region containing a single div into which I want to insert the child page. If I do this using JavaScript and htmldb_Get object, inserting the result of the AJAX request into the DIV, I get what I want. I can't figure out how to preload the page into the region.
    I've tried using the URL region, but I keep getting
    ORA-29273: HTTP request failed
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1674
    ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not existwhen I enter the URL for the child page.
    I can't use UTL_HTTP.REQUEST, either.
    select utl_http.request('http://myserver/f?p=100:100:12345678901234')
    from dual;I get roughly the same error. (I copy and paste the same URL that I use for the AJAX request. I can also type that URL into a browser and get the page.)
    I can get both Google's and Oracle's Web sites this way.
    My other option is to render the entire page to a string, store it in a VARCHAR2 / CLOB, and output it to the screen. Is there a way (maybe using WWV_FLOW) to render a page to a string?
    I want to avoid using DHTML when it's not needed and I don't think that I would need it to initially load the page.
    Thanks!

    Carl,
    (Sorry about the reply gap.)
    As best as I can tell, iframes can't auto-fit their contents without JavaScript. I've also heard mixed things about iframes and accessibility. The contents of the iframe also don't inherit the CSS definitions from the parent frame. (None of those may be good enough reasons to not use iframes, but I am totally unfamiliar.)
    There are workarounds for all of those problems, but I'm just as inclined to write some PL/SQL function that generates my page for me and call that from a PL/SQL region, since the page is so simple. It might take me less time to write the PL/SQL function and PL/SQL region than it will to make the iframes look pretty.
    Thanks for the reply!

    Well, that's odd. When I changed my authentication scheme from what I was using to the database authentication (the DAD one), the utl_http.request call works, as does the URL region. So the authentication is getting in the way. I wonder if there is a (elegant) way around that?

    Is WWV_FLOW.SHOW documented? In a PL/SQL region, I can call
    WWV_FLOW.SHOW(P_INSTANCE => '&SESSION.', P_FLOW_ID => '100', P_FLOW_STEP_ID => '1000');where 100 is my app number and 7000 my page number, but it only works if I have no other regions. Otherwise, the page entirely fails to render.

  • What is good practice for playing multiple video's in a single swf?

    Hello,
    I have build in the past a video wall with video's inside. After building this i came across some problems.
    If you have too many video players loading at once it takes a lot of processing and the tweens in the
    page while loading the video's where not moving fluidly, but more in a stuttering way.
    After lot's of test i found a good working solution.  I imported the flv video's into flash en exported them on the timeline
    as a embedded swf.  Then i externally loaded these swf files and that performed much better.
    Is it even good practice to load multiple video instances at once? I used this time the LoaderMax of greensock but the video's
    only play after it's completely loaded. I would like to find a way to progressive play all video's at.
    Does someone has experience with this?
    Regards,
    Chris.

    How about an XML file which supplies the title for each movie and the location or source of the video to be played?  Simple version below.
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    - <playlist>
    <video src="Gfx/video/Alex1.f4v" title="John Deere 330" />
    <video src="Gfx/video/Benni1.f4v" title="Hitachi Z240F" />
    <video src="Gfx/video/Scotti1.f4v" title="Hitachi Z350F" />
    <video src="Gfx/video/Scotti2.f4v" title="Hitachi Z350F" />
    </playlist>

  • Scan multiple pages into a single PDF document?

    How can i scan multiple pages into a single multipage PDF file?
    I've seen similar questions posted, but I haven't found any good answers. The only advice i saw was to scan each page as a separate PDF document, then merge them into a single PDF using third-party software.
    Obviously, i don't want to have to do that.
    I can't believe that there really is no way to do it using the existing HP print/scan utilities provided with the hardware.
    My printer/scanner is the "HP Photosmart 5514 e-All-in-One Printer - B111h", and i'm running Vista (64-bit) on an HP Pavillion notebook.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
    From the HP Scan software (Start > Programs > HP > HP Photosmart 5510 Series > HP Scan) select PDF and ensure the resolution is 300 DPI or lower.
    Ensure the Show Scan Preview option is checked and click on Scan.
    Once scanning the first page completes, place the next page on the glass and click the plus button below the scan preview...
    Once you are done click on Save.

  • HP Envy 4501 won't scan multiple pages into a single document

    My HP Envy 4501 Printer won't let me scan multiple pages into a single pdf document.
    I already made sure that the checkbox "Create a separate file for each scanned page" is not checked under the file section in advanced settings.
    After I scan the first page, I do not get a screen with a + (plus sign) that is supposed to allow you to scan additional pages into the same document.
    Is there any way that I can get a fix/update for my HP Envy 4501 Printer software that would show the screen with the + (plus sign) that allows you to scan additional pages into the same document after you scanned the first page?
    At this point, if I don't get this problem fixed soon, I'm about ready to return my HP Envy 4501 Printer back to the store I bought it from so I can get my money back and buy a printer from one of HP's competitors before my store warranty runs out.
    I am very dissatisfied with HP's printer software, their support services and their web sight that doesn't work half of the time.
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Is VHDX for data drive considered good practice on a client PC?

    Hi!
    I don't like putting user's data files (documents, etc.) inside the user's Documents directory on C:. Instead I prefer having them on a D: disk, separate from the OS. On the other hand I don't want to create a fixed size partition as I consider it a waste
    of space, especially when everything is on a rather small SSD.
    Therefore, I consider creating a virtual hard disk (VHDX) on my C: drive and making it dynamically expanding. This would allow me to store data on that "separate" disk which is actually an expanding VHDX file on C:. One problem is that for some
    unknown reason Windows 8.1 is not able to auto-attach such disks on startup, but I have seen some workarounds to auto-mount them through tasks.
    My question is the following: Is it considered good practice to put all data files on such a dynamic VHDX instead on a separate partition? Reading the VHDX explanations it looks like this file format is very stable (even in case of power loss) and is widely
    used in virtual servers. Performance should be also very good. Therefore I don't see any reason to not use it for my data drive. Or are there any drawbacks?
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    Best regards,
    Anguel

    Hi,
    Since the VHDX is created on C which should be the system partition, I don’t think it is more safety than separate partition.
    Please consider that once the system corrupted and we have to format the C to reinstall the System, it may be difficult for us to recovery the date. But the separated partition will be easily stayed without changes.
    You can try to shrink the C volume in Disk management to create a new partition.
    Just my thought.

  • With firefox, how do I bookmark a new page into folder contained in From Internet Explorer?

    i imported IE favorites into firefox bookmarks. my IE favorites contained many folders with different categoties of information......eg., folders for car repair, investments,etc. now that i am using firefox, how do i
    bookmark a new page into one of the existing IE favorite folders? I have tried every option I could think of using the options shown when i click bookmark this page.......i am getting as far as FROM INTERNET EXPLORER, but i can't seem to find a way to reach one of the sub-folders within the FROM INTERNET EXPLORER folder? also, nothing is happening when i click on the star symbol to the right of the address space?

    thanks for the suggestion....sounds good to Old Goofy! Before your response was received, I continued to fiddle with the popup box that appears when you click the "bookmark this page". in my fiddling, i noticed that at least once, a litlle small solid triangle appeared just before From IE....I clicked on that little triangle and voila, there were all my sub-folders under the main IE folder!!! Nowhere in all the old posted Firefox support had I seen I clear illustration of doing this......probably I missed it or I'm just a dumbie?
    Meanwhile, if anyone is having all kinds of strange problems with computer, and no browsers including IE, with the exception of Firefox, are working properly, if you have Norton Security on your computer and it al;so is not working properly, UNINSTALL NORTON!!!!!!!!!!! That was my situation, to the extent HP free support was going to help me wipe the drive and try to put the computer back "as new", but using a different security program!!!!!

  • Acrobat X Pro makes text disappear from a page when I insert that page into another PDF

    I printed a single page Microsoft Project schedule to PDF using Acrobat X Pro.  All good.  I then inserted that one page into another PDF document using Tools/Insert Pages/Insert from File.  Much of the text in the inserted page goes missing after inserting that page into the other PDF document.  How do I prevent this disappearing text problem?

    Does the inserted page have a lot of markup? I do not think the markup will insert.

  • Insert one html page into another html page

    Hi there,
    I wonder if sombody can help. I am trying to insert one short
    html page into another page. I could not find any option or feature
    in Dreamweaver that allow me to insert the page at all. The page I
    want to insert has the links and it is a short page, just like a
    banner. When I update the links on that page it will update all
    other pages in the website. I do not have to open many pages to
    update. I have been using FrontPage and I am now converting to
    Dreamweaver. Some codes from FrontPage does not work in
    Dreamweaver. I would very much appreciate if somebody can help with
    the codes.
    This is my website so that you can understand what I mean. At
    the top of the screen there are many links that are from one page I
    inserted into index.html. I use FrontPage. But, Dearmweaver does
    not work that way.
    Thank you. Kevin

    Be aware that IFrames carry all the disadvantages that frames
    do, for both
    you and your client's visitors.

  • Overloaded methods-yes or no & is this a good practice

    say i have two methods with the same name that take in the same parameters and have the same return type. the difference between the two is that one is static while the other is not. Also the methods contain different codes.
    are the methods going to function normally when i use em? also if they do function normally, is this essentially a good practice?
    if code is needed to answer this, please do mention it and i will think of a mini scenario where this can be applied and write a small piece of code for that.
    thanx. help will be appreciated.

    each account has its own password that the user sets when the account is created-this password is declared as a state variable in the class file. One password per account? A bad model, IMO. My on-line banking software associates credentials with me, not my accounts. I see several accounts when I log in, and I don't have to log in individually for each one.
    besides that, theres also a bank password-this is declared and initialized as a static state variable in the class file. some of the operations require the bank password for access while others require account password.Static bank password? I'm very glad this is a throw-away student exercise, because you have no idea what you're doing.hahaaa, tru tru, its for a skool assignment for my first ever programming course. though not a throw away, i putting a lot of work into this :-) i m not actually trying to resolve any security issues here or strengthen account security. basically, I am only trying to exhibit a tiny bit of creativity while showing understanding of course contents. so nothing to stress on :-D i know not very creative but its all i got at this stage.
    i was trying to exhibit the use of overloaded methods in my program by having method to check the password that the user enters to access operations.
    now the ones that require account password, i was thinking of having the password check method as a non-static method since its associated with the object.
    while the ones that need bank password, i wanted to have as static method.
    i wanted both methods to have the same name.You've no idea what you're doing.
    how i solved it,
    i decided on having both methods as static methods. the one that checks account password, takes in two parameters, the account name(object name) and the string to be checkd. the one that checks bank password, takes in only one parameter- the string to be checked.Wrong.i would be really thankful if you could help me rectify my mistake and advice on how i should be doing this. is there a conceptual error? i am a bit confused now.
    Its exactly what I told you.. but now, you just have to come on here and post this :p
    and isn't this sort of like cheating? :P I mean this IS our exam you know... You're basically asking other for the arithmetic and logic lol.

  • Is it good practice to auto submit forms?

    My users use forms that involve lots of textual matter and sometimes when after working for hours typing into the forms they might move out to some other links there by not submitting the form.
    Is it a good practice to auto save the contents of the form if there has been no inactivity for 5 minutes?
    What are the pros and cons of this approach?
    One problem the above approach could throw is if the user actually types in some data and forgets to close the browser window, the forms keeps on getting submitting unintentionally. This is ok with the user.
    Other alternatives like prompting the user for saving at frequent intervals have been thought of.

    as long as you can determine there's been no activity (simple enough with onblur/onfocus and other events in the fields) and can save the contents in a way that is not a submission, then it's not a bad idea. I wouldn't save after X minutes while the user is doing some entry, cuz it may interrupt what they are doing. Or you could use hidden frames and JS to save things without affecting the user.

  • Inserting html pages into dw

    I've put together a page of 18 thumbnails that are rollovers
    in Image Ready -
    they click to bring up large images on the same page. The
    large images are
    layered on top of each other.
    How can I insert this page into a dw page that already
    contains some content?
