Is application level logging possible in weblogic server 10.3.3

Hi,
I wanted to know whether application logging is possible or not. i.e. customer deploys an application, a log should be created that would contain the name of the application, size of it, timestamp etc.
Thanks

Hi Yesha,
Yes, you can do application level logging in weblogic server 10.3.3 using log4j . To get the steps how to do it do have a look at the below link.

  • Pagelets not rendering in Fusion ADF application pages deployed on standalone weblogic server

    HI All,
I am creating a Pagelet Producer connection, and dragging a pagelet on the page as iframe, with height auto. When I run the application in the integrated weblogic server, I am able to see the pagelet. However when I deploy the application on the standalone weblogic server, then the pagelet isn't rendered.
I am using fusion ADF application 11.1.1.7  and standalone weblogic server v 10.3.6.
Thanks in advance for yours assistance. Please I need a solution for this uregently. DO let me know, if you need any additonal information.
    Regards,
    Nikhil Mahto

Sorry for the wrong infromation. The correct scenario is:
I have an ADF application, in which I have a Pagelet producer connection, pages and taskflows. This ADF application is inlcuded in a Webcenter Portal Framework application, as a shared library. When the WCF application is deployed on the Weblogic server, the pagelets don't appear on the pages.
I tried the FRAMEBUSTING context parameter to never but it didn't help.

  • How can i build application using Jdeveloper 10g for Weblogic server 10.3

    Hi,
We have a requirement where in we want to build an SOA application using Jdeveloper 10g for Weblogic Server 10.3.
Is there any way to make a connection to Weblogic Server 10.3 from JDeveloper 10g? If there is any way please share it with me.
    Thanks,
    Amit Kumar

    Amit,
SOA Suite is not yet certified for WLS 10.3. You have to wait for the certification of it.
At the moment you can't install the SOA Suite on WLS 10.3 nor connect from JDev 10.1.3 to it.

  • ADF Application Runtime issue in StandAlone Weblogic Server

    Hi All,
I tried deploying my ADF Mobile Browser Application in a StandAlone Weblogic Server. The application was targeted to Admin Server and everything worked fine.
But when Targeted to Managed Server the login page alone was rendered (without CSS). Tried loging in with correct as well as wrong passwords but there was no response from the page. (Login button acted like a dummy one)
Even the managed server log had no error messages.
DataSource where configured correctly and targeted both to Admin n Managed Server.
I tried deploying the same in Client's Testing Environment and the same problem occured even in Admin Server.
I couldnt figure out wats the issue.
    PS:
    Weblogic Server Version : 10.3.6
    ADF Runtime:11.1.1.6
    JDeveloper Version : 11.1.2.1
The App Contains ADF Authentication Security. Will that cause any issue?

Your jdev version and the adf runtime on the wls have to match. Check http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/jdeveloper-versions-vs-weblogic-server-versions/ for a list of matching versions.

  • Application Migration from JBOSS to Weblogic Server

    Hi,
I am facing lots of issues while deploying an .ear file on Weblogic server. In the JBOSS server the application is working properly but whenever I am trying to deploy it on Weblogic server its throwing me an error stating :
"ERROR: No j2ee modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted. "
I tried to convert the things to .war file and tried to deploy the application, the application got deployed but its throwing 'exception'.
Please revert me back with some solution.
    Thanks

    Is this forum about Jboss?
    Is it about Weblogic?
If so, why do you put a question about a non-Oracle non-database product in a forum on Oracle Database?

  • Application level logging in OC4J_SECURITY

    Hi,
Runing Oracle App Server 10.1.4. Attempting to debug some application issues with a custom login jsp app deployed to our sso home's OC4J_SECURITY container. I am not finding expected error stacks from my app or system.out messages in the plethora of logs available. There is nothing that my app is throwing or writing in $OH/opmn/logs/OC4J~OC4J_SECURITY~default_island~1. What the log repository shows as my application's log only seems to hold start up and shut down info. Unfortunately the global log repository search has never worked properly on this install and I'm pretty clueless about where else to look manually. The Apache logs didn't seem to have any I was looking for.
So where o where did my little .out go?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
there are different logs for different purpose. There is another important location *$ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_SECURITY/log/OC4J_SECURITY_DEFAULT_ISLANT_?*
But I believe what you need here is at *$ORACLE_HOME/sso/log*...especially ssoServer.log

  • How do I know if my application is running from within WebLogic server

I have an application that could be running either as a standalone

We have a similar situation here and we took the approach suggested below.
It does work, however it is creating one problem for us.
Sometime after the code below executes, our application attempts to
    construct
the initial JNDI context (in order to look up an EJB Home). In the case
    where
our application is running outside of a WLS instance, we get the following

It would appear that the failed call to getT3Services() is leaving the
    Weblogic client
runtime in a bad state (if we remove this call, there is no problem
    constructing the
    context).
So, the question I have is "is there any *safe* way to determine if an
    application is
running within a WLS?". Thanks in advance for any additional suggestions.

    Try this:
    boolean isInsideWLAS=false;
    try

    isInsideWLAS=true;

  • WebLogic Server EAR Deployment Queries!

    Hi All,
I have few queries with respect to EAR deployment in BEA WebLogic Server
    a) we have a requirement wherein we need to deploy the modified EAR file to one node in a cluster, whereas the other node will still continue to use the old EAR file. Is that possible in a production environment?
    b) we also have a requirement wherein we need to bring down the cluster and start the servers as independent servers instead of a clustered servers from command line without logging into the weblogic server console
    c) we have one more requirement wherein we have all the configuration xml files for each web application in a EAR File. We need a way to deploy the configuration xml file separately if there is a change only to the configuration xml file. Is that possible?
Also, we need to deploy a specific web application in a EAR file instead of re-creating the EAR again. Like an emergency release of one or more web application in a EAR.
    d) Is that possible to update the JAR file and WAR file dynamically which are deployed as part of the EAR file.
Any pointers to info source will be REALLY appreciated.
    Wiating for your reply.
    Many Thanks in Advance,

  • BAM Connection in Weblogic Server 10.3

The application uses a BAM connection to create visualization components in ADF. It works fine in the integrated weblogic server. I deployed the application on a stand alone weblogic server. I am able to launch the page but get an error for the BAM Connection. How can I create a BAM connection in the stand alone weblogic server. Is there something similar to creating a JNDI for a database.

Looks like a possibility that some files got corrupted after the reboot. Looks like a OS specific issue.

  • Startup Class in WebLogic server 6.1

I Have a Java application as startup class in Weblogic server 6.1 . I need to stop
the application without restarting the Weblogi server (The startup class should
be removed and the change should be reflected in WebLogic server). Is it possible
to achieve this. I Know that we can remove the startup class from the console

Even if it is EJB-only, adding .war with startup logic will be more convinient
    than startup classes.

You can deploy web-app(stand-alone, or as a part of an EAR), which has
    servlets marked as
load-on-startup (in that case you can use servlet's init() method to
    perform your startup
logic), or has servlet context listeners registered
    (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/webapp/app_events.html#177041) - contextInitialized()

  • Question about creating new tables using SQL script in WebLogic Server

    Hi,
I am new to WebLogic and I am following a book Java EE Development with Eclipse published by PACKT Publishing to learn
Java EE.  I have installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse on the PC and I am able to log into the WebLogic Server Administration Console
and set up a Data Source.  However the next step is to create tables for the database.  The book says that the tables can be created using
SQL script run from the SQL command line.
I cannot see any way of inputting SQL script into the WebLogic Server Admistration Console.  Aslo there is no SQL Command line in DOS.
    Thanks  for your help.
    Brian.

Sounds like you are to run the scripts provided by a tutorial to create the tables, right?  In that case, you may need to install an Oracle client to connect to your database.  The client is automatically installed with the database, so if you have access to the server that hosts the database, you should be able to run SQLplus from there.
As far as I know, there is no way to run a script from the Admin Console.  I could be wrong, however.

  • Call a class after successfuly starting weblogic server

I need to create a class which which some parameter and start a application automatically just after starting weblogic server so that when user request for application he will get quick response. Actually my application takes some time to be start service so that the very first user need to wait for some time.
I am facing the exception of not founding initial context is thrown because the load-on-startup and
by creating startup class the classes are loaded before the server comes in to running state.
In that case the server doen't have its host name and port configurated.
At the time of application setup we need to get the initial context from t3: by using
host and port. At this stage any of the process is unable to get the context.
Is there any way by which we can automatically call a class after starting the server.

I have deployed a ear file.
which has one Ear project and one ejb module and one portal application and about 4 web applications.
One of my webapplication need to be started before the user start working on any web application.
I have tried to configure and run you suggestion but i am unable to find the place where should i put the listener and startup class entry. my ear project has weblogic-application.xml file i shall put these entry there then xml doesn't validate and i shall get the project compile error. and same case with the application.xml of ear project and portal application weblogic.xml and web.xml file. I have found only one which is not giving compile time error is wlw-config.xml in portal application.
I am working on weblogic workshop 10.2
if you have any idea about that where i can put these configuration entry so that the class will called on firing event by server. then please let me know.
    thanks in advance.
