Is Classic truly classic -- touch screen disabled?

I HATE iPhone. I want to switch back to Blackberry. I want something that is as un-iPhone as I can get.
"Classic" sounds like exactly what I want -- to me, "classic" means keyboard, and a "no surprises" screen Touch screen disabled always, all modes, never, nada. Perhaps I have a little less dexterity than most, but I cannot stand the constant surprises from touching the screen while picking up the device, shifting attention from one place to another, pulling the device out of my pocket, the bumps that happen during phone ring, etc. etc. There are many comments in the forums that articulate my concerns precisely.
Can I disable the touch screen totally, permanently, all modes? If not via a mode setting, can I leave a bit of water on it overnight to saturate the capacitors and disable it that way? A weak acid like vinegar? Is there a wire to cut?
If I can't disable touch screen on Classic, what device should I get -- what's the latest model with a "no surprises" screen -- 9780?

No, you cannot disable the touchscreen.
But you'll love the Classic, it is, as you say, totally unlike any other device.

Blackberry 9900 Touch Screen Disable "TOUCH"

This touch screen makes more unattended calls than any other touch screen. Every time we pull from holster it makes a call. When trying to scroll with keyboard, it selects off the touch screen. Most Bold users don't even want this touch screen feature. How can we disable the touch function?

YES let us disable the lousy touch screen ...... This is a bigger problem than BB wants to talk about, in our case, we are on our 2nd Bold 9930 .... while talking, it will just call the last number dialed, once admitted an incoming call to a conference call, we just replaced our 2nd phone last night and thi morning the same thing. So far, BB says the only work around is to lock the keypad after accepting your call .... UNBELIEVABLE !!!! When will they listen to end users.... it's a buisness phone for pete sake...... all it has to do is take and make calls well FIRST and FORE MOST!!!

I upgrated to Windows 10 on July 31st with my Yoga 2 13 and I only ran into two major issue and a minor issue.
Side note: my Windows logo button on the Bezel (vibrates when you touch it and then brings up the app tiles screen) hasn't worked for some time and still doesn't work after the upgrade - anyone know if there's a software fix, driver location etc?
Major issue 1: No internet connectivity!
- All network devices show up as working properly and all drivers upto date.
- No possibility for network connection not even through bluetooth sharing via mobile phone.
I discovered one post suggesting removing all Cisco VPN connections before upgrading as removal after upgrade didn't resolve the issue.
Fix:
If after upgrading you have no internet connectivity, revert back to your previous windows version, uninstall all Cisco and other VPN clients then reinstall windows 10. Internet connections should work now.
Major issue 2: I am still having issues with Cisco based VPN's not staying connected. Haven't yet investigated a fix at the moment, just dealing with it.

Minor issue:
- Windows 10 doesn't recognize any of the transitional modes of the yoga (as in Lenovo transitions) resulting in the keyboard and mouse being disabled only in full tablet mode. Using Window's Tablet mode button in the action center doesn't disable these inputs either. Until Lenovo comes up with an update to Transitions this could be a serious annoyance for some folks.
Minus these annoyances the move to windows 10 hasn't been too awful. Granted I haven't had much of an opportunity to try all the software I rely on as of yet, but in the next couple weeks I'm sure I'll discover several other hicups.

Touch screen problem. BlackBerry classic

Hi everyone. I've problem with my BlackBerry Classic. The touch screen often doesn't work. When I unlock the device the touch screen is blocked and only work the trackpad and keyboard. I can't use the screen. When I tap on the screen nothing happen. I must block it and unlock several time to work well again. I did a hard reboot but the screen doesn't work properly. Can you help me? Any damage to the screen? Scratches?
Do you use a screen protector? Still have the factory protection on it?
These elements could cause random behaviour of the screen.
Does it happen in specific circumstances like using one single app or browsing the web for instance?

Classic vs the touch

I decided to get an ipod and thwen I saw the touch.. Originally I wanted an ipod to play music..but the touch looks really sleek...but...16 gb? Is this a joke? Can you put dvds on your comp and then straight to the ipod?

1. Yes, 16-gb is the max. The reason is the iPod Touch uses Flash memory instead of a hard drive just like the Nano. For $199 you can get an 8 GB iPod Nano with video or you can pay $100 more and get a 8 GB iPod Touch which includes a screen about 3x larger, album cover scroll, the best hand held WiFi web browser money can buy and the awesome Apple touch technology. If you need > 16 GB then get something else.
2. You can pull movies off DVD to the iPod Touch just like you can previous video iPods and the iPhone. Several tools available to help you do this, Apple does not provide this built into iTunes because of legal issues.

It is a glass display and the average lifespan depends on a number of factors such as how often it is used and under what conditions, etc. I would say 2 - 3 years overall is a very good number for these types of devices, but many users recieve many more years of use than that.
