IS Hostname for JCD

Is there a way to get the host name of the integration server a jcd is running on in the jcd itself in jcaps 5.1 2.??

There are two ways
1. Setting the JVM system property. For example add JVM option -DISName = YourISName and then in JCD you can say System.getProperty("ISName")
or
2. I do not remember exact property name on top of my head, but if scan through the domain.xml, you should be able to see a property, so you can directly use that property in your jcd.
Thanks

  • Multiple hostnames for multiple domains

I am currently running 3.0SP4 in Open mode without a gateway. I have one server instance with two domains (call them domain1 and domain2). Instead of having users have to go to append the domain name to the server URL, I would like to create two separate hostnames for each domain (call them domain1.test.com and domain2.test.com, both are in the same subdomain). I added both hostnames to the system and to the DNS and can reach the server fine. I followed the procedures in the iPS Admin Guide (Chapter 8 Configuring the Gateway, Using Virtual IP and DNS Names), adding the following:
    domain1->Authentication->Domain URLs
    /domain1
    domain1.test.com
    domain1.test.com/domain1
    domain2->Authentication->Domain URLs
    /domain2
    domain2.test.com
    domain2.test.com/domain2
I also editted the platform.conf file to include:
    ips.virtualhost=domain1.test.com domain2.test.com 111.111.111.111
Domain1 is set to be the default domain.
    I don't want to permit access to domain1 from domain2.test.com, or vice-versa.
When I go to domain1.test.com, it brings up the login screen fine and I can log in. When I try to go to domain2.test.com, I get a No Such Domain error.
I think this might be because it might be trying to redirect domain2.test.com to the default domain (domain2.test.com/domain1) and so I get this error, since it is not in the Domain URLs for domain2.
Or is it a separate problem? How can I fix this?

I found my problem... had to do with the default domain Domain URLs.

  • Use of Hostname for connectivity through client in 10g

    Hi,
Can anyone please clarify the use of host name and DB name? I mean currently we are using Oracle 8.0.5 where clients are connecting to Database using the hostname for e.g "Dataserver"... but now we are planning to migrate our DB to 10.2.0.1 where in testing phase when we created database with same name i.e "Dataserver" oracle doesnt allow this as giving error that DB name cannot b same of host name... now i want to know is there any possibility in 10g that we can use host name for connecting to DB through clients?
this question requires urgent attention as we need to migrate our database as early as possible.

  • LMS 4.2.2 how to automatically resolve the hostname for device identity?

    Hi,
iam running lms 4.2.2 and i do not know where to set up lms to resolve the hostname for device identity.
In "Inventory/Manage Devices /Device identity", having the "Device Name", "Hostname" and "IP Address" set to the discovered IP (f.e. 10.100.100.20).
I want that the "DCR Device Name"  and "IP Address" is the discovered ip (10.100.100.20), but not the hostname (should look like AS100_Swtich_00-1, as it is set on the switch).
Editing the hostname manually for over 1000 discovered devices will be inefficient...
    regards,
    CCNP R&S

    Hi,
I have a same problem.  i send the screenshot which shows where you can set what will be the preferred device name. ( earlier the sysname checkbox was ON )
Unfortunetly after discover and inventory upgrade jobs the device names are not restored to IP, they keep the hostname as preferred device name.
Now i do not know how can i change these settings automatically.

  • Urgent! Changing hostname for J2EE installation

    Hello,
I'm getting confused! I'm trying to change the hostname for a j2ee engine installation (WebAS 6.40)!
WebAS and DB are on the same server. I did everthing from the note 757692!!!
But when I change in the registry the  key SAPLOCALHOST to the new servername and then start the j2ee engine the key is changed back to the old hostname!! and the engine is not starting!
I'm using windows 2003 with WebAS 6.40 SP14 and MS Sql as database.
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards
    Olaf

Has this question ever been answered? I tried everything in the note as well, still can't get it to work.
As a workaround i'm now installing the J2EE Engine on another server, then gonna do a java system copy via export/import. but i'd like to get the note to work as well.

After installing i tried to go to system settings but it prompted me for my hostname, user name and password. I wasnt sure what hostname to enter though i have my user name and password with me.
I'm setting it up for my friend's office and he doesnt have any domain name attached to it. I googled hostname for mac os x server but they said i need to have a fully qualified domain name.
Can i ignore this hostname problem? Cause its just a home business my friend is running and he just need his ical server up and thats it.
    thanks all for reading.

To strengthen Camelot's comments here, most everything in a modern network is dependent on the host name and on the associated DNS. Proper DNS (or proper static definitions) are a prerequisite; if the host name and the DNS or the static hosts pieces aren't configured and operating correctly, then you'll be chasing all sorts of problems. The host and DNS pieces are the foundation of network security, and most everything on a network these days eventually involves network security, hence...

  • Hostname for Standby Database

    Hi All,
We are setting up standby database for MSSQL2008 in windows 2008 R2 environment. For our customer scenario, their infra team insist of using log shipping to transfer log file and file replication to to replication SAP files.
Therefore, i've a question in mind.. Do we need to maintain identical hostname for primary and standby database? fyi, they have cluster their primary and DR host.
If different hostname, virtual hostname is used, basically we can just drop the primary host from the domain and change that respective hostname, virutal hostname and ip for the DR host during swing over? If that's the case, is the any other action we need to perform? Do we need to change any registry? I believe SAP profiles and etc are identical due to the file replication.
If same hostname is maintained for both primary and standby host, i believe we might need to isolate standby host from the network and change the entries in DNS or routing table during swing over?
Any feedback and good suggestion are mostly welcome and much appreciate.
    Cheers,
    Regards
    Nicholas Chang.

    Hi,
when the primary and the standby database server are on the same network, they have to have a different hostname.
Is the SAP Ci on the same Cluster as the DB (active-active Cluster) ?
Is the SAP System itself a cluster ?
You have three different scenarios here:
    - only the DB cluster is failing
    - only the CI Cluster/System is failing
    - both systems are failing
For the first case you can
    - either change the profiles of the primary SAP system to point to the new DR DB Host
    - or define a AD alias in beforehand, to which you connect normally.
Then you have to change the alias only to point the SAP System to the new DR DB Host
For the second case you can
    - change the profiles of the DR SAP System to point to the primary DB Host
    - or define a AD alias in beforehand, to which you connect normally. When you start
the DR SAP Systen then, it will connect to the primary DB Host
For the third case you can
    - change the profiles of the DR SAP System to point to the seondary DB Host
    - or define a AD alias in beforehand, to which you connect normally.
In the DR case you have to change the Alias in the AD and then you can
start the DR SAP Systen. It will connect to the primary DB Host
Changing the virtual or physical hostname during DR swing over is not a good option,
as you have too many side effects. Using an Alias is much easier and faster.
Using Database Mirroring (SQL 2005 or higher) will eliminate case 1, as the SAP
system can swing over to the DR side automatically in the DR case.
    Best regards

  • Performance tuning for JCDS query

    Hi All,
I have a performance issue in following query.Any Idea how can it be improved?
        SELECT objnr udate utime
               FROM jcds
               INTO TABLE it_jcds
               WHERE objnr LIKE c_or
                AND   stat = l_tj02t
                AND   cdtcode LIKE c_co
                AND  inact = space.
    Fields          Distinct values
    CDTCODE                  111
    INACT             192
Only one index i.e Primary Index
    UNIQUE     Index   JCDS~0 (Compute)
    Column Name                     #Distinct
    MANDT                                          3

    STAT                                         100
    CHGNR                                        319
Is 'like' statement causing the performance issue and how can it be corrected?
Or Index can be created for this?

You can try this: Create 2 ranges, for objnr and cdtcode and fill like:
    ra_objnr-sign = 'I'.
    ra_objnr-option = 'CP'.
    ra_objnr-low = 'OR*'.
    append ra_objnr.
    ra_code-sign = 'I'.
    ra_code-option = 'CP'.
    ra_code-low = 'CO*'.
    append ra_code.
    SELECT objnr udate utime

  • Wrong Hostname for OIM/OAM implementation

    Hi everyone,
I'm having some issues with OAM redirecting using the machine name instead of fully qualified hostname.
Linux: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6 (Tikanga)
In my base domain I have installed OIAM 11.1.1.5 (OIM, OAM, SOA, OAAM) and in my secondary domain sits IDM 11.1.1.5 which has OVD, OID, ODSM.
For my base domain, OAM appears to be listening on http://machine... when I try to login using http://machinename.domain/7001/oamconsole it fails because the page redirects to https://machinename:14101/oam/server/ and this fails... likewise http://machine.domain:14000/oim sends me to the same oam link and ends up failing
i'd like it to use the fully qualified hostname including domain... how do i do this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The likely suspects for this would be the settings for the OAM Server(s) and Load Balancing (if set) in the oamconsole. Please check the hostname settings in the "System Configuration" tab in the screens for the OAM servers (oam-server1 etc) under "Server Instances", and in the "Load Balancing" settigns in "Access Manager Settings".

  • Is it possible to have 2 hostnames for the same ip in 9iASr2 installation??

    Hi,
I am going to install 9iAS (9.0.2.0.1) on solaris 5.8, the hostname in nodename and hosts files all point to a name which I don't like to use, is it possible to add another entry in these files for the 9iAS?
The reason behind this is that the 9iAS installation Guide said I can't change hostname after install, but I like to have a meaningful name for the 9iAS when access OEM and HTTP home pages like:
    http://goodName:7777
Do you know any other workaround?
    Thanks

It is not possible to create two tables with same name in same schema.
A user can own one schema with his own name and another with the schema name SYS.
For this you have to grant sysdba privilage to the user and then have to connect using sys password or with the password specified in password file.
But this still you have to access to the table in sys schema using sys.table_name.
    Hope Answered tthe Question.

  • Hostname for Jdeveloper app server connection

    Hi,
First, I know this is a pretty simple question, so please take it easy on me ;-)
I installed eBS successfully on a Windows XP laptop and am trying to set up a JDeveloper application server connection so I can do some OAF development work. Should I choose Oracle Application Server 10g or Standalone OC4J? How do I figure out my hostname and port number?
I've set up the database connection ok, but I'm pretty new to working on the application server side.
    Many thanks.

for the prot if you mean the ebs it depent on the port pool u choose during the installation for ex.
port pool 0 ---> http port is 8000 and database port is 1521
port pool 1 --->http port is 8001 and database port is 1522 ...etc
you should connect to ebs using
    http://yourservername.domianname:port
for the application server if you installed 11i ebs then the applicaiton server version is 1.0.2.2.2

You'll need to ask your email provider for their exact configuration. Server address, ports if different from default etc.
Each Email provider has their own configuration and only they now how it is set up.
Usually there is some kind of documentation outlining this.

  • Why to resolve hostname for Incoming T3 Connection

    Hello:
Can anyone please tell me as why the WebLogic managed server needs to call java.net.InetAddress.getByName
for an incoming T3 connection from a remote WebLogic EJB client.
This requires that the server that the WebLogic managed server is running be able
to resolve a hostname. This seems unnecessary, since the managed server is acting
as a TCP server in this scenario, and it requires additional network configuration
to be able to resolve hostnames from incoming clients.
