Is India an important market to Nokia?

Does Nokia consider their Asian customers good enough to warrant the 3-month old "new" firmware update v21 to be provided for the N95-1, product code 0548986? Seriously, this is not the way I thought Nokia would ignore their customers! We are still stuck at v20!
Anybody knows what the Plan of Action is on Nokia's part about this particular model??

The problem is:
1. It has been 5 months already! I would understand weeks, but coming from an electronics background, I can't think of any reason for delaying a relatively common release by 4 months!!
2. The good thing about the Indian market is, there is no concept of operator-specific phones! They're all (atleast the ones that are above the $20 bracket) unlocked and owned by the user themselves! Hence, that can never be an impediment in the Indian market!
In case someone from Nokia is looking at these forums, can I have atleast an idea of when can we expect our own v21 formware?

i just got a "new" sony ericsson LT15i smartphone and wanted to import the data from my old nokia 2710 "dumbphone" my problem is that Xperia Transfer doesn't support sms import from my nokia phone - only contacts are supported.
do you have any ideas, experiences or workarounds to import my sms from my old phone?
one limitation though: it should be an offline method. i don't want my sms to be on some server...

Job Pricing - Import Market Survey File Specs

I am in the process of importing the market survey data. The import of the survey data does not work. Does anyone have the specs for importing the file? Below is what I have.
Remove all commas from numbers
Salary amounts in full amount (81000)
Remove currency symbols
Never use percent signs
Beaware of the leading zeros
Any suggestions of what people have ran into when trying to import the survey data would be greatly appreaciated.

Survey data was missing a key field, which is the Job Level. Need to include Job + Job Level for matching against the Job Catalog.

Yes. Sync the contacts from the Nokia to the contact manager on your computer (Outlook on PC, Contacts/Address Book on Mac) then sync the contacts from there to your iPad via iTunes or iCloud.

Import photos from Nokia 6263

Have a Nokia 6263, the jpg's from this phone cannot be read by iPhoto, it tries to read them but says that the import failed. I have been able to open these files in Photoshop and re-save them as jpg's and then open them in iPhoto. In Photoshop it says that the color profile doesn't match or something like that.
Is there a way to import the files directly to iPhoto without the extra step?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

No. Though you may not need to use Photoshop. It may be enough to open and save them in Preview.
In Photoshop it says that the color profile doesn't match or something like that.
It might help if you could tell us that message exactly.

Import contacts in Nokia 130

We have 150 contacts in PC Suite + Nokia Suite + exported as .csv+.txt. And in an old 6230i.
How can we import them into our new 130? Sending via Bluetooth as vcard one by one works but would take hours of manual operations.

Import problems with Nokia N8 HD footage - help?

Hi, I have shot mp4 video on my Nokia N8 at 720 25p. It plays fine on the phone, in Ovisuite, on VLC mediaplayer and on NeroVision 10.
However, when I import into Premiere it comes in with a frame rate of 500fps, so plays mega fast, although the audio sounds fine.
I tries changing the frame rate to 25fps, but the result is quite smeary and the audio plays really slowed down.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, because as it plays perfectly on everything else (and also edits perfectly in NeroVision10) this suggests a Adobe problem?

Yeah, I just did "Export to MPEG-4" and went with the default settings, which seemed to match his original footage... that file was good. I didn't know about the "Save As" option remuxing everything...
OK, that explains it; anything tagged "Export" in MPEG Streamclip will actually force a recompression and repackaging. That's why the file is fixed when you do that: there is actually something weird about the video stream itself, and not just the container MP4. The Save As option will simply split the streams out and dump them in a new container; that usually fixes container issues but not stream issues.
However, a possible solution is to use Save As, but change the format to MOV; again, there is no reencoding, but for whatever reason, the MOV lets the video be imported (mostly) correctly, with sound. The file I just tested comes in with a frame rate of 25.06 (!) and looking at the Properties says this:
This movie appears to have DROPPED FRAMES.
There are 256 frames with a duration of 1/25th.
There is 1 frame with a duration of 3/25ths.
I think this is part of the explanation why the MP4 container falls apart, and why doing a full reencode fixes it, even to an MP4. The MOV can be reinterpreted to 25fps, if necessary, but it should be a problem leaving it as is for this purpose; just drop in a 25fps sequence and edit away.
I suspect the frame rate discrepency came from the fact that this is undoubtedly a low power encoder (since it's in a cell phone), and the waving motion simply maxed out the encoder. In fact, at one point, you can see the video freeze for three frames--which just happens to correspond to the "1 frame with a duration of 3/25ths" report above

Import messages from Nokia 3120 Classic to Nokia 2...

Hello everyone.
I recntly bought a new Nokia 225 to replace a Nokia 3120 Classic.
I thought it would be esay to transfer contacts and messages from one to the other with the Nokia PC Suite.
Unfortunately, PC Suite doesn't seem to be able to manage the 225.
I can't imagine that it is not possible to transfer at least messages from 3120 to 225. It is very important to me because some of these messages come from departed friends and parents.
Do you know a method (that works!) to backup messages from my old 3120 and restore them to the new 225?

Hello, jelodagh. The only option that you can do is to forward those messages to your Nokia 225. Note that the said phone model supports USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) mode. It means that you can only transfer media files between your computer and your phone. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Unable to import Laps to Nokia Sports tracker

Ive got a Nokia 6110 navigator and find Nokia sports tracker very usefull for tracking my Running execises. Th phone record everything include making laps for every 1 km, but when I upload the tour as a gpx-file to the sporttracker portal, I dont get the laps. Anybody have the same problem, or even better: a solution ?

Bought a New Lumia 800 - But Dec 2011 packaging

Hi friends bought a Lumia 800, but got a Dec' 11 packaging instead?
Can I go ahead and accept it? I know I will have to apply fixes, upgrades from scratch, I am ready to do that just that will Nokia honor me warranty upto 22nd July 2012 given that I bought it on 23rd of July 2012?
And one more concern, I need to apply the Battery fix but I guess phone's software will select latest update of June 2012, skipping Jan/Feb battery fix, which I need anyways? How can I do it?

On the contrary, India is an important market for Nokia, so I very much doubt Nokia views Indians with any contempt at all.
Who told you there was a "no refund" policy?
Regardless of refunds, your phone is still well within the warranty period and you are entitled to the same service as anyone else in any other country. For what it's worth, you wouldn't get a refund here in the UK or anywhere else in Europe after 2 months either, so it's nothing to do with the fact that you're in India.
Have you actually tried to get the phone repaired? If so and it wasn't repaired to your satisfaction, did you take the matter up with Nokia Care in your country?

Nokia Music (Software) - Can't import files

Hi
I'm having trouble importing music with Nokia Music (Version 1.2.20226.01). The files are in a folder on my Windows desktop, but for some reason when I try to import them into Nokia Music, it doesn't see them.
Even stranger is the fact that the files play through Nokia Music, but I cant seem to import them into the PC Collection.
Has anyone had a similar problem or can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

I'm experiencing this problem for the 2nd time now. The first time I tried everything I could think of and ended up contacting nokia support... this is the solution I was given:
I would suggest that you kindly uninstall Nokia Music application from your PC by following the steps below:
The Nokia Music installation is shown in:
Add/Remove programs listings within Control Panel of Windows XP (Classic View)
Both of these locations can be navigated to by pressing Windows Key + R > enter: appwiz.cpl
Within the list that shows all of the non-OS (Operating System) installed programs on the PC, there will be entry for Nokia Music. Select this entry, then select "Remove" from the options to the right. After the uninstallation process has succeeded, you may be prompted to restart your PC, please do so. Kindly note that this process will remove the Nokia Music application only. It will not remove any music content downloaded from the service.
Once removed from the PC, delete or rename the MDataStore.db3 file in C:/documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database. Then reinstall the Nokia Music client again and attempt to download the music content.
NOTE: The <username> will be the Windows username used by customer.
Steps to locate the MDataStore.db3:
C:/documents and settings/<username>/local settings/application data/nokia data store/database
Please select Tools>folder options>view> show hidden files and folders (from windows explorer). Kindly reboot PC after deleting the MDataStore.db3 file.
Before reinstalling Nokia Music client, please note the following:
1) If security settings are set too high, the Nokia Music client may not have installed properly.
In Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites, and set the default level to Low.
2) If you are using internet security or firewall, such as Norton Internet Security, Panda or Zone Alarm, they may block the Active X control from running. Check the program configurations, and lower the overall security settings to medium/low
3) It is recommended that you add Nokia domain (*.nokia.com) as a trusted site in your firewall.
4) Kindly ensure that your Internet connection is stable. After the above steps are followed, please try again to download Nokia Music client. You can refer to the link below to download and install Nokia Music client:
