Is it common to use cflogin ?

Hi, I'm using cflogin for my login/logoff actions inside my
application.cfm(sample pasted below). There is basically only a few
users on this app. I'm new to coldfusion so my questions are:
1. Is this a new common practice to use cflogin?
2. In firefox, every time I login, I see a cookie generated,
but in IE, I don't seem to see a cookie being generated so how come
it still works in IE, is cookie hidden?
Thanks so much for your help,
C
My sample cflogin code:
<cflogin>
<cfif NOT IsDefined("cflogin")>
<cfinclude template="loginform.cfm"> <cfabort>
<cfelse>
<cfif cflogin.name eq "admin">
<cfset roles = "user,admin">
.......

1. In the future, I may have to incorporate roles into my
login system,
I've seen this code before, I was wondering if you had any
comments or
experiences on this?
Yes it can, then you use the isUserInRole() function to
determine get a
boolean of whether the user is in a given role. This is one
of the
limitations that prompted us to role our own system. You can
ask if a
user is in a given role, but you can not ask, what role(s) is
a user in.
2. Dan, in my cflogin code in application.cfm, I don't set
any cookie
(not knowingly), but it still seems to work, is this a
problem in my
code that I have to investigate ?
CF automatically sets the needed cookies, CFIDE/CFTOKEN
usually. You
only need to worry about this if you want to insure that
these cookies
are temporary memory cookies that expire that the closing of
the
browser. Otherwise they default to being permanent cookies
with
temporary values in them.

  • Logging in using cflogin from 2 different computers

Hi, I am new to coldfusion. I am writing a login page using
<cflogin> and <cfloginuser> and a query to the database
to see if the username/password combination exists.
If so, the user is logged in.
The problem is that if I open a new window of the browser on
a different computer, I am instructed to login again ! This is
because the login data is stored in a cookie, am I right?
What should I add to "save" the fact that the
username/password combination has been already used so that two
user's can't login from 2 different computers using the same
    username/password?

At one point I was somewhat uneducated as a consumer on certain abbreviations.  I began to check around the internet but I never found a complete list of all of the abbreviations used in today’s technological world.  Over time I have collected a list of every network and printer-related term in relation to HP.  I am happy to share this with the world because sometimes when trying to troubleshoot within the forums and other web-based documents the writers can forget that not everyone knows the abbreviations and if you do not know sometimes you can get left behind and feel frustrated.   If you know of any other industry-standard abbreviations regarding printers, faxing, and network-connections feel free to post more here.

  • Which Business Security Solution is common seen / used in your country? [malware event]

    Hi all
I believe some of the technical people would be curious and try to find out what security solutions is used for government, education, place of interest or organizations. I am one of it.  * I did not use any of their machines, I saw it through Taskbar.
I am not biased for any security products, this is based on what I seen outside.  Commonly either Symantec or McAfee in Singapore for business security.
Government managed hospital -  Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition
IBM Singapore - Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition
Institute of Technical Education Singapore - Symantec Endpoint Protection
Singapore Polytechnics (including Student's Personal Laptop if direct purchase) - Symantec Endpoint Protection
Primary and Secondary Schools (under Ministry of Education) - McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
    SCDF - McAfee VirusScan Enterprise
I also seen some Microsoft and ESET security products running around SMB when I was asked to go to client sites to assist setup for presentation. So far, I have not seen any other products from other security vendors.
It would be great if you can share your findings, so all of us would know which security vendors is more popular for different areas, etc.

  • How do I rebuild a common library used by both iPhoto and Aperture?

I'm using a common library for both iPhoto and Aperture—latest versions of each and Mavericks. I'm finding photos that are in the library that seem to have fallen out of their events or projects. When I open those events or projects, the folders are empty, however the photos are still in the database. How do I rebuild this library so as to recover my original organization?

it will not matter, if you rebuild in iPhoto or Aperture.
You rebuild the library by launching either Aperture or iPhoto while holding down the key combination⌥⌘  (option-command)  and double-clicking  the Aperture or iPhoto icon. Keep holding down the keys, until you are seeing the Library First Aid panel.  Select to Rebuild the database.
Back up your library before rebuilding.
When I open those events or projects, the folders are empty, however the photos are still in the database. How do I rebuild this library so as to recover my original organization?
Where are you seeing the photos, that are missing from the projects, but are still in the database?
Rebuilding will collect photos, that have lost the connection to the edited versions, and show them in a "Recovered Project".  It will not restore them to the original  projects, if it is not clear, what where the originals belong to.
Have you checked, if you have filters set, that are hiding the photos? Check the search fields in the browser and the Info panel, if they are cleared and set to "Show All".

  • How doI stop it opening the internet with Creative Commons and use another search engine e.g. Google?

When I first go to the internet with Firefox, then want to type in what I am looking for, it opens with Creative Commons. I would MUCH rather it opened with a search engine such as Google. How do I change to this? N.B I am using a Mac.

    ''morflorian wrote:''
if the migth-be protocol has no handler, assume it is just a search engine request).
The main problem with that would be that Firefox would fail to notify the user in case of a valid protocol that's not associated with a program, and would instead send the URL as a search query. Firefox would appear broken, when in fact the problem is with the external application. That's far from desirable. This isn't an uncommon occurrence with externally-handled protocols like ''magnet''.
Also, I don't think the vast majority of people are likely to run into this problem. Even those that do can easily work around it, by placing the search words first (e.g. ''gingerbread intitle:recipes''), or by starting the query with a search engine keyword (e.g. ''g date:1 heartbleed aftermath''). To assign a keyword to a search engine, click the icon in the search bar and choose Manage Search Engines.
If you feel very strongly about this, head over to the ''#firefox'' [http://irc.mozilla.org IRC channel] and see if you can find someone familiar with the File Handling component. If they think this change is a good idea, you could then file a bug report.

  • Joining two tables having no common fields using one select query

    Hi Experts,
How to join two tables which are NOT having any field in common using only one select query?
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Identify a third table (or more tables) with common fields with your two tables, or change your question either removing JOIN or removing NO COMMON FIELDS, else you wont get many responses and will be left alone in outer space, as suggested by Thomas.
If you acturally require what you written, better execute two select and merge the two internal tables merging every record from first table with every record of second table, til no more memory is available.

  • How do I set up different icloud accounts for each family member and make them able to access them on our common mac using their user name on the mac.  I am doing this to make sure kids don't get access to our messages.

We have several apple products in the family.  I would like to set up different icloud accounts for each memeber.  I lately noticed having activated different devices with same icloud account that each device can access everyones messages by going in their settings and clicking which number or email they want to use to see messages.  Let me make sure I am understood, on my sons ipod in his messages settings he can switch to my cell number and see all my messages.  Re setting the devices isn't my great issue but can i set up each kids user account on my mac to their individual icloud accounts?
    Thanks!

Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account.  For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).

  • Upgrade to 10.5 fails - Not enough diskspace in Common Partition - db_hist using most of the space

    Hi All,
Tried upgrading our UCCX 9.0(2) SU1 HA deployment to 10.5(1) last night and it failed with the following message -
There is not enough disk space in the common partition to perform the upgrade. Please use either the Platform Command Line Interface or the Real-Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) to free space on the common partition.
RTMT reported the Common diskspace used as 94%. Using RTMT we set the LogPartitionHighWaterMarkExceeded to 55% and waited for diskspace to free up. No such luck.
A little more investigation and it turns out there is a database called db_hist_dbs in the Common partition that is 33GB in size. This is the command and returned output we used to find this out -
    show diskusage common
    8.0K    /common/moh
    33G     /common/var-uccx/dbc/db_hist_dbs
    1.6G    /common/var-uccx/dbc/temp_uccx_dbs
    201M    /common/var-uccx/dbc/uccx_er_dbs
    1.6G    /common/var-uccx/dbc/uccx_ersb_dbs
    37G     /common/var-uccx/dbc
    37G     /common/var-uccx
    16M     /common/ontape_backup.gz
    8.0K    /common/cancel_upgrade
Using this command - show uccx dbserver disk - we can see that the db_hist database file is actually 80% free! Output from the command here -
SNO. DATABASE NAME      TOTAL SIZE (MB) USED SIZE (MB) FREE SIZE (MB) PERCENT FREE
     4    db_hist                            34508.6                 6836.9                  27671.7             80%
Anyone have any ideas on how to shrink the file size of the database in question? Is it even possible? Or what are our options to get around this and perform the upgrade.
    Thanks in advance
    Jeff
