Is it legal to distribute jre like this?

Hello! I'm a java developer living in Republic of Korea. Because I want my java program to be executed in any PC which didn't install jre or jdk before,
So I want to copy my jre folder(C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_19) into my java program folder and distribute them together.
Is this possible? Or is this prohibited? Please give me a reply when you feel convinient. I'll wait your reply with favor. :)

Can you distribute your application form a web server?
If so, you are in luck, because Sun has a far better alternative.
1) Use [deployJava.js|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/deployment_advice.html] *(<- link)* on the web site to make sure the end user has the minimum required Java to run the application. In my case, it would check that my Ubuntu Linux box has 1.5+, discover it has 1.6, and provide me the link to launch the application without any further downloads. Note that I don't want any 1.5 JREs installed on this machine, and certainly not the JRE for Windows!
2) Go on to launch the application using [Java Web Start|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/index.jsp] *(<- link).* JWS offers many nice features besides simply installing and running the application, including..
- Automatic program updates.
- Desktop integration (menu item, desktop shortcut).
- File associations.
- Splash screens.
- ..and much more.
It might be possible (I have never checked) to use step 1 above, but instead of linking to the web start launch file mentioned in step 2, to link directly to an executable Jar. If you want to distribute your software on CD, for people with no internet connection, you would include the deployJava.js on the disk and use HTML pages (also on the CD) to guide the user through launching the application.

    The license did not have use restrictions Licenses and terms of use | Adobe
    BUT... when your one year Education account ends, I do not think you will be able to renew at the Education rate

    I have ant-based installer that uses JRE to run. I want to ship this in a CD. To make life easier for the end user, I would like to ship JRE in the CD as well. I just want to know that is it LEGAL to ship JRE for an installer that is suppose to run on windows platform.

    this topic,so I had to place it here.This seems to be something that you are fairly concerned with. In that case I suggest that you speak to someone who has a legal background, and more importantly someone you can use should you actually run into legal battles. Nothing anyone here says would cover you in the case of a legal battle. I believe you can get information about this from the eff (not sure weather or not that is accutrate though, so if someone else has more information please correct me).

    I hope Director 12 is not a crap, another loser version, so I can proudly move to Director 12,

    the Adobe "scientist" can make those progress. Sorry for being harsh, I just REALY CARE
    about Director future.

    Then it should be Director 13 then.

    Complexity of the current practice:
    We have 3 legal entities in Spain and their functional currency is EUR.
    Similarly, we have 3 legal entities in Germany having EUR as their functional currency.
    In order to perform a currency translation from EUR to USD - in a case like this,
    We need to maintain
    for each entity
    One weighted average rate for u2013 Revenues/ Costs/ Expenses
    In total there will be 6 weighted average rates for Revenues/ Costs/ Expenses.
    (And this is only for two entities)
    Has anyone come across a scenario like this??
    Can we achieve the weighted average rate calculations in SAP??

    The difficulty and time to do it depends on the learning
    capability of the new programmer. Patience and a drive to learn is
    what all is needed. Accomplishing one step at a time is probably
    the best approach, whether you're new or well-versed.

    I would want to retrieve a node using a unique 'id', for example the absolute index (into the total nodes count)

    2. Erase any web address you have currently showing (for example www.apple.com or www.google.com)
    3. Type in www.amazon.com

    It sounds like either your hard drive or the SATA cable that connects it to the motherboard are failing. This could be heat related in your case, which is why you see it after it runs awhile. You can take it to the Genius Bar for a free evaluation. If you decide to test it yourself, I usually suggest moving the hard drive to an external enclosure. If it works there for awhile, the cable is probably the issue.

  • Does Something Like This Exist Already (for Window Managers)

    I know that one can use idesk to produce launchers for desktop programs in window managers like Openbox, but what about an actual small file manager, that always sits on the desktop, confined to its own little space.  Kind of like conky, if this makes sense. 
    I don't have a great deal of programming knowledge, just basics, but I've toyed with the idea of making a script to constantly reedit the idesk config file to do this, and while it could work, it's messy at best, and doesn't provide the same desired effect that a small desktop folder sitting on the WM desktop would.
    If this does exist, I give my apologies, but I did try to search Google for it, but got junk results.  Also, would something like this be feasible? (I am looking for a way to improve my programming skills over the summer, and was thinking that this could possibly be a way to do it.)  Even further, would it be acceptable to use Python for it?

    Did my best to try to elaborate by using an example there on a screenshot of my desktop. (A sloppy edit done in the GIMP)
    EDIT: What I would be looking for is something contained to that spot, so that way, if I were to right click inside of the rectangle, such as on a file, I would get options with what to open the file, or something else, even copy, cut, paste, or delete.  However, if I were to right click outside of the rectangle, I would get my openbox menu.  Hope this helps make more sense.

    Okay, Let's assume that Apple is indeed THAT foolish.......How does one get the photos from the phone to the PC and still use them?

    The photos are still on your phone, and if enabled in your Photo Stream. They are not automatically transferred to your computer when syncing.
