Is it normal that MAX keeps losing my RDA device on client PC?

I have an RDA server running giving my client PC (W2000) access to the PCI-6025E DAQ channels. The problem is that everytime the client PC shuts down or hibernates, the DAQ channels disappear and I have to manually go through the process of adding the device again. Also, for some reason, I get duplicate copies of the channels under Data Neighborhood, with one channel good and one marked with a red X. The server is running LabVIEW 7.1, and the client is running 6.1 (which I can't upgrade at the moment for various reasons).
Is this the way MAX is supposed to work? Or is an added device supposed to be persistent? If devices are not persistent, is there a way to programmatically add the device?

Hi Ricardo,
When the remote computer starts up, often I can see the virtual channels all with red X's indicating that they are broken, and the PCI-6025E device is not in the device list. When I add it to the list, I get two of each virtual channel - one without the red X and one with the red X.
I get no error messages.
I read the knowledge base article "What Is Remote Device Access (RDA)?" Which says the following:
Configuration is simple. On the computer with the DAQ device, run the RDA server. On the computer with LabVIEW, run the RDA Configuration Utility to assign device numbers to the remote DAQ devices. In LabVIEW, you do not need to change your DAQ applications at all; just use the device numbers that correspond to the remote systems.
I didn't set up this way. I did the configuration using MAX on the computer with the DAQ. Then I discovered the ability to use RDA, so I ran RDA on the DAQ PC and went to the remote computer to run MAX. The first time I added the DAQ device everything looked good. I saved the configuration file on the remote computer. After that I started losing the device and getting the broken channels when the remote computer was shut down. I concluded from that that I was having a conflict between configurations and that maybe that was the cause of the channels with the red X's, so I stopped using the configuration file on the remote computer. I couldn't find a way to "undo" the configuration I had already created on the DAQ PC.
Does this raise any red flags?

when working in Lightroom library when suddenly 'file not found' means thatthe external HD I was working with has dropped off my desktop. It is connected via  an USB (2) hub - I thought these iMacs were supposed to be backwards compatible - worked witout glitch on my G5 desktop
(before you suggest I have no spare USB ports to connect directly as wacom misbehaves too if not connected directly, plus keyboard plus USB2 hub for many other devices (speakers, printers, etc)

  • Why, even if I disable my itunes purchases list when I sync my iPhone, that playlist keep appearing in my device?

I have tried again and again but I cannot get those albums I've sold out of my iPhone. I don`t want to remove them. The main problem is that I usually play randomly and I'm tired of listening to the same music. I would like them not to sync if I don't want to... Any ideas?

If your iPhone was configured with an iPhone configuration utility, etc, you may have accidentally set parental controls. Check for both a profile (Settings > General > Profiles) or Parental Controls through iTunes.
Both can be set to block downloads or access to apps that will remove the iTunes app from your device.

  • Keep losing DVD-rom

    Hi
I keep losing my DVD device from the device manager. I can get it back by rebooting, but then within minutes it defaults and the device manager says "windows cannot load the device driver because a previous instance of the driver is still in memory-CODE 38
If I disable/enable the DVD then the device runs okay.
Sometimes it defaults with CODE 18 or 19 as the reason. It is a new clean install of Windows 8 PRO
My machine is the T410 with Mat**bleep**a UJ8A2 SATA DVD.
I tried recently to update the firmware with the Lenovo utility but it kept returning with software is preventing the update.
In desperation I reloaded a Windows 7 image, and, the software uploaded first time and the DVD worked faultlessly,
From what I can ascertain it is probably a configuration problem within the registry but I have a PC with the selfsame programmes loaded, but a different DVD, and it works perfectly.
I am thinking of running MAX registry cleaner or ErrorEND to clean the registry but am doubtful of any success.
Can any one suggest an answer.
    Regards
    Frank

Forgot to say I am running Windows 8 PRO.

Recently I upgraded Lion to 10.7.3. Since that time I have been having a lot of trouble with my internet connection. I keep losing the connect and have to go to diagnostics and turn it back on. Is anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks, Pat

I'm afraid there are numerous threads on here discussing this problem. I posted in this one earlier that has a couple of suggestions, but the real solution will hopefully be provided in an update from Apple:

  • I have an iPad 2 connected to airport express so that I can play and change music whilst I am teaching ballet class. Recently, I keep losing connection and the airport express gets quite hot. I have alway used Archos but changed to Apple for reliability!

I have an ipad 2 with airport express that I use to play and change music whilst teaching ballet class. Recently, I keep losing connection and the airport express appears to be getting quite hot. I did use Archos but changed to Apple for reliabilty! Can anyone help or should I just buy a new airport express.

I agree that it's probably interference. Only other possibility, since you mentioned it, it overheating. Is the express situated so that it is well ventilated? That is to say, not buried under other equipment and laying on its side? What does the status light do when you lose connection?

  • HT4993 i keep losing my contacts is that a problem with iphones

i keep losing all my contacts in my iphone

It's definitely unusual for your phone to do this. The ring should be about the same on their end, as well as yours. Please try powering off your iPhone, and removing/reinserting the SIM card, and retest the calling. http://vz.to/OeILJo

hello! i just got the macbook few days ago. is it normal that it gets warm? kind in mind that its only about 2 days old.

it will get warm depending on the demand you put on it.  Safe operating temps are 40 to 90 c.  Download iStat Pro (free) to monitor temps: http://www.islayer.com/apps/

  • External drive conntected to Time Capsule keeps losing connection

I've been having this problem since I bought my TC over one year ago. Other than this everything works fine (aside from the occasional need for a restart).
I have an external 500GB drive attached to my 500GB TC via usb. I use the TC strictly for backups and the other drive to host my media files. When I want to use those files I switch on the drive. Only about half of the time does that work. When it does work everything is fine. I see the drive in the finder as expected.
When it doesn't work, I can see the drive name in the finder. But if I click to go into the folder, I get an error saying that the connection cannot be found.
It shows up in the Airport Utility as normal.
Powering the drive off and on does not help.
Relaunching the finder doesn't help either.
The only way I can connect to the drive again is to either logoff and log back into my mac, or restart the TC.
It seems that my computer is remembering some kind of network disk mounting settings that don't get refreshed when I turn on the drive, but then do get refreshed when I logoff and back in. Does anyone know how I could force that refresh to happen? Has anyone had this problem before?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated
PS all my software and firmware are the latest.
    Thanks.

  • Mac Mini keeps losing iTunes authorization

I have a Mac Mini that keeps losing its authorization to play new iTunes content. Each time I try to use it, I have to deauthorize it and then reauthorize it to play the content
My iTunes content is stored and shared from another PC. So when I fire up the Mac Mini, I select my shared library. Then when I try to play new content, that's when it tells me the computer is not authorized to play the content. After deauthorizing it and then reauthorizing it, the new content will play.
This problem only occurs with new content that has been downloaded since the last time I used the Mac Mini. Existing content plays just fine.
Does anyone know what the problem might be?
    Thanks!

This normally happens when your neighbor and you are using the same WiFi channel. Try changing the default channel in System Preferences -> Network.

  • Why does my mouse keep losing connectivity

My magic Mouse (came with the system) keeps losing connectivity.  It seems that whenever the mouse has a period of inactivity such as when I am using the key board, it loses connectivity and I have to double tap it (two fingers) to get it to reconnect.  Battery is >80%.  Is this normal or is there a setting that can insure it stays connected?  I appreciate any advice even if it is I have to put up with this annoyance.  Thanks.

Thanks for the response.  My WFi is a Linksys E2000.  Because of the number of messages in the Console I will have to wait until the next time I lose connectivity and then check for messages in Console to see if there are any clues to what is going on.

  • Keep losing signal & poor speed

    Hi
Over the last few days I keep losing my internet connection, I've run several speed tests today connected directly to the router with an ethernet cable & master socket and I'm still struggling to get more than 0.5Mb - usually we average 1.5Mb (Warmwell exchange)
I've tried replacing the router for a brand new netgear as the BT homehub kept losing the signal even at our old address but it's made no difference and over the last 48 hours it's become unbearable.
I've done the test using speedster.btcom, that also shows 0.5Mb.
There are no listed service issues in my area so what's going on?
    Cheers,
    Andy.

    Hi Welcome to the forums
Here are some help pages done by CL Keith http://forumhelp.dyndns.org/speed/Speed.html
also post your full hub stats by entering 192.168.1.254 into your web browser address bar and navigate to adsl or use a-z, if netgear enter 192.168.0.1
Can you also post the full results from BT Speedtest speedtester.bt.com
Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
