Is it ok replacing Flemish keyboard with an English one?

They CTRL key and the SHIFT key on my Mac Pro are broken and need to replace. I bought this Mac in Belgium and it has Flemish keyboard. Now I am in Vietnam and they dont have Flemish keyboard to replace. Is it OK to replece a Felmish keyboard with an English one? Thanks a million. Giang

Sure - if you can find a shop that will do it for you. If you want to DIY, you may be able to order a keyboard replacement from ifixit.com or powerbookmedic.com.

Reviewing the keyboards on page 64 of this guide, I don't see a backlit keyboard listed. It is very likely this particular unit doesn't support backlighted keyboards since none are listed.

Replace W540 Keyboard with W541 Trackpoint Buttons

Could someone from Lenovo let the forum know if it will be possible to replace the W540 Trackpad / Bezel / Keyboard assembly with the new one from the W541 which has integrated physical Trackpoint buttons. This would make a very big difference to me and I suspect a lot of other W540 owners who use the Trackpoint. I am the current owner of 5 Thinkpads and have been a loyal customer since the 600 series. The increased pressure necessary to generate a less reliable click on the Trackpad has greatly exacerbated a problem with the top joint of my right thumb - I have had to retrain myself to use my left thumb to do all clcking. The problem was nowhere near as bad on the old Trackpoint buttons - where I could use them with my right thumb for several hours with no symptoms, I can now manage only minutes.

i too am EXTREMELY frustrated with the trackpoint. I also agree as to WHY the USB 2.0 instead of four (4) USB 3.0s. I have been a trackpoint fan since the late 80s which triggered my purchase of an IBM T21 still working having a Windows 98se operatring system. My next was a T42p having a Windows XP Pro ServPk 3. My third is a W500 for which I purchased a Microsoft Windows 7 Pro Operating System. My fourth is an x220 having a 500 GB solid state Hard Drive (upgrade from the 160 GB SSD as supplied). The fifth is the W540. It has high end upgrades of all components including a 1 Terabyte SSD I purchased and installed myself. I installed the 500 GB it came with in my W500. I read about the trackpoint problems with the W540 before purchasing but had no idea how SERIOUS the problem is until I purchased one! This Lenovo forum is LOADED with complaints and appropriate requests by dedicated Lenovo users to replace the Keyboard with a USABLE trackpoint. I am not surprised! I am a Professional Engineer having had my own consulting business for 15 years. I took a course in customer service during which I was informed of the results of NOT FIXING A PROBLEM FOR A CUSTOMER. It has a probable devastatilng affect on future sales, etc. Personnally I have always found your customer service acceptable...better with some techs than others probably depending on experience. It is extremely important you fix the problem with the trrackpoint ASAP AT NO COST TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. I haven't had the W540 very long but it's only fair to be upfront that it will be my last if IBM-Lenovo fails to fulfill a MAJOR NEED of it's otherwise dedicated customers. All else failing issue a recall and credit the owner toward a properly engineered replacement. My big questions for IBM-LENOVO are WHAT WERE YOU THINKING and WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE? Lastly I also concur with the USB Port error (WHY USB 2.0 since 3.0 ports are backward compatible). A minor problem for me personnaly is the inclusion of the number pad. It throws the trackpoint and the keyboard as typed on off center. However both of those are minor in comparison the nearly 'useless' trackipoint.

You can only obtain warranty OR post warranty service in the country of original purchase
As your iPhone has user damage it has no warranty
IF the iPhone originated from Spain or another EU country you can get out of warranty service in any EU country

If the screen is scratched, just take the computer back to an Apple Store or reseller to get your screen replaced for free. Macs have got a 90-day warranty after repairs, so if you have any problem, you will have the MacBook repaired for free

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. Photoshop CC 2014 has 32 and 64 bit versions. If your Windows is 64 bit, you can download that one.
In order to download, you must first follow the instructions they give you very carefully in order to set the proper permissions.
It might be wise to uninstall CC 2014 if only to make sure. Check "remove preferences" as well.

In answer to your request, I am attaching the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Within you can find the procedure for replacing the keyboard correctly, as well as as the part numbers for the supported, compatible keyboards. Check on page 59 of the manual for the list of replacement keyboards, and the replacement procedure.
Unfortunately, from the list, it does not appear that any of the options are backlit.

It is not possible to do a direct hardware replacement. The bezel is different and the scan codes for the keyboard (which are supported by the BIOS) are different on the keyboards.

Replace HP-DV6t keyboard with a backlit one ( like the HDX-16t's one)

I had my core i7 hp dv6t for a couple weeks and I love every bit of it except for the keyboard ! I really like the backlit keyboard from HDX-16t and i think it fits my laptop ! Can someone help me with this ? And if it works, where can I buy that backlit keyboard ?

Replacing Nonbacklit Keyboard with Backlit Keyboard

I am considering replacing a nonbacklit keyboard with a backlit keyboard on a T530. The hardware maintenance manual does not seem to show any difference between replacing nonbacklit or backlit keyboards. The size and dimensions of each keyboard should be the same but I am concerned about possibly different connectors. Has anybody tried it?

I did the upgrade on a T430 and it was plug and play, not difference in connectors.

The problem is to understand your question (or your two questions : do you both mean the same thing ?)
An answer to Hatstead question would help.
1 - Do you really mean using another software to organize your workflow ?
2 - Do you mean using other softwares based on folders rather than databases ?
3 - Or do you mean working with different catalogs ?
If you don't want to use the Organizer, it's not possible to 'delete' it, but it is simple not to use it.
Most other organizing solutions include the choice of selecting PSE editor as the external editor
There are various solutions depending on your platform : Windows, Mac, Linux...
It's important to know if you prefer the folders or database organization to suggest possible solutions.

Gt70 - replacing ssd drives with bigger, faster ones

I have a new GT70, with a pair of SSD drives in it. Sitting in a box at home, I have a pair of kingston 250gb SSD drives.
I'd like to replace the two 64GB ones with the bigger ones.
Does burnrecovery do a file backup? Or does it image the drives? I need to find a backup/restore utility that will let me replace these drives and restore in such a way that I can see and make use of all of the new space. I'm pretty sure an image based utility won't let me do that.
Any thoughts? If anyone has already done this and is willing to share their experience I'd greatly appreciate it.
BTW this laptop is a BEAST! Love it! I can run Skyrim with gfx all the way up and get a rock solid 60fps. Pretty sure if I could figure out how to turn off vsync I could get better than that even.

Well.....let me make a few recommendations.....
First off, don't set it up for maximum file space. Why? Your performance will suck incredibly if you ever get it more than 75% filled. This has been proven especially on Anandtech's website. Their latest review of the Crucial M500 uses a new method of benchmarking showing how if you actually leave about 20 to 25% of the drive un-partitioned, the performance decrease is MUCH less than normal.
So, that being said, I would use whatever software MSI had included (Burn Recovery comes to mind) and make a backup. This is what I first did when I got my GT70.
Then, also go ahead and save any other data you would want saved from your SSD's (My Documents, Favorites, save games, etc...).
I would then replace the SSD's.
Use the Intel Raid ROM to setup the SSD's in a Raid 0 configuration.
Boot using the recovery software you created up above. Install Windows, etc....
That's essentially what I did with my GT70, except mine only came with a single 128 GB SSD. I replaced it with 2x240 GB Mushkin drives. I only formatted the drives for 390 GB, instead of the full 460GB or so because I don't want performance to suffer as time goes on.
Currently, it's running like a champ, and hasn't really changed performance wise since I installed them.
