Is it possible to change memory size while runtime?

Hi!
Is it possible to set the Xmx value while runtime?
I try to do something like this java Myclass -Xmx128mBut only in a dynamically way while my application is running.
I'm developing an image-rendering - extension for an existing app and there's no chance to edit thejava XYZ statement.
I don't think that's possible, but If anyone has an idea....
Thanks!

Yes. Both RAM and the hard drive are easily accessible and replaceable. The warranty is not voided because both are considered DIY. However, if you damage the computer in the process then your warranty will not cover that damage. But it is not voided.

    Is it possible to change the size of the icons in Launchpad? Mine seem very large.

    Thanks for the reply UKoC. You are close on the size. I would say they are about an inch to an inch and a half in width and only seven across the row. They just seem quite large on my display and I figured there would be an easy way. I kept thinking I just had to be missing the way for adjusting them since everything else seems to be so easy to personalize. Funny thing is that I have watched an online tutorial twice now on Apple's web site showing Launchpad and the icons shown there are smaller and more of them. I just thought I was missing the fix somehow. Thanks for confirming this.

    I want to increase the JVM memory size at runtime.
    I found out that I can do this with oracle.aurora.vm.OracleRuntime.setMaxMemorySize(...)
    Which JAR do I have to put on the classpath to be able to acces OracleRuntime???
    What would be the proper implementation to incerase the memory size?

  • Is it possible to change Application Module at runtime?

    Hi all!
    I'm trying to change Application Module for my page at runtime. I've used such code:
      public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
        super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
        OAWebBeanContainer webBeanContainer = (OAWebBeanContainer) webBean;
        webBeanContainer.setApplicationModuleDefinitionName("mypackage.MyAM");
        webBeanContainer.setApplicationModuleUsageName("MyAM");
      }but I see that Application Module haven't been changed.
      public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
        super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
       System.out.println(pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean).getFullName());
       System.out.println(pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean).getDefFullName());   Is it possible to change Application Module at runtime?
    How can I do it properly?
    Pavel

    The AppModule for a page is configured in an attribute of the root element of that page. Maybe that attribute is available at the OAWebBean parameter in processRequest.

  • Is it possible to change the size of the 'Close' button in Full Screen viewing mode?

    I am currently using Firefox for a kiosk type scenario. We require that the browser run full screen. The issue is that the 'Close' button is not large enough for users to consistently see, so they're having issues figuring out how to close an active browser window.
    Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change this icon? I've tried using themes, but they tend to theme everything but the close button.
    Custom configuration details are below.
    Firefox version: firefox-3.0.4-1.el5.centos
    Customisations:
    Access to local drives disabled:
    Modified the contents of /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.4/chrome/browser.jar, so that browser.js has the added stanza:
    <pre><nowiki>if (location.match(/^file:/) ||
    location.match(/^\//) ||
    location.match(/^resource:/) ||
    (!location.match(/^about:blank/) &&
    location.match(/^about:/))) {
    loadURI("about:blank");
    }</nowiki></pre>
    Various menus & bookmarks disabled in chrome/userChrome.css
    <pre><nowiki>/* Kill "normal" bookmark icons in the bookmarks menu */

  • Changing brush size while erasing with adjustment brush.

    I have search around and have been unable to locate the short cut keys to increase and decrease the brush size while erasing. I use the bracket keys to change the brush size for the brush itself, but when I press the alt key to switch to the eraser, I can't figure out any short cut keys for changing the size of the eraser. It works to go over to the panel, but that is a pain. There must be a short cut for this. Thanks, Eric

    That's what I was afraid of. Hopefully in the next version. Thanks, Eric

  • Is it possible to change the size of a partitioned hard drive?

    I use an iBook G4 (PowerPC) and partitioned an external hard drive. Is it possible to adjust the size of the partition without losing the contents of the external drive? If so, how?
    Thanks!

    Hi The Zach;
    Please read the requirements of these applications for resizing partitions very carefully! Most of them suggest that you back up prior to using them.
    After reading all of these warning rather then using any of these applications what I simply do is the backup first then change the partitioning with Disk Utilities and restore. I find this method to be quick and inexpensive.

  • Is it possible to config memory size for a process?

    Dear experts,
    I would like to control the memory size assigned for a process on Solaris 9. Can i config memory size assigned for process??
    Many thanks,
    Shun

    You can use ulimit/limit to assign a bound on the amount of space that a process and its children can allocate.
    I'm not sure if that's what you're asking though.

  • Possible to change icon size?

    Hi everybody. This is a long shot. Anyone know if its possible to increase the size of the icons in the bins? I know you can choose between small, medium and large icons. What I'm asking is if you can make the 'big' icons bigger -- big enough so that when selecting a photo you don't have to squint or load each one into the viewer.
    Thanks in advance for any advice.

    No, but you can zoom the screen by holding down the control key and using the mouse scroll up and down. That's not an FCP thing, it's a Mac thing.

  • Changing Stage size at runtime

    I have been poking around and not finding any info on this.
    What I want to do is change the height of the STAGE (not a
    MovieClip) based
    on which view I'm showing the customer at a particular time.
    For instance...
    I may have a thumbnail and a detail view for a product. I
    don't need a lot
    of screen real estate to show the thumbnail view, but I'd
    like to make the
    swf taller if the user switches to the detail view.
    I don't simply want to make the swf taller by default because
    I'll have a
    ton of unused whitespace in thumbnail view, which will look
    stupid.
    I shouldn't have a problem with the JavaScript to change the
    height
    properties in the HTML tags for the Flash object, but not
    really sure if/how
    to do the other part in Flash. Everything I've seen so far
    has been
    read-only properties.
    Thanks,
    Chris.

    did you change stage size?
    how can you do this without javascript?

  • Change Form Size during runtime

    Could someone tell me how to change the size of my VI form during runtime?
    I want the ability to click a button and have the height increase by 50 points or so, then go back to the original value after I click the button again.
    Thanks for the help!
    Angus Cattle from Pool Ranch and Steel Repairs via Joe's Welding.

    Ok, that got me on the right track.
    For some reason, though, my VI still does not change whenever I click the button.
    I have attached my VI, saved in 8.2 format.
    Does anyone see why my form doesn't grow by "98" whenever I click the "More >>" button?

  • Is it possible to change the size of the Picture in Address Book

    Hi, the contact pictures in the Address Book are way to small, is there the possibility to show them bigger??
    Thanks
    MacBook White 1,83 - 80GB HD - 2GB - EX-RSS   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    No, I don't think so. When you put a picture on the card you can control what part of the picture is used, but there is no control for the subsequent size.
    You could try using OS X Feedback and ask them to change it in the next release ...

  • Apple Mail automatically changing font size while typing

    I've been using Apple Mail for about a month now and only just recently did it start exhibiting this unusual behavior where the font type and size of the entire message would change to something different while I was typing! Pressing CTRL+Z a couple times would revert the font to its intended size only to have it change back again a few keystrokes later. I noticed that it only happens when I type a word that contains an apostrophe (it's, David's, we're, isn't, we'll, etc.) and words that get auto-corrected. Going to MAIL | PREFERENCES and changing my Message Font does nothing as the font changes to something not set in Preferences.
    Has anybody experienced this before? What did you do to fix it? Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
    Chris

    Thanks for the suggestion, Eric. Unfortunately, that didn't do the trick. This is happening on my iMac at home and, just for reassurance, I compared the mail settings side-by-side to my work MacBook (which does not have this issue) -- all settings are identical!
