Is it possible to directly read a barcode into Labview?

I have a barcode reader that reads codes into Notepad as expected, but I'm having no luck reading a code into Labview 8.6. Is it possible to read a code directly into Labview using a bar code reader. The reader I'm using is a Symbol DS6708. Thank you.

A bit off topic, and I believe it's been discussed int he Feedback board before.
But this marking of the wrong post seems to happen very often. Why do the users have a tendency to mark their thank you message as the solution rather than the actual helpful message? Is it a difficult concept? Something about the wording of solution or the layout of the messages that leads them to it?
I would go so far as to suggest that users are unable to mark their own messages as the solution. While it can be perfectly legitimate and there are instances where people solve their own problem, it seems to happen very rarely compared to how often people are wrongly marking their own message.

Reading controller data into LabVIEW through serial connections to controllers?

I'd like to read data from environmental chamber controllers (System Plus) into LabVIEW through RS232 connections. Has anyone done something similar?
I see interfacing with the serial controllers as the biggest obstacle and although not directly related to LabVIEW programming, I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice or resources on how best to do so now days.
My first thought is to write a program with VB or C++ to act as a terminal and write the data to a text file for LabVIEW to poll. Aside from using Telix decades ago to work with BBSes, my only other serial experience consists of interfacing with a Kiethly multimeter using a C++ program.
I would rather not use multiple PCs but I have never worked with more than one serial port on a computer before in the past. Perhaps LabVIEW itself already provides for multiple serial card communications (wouldn't that be perfect)?
Any info would be great.

I spoke with Envirotronics and they do not provide the driver for the System Plus controller any longer since there were issues with changing hardware and software. Their IT department may be able to put something together for me.
Using USB->RS232 connections would be nice given the abundant number of USB ports available on modern PCs.
Without a driver I see parsing the serial text as a challenge in LabVIEW. I know how to approach this with a traditional programming language but are there any examples around here of how this is done with LV (most recent version is fine)?

How is it possible to directly erase an email in mail (OS X 10.10)

In former versions, not yosemite, it was possible to directly erase emails with "alt" + "erase". Thus an email was not put into trash but erased at once. Now this does not work anymore. It was very useful for me. Is it somehow still possible?

In order to erase an email (or multiple emails) directly in Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) follow one of the methods in this help article -
Delete messages - Mail Help
Permanently erase deleted messages
Automatically erase messages: Choose Mail > Preferences, click Accounts, then select an account. Click Mailbox Behaviors, then in the Trash section choose when you want Mail to permanently erase deleted messages.
If you have an IMAP account whose server is set up to delete older messages, they are erased regardless of your settings.
Manually erase messages at any time: Choose Mailbox > Erase Deleted Items, then choose an account.

Is it possible to directly deploy SOA service .jar on the Oracle Java Cloud?

I tried to deploy the SOA composite SAR File(.jar) to JCS console but got following error:-
Starting action "Deploy Application"
Deploy Application started
Invalid archive provided: not a deployable EAR or WAR file.
Archive may be poorly formatted (missing expected APP-INF or WEB-INF folders).
Application deployment failed.
"Deploy Application" complete: status FAILED
Is it not possible to directly deploy .jar file?

While I have not tried it I do not think its possible. Deploying SOA composites have quite a bit prerequisites, which are not included in JCS. JCS list of unsupported features and APIs does not mention it. The error you see is likely related to the limitation of:
Unsupported Feature
Alternative
Direct JAR deployment.
Embed JAR in EAR.
However as mentioned I do not think you would be able to deploy SOA composites ..

SOAP - RFC possible with Direct Connection?

On our PI 7.1 system we have a RFC which we want to expose as a webservice with all the standard monitoring SAP PI provides. On PI 7.0 is used to create a configuration scenario in Integration Builder and generate a WSDL.
I have read the document 'Configuring Web Service Scenarios', but it is not clear to me if i can create a AS JAVA 7.1 -> AS ABAP 7.1 scenario and if the 'Direct Connection'-functionality of SAP PI 7.1 offers me a solution.
Please advise me...

in PI7.1 direct connection uses WS adapter which works on WS-RM protocol.............your req is to expose RFC as web-service which do not work on WS-RM protocol and moreover you will require RFC adapter for configuration of your scenario.... So SOAP->RFC is not possible with Direct connection in PI7.1.

Force direct read instead of memory

hi,
is it possible via a hint or something to force oracle not to put a sql's blocks to buffer cache and read from directly from disk every time ? it is for a test issue.

i'm not sure how the thread above was able to query PLPOD? i receive a direct read not possible message in SQ01. there are some major discrepancies in MRP because routing from CA03 is not consistent with MRP1 making plant settings. what other info sets or logical databases should i consider to find the base quantities (PLPOD-BMSCH)?
also, when faced with something that can not be directly read from SQ01, what route(s) can you take to research an area that can be read? SE11 ?

Is it possible to directly pull liquid tag from an available collection of items without looping

I'm wondering if it is possible to directly render a liquid tag from an available collection of items without first looping through those items.
So lets say I output a webapp module to a collection and I know I just want to get the first item's name from those item/s (perhaps the webapp is intended to only store one item for example).
Could I do something like:
{{webapp_1.items[0].name}}
Or a particular item number, say the 3rd item:
{{webapp_1.items[2].name}}

Ah ok I see now. I was using the object name (webapp_1) I saw in the {{this | json}} output BEFORE I made a collection for the webapp.
So why does this data look to be available in the json output before assigning a collection but it can't be accessed by liquid until a collection is made, and when a collection is made it changes the object name in the json from 'webapp_1' to 'myCollection' ... whereas the globals object is available but there is no collection for it as such???

Only if the form has been Reader Enabled before it is sent out to the user with Reader.
There are two ways of Reader Enabling the form. One using Acrobat Standard v9 or Acrobat Professional v8 (both have license restrictions). The other is to use LC Reader Extensions ES2, which is a server product (additional costs).

I need update Expected Value in Opportunity.
Expected Value is bound Opportunity.SalesForecast.ExpectedRevenueAmount.content.
When I try to update in adsl, "Changing not possible; field is read-only" error appears in frontend to the user.

Seems Opportunity has a lot of problems. As in my case i am trying to code in BeforeSave method that when ever the opportunity gets create by code i have to poppulate my CUSTOM Invonved Party ( i have created custom party role ).
And i have passed partykey.partyId.content and RoleCode but when i click on save it gives me the error about Role Category!
now when debugged that all Parties ( i debugged and checked whole collection) had the Role category every party from that collection had the Role category associated!
So i tried to add r
ole category by code! but that is also public write access set as FALSE!
So finally i again opened the book for clod , and a line is specificaly written that PartyID node will not be used after 1402 there will be separate node PartyNAme where u can pass partyid , name or email!
but unfortunately that is also not available in the opportunity BO!
So i am also kind of stuck!
Btw one thing i would like to mention is when u try to maintain your custom role in opportunity manually it works and data gets saved!

Can I use APEX directly read/sync with the Oracle Tables ?

We have a Oracle Database to manage the design data.I am trying to setup a web-based front end using APEX to manage & monitor the parts ordering & logisitics.I want to drive the master data directly from the database without any export or data transfer ? Can I directly read or Link an Oracle tables from APEX application.
Also,once this is setup,I am looking for setting up some data entry fields to enter Purchasing & Logistics information.Hope I can achieve this using APEX !

Glad that I can use the existing Oracle db schema with APEX.I am not sure if there is any information as how I can connect or link my production schema to the APEX ! I was able to import .csv files & use XL data to create some test databases & play with APEX..but,I did try to go thru most of the instructions & guides to find how to use the production oracle tables,but,could not find anything particular...Please send me a link or material info.
I suppose I can then use which ever attribute or table data that is required to build the queries ! I am planning to use the production data to build the ordering & logistics application using APEX.Assume I can create new fields & columns for parts that will be ordered & capture/record the purchasing information like Purchase order numbers/Supplier Info/Target Delivery dates etc...
- Am on very tight schedules to get this application up & running ! Is there any support team or a technical support team that I can call upon if I need any help ?

Mainly, Direct Read refers to accesses in which a maximum of one line is returned by the database, otherwise Sequential Read refers to all other read database accesses, in which there may be more than one line returned.
In case of Sequential Read, when you perform a trace on these queries you will see that index is used in most cases. However Direct Read have better performance than Sequential.

Sequential read vs direct read master data in Query

I use class cl_rsr_request to get data from a query in ABAP.
When I look at SM50 when executing my code, I see the following
Report action table
"CL_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA======CP" "Sequential read" "/BIC/SZINSTALL"
Why is this a sequential read?
I would expect a direct read, sequential read are much slower ....
Other tables have a direct read, example /BIC/PZADDR_NUM.
P-tables are masterdata tables and S-tables are SID tables, is this correct?

Hi,
a sequential read may be necessary due to wrong or not exisitng indexes on the SID table. In RSRV you can check your characteristic or in SE11 goto indexes. There you can see which indexes are active and generated. DOes ZINSTALL have attributes and you may want to read not all fo ZINSTALL but only where certain attributes are filled. For this you may need a special index.
You rifht P table are master data tables with all attributes of your characterisitc, S-tables are the sid tabels.

Before installation you should back up all your data.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
