Is it possible to extract data with jdbc from msword???

I need to extract data from word.
Is it possible and can I do that (if you've got code it would be nice)

I am not sure whether it is possible but if ever, it must be with a Microsoft COM object. i.e. you have to write a COM-Wrapper java class to access the content of a word file.
The best way i can consider is to use the OLD Visual J++, which was deprecated after .NET and C# were introduced.
It may still function, if your project is nothing commercial.

Possible to extract data from DB

Hello All,
Can any one let me know is it possible to extract data from DB ? for the initial we need to extract all the records and we need to extract from 5 tables and perform match and merge and create a unique records..Is it possible?
Once done then for delta we need to make sure all the 5 tables are updated then only BODS need to extract and update the deltas...

Yes ,u can use DB connect to retrive the data from SQL data base...
Also, If you want DB -connect with MS-SQL, In the source MS-SQL all the tables which provide data for SAP have to be owned by SAP-User (which you created to connect data base).
Follow the same procedure u have done for Oracle DB connect..

Open Hub: How-to doc "How to Extract data with Open Hub to a Logical File"

Hi all,
We are using open hub to download transaction files from infocubes to application server, and would like to have filename which is dynamic based period and year, i.e. period and year of the transaction data to be downloaded.
I understand we could use logical file for this purpose. However we are not sure how to have the period and year to be dynamically derived in filename.
I have read in sdn a number of posted messages on a similar topic and many have suggested a 'How-to' paper titled "How to Extract data with Open Hub to a Logical Filename". However i could not seem to be able to get document from the link given.
Just wonder if anyone has the correct or latest link to the document, or would appreciate if you could share the document with all in sdn if you have a copy.

After creating open hub press F1 in Application server file name text box from the help window there u Click on Maintain 'Client independent file names and file paths' then u will be taken to the Implementation guide screen > click on Cross client maintanance of file name > create a logical file path by clicking on new entiries > after creating logical file path now go to Logical file name definition there give your Logical file , name , physical file (ur file name followed by month or year what ever is applicable (press f1 for more info)) , data format (ASC) , application area (BW) and logical path (choose from F4 selection which u have created first), now goto Assignment of physical path to logical path > give syntax group >physical path is the path u gave at logical file name definition.
however we have created a logical path file name to identify the file by sys date but ur requirement seems to be of dynamic date of tranaction data...may u can achieve this by creating a variable. U can see the help from F1 that would be of much help to u. All the above steps i have explained will help u create a dynamic logical file.

Got an error when extracting data with extractor 2lis_04_matnr.
System says (short dump):

Error when attempting to import object "MC04P_0MAT_TAB".
The current ABAP program "SAPLMCEX" had to be terminated because one of the statements could not be executed. This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program. When attempting to import data, it was discovered that the data type of the stored data was not the same as that specified in the program.
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_IMPORT_MISMATCH_ERROR', was neither caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure "MCEX_BW_LO_API" "(FUNCTION)".
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is: When importing the object "MC04P_0MAT_TAB", the component no. 5 in the dataset has a different type from the corresponding component of the target object in the program "SAPLMCEX". The data type is "D" in the dataset, but "C" in the program.

So you need to delete entries in SM13/LBWQ for application and also detup table content.
And then refill teh set up table.
If you are in production clear the entries by running collective run no of times for this application 04.

There is no direct method i am aware of, but you can definitely create custom extractors on base tables.

How-to extract data in chunks from one R3 to another R3 system

Does anybody know how to extract data in chunks from one system to another? Imagine you would like to extract 1M records in chunks of 10K records, how would you do it between 2 different R3 systems? A cursor (even with hold) doesn't work

or fm GET_TABLE_RFC (get all items)

Extended Analytics - Is it possible to extract data from HFM to MS Access through an UDL (OBDC) file?

I am trying to extract data from HFM, using Extended Analytics, to MS Access through an UDL (OBDC) file but it displays the following error:
"error occurred while connecting to the database"
I've followed these steps:
1. Create a blank MS Access database (.mdb format)
2. Create an .UDL file which connects to MS Access database:
      - Provider: Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider
      - Connection: Linked to the .mdb database created in step 1.
      - Give "ReadWrite" permissions.
3. Test .UDL file connection successfully.
4. Create DNS with Extended Analytics DNS Configuration tool.
5. In Extended Analytics (HFM), once selected the new DNS and extract it displays the error commented before.
¿Do you know how i can solve this issue?

Extracting data with zero values for periods without data

Hello Together,
i extracted data from our hfm application from period 1 to 3.
Now i found that some rows begin with period 2 or 3 because there are no data in period 1 or 2.
So my question is, how i can get zero values for periods with no data.
Hope someone can help me.

For the periods with no data, HFM does not have a "0" to offer for the data extraction. Since the default data extract from HFM has each period on it's own row in the *.dat file, I don't understand your comment about rows starting with period 2 or 3. In the *.dat file the row for period 1 simply won't exist. Are you using a custom approach/tool for data extraction?
The only time HFM will offer a "0" where there is indeed no data, is if you extract derived data. You must include calculated data, and even then I believe HFM will only extract a "0" for the first period after a period where there was data, and only for flow accounts (Revenue/Expense). so if you have "100" in period 1, and no data in period 2, such that the derived value YTD for period 2 is "0", then you must include calculated values in the extract and you should see "0" for period 2. However, I don't believe HFM will extract "0" for period 3 - instead it will be blank/missing.
In general it could be very dangerous to force HFM to give zeros where there is no data.

Is it possible to extract data from a Safari cookie?

I need to recover a FedEx tracking number that I entered in Safari, and I'm hoping that perchance it was stored somehow in a cookie when I entered the number. It appears that I have a few cookies from FedEx in the list of cookie files on my computer, but I have no idea how to extract anything potentially useful from these files.
After looking up the package on FedEx.com once, I lost the tracking number. I was shipping most of my clothes and some important books from California to Italy (where I'm working for the summer). Now the package hasn't arrived, and nobody at FedEx in either country will lift a finger without the tracking number. This attempt to recover it from Safari is the absolute last thing I can think of to get the magic number back.

Hi Adrian
For Safari, cookie information is stored in your User Library>Cookies folder. The file is cookies.plist. You can open this file with TextEdit. First open Text Edit in your Applications folder. Then file menu>open and navigate to the file.
When open, Apple Key + F key to open the "find" feature. Type in FedEx, select find by clicking on the button rather than pressing return so the find panel does not disappear. Continue to select "find" until you've gone through the entire search. Don't know if a specific cookie (there will be several for FedEx) contains the tracking number, however, I guess you'll soon find out.

3FI_SL_C1_TT - Procedure of extracting data with delta

Dear experts,
I try to load FI-SL data with delta.
We use extractor 3FI_SL_C1_TT and have implemented the start routine from note 577644 to create 0balance within the transformation.
Delta is only available for actuals so we select data only for valuetype 10 as recommended.
I read that I have to do a full update of the closed periods.
To load the carryforward from 2014 I have to select 000.2015 and load it with a full load.
Till now every thing is clear.
But what are the next steps?
What do I have to select within the infopackage for the init load of the open periods (current year)?
After executing the init load: how do I have to define the delta load?

we use cube for each year.
So when the periods of the previous year (2014) is not closed, too, I have to work with them
the same as with cube for current year and do at first an init for the whole year and after that a Delta for whole year.
For current year cube I try do init/Delta with 001.2015 - 016.9999. But what do I do with the carryforward -
I can´t do only once a full, case with every new data record for 2014 it will Change.
What is the best practise with carryforward in this case?
