Is it possible to import a Fixed Text file that does not have a header?

I'm trying to import a Fixed Text file through Import Manager, but the text file I am receiving does not have a header on it (the first row is valid data). When I try importing this, Import Manager uses the first row of data as the headings. Is there any way to turn this off and tell Import Manager there is no header data in the file?

Hi Ryan ,ur requirement can be met only when u import the file as ODBC .for this follow the below steps.
1)Go to control panel,in ur settings,select administrative tools
2) In that select DATA SOURCE(ODBC ).
3)Go to SYSTEM DSN tab select tab .
4)Select ur file type MICROSOFT TEST DRIVER (.txt,.csv)
5)Double click on "Import DSN" and in the blank give the name of DATA SOURCE NAME any name u want to give.
6)Uncheck the use current directory box and select the directory ur file is it will automatically show ur source file select it and click ok.
7) Now when u import ur file as ODBC give the name of ur DATA source name which u have given and it will show ur file in the source preview itself .
In this way u can import ur file as ODBC.

I'm not clear on exactly what it is you're asking, but if you're referring to changing opacity, you can change the opacity setting for the States of a menu item via the States panel and Control Strip.

New Text File Action Does Not Output Correctly (Corrupts)

I posted this in here by accident. I reposted it in the 10.5 Automator forum...
I have a simple automator script that uses "Get Specified Text" that contains some arbitrary shell script text, and I pass that to "New Text File" which has the location selected from a variable called "Temporary path" of value "/tmp". The output of 'New Text File" will not contain the text I specified. Here are steps to recreate:
New automator script
Get specified text action with the following text:

New variable called "Temporary path" with the value "/tmp"
New text file action
--- Save as: test.txt
--- Where: "Temporary path" (drag Temporary path to the drop down box)

I run the script. New text file result shows "/private/tmp/test.txt". Then from the "Terminal" I try to view it ("cat /tmp/test.txt") and the contents are:

So the specified text was corrupted. If I create the new file in Desktop or Documents (tried those) it works correctly. What is so special about /tmp? Is there a reason why this shouldn't work?

Alas, my example does work... In hopes of narrowing the problem I tried to narrow the text.
Anyway below is the full "script" that I'm trying to write to the file that does not work, although if you copy it from here directly, it does work. So to reproduce, I can copy it from here to TextWrangler (that will fix the extra blank lines) then from TextWranger to Automator and the issues remains. The result of "Get specified text" looks correct, but the output still is not.

TS1347 Since the most recent download from Apple my calendar will not accept a new entry. I turned the phone off, back on, and it would then accept a new entry. Then would stop again. Attempted the on-off fix and now that does not work.

Since update of iOS7.0.2 my calendar has been problematic by not accepting new data (appointments) intermitingly. The first time I turned off the phone and restarted which then accepted the new data for an event. Worked fine a few days the would not again accept new data. The on/off fix does not now work. Went online with Apple support, went through an online dianogistic which after the calendar function worked. Today it again will not take new data. One good thing is once the data is visible in Calendar it stays.

Possible Bug? autotype + wsdl2service generates implementation that does not conform to the WSDL

I've got some hand crafted, valid, WS-I compliant WSDL + imported XSD that I've
been using for awhile now to generate an Apache Axis 1.2 beta Document Literal
Web Service implementation. I'm now trying to use the same WSDL to generate a
BEA WL 8.1 SP2 Document Literal Web Service implementation and I'm running into
problems.
I've attached the WSDL, XSD, and build script that I'm using to generate the implementation.
It deploys fine, but notice that the autogenerated WSDL that is returned from
the deployed BEA Web Service contains two <xs:schema> sections: one for the imported
WSDL (as expected) and one for several new elements that seem to get substituted
for the elements used in the orignal WSDL message parts.
The results of this are two fold:
1) the autogenerated WSDL appears to be invalid when loaded into both XMLSpy and
SOAPscope
2) the SOAP requests to invoke the operations on the service do not conform to
the hand crafted original WSDL. I've attached examples of both a BEA generated
SOAP request and an EXPECTED SOAP request.
I've poured over both the types.xml and the web-services.xml, and I'll be damned
if I can see the problem. I'm wondering if the way I import schemas and reference
elements declared therein is somehow not supported by BEA's ant tasks?
Any advice or pointers at all would be appreciated.

I don't know if you already now this but if you are using <autotype> to generate
the types.xml from the XML Schema then you should first
1) autotype the imported schema first.
2) Then for the actual achema (that uses the imported xsd) <autotype> but with
the
typeMappingFile="importedSchemas/types.xml"
option set to the types.xml output from 1)
The types.xml will then contain all types from both Schemas. You can then pass
this final types.xml from 2) to <source2wsdd> via
typesInfo="types.xml"

Hi Bala, you are right, the user must be able to give discounts to items that can be discounted. Most often the discounts will come from the BP price list and associated special and hierarchic pricing.
As Rakesh suggested, I shall run it by our client if they would want to limit discount ability across the board for their users through General authorizations and perhaps allow for only some users who could override manual discounts to certain limits. Again it pertain to the ability to override manual discounts on top of BP discounts through list for all items for some users only.

Is it possible to define a smart collection rule that does not interpret a space as an implied 'OR'?

For example, I want the rule to trigger when the target contains "brown hair".
It should trigger when the target is "blue eyes, brown hair and ruby lips..." but *not* trigger when the target is "blonde hair and brown eyes".

Everytime I try to send a message to a person that does not have an Apple product ( Iphone or Ipad ) it comes up saying contact is not registered for iMessage and wont send it. I can only send them a message from my iPhone 4 instead. Do I have to install a new App from the App store to send these non iMessage cell users a message?

Automator is Apple's simple way to do tasks like this, but Notes app doesn't have any actions for this so I assume you need to use Applescript to do this. Double check Automator - I am on 10.9 & maybe 10.10 added support for Notes in Automator? Enter 'Note' in the search field to see if Automator can make new Notes.

See the "Create New Stylized Note" script <- click script icon to download it, copy & paste seems to fail because of how the browser displays characters.
You would need to adapt that script to import from the text files.
I'm not sure you really want to do that anyway - Notes app has such poor support that putting serious data into it looks like a mistake - how difficult will it be to export data when Apple eventually abandon it? It seems like a toy app to me for new iPhone users, it;s unclear if it will ever be able to compete with other options. There are third party apps to export from Notes.app, but why rely on third parties? A notes app should allow you to import & export your data!

Diagnosis
You want to edit a text. However, the text ID (text type) of the specified text object does not exist.
Procedure
You can display a list of valid text IDs (text types) using F4=Possible entries. You can select the required text ID from this list with F2 or a double click.
The valid text objects are listed in table TTXOB. The valid text IDs (text types) for an object are specified in table TTXID.
I have searched the forums but couldn't get relevant message.
