In 11g OID, is it possible to lock user?
I found note for unlocking user but locking user there no documentation.

Just a simple question to you:
How did you unlock any user into OID. You just update value for one attribute in OID. Can't you change that value to lock value programatically ?

It may not be the best way, but maybe you could use the functionality behind transaction code SM01. Here you can lock/unlock the transaction code. If you look at the program, all it is really doing is updating table TSTC field CINFO. CINFO = 80 when unlocked, CINFO = A0 when locked. You could just update the field accordingly and then call this function module right after.
* For locking
CALL FUNCTION 'RSAU_WRITE_SM01_LOG'
EXPORTING
    TCODE = TSTC-TCODE
    LOCK = 'X'.
* For unlocking
CALL FUNCTION 'RSAU_WRITE_SM01_LOG'

Yes Basis Consultant will ristrict the authorization of creating certain Customer Groups as satish said.
So Provide the List of Customer grps to Basis Consultant and ask him to ristrict to all the users.

Is it possible to lock tracks on Premiere Elements 11? Overwriting clips?

From what I can see/have read it is not possible to lock tracks whilst editing on Premiere Elements 11 - is that right?
I am a new user and have been finding that as I'm moving clips around the timeline it seems very unpredictable as to whether the clip slots into place without affecting the position of everything else or whether it creates a cut in the soundtrack leaving an empty space, or whether it just shifts things up.
Essentially I want to know how to overwrite clips (ie. when I drag a clip in, everything else on the timeline stays in the same place)
I'm assuming that this means that there is a method to do all of these things but I appear to have done them all by accident and can't work out the method!

Holding down the Ctrl key (or the Cmd key on a Mac) as you add new clips to the timeline will keep everything on the timeline in place and override the ripple feature.

Is it possible to lock the BPS planning obj in QA or PRD system? We chnage the client setting in SCC4 with no change allowed. But, user can still change or create planning objects in the BPS0. Is any way to lock that?

You would have to develop specialized role / profile that controls the different planning objects: i.e. transactions, Planning area, planning level, planning functions, etc.
We had used a whitepaper or OSS notes in addition to looking at the profile/role for SEM_ALL to start locking down on things... Might post more when I find my notes.

Forwarding Cart to Locked User

We have several users that may be locked in SRM for various reasons. In most of them, the user ID is no longer valid if a name change occurred and a new ID is created.
However, the invalid ID is still in the system. While it is also locked, approvers are able to forward carts to the locked user. How do we prevent this from happening? Most of the time, the approvers will search by the name. Both the invalid ID and the current ID will have the same name (slightly modified) but there is no way to tell which SAP logon ID you are actually forwarding to.

the system checks, whether user is locked or not. If the user is locked this should NOT appear when listing the possible users to forward.
I know there is a note for this issue, may you can do a note search for this. If you dont find anything, open a message for this.

Possible to lock phone volume/ringtone?

Hello, is it possible to lock the ringtone and volume settings on a specific line on the 79XX series phones? As an example, I would like to add a line used for emergencies only to specific phones but lock the ringtone and volume on it so individual user's local phone settings would not override it.

A. Users are unable to change the ring volume if you disable the Settings       Access parameter on the Phone configuration page. Complete these steps:
From the Cisco CallManager Administration page, choose             Device > Phone, and click the phone for which you want to             prevent a ring volume change.
Choose Disabled for the Settings Access parameter             under the Product Specific Configuration section.
When Settings Access is enabled, you can change the phone network       configuration, ring type, and volume on the phone. When you disable Settings       Access, the Settings button is completely disabled and no options appear when       you press the button. Also, you cannot adjust the ringer volume or save any       volume settings. The option Restricted is available in Cisco CallManager       version 4.1(3) and later. When you change Settings Access to Restricted, you       can only access User Preferences and volume settings. By default, Settings       Access is enabled.

Locking users

Hi ,
I want to upgrade support package in my portal.
I don't want anyone to work on the portal while i'm upgrading the support package.
I want to know if it is possible to lock all users - and how do i do it.
I don't want to lock users one by one but lock everyone in 1 click.
i'm running enterprise portal 6.40.

If you want to upgrade the Portal System, I would suggest you stop the portal server and do an upgrade on it. Anyways, while upgrading the J2EE engine, it would stop the server and start it once again and secondly, when you don't expect any user to work on it meanwhile, why not shut down the server ?

How disable subscription notifications to locked users?

We have some potal users locked (dont want to delete them at the moment).
Subscriptions notifications are sent to those users as well (at least admin notifications).
Is there a way not to sent subscription notification to locked users?

You can do but the process can be possible through manually so go to
Detail section -> Setting->Subscription-->Here you can cancel the subscription part
so that you cannot send any mail to that particular user or if the person already in a group so exclude them from the group so they should no longer to get the subscription as the same thing my friend said on previous forum messgae.

2. Is locking the SYS user a standard practise ? If so, why ?
SYS and SYSTEM are default users, created with the creation of the database. Although they have much power - as they are granted the DBA role - they're still ordinary users. Because SYS owns the data dictionary, (s)he is considered a bit more special than SYSTEM. But SYS has the SYSDBA privilege which SYSTEM doesn't. This makes it possible for SYS to become a very very powerful user. This is the case when (s)he connects as sys/password as SYSDBA or / as sysdba. The as sysdba phrase is a request to aqcuire the privileges associated wht the single SYSDBA system privileges (see here).

you can set the profile value FAILED_LOGIN_ATTEMPETS to 3 to restrict that wrong password entry as folows
