Is it possible to retrieve user claims in an event receiver?

We have a custom list where we want to store the claims information of the user on the item adding event. Is this possible with an event receiver? Are there any examples? Thanks.

hi
at first get user login name or SPUser object for the user who added item, like shown here:
Accessing the Created By coloumn value in event receiver(item added) sharepoint 2010. After that you may try the following approaches for getting the claims:
- for login name:
Programmatically converting login name to claim and vice versa
- for SPUser:
SPClaimProviderManager.ConvertSPUserToClaim method

  • Is it possible to retrieve the broken motherboard and get a replacement.

    Hello everyone, I'm desperate for help now. I just had a look with this forum today and realised many people have been suffering the same sudden death issue of Z3C.I know the original post was too long so I edited it
    I experienced the same issue in last December, at first it was the motherboard issue so they got it replaced but when they tried to set it up the screen was broken, so I have no idea how long I have to wait. I just want to say It had been a joy and wonderful experience to use the phone so there were actually a lot of important information and memorable things kept in the phone which I would die for, I even tried to request that would it be possible to have the damaged motherboard back or could they at least try to restore the datas back to the phone. If anyone has done similar thing before and managed to complain through email please let me know the email I will be very appreciate!

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
    I bought this phone in the end of last September and this is speaking from a proud loyal user of Sony products and I have owned wide range of products like Bravia television, home theater system, and Playstations, they have been a great pleasure to me. Before the release of Z3 Compact, I was desperately looking for a small sized phone with capability of good performance until I saw the advertising of Z3 Compact, so I had finally found a phone that best suited my every needs. I'd been enjoying every single feature of the phone but it was only 2 months since I bought it then the phone died suddenly when I woke up the next morning and I had an important meeting that day. Due to the problem of course I could not make it in the end. I had done everything I could but the phone could not be turned on at all, so there was entirely no way for me to back up everything before I sent it to repair. I could say it was very unfortunate for me because I have many friends who are still using high-end Xperia phones like Z2 and they are still running fine even until this day.
    Finally I got a call few weeks ago so I thought I could finally get it after such a long wait. Instead I was told that it was the mainboard issue so a new one got replaced, but when they tried to set up the phone they noticed the screen was broken, so they had to deliver it again to the headquarter of repair centre in Kuala Lumpur. I have been waiting for nearly two months. Most importantly is that I have to study overseas next month so what should I do if the same problem happens again? Therefore I asked for a replacement and they said they would try for it and wait for approval from their manager but chances are very low.
    For quite sometime I have been looking for the email of customer support but so far I could only manage to get the contact number, seriously Sony? Maybe it was my mistake but I just couldn't find the email contact except for regions like US and Europe since those regions are far more popular compared to where I am, a country that probably no one has ever heard of-Malaysia. I know it's no luck to seek for support from Sony Malaysia, so I was actually trying to look for international office for Asia region, but so far I could only find Australia and Hong Kong, therefore I gave it a try but it appeared to be an error link that led to nowhere.
    Since I couldn't find the email at all I was given no choice but to call the customer support. I was really frustrated and unsatisfied with the solution they offered during the first call, saying that if the phone breaks again I can only bring it back from overseas to the repair centre in my home country just to get it fixed whenever I have the chance to go back.

Although I know I can't do anything with it but who knows maybe someday there is someone expert enough in IT can lend me a hand in such case. I know it's their policy to not return the damaged parts to customers but it's only my very little request even if they can't get me a replacement.
    Since Sony is such a giant corporation, hasn't there been any solution they can offer since most users of Z3C are experiencing the same issue? Instead of raging my disappointments through internet which could spread false information and negatively affect the reputation, I hope this is the best way to solve my problems and let everyone knows.
    I'm sorry if the post is too long but this is the best way to express my feeling. If anyone has similar experience or knows the email, please let me know and any help provided will be much appreciated.

    Sorry to hear that, but this forum is for us, users, and what you need is someone from Xperia Care to find your motherboard and send it back, I don't think it'll be possible to retrieve any data from a broken motherboard.

  • [SOLVED] is it possible to retrieve the data available in my sync account as i have forgotten some password which my browser is still remembering?

    as i sign up with new websites with new user name and passwords, firefox offers me whether to remember the passwords or not.
    i have selected 'remember password' for so many sites and got my data synchronized with firefox sync. i am having an account and a sync key.
    but the problem is that i have forgotten some of the passwords which are still remembered in fire fox.
    though i am not facing any problem opening those sites as my browser automatically completes the password for me, i am unable to change the password with a new one as i have forgotten the old!

  • Retrieve users who are not added to any group in site permissions page

    Hi,
    In the OOB (Site Permissions) "user.aspx" page, I have some users who are directly added to the site and not part of any OOB or custom group.
    Is it possible to retrieve only those users who are directly added to site permissions page programmatically  ( Using C# ) ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You can use the
    SPWeb.Users property which “Gets the collection of user objects that are explicitly assigned permissions in the website”.
    Thanks

    Is it possible to retrieve a registration key for a hard copy of iWork 06? Moved and cannot locate disc, and replaced the computer it was originally installed on. When I transferred the iWork from original Macbook Pro to new Macbook Pro, the reg key apparently didn't transfer. Any ideas?

    Do you still have access to the old MacBook Pro? If so, you can transfer the license by copying the com.apple.iwork.plist from Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences to the same location on the new Mac. Note that this IS the main HD Library, not your user library. I have found that these files are not moved during setup or migration.
    Are you really running Tiger 10.4.7? If so, you should update to 10.4.11. You can find the updater here. You also might consider buying the retail disk of iWork '09 from a third-party such as Amazon.com or eBay. It will add a lot of features for you. iWork '09 does require Tiger 10.4.11 at a minimum.

  • HT201317 Can anyone tell me if it's possible to retrieve photos from my iphone4 that has been taken more than 30 days ago on to my pc?

    Can anyone tell me if it's possible to retrieve photos from my iPhone 4 that I took more than 30 days ago on to my pc?

    I had issues in 10.4.7 as well as 10.4.8.
    My problems occurred at the beginning of 10.4.8, then many users brought light to me using WEP, which was not working that great. I changed my connections to WPA2 and my problem has disappeared. If my problem didn't resolve the way it did, I would have mentioned it the next time I visited an apple store.
    The bottom line is that assumptions, complaining, and self diagnostics don't get many people very far and bringing the problem to apple helps them know the incidence of this problem, and helps them develop a reliable solution.
    Though some users have reported the "cold shoulder" when reporting Airport problems to apple... I hope you weren't one of them.

    Chances are some files are still on the drive, just marked as deleted, but not actually overwritten by new content (unless you've synced AppleTv with the new machine thta is - don't if you haven't).
    While you could apply 3rd party hacks or dismantle the AppleTv to access the hard drive partitions, in ths instance it's not going to be enough as you would need to have some decent Mac data recovery software to scan the drive and look for deleted files.
    As Winston suggests this is not something for the casual user and if the photos are very valuable consider an expert data recovery service, but it won't be cheap, and there are no guarantees you'd get anything back.

  • Retrieving user detail, group name for all users

    Hi,
    How can I retrieve User name, email, authentication, user group name
    for all users using SDK.
    It is possible to create this report in webi or CR?
    Thank you for reply,
    Gregor

    Use the following code to retrieve this information:
    IInfoObjects users = oInfoStore.query("select * from ci_systemobjects where si_kind='user'");
    for (int i=0; i<users.size(); i++)
             IUser user = (IUser)users.get(i);
             // user.getTitle(); for user name
             // user.getFullName(); for user's full name
             //  user.getEmailAddress(); for user's email address
             //  for authentication type:
             IUserAliases alises = user.getAliases();
             for(int j=0; j<aliases.size();j++)
                       IUserAlias alias = alises.get(j);
                       // alias.getAuthentication() for authentication associated with this alias, since same user can have more than 1 authentication. e.g. Enterprise and Ldap.
             // for user group memberships:
             java.util.Set groups = user.getGroups();
             // the groups Set object will contain SI_ID of all the user groups that this uses is member of. You need to query by the SI_ID of the usergroup to get the group names.
    //  e.g.
    //    oInfoStore.query("select si_id, si_name from ci_systemobjects where si_kind='usergroup' and si_id in (a,b,c....)");
    where a,b,c are the SI_IDs of the usergroups.
    To create a report based on the above fetched data, there are several methods such as:
    you can use Java resultset where in you create the report structure in designer and push the data at runtime using java result set objects. Another way is to push this info in Excel or Access and design your report based on that excel\access.

  • Is it possible to trace users sql query disconnected from the session

    One of my users used to run the sql query daily, Now her machine rebooted and she lost all the sql query. is there any way to trap the sql what she used to run? I have the os/sql username....
    thx

    user587112 wrote:
    Yes we are using 10.2.0.3. main requirement of user is all the sql query she used to run.To get this query she is giving me her os user.And says why it is not possible?What would that be possible? If this database is reserved for her only that could be possible.
    Once she lost her session, there's no reliable method to trace all her SQL queries. The SID will be reused by Oracle, her SQL could be flushed out of shared pool, consider Oracle is designed to tackle with thousands of queries per seconds there's no feasible way to save all these information without impact on performance.
    So unless you had sql trace turned on her session or the database is reserved for her use only, then no it's not possible to retrieve all her SQLs and guarantee it. You might be able recover some of SQL from the mentioned DBA views but no guarantee what so ever.
    PS. it's no guarantee to get all her SQLs even her session is still active, unless SQL trace were turned on.

  • Is it possible for multiple users to use a "generic" account simultaneously without screen sharing?

    Hey and thanks for checking out the thread.
    I am wondering if it is possible to have users use a generic account at the same time without any sort of screen sharing.
    I have set up a generic user account (for example useraccount, password 1234) for users to use in the time before I can set up a custom user name for them. However, I have run into some issues with this.
    When multiple users log on using this generic account, their applications seem to be shared on each screen. In the room with multiple Mac workstations, if someone starts working on Photoshop, Photoshop will open on every one elses screen who is logged on under that generic account.
    Is it possible for users to log on using a generic network account and have their own isolated work environment or is this sort of sharing a feature? I am new to Mac servers and am not sure.
    Thanks for reading the thread.

    That shared-account approach seems impractical for the various reasons you've identified, as well as the inevitable issue of cleaning up the detritus that'll inevitably build up in a shared account, and for the lack of accountability for activities occuring under the shared account for both auditing and security, and sharing directories would tend to introduce obscure conflicts around which-file-version-wins file updates when the same file is used in several places, and would probably be contrary to any per-user application software licensing agreements that might be involved.
    Put another way, get unique accounts created for folks, and work toward the ability to create accounts for arriving folks, and — if it's applicable here — talk to management about getting any per-user software licensing issues sorted out, whether that's having spare copies purchased and ahead or some advanced notice on accounts, or establishing group software licensing where that's available.
    AFAIK, there are tools around which can automate account creation, too.  Either generic, a tool such as Passenger, or it's certainly feasible to script the account creation sequence.
    Trying this shared-access generic-account approach just looks like it can create more work and more hassles and more effort to me...

    For reasons best left unsaid, in a recent rebuild of my iMac and Time Capsule, I lost all my photos. I do however have them all currently on my iPad. Is it possible to retrieve my photos from the iPad back to iPhotos (now Photos) on my iMac?

    have the photos on the iPad been taken with the iPad camera or imported using the camera connection kit?
    Or have they been synced to the iPad with iTunes?
    You can download any photos to your mac by connecting the iPad by USB to to your Mac and import to Phots, but this way only photos from the Camera Roll will be imported.  If your photos have been synced with iTunes, you can only mail them to your mac.
    See:  iOS: Syncing photos using iTunes
    You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures taken by your device, or saved to it, from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email the photos from the device to yourself. Then download the photos from the emails to your computer.

    If the photos have been deleted from Photo Stream, then they are gone unless they have been saved elsewhere. Are they not in the Camera Roll of the iOS device they were taken on?
    Photo Stream is not a permanent storage solution. It stores up to the last 1000 photos taken on an iOS device for a maximum of 30 days.
