  • Run applets without JRE

    Hello to all developers,
I know that to run applets in IE we should have the JRE installed on our machines. But is there any way that we can run applets without the JRE being installed on our machines. I have also heard of something called as the Microsoft JVM. How can we use it to run the java applets.
    Thanking in advance.

The Microsoft JVM is extremely outdated and not recommended at all. You can't really run a Java applet without a JVM, and I'm not sure if any but the one Sun makes comes with a browser plugin.

  • Urgent - How to Run Applet without JRE installation

I am creating an applet which displays information using JTree. This applet needs to be deployed in 'n' systems which may or may not contain JRE. Is there any way where in i can deploy in all the systems without any error.

You could provide swing.jar and have the applet load that. It is
    slow though.

  • Is it possible to run clusterware without ASM? (on OEL 5.5)

    Hello all,
I want to have a simple failover scenario with Oracle 11g database supporting EBS 11i with 2 nodes both on OEL 5.5. Since Oracle does not support LVM in clustered environment, I plan on using OCFS2. I would prefer not to use ASM and do not want any fancy monitoring of services. I basically would like the package to mount filesystems and start the virtual IP and be able to manually fail over to other node, if necessary.
Is it possible to run without ASM on straight filesystem or does clusterware require ASM?
    thnx!

It is possible without ASM. You can run it on OCFS.

  • Run applet without jdk?

I have made an applet I run with appletviewer.
Now I want to put the whole program on a CD (or a disk) and run the program on another pc, where I don't have the jdk. Is that possible?
Or do I have to download the jdk (or jre) on that computer as well?
I've heard somewhere that java plugins should be sufficient, is that true?

The "Java plugin" is the JRE.
If you do not use special features of the JRE (such as swing components) then
the Microsoft VM might be able to display the applet.
    Otherwise: Install the JRE.

  • Run applet without install plug-in

    Hi,all!
I surfed on IBM site of iSeries information center and saw that this site has on it's rigth site - applet menu and it works fine even without installation of java plug in on client side.I know because in our company not everybody has a simple java JRE installation on windows environment, so
I was wondering if one of you could help me understand how does it work without even installation of java plug in on client side?
I cannot talk about "Silent installation" because , for example , applets that on server local network drive are not working for the same users machines. What the secret?
Can applet run some other way than plug in on user's side?
    Thank you in advance.

I forgut to give a link for that site :

  • Problem running applet with JRE 1.3.X

    Hi,
I've developed an applet that works fine with MS JVM and JRE 1.4, but fails under JRE 1.3.x.
Anyone knows what i've todo to my applet to get compability with JRE 1.3x too.
    Thanks,

Are you compiling under 1.3x and then trying to run in MS and 1.4? If so please tell the errors you are getting when you compile or what you're having problems in.
You're question is like me saying I have a feild full of volvo's from various years and I have a box of replacement parts from vaious years--but not nessisarally the same years as I have cars, which ones do I need to fix them? (impossible to say isn't it without more info)

  • IE Freeze when running applet on JRE 1.4.2_06

When i run my applet on IE 6 with JRE 1.4.2_06 and try to close IE window it freezes the IE window, while if i run the same code in 1.4.1_05 it works fine.
The OS is windows 2000 Professional and IE is 6.0.2800.1106.
Also the same applet works fine on Windows XP with IE 6.0.2900.2180 SP2 with JRE 1.4.2_06
    Please help....

The difference between the 2 is that the public JRE can be accessed from the command line using just "java ....", because the Registry maintains the pointers to it. You can use the other one (inside the JDK), but you have to provide explicit directions to it - via full paths, ie "C:\...\bin\java ....". This JRE doesn't jhave any Registry entries associated with it.
Once accessed, the 2 work identically.
If the jars are used only by programs that you execute via "java ...", there isn't a need to put a copy in the JRE that's in JDK_HOME.

  • Running Applet without Browser

    Hello All,
I've developed a test applet which contains a button.
When i click the button a Frame opens and does whatever i try to do,
Thus,to Run my applet i type the URL in the Browser and click the button to open the Frame.
My Problem is the Frame is destroyed as soon as the browser is closed!
I need the frame to be browser independent.
Could anybody suggest me how this would be possible?
    Thank you!

Applets are intended to be run in browsers.
There is a program included with the JDK that can run an applet - look for the appletviewer program. There are insructions on its use in the Java tools documentation.
It sounds like you should be running a Java application, not an applet.

  • Is it possible to run iTuens without Quicktime?

I was wondering whether you had to pair iTunes with quicktime or if there's an alternative program that does the same thing as Quicktime. I'm on Windows Vista and am having a real issue with a buffer overrun like a lot of people seem to be having with Quicktime and Vista and apple don't seem to be in any rush to resolve this problem. I haven't been able to access iTunes and therefore update my iPod for 3 months and it's driving me crazy! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iTunes is completely married to QuickTime. While QT is not that relevant for iPod management, iTunes absolutely refuses to do anything without QT. Technically, iTunes is just a database program and user interface to that database. Anytime you tell it to play a song or video it calls QT in to perform that task.

  • Is it possible to run AirTunes without a cable modem or any of that stuff?

    Hi all,
I have an airport express base station and an airport extreme card in my machine (Powerbook G4). I got the base station as a gift, and all I want to do with it is play AirTunes. I don't want to print from the hallway or download anything from anywhere on earth. In fact, I don't even have DSL or a cable modem or anything like that. I still use dial-up because I don't spend much time on the Internet.
Anyway, I've had no luck getting this stuff to work. All I get is the flashing amber light. My stereo is plugged into the base station, and my base station is plugged in. But the base station just keeps flashing amber, and needless to say, nothing is working.
So...what the @%$* do I have to do to get this thing to play some music? Do I have to have more plugged into the base station than just the stereo? I know these are probably dumb questions, but hey, I read all the documentation that came with the base station, and I still have no clue (BTW, note to Apple: hire some people who know how to write real-world documentation that actually explains how and why this stuff works and what to do when things go wrong).
ANY help would be appreciated, and by all means, please do explain it to me like I'm a six year old. I've been using Macs all my life, but this stuff is just getting to be a little more than "take it out of the box, plug it in, and watch it work."
    Thanks,
    Robin
PowerBook G4 (original titanium one)   Mac OS 9.2.x

Although you don't need an Internet or network connection to stream iTunes to your AirPort Express Base Station (AX) wirelessly, it will continue to flash amber, by design, because you don't.
To set up AirTunes on the AX, temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, use the AirPort Admin Utility to check these settings:
    Music tab
    - Enable AirTunes on this base station (checked)
    - Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port (optional)
    - iTunes Speaker Name: <whatever you wish>
    - iTunes Speaker Password (optional)
    In iTunes:
    iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
    - Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

  • How to run Java 3D Applet without install java3d

I've written a java3d applet, and it runs correctly in browser on my computer. Now I want it can be run on other computers which havent' Java3d installed. If the program runs as application, then we can use jnlp and web-start to solve this problem. But what about applet? How can I do it just like the application?
    Pls help me!

Hello. I read this article too. It sounds interesting but I have some questions. The example is given for win32 and what about other OSs and platforms? Sun provides different libraries for different OS. According to this article it is possible to run applets without previous installation of Java3D and if a user runs Windows 2000, Java3D libraries will be downloaded and installed from the location pointed out by the programmer. But how to do this for all OSs and all platforms and architectures so that if a user doesn't have Java3D installed on his/her computer, might to see the applet in his/her browser? Is it the only way that a programmer needs to include into "loader_singed.jar" all possible libraries for all possible platforms?

  • How to run VI without the DAQ card connected to the labtop

This may be a silly question but I want to have the answer and couldn't find the answer for spending time in searching in the web.
I want to run the VI that controls the intruments in my labtop. The VI was run in a destop that has a DAQ card in the PC (a PCI card).  I know it is possible to run it without errors (without a DAQ card) in my labtop . Anyone knows how to do it? I used labview 7.1. Thanks,

If you are using DAQmx and if the DAQ card is supported, you can add a simulated device in MAX.

  • To run MRP without considering unrestricted stock

    Hi,
Is it possible to run MRP without considering unrestricted stock of the material?
    Best Regards,
    Sitaraman

    Dear All,
Thanks a lot for your response to this thread.
In fact i tried the option of providing value 1 to exclude the storage location stock from the MRP. But it did not fulfil my requirement.
    My requirement is as below:
The business wants to create the material requirement by manual reservations.
Also for this MRP run except this manual reservations all other issue elements, receipt elements and stocks should not get considered.
With checking group configuration i am able to exclude all other issue, receipt and stock elements. But in this settings there is no option to exclude the unrestricted stock.
What happened when i tried giving 1 in MRP 4 view to exclude the storage location stock, the system not only excludes the stock but also it excludes the storage location from MRP run. Meaning...
    Plant   XXXX
    SLOC YYYY
SLOC - YYYY current stock: 100
Manual reservation created (requirement) for SLOC -YYYY : 50
The expectation out of MRP run is, to create procurement proposals for 50 numbers with out considering SLOC - YYYY stock of 100 and not to exclude the SLOC YYYY itself.
    Best Regards,
    Sitaraman
