Is it possible to use single communication channel

Hi,
I have created a RFC(sender) CC for one scenario (RFC ->XI -> SOAP).
Now I have got same scenario but the SOAP target service is different. Hence created new CC for target SOAP(receiver).
But the sender SAP system is same, So, Can I use the same RFC(sender), will there be any conflict arise?? or should I need to define one more RFC(sender)

There is a possibility but in the case in the same server location with dynamic configuration: Placing file in two different directories using single receiver communication Channel
With different location you would need to develop a new adapter module as Amit Srivastava explains and develops here Send File to Two Different Locations using Adapter Module

Possible to configure several communication channels for the same receiver?

Hi,
is it possible to configure several communication channels for one (the same) receiver?
The problem is as follows: I would like to switch between the RFC-channel and the XI-channel, if the RFC-Adapter doesn't work for some reason.
The situation: Our XI3.0 posts messages to several receivers and the switch should be done by changing one table entry which is selected and analysed in an ABAP-Proxy and which could enrich the XML-message. By now, the only chance I see is to change the respective entries in the Integration Directory for each receiver separately.

but this is the only way I believe
(cause you cannot assign conditions to receiver agreements)
you could also create two messages (practically two flows)
but would it be more elegant?
BTW
in my opinion you should try restarting RFC channel
and not create two - just in case...
if RFC doesn't always work why don't you use another one only?
this would just simplify your scenario (maintanance of just a number of communication channels and not 2 x number of communication channels)

HI,
The communication channel template is for the documentation purpose that will give the information about the sender and receiver communication channels in IR. So No need to goto ID and check the related CCs each time for every scenario.
You can preconfigure a communication channel with a communication channel template. You can use the communication channel template as a template to define a communication channel at configuration time.
If you want to create multiple communication channels with some identical configuration data, you should use a communication channel template.

BD Lookup Error _ Not using the COmmunication channel!

I Tried to do DB Lookup as told in this blog by siva
/people/siva.maranani/blog/2005/08/23/lookup146s-in-xi-made-simpler
I used the below code.
I am not Getting any error, the mapping is successfully ACTIVATED. But in the Receiver field i am Getting Null as output , the DB lookup which i have mentioned is not connecting to the Database and executing and fetching the query. Just inthe receiver field its througing the Null valuse. The Required Value is not fetched by using the communication channel.
I am getting the above error when i try to TEST THE MAPPING in IR.
Below is the code i used.

As i told before i have tested the interface, its not showing any error, its Activated and throwing Null as output.
Its not fetching the value from database. In CC Monitoring also the adapter is in Green Status. No error over there. Its throwing the output as Null (Default value in the code.)
Below is the connection parameter i have used:

How to monitor messages using CIDX Communication Channel

I created a CIDX Communication Channel. XI failed to get a message from the source. How to monitor the messages using CIDX communication channel.

Not sure about the monitoring but u may recheck the communication channel settings as shown:

Configuration Wizard in ID is not using existing Communication Channel

Hi,
I am using PI 7.1.
I created a Communication channel FileSenderCC for a Business System Sys_Sample_One_D with Party as blank.
After creating i can see below object in the list of communication channels in the left pane.

After this when i use Menu: Tools -> Configuration Wizard -> Internal Communication, to configure the scenrio, I selected the Business System Sys_Sample_One_D and Adapter Type "File", and proceed, while selecting the sender communicaiton channel, it cannot find the FileSenderCC that i created.
If i manually enter FileSenderCC, and complete the scenario, it is creating a new communication channel with the samename, and not using the exisitng one.
After that i see two communication channels in the left pane.

does this happen in PI 7.1 only, because when i worked in 7.0 long time back, i dont think i got this issue.

Is it possible to use single quotes in a String

Can we use single quotes and comma in side a string variable...
Eg: String s=" a ' , ' b ";
why am i asking was...... when this variable is sent to database, the table automatically recognizes the beginning single quotes and end single quotes to retreive the value from the table....
Eg for query:
select code from gm_code where sub_code in(?);
when we pass those two value to this query.. it have to execute like the following
select code from gm_code where sub_code in(' a ' , ' b');
but it is not executing.....
can you give me some suggestion to resolve this problem..

You need two strings, and you don't need to provide the single quotes. The driver does that for you when you use PreparedStatment's parameters.

Files not getting picked up using Sender Communication Channel frm MDM sy

Hi Experts,
XI sender communication channel is configured to pick up any files coming from MDM system from the following path
/XXX/XXX/mdm/mds/XXX/XXX/Material_Master/Outbound/P33/P33_R3_PORT/Ready
Earlier we had the scenario working properly that created idocs in R3 system.(MDM>XI>R3)
Currently i tried to test the scenario again but i don't see an entry in the sxmb_moni or tried checking whether the sender communication channel is working properly it showed polling correctly in RWB.The files are already sitting in the the above path.XI should be picking it up but don't know what the problem is?
I also tried a test in RWB>Integration Engine>Test Message put the payload and it was able to create idocs in R3.So i concluded there is an error in picking up message from MDM.
Is there any log available for the commmunication channel where i can see error info of whether any files picked up or not.
Please suggest me what all can be done to to ensure the CC is picking up the files.

Hi,
In addition to the RWB channel check suggested by Aamir, you should also check if the channel is
1) Active in ID
2) Channel is not locked in VA, if it is locked then your status in RWB will show processing started but the files wont be picked up...for more details check the unlocking procedure mentioned in this thread:

The unlocking procedure is the same for FILE and JDBC....

SSL Certificate for cn=abc.com considering abc.com as our major domain. now we have servers in this domain like www.abc.com, a.abc.com , b.abc.com etc. we installed the verisign certificate and configured ACE-20 accordingly for ssl-proxy and we will use same certificate gerated for abc.com for all servers like www.abc.com , a.abc.com , b.abc.com etc. Now when we are trying to access https//www..abc.com or https://a.abc.com through mozilla , we are able to access the service but we are getting this message in certfucate status " you are connected to abc.com which is run by unknown "
And the same message when trying to access https://www.abc.com from Google Chrome.
"This is probably not the site you are looking for! You attempted to reach www.abc.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as abc.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of adgate.kfu.edu.sa. You should not proceed"
so i know as this certficate is for cn=abc.com that is why we are getting such errors/status in ssl certficate.
Now my question is
1. Is is possible to remove above errors doing some ssl configuration on ACE?
2. OR we have to go for VerisgnWildcard Secure Site Pro Certificate for CSR generated uisng cn =abc.com to be installed on ACE and will be used for all servers like www.abc.com , a.abc.com etc..

If you want to use the same VIP and port number for multiple FQDNs, then you will need to get a wildcard certificate. Currently, if you enter www.abc.com in your browser, that is what the browser expects to see in the certificate. And right now it won't beause your certificate is for abc.com. You need a wildcard cert that will be for something like *.abc.com.

the scenarios is
Proxy->PI->JDBC
the condition is
IF Flag =0 it will sent to JDBC ,
IF Flag =1 it will sent to file and Mail
in mail it comes as a attachment.
I have achived this scenario using multi mapping in IR.
In ID i have used one bussiness system as Abap related and one is Bussiness Service.In that Bussiness system i have assign two Communiction Channesl.
In Reciever determination u have to select STANDARD and assing the recievers.
In interface dermination u have to select ENHANCED.
Please do these steps u r scenario will work fine.

I am planning to consolidate one of my iTunes library, move it to external source and configure external hard drive to be used by my iTunes library permanently.
For this purpose, I bought 5big NAS pro network storage hardware. I completed all basic setup and now I need help on designing access methodology.
Question is : Does external iTunes library supports to be used by more than one iTunes application? if not what will be the closest solution to save storage and ease of library management?

6 PRI configuration using single D channel

I need to insert a pair of gateways between a Nortel PBX and the AT&T network jacks. There are 6 PRIs feeding the PBX configured with a primary D channel on span 1 and a backup D channel on span 2. The other four spans have all 24 channels set as B channels.
I tried NFAS configuration but cannot get the network to except or take calls from a FXS port on the gateway. The D channel goes down and up with every call attempt.
I cannot configure NFAS to work with the PBX side. NFAS will not allow the PRI to be set for network-emulation.
Changing the configuration on the Nortel is not a good option. I need to match it.
Suggestions?

Scheduling Communication Channel

Hi all,
Please can you help me in two issues:
1. How do I Schedule the Communication channel to pick a file at a particular time, say only at 10.30 pm daily for 30 minutes?
2. In my scenario many files are placed in the same FTP location based on slight changes in the name of files based on the system from where they are placed, like 2000 for IB, 3000 for IF, etc. So i need to poll both files with file name starting with 2000 and 3000. Can it be done using a single Communication Channel?

You can give the time schedule in Processing Parameters of Sender communication channel or unix administrator also can schedule the time for interfaces with all (r/w/ex) permeations.
Your query like 2000 for IB, 3000 for IF, etc. So i need to poll both files with file name starting with 2000 and 3000. Can it be done using a single Communication Channel?
As per knowledge you have 2 receivers one for 2000 , other for 3000 , this scenario possible to send the data using single communication channel.
In message mapping using java function get the source file and in Interface Determination using X-path can differentiates and sends to target systems.

Communication Channel Template not used/found?

I've created a new integration scenario. Below "adapter metadata" I've created a communication channel template for IDOC. Now if I try to configure my integration scenario I can't find/access/use that predefined communication channel template. I only can choose between the existing communication channel belonging to the business system already used. Why can't I use that communication channel template?
